Nice Northern League football ground , set out of the way down a country lane. Bar and food on matchdays.

The best northern league ground that I've been to. And I've been to most. The service, the views, the experience is second to none. It gets a low attendance because it's quite far away from most things but it deserves so much more.

A nice friendly place to meet old friends and new ones

Oh I love Esh Winning, it really is one of the gems of the Northern Football League. I've paid a couple of visits to watch the football club I follow Heaton Stannington play there and Esh is one of the finest places you could wish to watch a game of football. There may well be clubs in the Northern League with better facilities but on terms of the scenery there is nowhere better to watch a match. If you catch it on a sunny day, take a seat in one of the pods at the top of the embankment and enjoy the match and the view over to the forest. A beautiful ground that everyone needs to visit at least once in their lifetime.
