I joined ALC in January & mainly do the Fitness classes, 3, 4 or 5 times a week. The whole building is in desparate need of updating (apart from the stone plaque that states when the original Swimming Baths opened, over 100 years ago. Depending on the time of day & who is on Reception; the Staff can be extremely rude, dismissive & incompetent. I've seen them do it AND it has been directed at me, when I initially joined. Not overly expensive, so I get what I pay for BUt the Staff need retraining & the website could do with being updated.

I bring my daughter here for swimming lessons. She is progressing well and the lessons are good value compared to many other places. Only thing is it could be a bit cleaner

Highly recommend for swimming. My autistic son has improved in leaps and bounds! Very patient and understanding of his needs. His swim instructor's name is Hamda, she's a real gem. Claire Woolaston the swimming coordinator is ever so helpful.

Claudia is the best swim teacher, shame they charge £10 for a failed direct debit when your bank charges you aswel 🙄 that's 2 weeks swimming lessons paid for by the leisure centres charge!! Without the banks!!

this place is amazing ! I went here for swimming lessons . The staff are kind . Would definitely recommend this place for any swimming lessons for children or adults .

The leisure centre is clean and has plenty of onsite parking including disabled parking. The centre offers swimming for adults and children including swimming lessons. There is also a well-equipped gym with free weights, cardio machines and cable machines. There is also a bodyweight section. There are sports halls with badminton and tennis courts. All facilities have changing rooms for both genders. The staff are very friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. There is more information on the website which can be a bit tricky to navigate but this does not reflect on the centre.

Pool is generally clean, swim teachers Michael and Amanda are exceptional and would highly recommend them. My son was scared of getting in the pool and after a few lessons with Michael not only could he swim comfortably but he also enjoys to swim. Keep it up Michael! I also think the life guards really care about the safety of swimmers. The changing facilities are slightly dated so hope they improve that soon.

Nice local leisure centre with a good variety of facilities. Only thing that lets it down is the swimming area. Changing area needs updating and there is only 1 large private baby changing cubicle, difficult if you have a family and not confident changing openly! The pool area also needs a good clean, rusty and mouldy on metal facilities around edge of pool.

Good facilities the pool is OK for a public one. Fitness suite is OK with most equipment available though some is quite old. Membership cost is high but it does include classes and access to all other centres in the Leicester area.

Good place but quite old fashioned, need some work done. Swimming lessons are great, the teachers are amazing. There is a library and a gym, different things to do too

Poor telephone service, can sit there being no1 in the queue for 15 minutes and more and it's a regular occurrence. Swimming changing area is very poor and dated. Floors are really dirty, showers are just a row with no curtains for privacy. Very common to find boys as old as 13 and 14 in the women's changing rooms with their Asian mothers, who won't accept they are too old for that section and should be in the mens side. Changing cubicles are few and just have a thin plastic curtain for privacy. Gym is dated upstairs and cycle seats are taped up with tape as vinyl has split. Basically needs a revamp

Learn to swim place, the best for both kids and adults! I learnt to swim there few years ago! Good swim instructors! ☆☆☆☆☆ there is a gym and library and all sorts there! Give it a visit to learn what you can do! I've heard people sing gospel songs there too - indication of some type of worship there!!!!

To much urine in the swimming pool water, place desperately need upgrading. The amount of money they charges should be used in upgrading

Good Swimming facility.... Enjoy going to Aqua. The gym is good. Staff on reception could be more helpful and less miserable. If you want anything done there i.e book classes etc it's better to do it yourself online or over the phone.

Great to have this in the community, fitness and exercise is very important to me especially so i know my children are leading a healthy lifestyle, so i feel very lucky to have a leisure center with so much to offer right on my doorstep. Extra bonus that our library is also here.

Still rough and dire as I remember. Leicester City Council needs to take more care of its Leisure facilities, they are an important community asset at gateways for fitness and health for those people who don't want to join wanky gyms
