Came in to buy walking shoes and was delighted to learn that they offer a fitting service. Got my feet properly measured, for the first in my adult life(!) and was given helpful advice and recommendations. The staff really took care of me and spent time, I didn’t feel rushed or forced into making a purchase. The store offers a solid range of quality outdoor stuff and i highly recommend a visit!

Popped in near closing time for a rucksack and a few other items. Didn't have time to browse, but I could see there was a good range of gear from some of the best brands. The owner was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the products as he demonstrated the pros and cons of various rucksacks. So good to shop at an authentic independent specialist instead of the big chains.

I attended Outdoor Depot to have a custom boot fitting. My particular situation is that I am recovering from a broken ankle and multiple fractures of my tibia. I was attended by James who displayed not only great knowledge of the different boot manufacturers but the physiology of the ankle and foot. To this end, he was able to identify the perfect boots for my needs. I thoroughly recommend this shop not only for the exemplary service but for the quality and variety of its stock.

Fantastic service from James and the team. On Friday at approximately 15.00 hours I ordered a Paramo Quitto for mountain biking (that James has been telling me to get for years). Extremely helpful owner who took the time to explain lots of different price ranges and why some items are better for different weather conditions and differing needs. Ended up buying all our gear from here rather than one of the big discount stores as they have always disappointed in the end. Our walking gear is great and much better suited to our needs than in the past. I genuinely recommend this shop.

After spending 40 minutes getting my feet measured by an extremely knowledgeable owner and having different boot soles swapped in and out. I walked with these new boots around 30miles during a weekend without taping my feet, usually what I would find in my old boots even if I taped my feet were Deep blisters and pains in both feet. I'm pleasantly surprised that all the effort the owner spent measuring my feet and ensuring that I had the right boot. I only have one small blister barely larger than a 5 pence coin, value and personal service at its finest!!

James runs the place and was extremely helpful in preparing my gear for the local Longmynd Hike. I got an excellent pair of boots off him which he helped to fit, he also made me some custom insoles that were moulded to my feet. I'm not sure how his prices compare to other places but his knowledge and helpfulness were invaluable.

The shop may be small but it's packed full of all the decent gear you need, or just want. I received really good advice and had a long chat over some of the other items for sale. Wish I lived nearer then I would be a regular visitor.

I 'phoned the day before enquiring about a particular item of clothing and was dealt with so politely, thoroughly and professionally that I made a 25 mile round trip to the shop the next day to try on and subsequently buy the item. Having passed through Church Stretton many times on my way to and from the fabulous Shrophire Hills I was vaguely aware that this shop existed, but had no idea it was the gem it has turned out to be. Long may it continue to prosper as it a refreshing change from the soulless, understaffed, outdoors superstore on my doorstep!
