D. S.This is always a good venue for party hire not only sports facilities. Good parking although limited on match and practice days.
Be aware of priority access on Chalky Road, it gets somewhat congested and awkward on exiting the centre.
J. F.Just been here to have my first workout at the gym after moving here last week.
The gym is quite dated: it badly needs a lick of paint, a deep clean and some modern cardio equipment, but it'll do til I get a car and can go elsewhere.
K. C.I travelled from Liverpool to visit my son & daughter in law to play badminton. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The staff gave us a tour of the Gym and other facilities even though they were about to close. Hannah was especially kind in showing support to my pregnant daughter in law. Thankyou Hannah!
L. s.Friendly staff, good selection of equipment and classes, always clean and there are hygiene sprays everywhere. Its not overly busy whenever i go in there so i have never had to wait to use a machine.
S. L.Great centre, has improved a lot since I was at school. Staff are very friendly.
V. M.Went to a kiddies 3rd birthday party there with our toddler and baby. Was really good, they had a bouncy castle and a little play area jungle gym set up going on for the wee scamps.
I don't think they provided the food, but nonetheless I got the impression. It was pretty good value from the parents of the child who's party it was.

K. S.Small but reasonabley well equipment gym with helpful staff. Few machines I'd like to see in there but all the basics are covered band well priced membership if you wait till there's a deal on. Can get very busy so worth checking when quiet times are.

C. J.Good range of sports but poor shower facilities. These were recently 'upgraded' but where there was previously 4 showers for public use there are now 2.5 (half because one is near unusable low) and the water is fixed at unbearably hot despite several requests to have it turned down.
C.Nice gym, not that big but there's enough equipment on hand to allow you a good and varied workout. No poseurs or meatheads either which is a result. Decent quality equipment which is kept in good condition and cleaned regularly. PTs regularly in the small office who are happy to help you out with advice on nutrition or techniques.
V. E.My daughter enjoyed herself at her first toddler gym session.
T. F.Good but they need to update the astro pitches, put flood lights on faster when the light fades, and leave the perimeter gates open so that you can retrieve the ball after you've hoofed your shot skyward :)
K. E.I have now been to numerous parties for 3-5 year olds in the Whittaker room at the sports centre as well as hiring it myself for my son's birthday - ideal venue.
C. d.Brilliant sports complex. Clubs are brilliant for adults and kids
R. C.Since the refurb to the badminton courts this hall is now very nice to play in. The lights are never an issue and the court markings are very clear. Only small issue is that the courts are quite close together so play is regularly interrupted by other shuttles or players encroaching the courts.
A. B.Lots of activities and facilities, but booking events not great. Always check your booking slots, to make sure it's right. Plus everything overlaps, so things run late and you get kicked off before your time is up.
C. M.Very nice venue. Disabled access ramp to ground floor entrance but unfortunately not to the upstairs viewing and bar area.
S. A.Would be nice if they spent as much on the sports facilities as on the reception area. We'll see if the renovation to the new hall is an improvement.
