Reviews of Derby Arena
T.
Absolutely incredible. I visited to see Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 2 Tour live and it was everything and beyond that. The staff were helpful and welcoming. However, the toilets were crowded and they only allowed you to get drinks during intervals which was a bummer due to the queues, and if they got too long, security would stand at the back of the queue and tell people to sit down.
B. S.
Excellent experience, but traffic management was appallingly bad, we waited for 50 minutes to get into the car park and consequently missed the first 10 minutes of the show. Other than that, it was a case of find your own seats pretty much, but at least when we did get parked n seated it was fab.
N. S. B.
We attend Derby University Graduation. Arrangements were good we experienced horrible weather. But I found it slightly not convenient. Pick up gowns somewhere else attend ceremony long walk away in another place. But altogether it was ok.
R. B.
This place is huge but amazing, just been there for graduation. I can't wait to start the master to go again here.
L. B.
I only saw a small part of the arena but it is an impressive place. I attended a fitness class in one of the studios which was well equipped and comfy to work in. A good car park system for arena users where you key in your registration number for 3 hours parking.
K. G.
Went to see a concert which was great. My main problems were that out of the very few disabled spots there are they decided to use 4 as the ticket queue. Then when we got in the seats were so close together that you were practically sat on the knee of the person next to you. The couple sat next to us were really struggling as he was a big chap. Won't be rushing to go back there. Would rather drive to an arena further afield.
D. G.
This is a lovely place. There's a lift for those people who find stairs too difficult, the place was nice and clean, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I might take a cushion next time though, as the seats are a bit hard.
B. L.
Arena was fine, acts great, parking and bar organisation was a catastrophe, no marshalling to the disabled parking spaces so just had to use the first available as I'd never visited before and didn't wish to get stuck in any other traffic. The 4 bar staff for 1 customer if cans of lager or cider were required were a farce as it still took an age to pour out. And after a 20 minute wait the last call to take our seats was announced luckily I was next up, ordered my drinks and the person serving tried to overcharge me for 2 drinks, I'm glad my mental arithmetic was much better than hers. Tempted never to visit again tbh.
T.
Easy parking, good views of the stage. It was a bit cold tonight in the arena and I think it's a shame that the bar remains open during performances, people were leaving their seats to get drinks which in turn interferes with peoples view of the stage.
M. K.
Went to Horizons by Brian Cox.
Show was fantastic.
Organisation and carparking was shambolic. Made for stressful arrival and departure.
D. T.
Went to watch grandsons getting coached on cycling track. They both had a great morning. They travel often long distances to get this worthwhile coaching. Also whilst there i saw teens in a seriously contested table tennis final. All in all a great place. Oh and the drinks were reasonably priced.

Hi attended this venue for my son's graduation. It is an amazing venue with plenty of parking (£3 charging for parking as it was a graduation event).
There is a cafe at the entrance which was very reasonable also which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered three bacon cobs a coffee and two apple juices for £12.
The staff were friendly and the event was well organised.
I. “. B.
The gig was great! The venue built as a velodrome and reinvented after the forced closure of the much beloved and missed Assembly Rooms seemed remarkably similar in layout, if incredibly uncomfortable. The tiered seating is made for children, just no leg room. The £5 for parking was infuriating. Any other time, when it's park and ride the parking is free.
P. G.
Third year in a row to see Morgan Brinds Panto, all three have been excellent, entertaining fun filled shows. Car parking has always been fine ( not sure if football match on at same time, will be so easy) £3 when panto parking. Paths, venue both sides of ticket collection very spacious, staff have always looked happy and very hard working especially after the show cleaning up following the show. Took a bit longer to get to this year due to road works, but not the venue's fault. Not had to use the venue's facilities so can't comment on them, but everywhere else has looked new and extremely clean.
P. P.
Its ok here but waiting around there is no seating.
J. T.
The Arena itself was great! But if you're intending to drive and park there, leave plenty of time — it took us 35 minutes to get from BK next to Costco!
M. A.
Myself and my (now my ex) went to it back in 2015 .... When we got there it was closed for the day.... But it looked pretty awesome from the outside! 😉👍
J. F.
I really enjoyed my session here. The coach was very helpful and I got up to speed sooner than I thought. You can hire all your kit if it's your first time and there is a wide range of bikes and shoes even if you are very tall.
L. A.
Exceptionally used as vaccination center. I'm very looking forward to attend a sport event inside.
Will be the sign that life has started to flow again.
Massive thank you to all the NHS staff and volunteers. 🙏🏻
K. C.
I love the architecture and the layout of the building but I think you should turn the whole place into a indoor arena, it would bring in a lot of money and big events can happen
L. J.
excellent show! clean toilet facilities, organised venue, security checking peoples bags before we went in which felt secure.
M. S.
This visit was to get my vaccination so I can't really call this a review of the arena?
However the process to get the jab was a seamless and professional experience. Well done NHS and to the amazing helpful volunteers.
M. R.
A multi purpose arena designed on the outside to look like something from a science fiction movie. Great facilities and easy to find, lots of parking. M
D. P.
Great show , great facilities, parking etc
The downside is the legroom which having 2 metal knees caused quite a bit of discomfort hence only 3 stars
R. P.
I've spent a few days here over the past year owing to the fact that my daughter competes on the track. As a watching parent the best thing about it is the café which kept me sustained through an entire day's racing programme! It's not gourmet but it does the job and the staff were terrific. The reception area has natural light and comfy seats and sofas. There are viewing options all the way round the track and, unlike Newport velodrome, there's natural light in the stadium. Some of the viewing areas are standing and others seated. The biggest seating area is opposite the entrance up a level. It can take a bit of effort working out how to navigate your way around the complex but it's impressive how much they've fitted into the building. Parking was free for us because the barrier was up and the parking company were not present.
T. S.
Fantastic facility and the event that we were attending (indoor hockey tournament) was hosted free! The staff were superbly welcong and accomodating. Was very envious watching the cyclists using the velodrome.
C. B.
Wonderfull facilities and great arena for GB handball team
i. r.
Modern and we'll set out. Visited for the festive panto with family. Easy parking courtesy of bus running every few minutes from the car park. Great facilities and sound. Worth a visit, gym and velodrome looked excellent but haven't sampled.
M. B.
My son had his first go on the track today at the velodrome and loved it. great facility.
S. A.
Excellent service nothing was too much of a problem. Clean toilet area. Straight forward getting into & out of the car park. Well done
N. C.
Went for my grandsons graduation & now know how the arena is laid out for entertainment. I will be booking as its a great place.
R. U.
I have visited a few times for cycling events, the seating is good and close to the action but the track centre is so low that it has a really obscured view. Staff are nice and the venue is clean and tidy.
G. A.
Great show but seating on the wings has very little leg room.
R. K.
Great place, lovely, friendly staff, good amenities, very clean, nice, reasonably priced cafe.
M. M.
Decent and clean facilities, friendly staff and reasonably priced.
G. T.
Never got a consistent explanation of parking arrangements for people with Disabilities, so hopefully the private company they sub contract to wont fine us!
Very clean venue
They need to consider upgrading the catering facilities to give the team space to provide for large numbers
S. S.
Easy to access multisport venue with welcoming staff and cafe. Plentiful parking including EV charging, provided have correct Pulse app/card.
D. C.
Great atmosphere, very well organised for the graduation.
L. K.
Good clean facilities. Put on great event.
R. L.
Visited to watch Jack Whitehall. Parking was directly outside only a short walk to the venue. Bar area was well stocked and staffed. Sound system and views were also excellent.
S. D.
Took my son for a taster session on the track and we were absolutely blown away by how good it was.
The building is spotless and quite beautiful, my son found his coach to be passionate about cycling and that was infectious. He passed Stage 1 and we've signed up for stage 2 as soon as we could. The lady on the desk was also most helpful and friendly to us clueless newbies and we felt immediately welcome.
There's a nice cafe for a coffee and on the day we went there was a table tennis competition going on on the ground floor on the level down from the track. It was a nice place to spend a Saturday morning.
Only wish we'd known about it sooner.
S. M.
Just started at the Gym here! Brilliant! Such a friendly helpful team, and the equipment is always working! Lovely Cafe 24, serving homemade soups too! Also felt very Covid Safe👍
A. G.
Great little venue, first time here actually. Went to jimmy carr. It was very compact and personal. The services….bar and stuff was very quick serving, they didn’t hang about. A little bit of confusion with regards to entry, not very well signed. Went in one door to be told it was another, no clear signage to tell people that. Apart from that, yeah really nice.
D. H.
Surprisingly great acoustics. Helpful, friendly staff.
M. W.
Been here many times. Staff always helpful.
K. A.
Went to see Sarah Millican. Had a great night. Super friendly and helpful staff. As a disabled person and wheelchair user, it's hard to go out and not have to worry about accessibility and facilities as well as waiting in long lines, and being in big crowds. It was lovely not to worry about any of that. Ticket pick up was simple and eas. Queues were well handled and priority lines for disabled people was fantastic. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for making my night so easy to enjoy.
c. s.
I really wouldn't recommend going to see a show here, the acoustics were awful with lots of reverb, made it hard work trying to listen with all that back ground noise! Assembly rooms was much better
J. D.
Highly recommend the gym also wheelchair friendly.
S. R.
Had both my jabs here. The staff and volunteers created a very professional, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. On both occasions I was done within about 5 minutes of entering the building. Brilliant, thank you and very well done. Go and have a peek at the wildlife trust area at the rear of the car park before driving home.
N. A.
Not that much facilities no swimming pool just basic gym
L. S.
Went there for my first covid jab. Extremely impressed with the setup they had. Safe, very efficient. Was only waiting in line for 15 minutes, the nurses and volunteers were all very pleasant. It makes me proud of our NHS and public volunteers.
C. B.
Nice place to visit with parking nearby and close to Derby county football club.
L. P.
Having only attended for our vaccines, most recently taking my gran yesterday. I can say that I am impressed with the area, easy to get to, plenty of on site parking. All the staff have been lovely. The arena itself is modern inside, well presented and clean. Very much looking forward to attending events there in the future 😀
S. S.
The best Panto in the East Midlands every year. Lovely venue. Great staff. Fun filled atmosphere.
J. M.
Brian Cox was fantastic, and the event was an amazing experience.
K. M.
Came here to see the national cycling. Free parking at the door. Good seats. Staff all helpful though could improve their food offering
M. L.
Massive area. Went for university graduation day.
e. w.
Good gym, good modern equipment and helpful staff.
D. N.
Problems with the sound at the start but was quickly rectified and the rest of the show was awesome. Crowd fantastic and they played a few extra songs . Great night
M. I.
Great to be back at a live event! Brilliant set from Jimmy Carr.
Unfortunately as good as the show was the floor seating wasn't set out well, no space whatsoever between seats.
Poorly laid out and designed in terms of queueing for the bar and the toilets.
Over 3000 people sat too close to one another, having to squash past each other to get anywhere or move around. Not a great situation when we're in the midst of a global pandemic.
E. C.
I went for my first Vaccine today at the Arena and they were brilliant! I was so nervous the staff were so lovely and made me feel so calm! Want to say a big thank to the staff for their service and kindness! See you again soon for 2nd one.
A. J.
Had my first vaccine today and couldn't have gone better. A welcome round every corner from the volunteers. Kind and polite staff when doing the vaccine. Adequate seating area for the 15 minute wait. Everything explained clearly and patiences given. Perfect if your someone who is anxious about the experience. Plenty of on site parking too.
M. U.
Great experience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys cycling and is tempted (even if intimidated) by the idea of riding on track. I had a great intro to the velodrome and will definitely be back.
G. H.
Went for a graduation, really well organised and good facilities.
R. P.
What a great place to do sports and keep fit.
c. b.
Fabulous facility. Great to see British Cycling performance squad inaction.
H. E. H.
We came for our jabs in the last few months. Everyone was amazing so helpful and friendly. Great parking lots of spaces. It was a nice experience and the building looks great inside and out!
F. w.
Went here last night to see postponed elvis show. Very impressed with show and seating. Good view of the stage. £5 parking fee which was directed by staff.. Security checks good.. Staff wearing masks.. Bar prices bit expensive.. (£9for can of budweiser and can of strongbow) but very enjoyable experience..
M. V.
I really can't judge the Arena as a venue place. I was there with a friend for his Covid jab. It was organized efficient, still with signs for social distancing. It definitely felt safe. The staff/volunteers were really helpful.
The building from outside looks intersting. I think there is enough space for parking when there's a venue.
G. T.
Good show. Seats abit close together and uncomfortable.
R. V.
Went to see sleeping beuty twice and i saw the last performance. Amazing best panto ive ever seen! Richard/mervin was my favorite so happy for him going to be an actor but so sad to see him go. Sad to see its over but it was fabulous!!
F. G. (.
Really nice place for training. Very good coach for track bike. Good ambiance. À place to go.
G. G.
Only one prob couldn't get a drink when show started. How you gonna make money?
A. C.
Great place to learn to ride track. Good quality facilities, great coaches. Shame the café doesn't stay open for after evening sessions though.
N. N.
The foot bridge is now closed but a great place to visit.
D. S.
Went the other evening for 2nd Covid jab, brilliant organisation' and efficiency. Well done to all involved!
k. h.
Very well organised amazing event. My only criticism was that we felt very crammed in. Not enough room to sit comfortably for long. I had to sit on edge if seat couldn't fit in to sit back. No covid safety
A. P.
Larger than I expected.
Very much a place to visit though out the week loads of things to do
C. M. (.
Graduation was amazing! The staff were accommodating and the security were very friendly.
M. f.
This is a review for the gym only, I have never used the cycle track but it looks pretty good.
Pros:
Clean
Receptionists are friendly and helpful
The changing rooms are always clean (I have only ever been at night though)
The gym equipment is of a good quality (although the shoulder press machine doesn't actually pick up on the screen that you're doing anything)
Ample parking
Cons:
The gym is very small so it only takes about 3 people in the free weights area for space to be a bit limited and if you're not that confident it does put you off going in there
Gym staff don't look overly interested when they're there
It's exactly the same as every other gym which really anoys me. When the trainers do talk the guys will either only talk to the "hot girls" or the "gym bunnies" and the female staff will only talk to the "hot guys", I have never even been so much as acknowledged by a member of the gym team there, there was 1 person (unsure which they bit they worked in) who did at least smile at me but I did happen to be looking in their direction as they came down the stairs so probably just being polite.
The gym plays typical gym music (for me that's a con but some people like it) so bring headphones if you don't
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the gym...it's fine, but unless you take advantage of the classes etc then I don't think it's worth the money
J. W.
Fantastic panto.Very professional, good fun for all ages. If you've never been to a panto then please go to this one . Excellent cast the dame especially who I believe wrote the script and directed.Rita Simons plays the wicked fairy Carabosse. Rita starred in EastEnders as Roxy Mitchell. Five stars.
l. w.
Was there for my covid jab. Very efficient arrived early and was out before my appointment time. Excellent set up staff very friendly. We didn't have more than five minutes to wait.
B.
Best place ever!
My mother had a physiotherapy session there. Also my family and I got our vaccination jab there!
In general, there was clean and staffs were polite.
v. c.
Good gym, needs a clean on some of the surfaces (banana 🍌 skin and other bits on the window sill) need to remind people to replace equipment and clean down after use would be helpful.
M. “. L.
I was a bit dubious about a velodrome becoming a venue for a show/ gig.
But I was pleasantly surprised how it was converted. The refreshments could do with looking at, £4.50 for a can lager/beer is very steep. But apart from that, it was a good evening watching Jimmy Carr
M. H.
Went there for my covid vacation. Parking, entry, delivery, waiting area and departure layout is really good and I was done in no time. Everyone was really friendly and a big thanks to all the volunteers and NHS that make the whole thing possible! Top job!
j. b.
Brilliant night at the arena . Staff are very helpful here . Parking was good .
The Dreamboys amazing !!
J. F.
Really clean, well laid out and easy to park at.
G. C.
My husband & I went to Derby Arena for our second Covid vacs on Sunday afternoon. Just like the first time, everyone was so friendly from directing us to the car park to guiding us round the Arena. Made the whole experience pleasant. Even better, neither of us had any reaction to the jab (last time only lasted 24 hours). Big thank you to all the lovely volunteers who are doing a fantastic job, much appreciated.
M. K. A. C.
I went there being with Derby County Community Trust getting back to doing exercises due to my BMI being very high.
I enjoyed it very much. But I ached all over.
a. n.
Went to circus of horrors...
Great show over priced refreshments
M.
very advance arena. We usually go every year to play table tennis and it is very amazing. Just the quality of the food was not great, I hope they increase that too..
b. s.
Went for a vivid jab. Everyone was very nice and efficient. You gave your name on entering and was directed where to go by smiling people and went to a desk who confirmed your details and sent you to a nurse who gave you the jab. You were then sent to the waiting area for 15 minutes until you could leave. All the seats were sanitised as you got up and was shown to the exit. We were only in for 20 minutes it was so efficient
M. l.
Great covid vaccination centre, awesome & amazing staff and volunteers, could not fault the excellent safety measures and attention to detail that has gone into the planning and welfare of the many people attending for vaccinations. Huge thanks to all the team at Derby Arena.😷👍👏.
T.
It was time for my 2nd dose today 💉 Lot's of friendly staff both inside and outside the arena. My appointment was in the morning with no queues and no waiting. I was in and out in just under 10 minutes 🕘 👍🌈 Thanx to all the volunteers ❤️🤍🧡💚🖤💙💛💜
L. K.
I love the Arena and it is great for Derby to have something like this. I have been before to watch track and to look around the gum but my latest visit was for my covid jab. It was very well set up and everyone was so helpful. Whether the personnel there are being paid or they are voluntary my hat comes off to every single one of them! Thank you
J. M.
Went for my vaccination here but have been to the sports complex previously and the facilities are fantastic. Can't wait for it to be back up and running again.
P.S. is it only me that refers to it as "The Pringle"?
K. H.
Didn't visit for it's primary function, but for my Covid Vaccination. Wanted to use the opportunity to thank and congratulate the organises and staff for their superb running and attitude of the role out.
D. P.
Used this venue for Badminton in the past and it is great. Massive car park so no issues when it comes to getting a space, apart from Derby County home match days. Very modern both inside and out with the outside not to everyone’s taste I’m sure. Great watching the cyclist race round the track up in the rafters while you are playing although I did sometimes find myself getting a little distracted but in a nice way.
In recent times the place has been used as a vaccine station and I must say what a wonderful slick operation. Well done and thanks to everyone involved - absolutely first class.
M. H.
Absolutely fantastic for getting your COVID jab. Very efficient, with welcoming staff. Very professional service. All power to the NHS. So much better than Serco and their failed app, which cost £39bn and apparently only pings government ministers it seems.
A. C.
First Body Combat class. It was hard work but loved it. Class instructors lively and supportive.
H. K.
Visited for this year's panto, lots of room in the seats we had and really enjoyed the performance.
T.
Amazing facility with good parking and plenty of bus routes to make travel easy. Currently working as a Covid vaccination centre, the staff are super helpful and the whole process was simple and efficient all the way through.
D. E.
Excellant. Went for a taster day on the track. The venue is really nice and the coach Simon was brilliant. Highly recommended
s. c.
place for badminton, table tennis and. Gym. All very good and well maintained
M. N.
Today my wife and I went for our COVID inoculation. The process could not have been easier.Fantastic caring people from the minute we arrived as we were looked after throughout the process. They all deserve a medal and would we would like to thank each and everyone of them.
V. L.
Went to see the Production of Jack and Jill, was absolutely fabulous. The event centre itself was very good. It was clean, staff were very helpful, the seating was comfortable.
My only complaint would be that there isn't enough seating outside in the either foyers.
G. L.
Took my elderly parents for their 2nd Covid-19 vax. Very busy but the queue went down quickly. A lovely lady took my Dad through early as he was in a wheelchair and it was so chilly outside, even though he was covered up with a blanket. Swift, friendly service. Very impressed. Thanks so much
G. K.
Came for both my vaccines.
Very well organised.
Not busy, plenty of space to walk around and socially distance.
Great use of the venue.
A. C.
Just had my first covid jab. I can not describe how friendly, fast and efficient it was from start to finish. The staff are all amazing and great to see everyone social distancing. See you in July for the second jab. 👍
D. M.
Went for my second Covid jab, and although it was really busy, it was so well organised that it was still a very quick process. It's nice to see the Arena getting some use, I assume when this is all over it will go back to White Elephant status. But in the meantime, well done to the NHS and all the volunteers.
J. H.
I had my vaccine here and what a place to get your first jab! It's now on my hit list for I must go there when it opens for sport.
The NHS and all volunteers are doing an amazing job there at the moment, very organised and friendly.
Thank you
S. W.
Always fantastic. Dealt with the corona virus rules very well so the gym is safe to open. During the lock down the staff did more than enough for the members with online workouts and answering questions. Many thanks! I'm sure the other members would also agree.
C.
Obviously went for a vaccine rather than sport however was an excellent and very efficient experience. The building is beautiful inside and out, would love to go when not in a pandemic.
S. T.
Went to pantomime there.sleeping beauty.very well organized with bar and food on sale.
Great view of stage .
Three pounds to park car
R. M. (. S.
I came here for my Covid Vacation, well organised and safe
R. D.
Seen Brian Cox here - brilliant
S. W.
Always love coming to the arena. Great gym but different classes to attend if you want.
C. E.
Wonderful staff. Great food with excellent presentation. I'm very fussy about everything when I walk through the door in a restaurant. This place is amazing and I could not fault a thing. Very very nice
G. B.
Great venue with loads of parking
D. G.
Great venue.
L.
Got my covid vaccine here, very organised and efficient. Have also attended before for various performances where there was plenty of space however the bars were very busy and difficult to que in an organised manner.
A. H.
PLS SORT PARKING. Went here Weds 16th Mar 22 to see Jack Whitehall starting 8pm. (a) we drove and were in the vicinity in plenty of time but then had to join a queue snaking around Pride Park at 7:20pm. Took 35 mins to crawl at a snail's pace into the car park. The cause? Only two people checking parking permits or taking money at the car park. With only 5 mins to curtains-up the attendant insisted on scanning my QR permit even though it was clearly identical to the hundreds scanned earlier. So frustrating. Come on please, let's make this more efficient. As it stands, you end up having large sections of your audience feeling annoyed before they have even walked through your doors! (b) we therefore missed the opportunity to enjoy a pre-show drink. We had bought vouchers for drinks packages but they gave minimal discount, we still had to queue for a fair old stint (not outrageous) in the same queue as everyone else in the interval, and although the bar staff were commendably sympathetic there was no way to get a refund for the extra drinks we would not be able to consume as we had missed pre-show owing to the poor car park management. (C) Narrowest seats I have sat on since school. Uncomfortable and you end up feeling very close to your neighbours, which is not what I am after even, after we have beaten COVID. (D) there is a large container blocking the pavement between exits D and C. Walking back to the main car park from D we were met by a sea of people coming towards us on the narrowed pavement , meaning we had to step out onto the road. Not great, and impossible for those with mobility disabilities. (E) The show itself was moderately funny, (actually hilarious in a few places) though what was not made clear in the advertising literature was that the show was actually promoting a book! In one sense I admire the chutzpah of all involved, and I am sure it would make a great evening for diehard fans.
Perhaps the venue would be kind enough to reply and share their thoughts. I will visit again at some point and will be happy to repost with an update which I hope will be a lot more positive, should these issues be addressed. The stars awarded reflect good staffing levels (apart from the car park bottleneck) and those I met were friendly and helpful. Thanks.
D. B.
Great service for our Covid vaccines. Had not been there before so do not know what it would be like for other events. Never been to a venue with so many toilets!
J. R.
The only velodrome I've ridden at so can't compare to others...
Ridden with several of the local cycling clubs on the track. Hired bikes and us the ladies saddles they provide...
S. S.
Everyone in there is amazing going out of the way to make sure we all get our vaccinations. They work so hard and all deserve a medal. Well done 👏
K. C.
Decent venue. Horrendous car parking.
d. s.
Super venue, did the track taster course, friendly staff and shoes and bikes all good quality. Track is to behold as you cycle round with 22 degree bank on straights and 42 degree in the bends.
C. C.
Had 2nd covid jab here. Both times were very organised with friendly volunteers (thankyou) and proficient staff. Sanitised hands entering and leaving the building. Seats cleaned in-between each use. Can't wait for Arena to be used as it was intended. Keep up the good work. 👍
S. 3.
Great gym, excellent classes and instructors
J. R.
Hi all, I suffer from anxiety & depression so going to Derby Arena for my Covid jab was a bit scary. No need for concern. Loads of very helpful & supportive staff. Very well organised, no drama at all & lots of support for concerned people. If you are worried about attending please don't be, you will be very well looked after :-) Stuff all the bad news the UK National Press likes to deliver, reality is so much better. I'm very impressed with the service provided, it was quite frankly, excellent. A huge thank you to all the organisers & staff, great job :-) Thank you PS: Parking is free & easy so no worries there either!
J. B.
The graduation event I attended was organised very well. Staff were unfailingly polite and helpful despite the very large numbers of people attending.
G. P. 2.
Great for my vaccine dose.....! Impressive building, great venue, how outstanding to have cycling events here, no races as apparently it's too short...! Go figure.....answers on a card to de21 0 my god...xx
N. W.
Just had our first Covid vaccine here. I was extremely impressed with how organised it was. 25 minutes in and out including the 15 minute wait after the injection.
D. P.

Z. B.
I just went there for my vaccination and I was impressed how well everything was organised. The staff were very friendly and professional. Thank you so much.
J. L.
Such a well organised vaccination centre. I went for a vaccine today and was very impressed. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the car security to the NHS workers. It is much appreciated all the work that has gone into this programme. These wonderful Angels are helping and caring for us all. I also noted all the volunteers around the arena they have hearts of gold for sure 💛
s. r.
Brilliant. Second Covid 19 jab done and dusted today at Derby Arena.😁. NHS staff and volunteers absolutely wonderful, all credit to them and to the Derby Arena for being the perfect venue in order to cope with the huge amount of people attending appointments for vaccination. 😃
D. H.
Awesome venue. I have used the sports facilities, function rooms and been to live events. Great staff, great facilities, well worth a visit.
e.
Went for both jabs. Very efficient and we'll organised. Plenty of room and friendly and helpful volunteers and NHS staff. Over in a jiffy.
P. W.
Open as a Covid vaccination centre. Fantastic and friendly staff to guide you in and show you where to go for vaccination.
Massive amount of snow the night before, but cleared for everyone to access. Well done everyone.
H. B.
Very good well organised. Good venue
m. s.
Great night out, shame about the floor plan!
Q. B.
Of course the Arena has been handed over to the NHS as a mass vaccination centre and it is really the vaccination centre I am writing this about. Fantastic. Car park full of volunteers helping you park. Lots of volunteers steering you in the right direction, it would be impossible to go wrong. And once you reach the actual vaccination bays, a very reassuring professional attitude and still very efficient. Throughput is massive, you can tell by how quickly the queue moves when you join it and the huge number of cars arriving and departing. Cannot praise the organisers of this facility enough.
K. F.
I received my 1st covid-19 vaccination here. The venue was very well organised, staff in attendance were very welcoming and social distancing was observed throughout my time there.
A. M. T.

L. C.
I just went to the sleeping beauty pantomime there a couple of days ago and was very funny! Best pantomime I had seen in ages! Would DEFINATELY recomend!
L. C.
Went to see sleep and beauty absolutely fantastic performance,,, shame the staff at the arena were so miserable, will sick to Nottingham from now on, they refused to ask the dame to read out my daughter birthday wish, because we were few minutes late, miserable faces, unfriendly bunch of people, never again awful atmosphere, it's Christmas not a smile between them,my daughter was really upset ruined the day, remember be kind you never know what another person is going through, or been through,
R. W.
Great facilities and excellent parking
H.
It was great, as I attended my graduation there. It was pretty easy to walk around and very spacious. And a great location as it's quite nearby to some lovely eating places, and also about 5-10 minute drive to the city centre
T. L.
Came here for my covid vaccine, plenty of parking and really efficient inside. First time I've ever been inside here and would love to come when bikes can be used there.
J. D.
Recently visited for my daughter's Covid vaccination, whole process well managed. Pre-Covid visited annually for the pantomime at Christmas time, a hood venue for enjoying such performances.
D. S.
Never been before, very well organised venue, easy to get to well signposted, large car park with overflow on Derby County football ground, inside is very well laid out, clean and very pleasant staff
S. O.
Visited to receive my 2nd Covid vaccination.
It was very well organized, I was in and out in a jiffy and the NHS staff and volunteers were amazing.
S. P.
Couldn't fault them with the organisation of the vaccine delivery. Everyone was so helpful, kind and considerate.. with smiles and laughter... Absolutely brilliant, thank you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
G. H.
This review concerns the covid19 vaccination. The operation is superbly organised and faultlessly executed. A nod of thanks and admiration goes to all involved.
And there was somewhere undercover to lock my bike....bonus👍
L. J.
This was my second visit for covid jab ( no. 2). I have to say how well and efficient the system is organised, from parking to leaving staff (volunteers) were polite helpful reassuring absolutely excellent thank you all.
K.
Went with school for the big bang fair, it was great
N. D.
Went for my 2nd jab today, and all the staff inside were brilliant and I thank them for what they are doing. But the visit was slightly spoiled by a jobs worth in the car park, but there is always one.!!!!
Thank you again.
S. C.
Good for sport events but not so good for shows the sound system is not adequate and venue is not geared up for it
A. B.
This is an excellent venue. Great facilties, front of house staff and class tutors
B.
Great venue! Staff were all super friendly and welcoming.
B. F.
Vaccination staff and volunteers are first rate. They could not be better. Thank you for all your essential hard work.
S. H.
Been for my 1st vaccination and it is really well run and organised. Well done to all staff and volunteers you are doing an amazing job.
J. J.
I actually was there for my astra zenicka covid Jab and all was very quick and very friendly and knowledgeable. I have been there for the gym and the cafe in the past, as a gym it's okay, they also do classes but I've never been. Cafe is a bit overpriced however that is the same at all of them (gym cafes) and food isn't anything special run if the mill basic fare.
J. P.
Currently being used as a vaccination hub. Very well run, lots of helpful and friendly staff and volunteers. Seems very popular so some queueing outside which was rather chilly. Be prepared.
J. G.
Came here for my Covid 19 inoculations, both times proved to be a great experience, well organised friendly staff and volunteers get you through the process with the minimum fuss. I now feel safe and I'm happy to recommend Derby Arena - it couldn't be better.
D. H.
Went to See Killer Queen on Saturday night - the band were really good drinks priced as you would expect. Only issue was sounds failure - it didn't affect me as i was in the lower tier. A decent venue.
D. H.
2nd Pfizer jab. Few minutes queue inside, but very well organised, plenty of staff assisting. Very COVID safe. Toilet facilities on site.
Easy parking at venue too.
J. G.
Came here for both my jab, what amazing volunteers helpful, bless you guys xx. 🥰🙏🏼 stay safe. Ph free parking yay xx thanks again
J. P.
My review is purely regarding my experience in using the gym.
On the whole, it's a great gym. The size of the place, and the range of equipment available is excellent. Even at its busiest periods, it never feels full, or like you're having to wait around to get on any equipment - except for in the dedicated weights area.
Unfortunately, when I go, straight after work, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, it is packed with school kids. Even kids that can't be older than 12 or 13. They often congregate in large groups around one machine, in the free weights area, or the area at the opposite end of the gym, where many gym members like to work on their core strength. It annoys the hell out of me because they aren't motivated to work out, use the equipment incorrectly and often just sit on the machines using their phones to talk selfies. The gym staff need to take a more proactive role in either educating them on how to work out in the gym, or conversely, warning them about their behaviour, before turfing them out. It's not fair on the rest of us who are serious about keeping fit or working towards achieving our fitness goals.
Outside of typical working hours, Sunday mornings are the best time in the week to go. Get there when it opens at 7am and you can have a good two hours worth of freedom to get on / do practically anything you want.
E. D.
Spacious and great viewing experience
S. W.
Great arena and really good space. Lots of car parking spaces and looks so cool from the outside. We held a Trampoline competition there as it has a large amount of floor space. Can cater for conferences and other events, five them a bell staff are friendly.
M. R.
Very modern, mid sized arena. Visited to get the Covid vaccine, and I couldn't fault the organisation. Will be nice to visit for an event one day, when we can!
R. B.
The Arena is now acting as a mass Covid vaccination centre. It's very well organised from the parking and queueing to the admin and vaccinations. Staff and volunteers are all friendly. No stress!
J. N.
Transporting a family member for COVID vaccine. Very impressed with the way everything was organised. Staff and volunteers doing a fabulous job. Thank you to them all.
P. B.
Attended for covid jab 1010 Sunday 14 feb.Brilliant NHS Staff and volunteers deserve a big medal. Special thanks to nurse Wendy on Bay 4.Very well done to all.
L. B.
Went for first covid vaccination and got to say it was very well organised and ran smoothly. Thankyou to everyone involved in the smooth running of things from start to finish. Well done
H. G.
I was there today for my covid vaccine. The staff & volenteers were very friendly and were working hard. I was probably scared of being out and about but they were very welcoming.
G. U.
My trip to derby arena to have my second jab them nurse and helpers are angels as I have a fear of needles and they made me feel really calm and them people there need medals god bless them all and thank you for making us safe.
C. V.
Great afternoon riding at the velodrome. Instructors are great, equipment in good condition. Would recommend.
Update...2nd trip. Really good fun. Instructors excellent and made the visit memorable. Definitely recommended.
J. H.
Had both my covid vaccination here and it was so well organised. Easy to find and very quick to get done. Stall very efficient and helpful
R. H.
Great night watching the national Madison Championships. Top class athletes making it look 'almost' effortless.
J. O.
Used for both my Covid vaccinations - clean, tidy and well organised. Plenty of car parking and helpful staff made the process quick and easy
L. S.
We took our granddaughter to see the pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. The Arena was set up really well for the event and once inside you soon forgot you were sitting in the middle of the velodrome circuit. Everyone worked so hard to make it success with the cast outstanding, superb singing and dancing by all. There was colour, vitality, humour supported by courteous staff. Well done to The Arena and Pantomime company. A great night.
V. C.
We went to see the christmas pantomime here and it was fantastic. Great staff, very helpful with finding your seats. Quick and easy to get in and out. Good parking, clean facilities.
A brilliant day out. Would definitely recommend it
R. F.
It's nice inside and staff are excellent shame they make some odd management decisions...
T. T.
Fantastic ! Amazing, easy, friendy and professional service had by all the NHS and volunteers for my 1st and 2nd covid vaccinations. Praise and thankyou all.
C. W.
Went today to see beauty and the beast. The tickets were a Christmas present and weren’t really suited for my special needs child. My child became very agitated where we were sat and started kicking out. Your staff were absolutely brilliant and let us sit on the side so she had space. I didn’t get your name but thank you so much for your help and support
S.
Was nice experience. Went to see Rhod Gilbert. Drinks were out of cans and stupid prices, seating was intimate but I enjoyed the show and it was overall pretty okay. Would go watch something there again no issues.
P. L.
Looks good. Nice bike track
S. B.
Only went here for my Covid jab, but what a lovely arena! So clean, spacious and modern looking, and was super cool in the blazing afternoon heat!
J. P.
Visited it to see the panto, fantastic show can't wait until next year. Great fun for all the family. Venue superb, helpful staff and car park charges that didn't break the bank.
D. W.
Came tonight for my vaccine. Very well organised. All the Marshalls & the nurse that gave me my vaccine we're lovely 😊
S. J.
Plenty of parking. Ideal location for events which is the reason for the visit. Clean and plenty of toilets, easy to access and large venue.
k.
Nice venue , needs a bit of paint , bare walls look so plain. More toilets too. Was here for Brian Cox, no warm food upstairs . Plastic seats uncomfortable sitting for nearly 3 hours
D. B.
This rating refers to the content. The venue was good and the evening ran smoothly. You could park for £5. The main event was Professor Brian Cox. His international tour covers the development of the universe from big bang to black holes. If you have an interest in physics/cosmology this is for you. You don't have to be an expert.
S. W.
It's fabulous place, really enjoy the show
J. B.
Star off for being searched by a random man who didn't identify himself before being allowed into the Gym today.
By far the best gym facility out of the three council ones on offer. Everything is working, including the air conditioning! Excellent selection of machines and weights. Lovely and clean and modern.
G. S.
Amazing venue. I routinely attend the biking sessions on the track and love it. The coaches are amazing!
D. D.
This place gives the best Astra Zeneca vaccine jab around. I would never go anywhere else during a pandemic.
H. P.
Fairly small venue but adaptable for many events. We went for a Christmas pantomime.
_.
Great facilities and the toilets are very clean! They have a velodrome and inside that some indoor hockey pitches that can also be used as football pitches and much more. A good cafe, namely cafe 42, which served quickly and the food was good.
l. e.
I went for my covid 2nd jab very well organised, staff are on it very polite and always happy to have a chat with you even though they are under so much pressure, it was great to have someone there, thank you to all
J. G.
We went to see a comedy show. There was plenty of parking and loads of friendly staff who helped get everyone in and to their places. Everything was well signed posted and we had no problem getting our tickets. The facilities were excellent!
N. R.
I have used the velodrome facilities many times, got myself accredited etc. Phil and Simon have been/are always great with their coaching input. Facilities are top notch, showers and toilets clean, nice little cafe.
G. G.
Currently COVID-19 vaccination Centre. Very efficient and polite staff. The whole process takes less than 10 minutes.
T. H.
Went for second jab. Very well organised. Easy parking. Well done to all the staff and volunteers, keeping us safe.
J. H.
Visited for my first covid vaccine. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Quick service and nice venue
L. P.
Spent the weekend at a trampolining competition and had messaged in advance about using the gym facilities. All agreed by the centre on messenger so really happy, downside was the member of reception staff on duty didn't seem that happy about my using it until I provided the proof, still appearing put out I had it, so marked down for that.
N. K.
It's a nice building. 3 stars = "It's okay".
My problem was that there was no signs to direct spectators to seats for the event. Some routes from the 2nd floor to the ground floor entailed having to go outside and coming back in again to get round the barriers. The lifts were not well signed.
M. G.
Wow this place is huge. My visit wasn't linked to the bike activities but they still were practicing on the race track. Very well lit and everything you need under one roof. Facilities include toilets, seating area, lobby with electric points to be able to charge devices mini cafe, water fountains and a car park.
m. f.
Second visit for my covid jab highly organised makes you feel very humble. Hopelly next visit will be part of Derby Live possibly a panto oh yes we will. Thank you MF
D. C.
Son went to see sleeping beauty just before Xmas. Everything was lovely
M. S.
I would just like to thank all the staff organising the covid injections. The service was friendly and very professional and so quick. Excellent organisation Thankyou very much. Marian Sanders
M. J.
Great location and facilities. Visited for a business expo rather than a sporting event. The flexible seating means it can be used for either. Plenty of on-site parking and easy access from the A52 or A6. Located on Pride Park just next to the stadium.
T. i. S.
Went to see whitney tribute act...Was wonderful, amazing atmosphere, quick to enter, we felt safe with security and first aiders clearly visible. Only con I would say is the food and drink being served was extremely slow, people at the back of the queue often got asked to return to their seats without being served, I'm pregnant too so no drink throughout the 2nd half of the show was awful (I'd drank my water I took I'm the first half). This is something I'd address as they clearly can't support the amount of people there and it wasn't at full capacity that night.
A. P.
Really good venue actually. Boxing event was really good. A bit pricey but expected due to the event. Smoking area could be better planned but all staff were friendly and approachable.
S. W.
Brilliant venue. Runs smoothly. Can't get a cab though after.
Could do with being sorted.
J. J.
Went to see Jimmy Carr and it was great!! Easy carpark, not that long queues in or out. Great show
G. D.
Watched " Sleeping beauty" ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC one of the best pantomime shows I have seen. Definitely worth a watch
D. C.
All the staff and volunteers at the Derby Arena are a real credit to our city.
Well done to them all, truly appreciated for the fantastic job they're doing.
D. W.
Very clean and modern place
D. M.
Went for our Covid jabs at the Derby Arena.
Excellent staff, friendly, efficient & highly professional.
Safe environment & painless jab with no side effects.
S. T.
Our go to new year's eve pantomime. Relaxed and hilarious.
J.
Visited for my graduation. Easy access with taxis and buses. Very beautiful architectural design. Was fun all round. Highly recommended to visit if you're ever in Derby.
S.
Great free parking for the gym, even on match days. The changing rooms and gym are very clean. The actual gym is about medium sized and can get quite busy in the evenings (5-7pm). However the environment is nice to do a workout, the staff do clean the equipment often- the only downside is that it can be very cold in the gym.
S. M.
I went here for my 2nd covid jab. It was clean, everyone was socially distanced. The staff provided hand sanitiser at several points
M. T.
Went to see Peter pan xmas pantomime with my wife and 2 younger children. Pantomime was excellent and the kids and us older ones thoroughly enjoyed it. In terms of the venue it was fairly well organised. The only downside with places that have a captive audience is the price for food and drinks. The service at the interval was extremely slow mainly due to an indecisive theatre goer who couldn't decide whether to have peanut m and m's or skittles🤦♂️overall a good show with nice facilities and plenty of parking 👍
M. T.
I visited for second covid injection so, not a pleasure trip... big thanks to all the volunteers tho who are doing an amazing job there
T. L.
My husband and I had a track cycling taster session and loved it. It was amazing to ride like a pro and get to experience the thrill of cycling down the banking at high speed. It is scary, but well worth doing.
The facilities at Derby Arena are superb. Very clean and new.
T.
Had our second jab and just like the first time the staff were amazing with my daughter who has LD - thank you!
D. B.
It might not have the kudos of London or Manchester but the sessions are more fun and that's what really matters.
M. R. J.
Stunningly efficient and streamlined Covid-19 mass vaccination Centre.
My personal experience - superb!
Thank you.
S. M.
We had a great time watching Jack and the beanstalk, but the food before was expensive £6 for a small burger and a basket of fries with a little salad, also sweet pots £3.50 each the size of a can of pop! Otherwise we had a great time, panto was Brill!!!!
T. T.
Good parking facilities next to arena and only £5 to park . Great view of stage where ever you sit. Just a little slow at serving drinks but bar is open through performance which is a little quieter
R. L.
Good gym, moderately quiet. Seems like they're trying for the world record for slowest drinking fountain though. It's also far from cheap considering the size of the gym and the opening hours. Strangely stiff atmosphere too, feels quite uninviting.
R. P.
Good enough venue, the old velodrome. Unfortunately the sound failed in the upper part during a Killer Queen concert leading to a 40 minute wait for the rest of the concert! Saved by the talent of the band really, who responded by playing more songs than they were due to.
G. J.
A great venue to see Rhod Gilbert. The staff were very helpful and the amenities easy to get to. Parking on site was also reasonable but you do need to get there early to guarantee a space.
D. P.
I had my covid vaccination here. Very well arranged, good volunteer support beautiful building.
J. G.
Nice venue for a comedy gig, plenty of parking getting in and out took a while but it does keep moving.
K. S.
Well what to say this place is great if your having your covid jab it's a bit cattle run but all the staff are very helpful and willing to help people who need it so that's a good thing in eyes 👍
L. j.
Had my second covid vaccine. Been with husband also. Very well organised. Extremely helpful volunteers.
S. F.
Went to see Jimmy Carr live. Acoustically the place works well but the seating arrangements aren't ideal due to the long but narrow floor area and there's very little chance of getting a drink at the interval unless you get up early or are seated near the bar due to the bar size and staffing levels.
C. M.
I use the gym here on weekday mornings and some afternoons. The facilities are good quality and clean. There is plenty of equipment so that even at peak times there is enough to use. Parking is free for gym users and the facility is usually fairly quiet.
A. S.
A visit for my covid vaccination today. An absolutely professional experience and so well looked after from in to out.
Thanks all for looking after me today.
A. A.
The reception is fantastic, the environment wow and above all services are impeccable
S. P.
Great facility to go track cycling. Friendly coaches, go for accreditation or just to learn and have fun!
I. F.
Beautiful building with amazing helpful staff. The track is elevated with a sports hall below, which can make it noisy. But it's part of the fun.
Sometimes catching the view of someone practicing a martial art on the floor below can be a bit disconcerting, but that only means you're not trying hard enough!
a. m.
Went for covid 19 jab here. Extremely well thought out. Simple to get to. Plenty of parking. Attendants are very helpful.
S. X.
Comfortable seats, bar, cafe, decent hot & cold food. Clean facilities.
a. r.
Had COVID-19 vaccination today.that was great experience.really friendly staff well organised from car park to inside
5 stars for team who are working on front line
G. H.
The arena is a sight to see, I went for my vaccine but the arena itself is spotless, such a clean and vibrant place, staff were helpful and happy
M. P.
Best covid vaccine I've ever had!! Five stars!! Rod Stewart gets his vaccines there!!
J. F.
Been for second covid jab. As usual absolute efficiency by all concerned. From the folks on the carpark, and those in the arena directing, and those doing the jabs. Absolutely brilliant. THANK YOU
S. Q.
Went for my second covid jab. Great organisation with caring people. Lovely experience and very pleased to have the jab(s).
4. 5.
Went for my covid jab and the arena is a perfect location for it. Well set up and well organised. The building itself is lovely and modern
G. t.
Went 4 my second jab yesterday and the set up is brilliant and so quick......good work guys can't fault ya good job.....👍👍👍👍
S. L.
Went for my first covid 19 jab on Saturday everything went smoothly. We are very lucky in Derby to have such a multi usage venue.
C. T.
Had a great time at the Revolution Series cycling event, the place was packed out and the atmosphere was excellent. Since then our cycling club have got on the track ourselves and we are working towards acreditation. The coaches are excellent and we are all really enjoying the experience.
H. C.
Today I've been for my Covid vaccine, everything was so organised inside the arena, everyone explained everything to you from checking in, and too having your vaccine thank you. 👍
A. N.
Went to the arena with low expectations to see the pantomime. After a disappointing visit to the assembly rooms a couple of years ago we vouwed not to bother with the Derby panto again. However what a great evening's entertainment we had. The seating and view of the stage was really good, great staff and facilities. As for the cast, wow, what a great show they put on. All the slapstick comedy you would expect of a traditional pantomime, they had the audience laughing and booing all the way through, I think the kids enjoyed it as well. We will definitely look at going again this year.
G. T.
Not a great place for a gig. It's a velodrome so it's completely the wrong shape. Car park is impossible to get out of when 2000 people are all wanting to leave. 10/10 for trying! John Bishop was amazing though!
R. H. H.
Had my covid-19 vaccine here, very well organized, a credit to everyone working or giving their time there.
v. J.
Good parking, well staffed and covid protcol in place. Very well organised great show
C. B.
Derby arena/velodrome has certainly proved to be worth its existence as it is now being used as a covid vaccination centre, the system in place is excellent. Well done Derby 👍and of course the NHS and all those involved in this complex operation.
N. P.
Superb! Incredible service and roll out of the vaccine. Professional, efficient and helpful. Par excellence.
G. S.
Went for my 2nd covid jab. Fantastic organisation, I was longer in the resting area before I could drive home. 09:30 is a prime booking time
P. K.
Great venue and staff very helpful
B. A.
Nice place, We had hired the location for a Volley ball match. Staff are polite and friendly. All facilities are well taken care off and arrangements done before we arrived. Thank you
A. A.
The badminton courts, whilst having exceptional friction, are slightly lacking in the variety of colour required for adequate perception of the shuttle, white court lines, white netting and white lights so if plastic shuttles are being used, I would recommend a contrasting colour, if feather, tough luck. Despite this however, I would commend the building as a whole and a thoughly enjoyable experience.
L. B.
I was really surprised at how easy it was to just turn up and ride the velodrome with no experience. Did a taster session and got free reign on the track after only 30 minutes build up. I would highly recommend. I was sooo much fun
J. S.
Went to panto for 2nd year
Great place never been to any other events here.
Needs some improvement in organisation for this event facilities like toilets a little poorly marked. but was not able to look around that much due to mature of the event and its location in the arena.
Not seen full facilities so hard to comment of the arena.
Check out others rating before making up your own mind is all I can say.
Enjoyed my visit and the panto will go again most definitely
Maybe even visit for other event to see what they do offer here.
WELL WORTH A VISIT
GO SEE FOR YOU SELF AT EVENTS OF YOUR CHOICE.
M. B.
Not a very well lit carpark. The volunteers did there best. Glad I'm going for my vaccine in the daylight.
T. F.
Went for a 2 hour session and lesson on the velodrome and had a great time. The instructors were friendly and informative amd made sure thatbour large group had a good time. Definitely would come back!
M. L.
Great looking place. Helpful staff
Awesome gig - Brian Cox. Only Downside was 3500 people trying to leave the car park through a solitary single lane exit!
T. B.
Clean, welcoming, velodrome is great even the toilets are great
J. C.
All depends what you want. Jack of all trades, master of none.
Cycling event I attended was excellent entertainment but the display screen was very poor and audio was terrible. Catering was well below part for such an important event.
Great gym facilities.
Court games can have issues - like badminton: the main lights blind you when going for a shot!
Excellent public Wi-Fi.
M. G.
Gym is very modern and bright with staff normally on hand if you're unsure of how to use any of the equipment. Changing facilities are very clean. All staff are friendly and helpful.
m. L.
Visited today for my partner to have her second covid jab staff are very helpful very professional social distancing in place all staff have face coverings
i. 8.

Events manager very kindly found seat where I could put my recently operated foot up. Coincidentally my surgeon was at the same event and was impressed by the concern shown.

We tried the family taster session at the velodrome and had a great time. We recieved a short introduction, covering the basics about the bike and track use, aswell as the necessary safety instruction, then straight on the track which covered most of the hour. The instructor was friendly and helpful and managed a mixed ability group really well, gradually increasing the difficulty as we gained confidence. A good price at £31 for 1hr for 2 children and an adult, with the price including bike, shoes and helmet hire. Would definitely recommend :-).

Nice gym, can watch the cyclists as you work out! And/or watch YouTube😂 lively place and nice staff. The cafe a bit pricey, bottle of water £1.60 ✋

Good place, only went there for a graduation ceremony.
Ample parking and easy to get to.

In and out for vaccine jab in 30 minutes. Very well done to all the volunteers. Thank you

I play badminton here every other week with my daughter it's a good facility but rather noisy as while we are there the cycle track has a petrol moped going round as a pace setter for the bikes... I often leave with a headache! This might only be on the nights we visit.

Came for my first dose of vaccine
Quite quick
Not that busy great 8/10

Visited here to see a tribute band Killer Queen, the first 30 minutes of the concert was terrible, it was like listening to a venue a mile away. They had to stop the show and restart it 1 hour later. Ended up being a night in the end.
M. C.
Went here for covid jabs. Lots of helpful staff & lovely big arena. Can't wait to visit properly when covid is over.
S. W.
Excellent use of space for the COVID vaccinations. A very slick operation from start to finish.

Fabulous panto with my son, grand daughter and husband. So professional, such topical jokes, expert adlibbing and interaction with the audience. The best panto we've ever been to. The dame, Morgan Brind is a star!! Smashing Venu, helpful staff, good all round vision and facilities, plus the add-ons weren't stupid prices, so all good. Looking forward to next year's!!

Being used as a Covid inoculation centre, very well run and operated. Well done and thankyou to the NHS team.
S. H.
Great parking. Upper seated are not great - obstructed view, too far away from the performer. Building design - being used for a different purpose - originally a velodrome.
J. B.
I ride my bike here and the staff are really nice you will have no problems learning how to ride the track and it has a good cafe. I would really recommend coming if you are fond of cycling especially if you ride in a club
J. R.
Large, well maintained sports venue which is also used for concerts and comedy shows. Well equipped gym and certified velodrome track.
The track is raised above the infield which means other sports can continue even when the track is in use. However the temperature is high and the humidity too low (40%) (for the benefit of the wooden track) to play badminton to a high level for too long.
It strikes me that the sports infield could be used more as it often feels a bit empty but otherwise good.
B. D.
Went for my covid test there is was well set out a excellent place. Staff were really polite and helpful
D. V.
Went for second covid jab. Really nice place. Well run and everyone very polite and helpful

B. E.
We've been three times to see shows, not cycling. There's an issue with accessibility when shows are on. For some reason the main entrance is closed and everyone has to enter through a side entrance. This involves creating a zig-zag queuing route using metal fencing. The accessibility issue is created as the queuing route covers the disabled parking areas which are put out of use. So I've had to wheel my partner from further away. The last occasion we had to park quite a way from this side entrance and had to navigate pavements that didn't have drop-kerbs. My partner had to get out of his chair so we could get up on the pavements. All very poorly thought out and needs to be improved.

Ride round in circles in the velodrome. It's more fun than it sounds!
