This place is excellent for young kids and grownups alike. Great atmosphere and some very good coaches. Ed is a great coach and is clear he has a lot of passion in what he does. They cater for all levels from beginner to advanced. The venue is huge with lots of tables and open space, highly recommended.

Ed is an excellent coach and Birmingham Table Tennis Academy is one of the few places in the country that offers high quality, regular adult coaching. While Ed is passionate about Junior coaching and this is an excellent place for young aspiring players to train, as a senior player returning to the sport he still makes me feel welcome at every session and makes sure he splits his time fairly between all players. Also, Ed has been getting in a lot of guest coaches and high level players for assistant coaching, offering additional 1 on 1s and even exhibition matches, including some current international players and even the legend Desmond Douglas. TLDR: Excellent place to practice table tennis, and Ed's passion for the sport and coaching really shine through more than anything else.

The coaching and encouragement for all is without question. It takes a lot of commitment and dedication every day, week in week out to attain a level of success. The results are visible and showing fruition. The youngsters that I saw are enthusiastic and have a positive energy whist at the club. It's very encouraging to see. They gain a sporting physical and health benefit whilst also getting a strong mental psychological education in the process. Ed has a natural approachable friendly trait that endears him to all. I visited Birmingham for the week with work & went to the Monday night open play session. I found everyone very welcoming & the facilities are great. Really wish I lived closer so I could attend regularly & get coaching from Ed, he was a super nice guy and the coaching session that was on looked great.

My son had joined the club for almost a year. Ed is a good coach, not only in skillwise, he also cares about the mentality, the attitude and the team spirit among the players. As a parent, I can see the development of the club, in the sense of the growth of number of players and different competitions, the width and the deepth of the training as well as the mobilization of the players in participatiing various levels of competitions, both local and national.
