Thank you Decathlon and Marvellous Molly! Many thanks to Molly for her help with setting me up for my beginner level skiing trip. A competent skier herself, she found the right boots for my level, asked me to bring in my used once (five years ago) skis, then fitted and adjusted everything to the correct release pressure for my level. I feel a lot more confident now that I know the kit is properly adjusted. I also liked the store, it felt spacious and well laid out. I enjoyed a good browse and getting some ideas for future activities. Many thanks!

Never really considered Decathlon for bike shopping until a French friend of mine recommended them. I'm glad she did. I was finally able to find a suitable electric assisted bike (to help get back into riding without the strain), within a reasonable budget. Stock was an issue but they managed to source me two of different sizes and specs as I was borderline the size requirement. When I got to see them both, the answer was clear for me (and beautiful!). I love my new bike, it feels strong and sturdy and makes hills totally trivial if I want them to be. The staff are very helpful and polite and their products do seem a cut above the rest while costing less. Special thanks to Josh who organised the bikes and Artur who built it and helped adjust it and add things. Also I took it back a few days and he was more than helpful and friendly to readjust a few bits. Awesome guys! Strong recommendation and I will continue to shop at Decathlon in the future.

The Decathlon mechanic, Artur, was brilliant, as ever. So experienced and knowledgeable, he makes what he does look effortless. He does the job as efficiently and as affordably as possible. His recommendations are always spot on. He's also very good at dealing with multiple requests on his time with good humour and making every customer feel valued. Pretty well stocked place, seems ideal if you are looking for sports goods and clothes. BUT having said that, I found it to be on the slightly pricey side. Though they have decent online/ offline sales. Their website is pretty easy to use too. Unfortunately I went there looking for a decent all weather jacket and came back empty handed despite ignoring price tags (to begin with)

How could anyone possibly dislike this store? The quality to price ratio is nuts. Everything is priced at a very reasonable rate. They have loads of sports gear for almost anything imaginable (even archery and boxing). I highly recommend Decathlon. You might not get name brands but you will enjoy whatever you leave with and it will last longer than you would expect.

I entered Decathlon knowing very little about weight lifting, initially with the intention of looking at the kayaking section. However when I left, thanks to the excellent customer service and knowledge of an employee named Ashwin a quick glance at the weights section had turned into an educational experience and I was soon sold on a 20kg weight set. Today, I took 3 companies back for their defective goods. Firstly, Decathlon apologized and refunded the money due to the Problem with the seams of the sleeve of my jacket. Thank you . The second company, Sports Direct, did not receive a refund, saying that I had deformed the shoes I bought on January 5th on February 1st. I wanted to return the shoes because the seams were ripped. Sports Direct A Dumpster I left the shoes there. The boy who said he was a manager was extremely inexperienced and ignorant. The third company, T-K MAX, the soles of the shoes I bought two months ago were worn, they did not accept the shoes. He said that since 28 days passed, I had to take it to his company and return it. I guess I have to go to the shoe company's factory. I bought the goods from you and I have to return it to you. I left it in your trash. Sports direct and T-K MAX failed because you didn't give a guarantee for the goods you sell. I suggest you change your Sports Direct manager.

Had an great experience at Decathlon looking at ski boots and skis. It’s challenging if you don’t know what things mean such as flex and whether you are a beginner or improver etc. I was incredibly lucky that Alexander was working, and I didn’t know Decathlon employed such experts. I was able to ask lots of questions and not only pick out the right ski boots but know what skis to get and ended up talking about cycling and accidentally brought a turbo trainer as well….. 🤣

I am a keen bicycle mechanic and love to rebuild bikes. I generally go to Decathlon for my bicycle spares and accessories. Love checking on their app first and then collect in-store or have it delivered. Even rare tyre sizes for old Raleighs like 590's are stocked. I am very happy with the price and the quality of their tools and spares. Why take a chance online with someone else? My preferred choice. Love them.

I love Decathlon but having travelled 40 miles to get hands on with a selection of Down Sleeping Bags, I was somewhat disappointed to find they had just one in stock. Plenty of other stock and loads of other kit to drool over though. Parking is easy with a large car park and a McD's next door.

Loved the customer service i received from Jakub at Reading store. I went to the store last week to get the tube of my bike tire changed where I met Jakub who sounded quite enthusiast and helpful. He listened to my problem carefully and suggested a solution – after a few minutes I was on my way with a new tube installed by him. Yesterday I went back to the store as there was a noise coming from the bike when I turned the pedals and found a couple of the colleagues in workshop who suggested I speak with Jakub. He recognized me straight away and advised that the shaft is going to pack up soon. He suggested purchasing a new bike, tried selling me one too but I wasn’t prepared to buy it. Following this I asked him for advise on changing the saddle and adding lights etc. which I had already purchased, he advised me on how to change them and volunteered to fix it on my bike too – very grateful. Its unusual to receive such a fantastic customer service now a days and Jakub has restored my faith in the retail stores again.

The shop is clean and well organised with each sport and their products in separate aisles making finding things very easy. There are also a few changing rooms to try clothing. I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. There is a bike repair shop at the entrance, a self service area at the checkouts, there's also a click and collect service available (online deals can be collected instore).

IMMENSELY HELPFUL STAFF. I want to express my extreme level of gratitude to the workshop worker in Decathlon Reading, who helped me today (19:50 Fri 04 Oct 2019) with my bicycle 10 minutes before the shop closed. I had to buy certain essential equipment for riding in the dark. Above all, I had a serious issue with my pedal, which was twisted in the thread of the crankset. In fact, by that time EvansCycles workshop staff had told me outright that this can't be repaired and I would need to replace the entire crankset. This might have been the case indeed, but the problem was that I had to get from Reading back to Oxford (50 km). And replacing the crankset was not an option at that point. But the man at Decathlon, after sugesting me to come back in 4 days, suddenly said he could actually do that right then. So he did, and the pedal, in fact, lasted the 50 km ride back to OX! (Time will tell, how long it will last after that, but it seems to be firmly fixed and my main problem has been efficiently solved.) It was shameful of me not to note the worker's name. (To be fair, I was quite shocked after riding 50 km from OX to RG, which was quite a taxing trip for an ordinary commuter like me right after 2 years of no riding at all and... well, no lunch [just a funny detail]. And all this only to learn, that I can't get back.) Long story short, I was deeply impressed by the friendly, outstandingly helpful and professional staff. Thank you, guys, you're absolutely awesome! I'm looking forward to shopping sports equipment (which is quite frequent in my case) with you. VARIETY. I also had a couple of minutes to glance at the shelves. Yes, Decathlon in general doesn't have some top-notch equipment (I couldn't find even the Shimano Tiagra crankset on their website, which is a shame: I would order it right away). But Decathlon Reading is big and really well-organised (unlike Decathlon Oxford, which is basically a random collection of goods from various websites; bicycle section being utterly useless, having an enormous variety of trainers [thousands?] with at most 6 basketball models...). My first impression is that in Decathlon Reading you will basically find any type of goods for whichever sport you like (I'm sure about the bicycle section, at least). It's a shame I didn't have more time to spend there.
