Cheap but cheerless. Having visited three others stores in Broad Street without luck, I popped into Sports Direct and spotted a likely shoe on a display shelf. I looked around the nearby piles of boxes to select a pair of suitable size, without luck, and then asked a staff member; she vaguely waved towards more stacks of boxes, which I dutifully searched. I was about to give up, when I asked a more-helpful employee, who took me to the appropriate boxes - about 70 feet away from the sample. As on a previous visit, I wonder why the check-out desk was tucked away right at the back of the store

As always if we cannot find anywhere Sports Direct will have it! The Reading store is full of bargains with very helpful staff and user friendly assistant at the tills. One always gets the feeling that the store’s two floors are a bit cluttered. I’m sure the isles could be arranged in a different way to the present arrangement. At the moment it seems like a maze!

Always seems understaffed in the shoe section and not many staff elsewhere, prices are pretty good compared to some other places but savings are inconsistant

Today, everything was 50% off and the shop was exclusively for NHS staff only. It was such a great thing to do for us. And of course, they were amazing with crowd control/social distancing making it perfectly safe for everyone.

Friendly and welcoming staff and has essential things you need in sportswear and equipment. There is 1st and second floor. They have fitting rooms available om both floors.

Nice trip into SD Broad Street today. Had to come in with my nephew for some football boots. Some staff better than others. Though we were very warmly welcomed by a guy named Danny. Very enthusiastic and bubbly service.

Mixed feelings about SportsDirect. We visited Reading from Henley for some football boots and SportsDirect seemed appropriate for this cause. I've shopped at this store in Wandsworth before and wasn't over the moon with my experience. They have a selection of different sporting goods and trainers and boots. When I asked the staff for a boot in a certain size, he made a grumpy face and took them down. Miserable guy who didn't seem happy to help out. Size was too big so I asked someone else who behaved the same way. Prices are generally OK, not very expensive. Checkout staff were slightly more friendly but still didn't exit the store pleased with the customer service. Expect to spend time looking for what you want as the store is a shambles. Had what I want plus more but unfortunately that is the only positive.

Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, store has all the covid guidelines in place . Had a good experience shopping running shoes , was guided on which one to get depending on my need by the staff .

Most staffs were helpful in this store apart from a lady who seems unapproachable and disturbee whenever you ask for help. I was also advised to buy an item with the hope of exchanging it for the desired brand in another shop, but was never informed of their unacceptable returns policy. Not a good experience! Mixed experience for me.

Went into Reading town centre today, to buy some new trainers for our daughter, ready for the new term at school. Great selection available, and prices to suit most budgets. Found the staff very helpful and polite. You do need to make your presence known, otherwise I feel you could be in for a long wait. But given how busy it can be in store, once we had got a member of staffs attention, we were not kept waiting for long. All in all this was a good experience, and we came out with a nice shiny new pair of trainers, that our daughter is very happy with, and without breaking the bank! Thank you Sports Direct Broadstreet Reading.

Good product selection but seriously unmotivated staff: sudden tumbleweed when you want a member of staff to help you buy some boots (none came even when I hollered loud and clear & it wasn't busy). Next teller was intransigent when I insisted that I only wanted to take home the boots I had paid for and not a cardboard box as well - A bit of staff training required 'No the warranty is not given by the cardboard box; it is legally given by the receipt'.

I'm not usually a fan of sports direct or their service but I went in today because I had a credit note to spend. Whilst I still saw some pretty horrific behaviour from one member of staff, the others were brilliant and very efficient. Carlos in particular was friendly, attentive and helpful even when serving 2 or 3 customers at once.

Sports Direct has a range of coats and fleece lined hoodies and cardigans, just right for this season. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Pointless To go on weekends. Less staff. Waited more then 5 minutes for a member of staff members to get the shoes but no only 1 guy were working and didn’t see him. Wasted my half an hour.

Located in Broad St. Quite central and accessible. Got wide range of clothing and footwear. Store is neat and tidy with friendly staff...recommended.

Cramped and barely any variety of football shirts. Probably would make a lot more money if they offered more than just shirts for the generic teams like Man U and Chelsea...
