Reviews of Bacon's Community Sports Centre

Was not easy to find but it was in a good location, I was trying out a day gym pass that why I visited the centre. The gym is nice and private not many people where in the gym but I did enjoy the workout.

Cheap place to rent a sports hall. We have used it some years now for our weekly training. The showers barely makes you wet, alternatively spreads the water too much, so you are better off showering at home. About 10 -15 min walk from tube station.

As football pitches go, the astro is of good quality, you get great value for money and the changing rooms are decent. We had a good experience and I'd recommend for anyone needing an eleven-a-side pitch to play on.

Good facilities and customer service.

** This review is only about the gym **
It's tiny but has everything I need.
There's 2 floors: lower floor has a lot of dumbbells/barbells and a couple of benches, step, a few machines (pull-up assist, double pulley, leg press, shoulder pull down), a resistance band for physio (important for me because I'm doing ankle rehabilitation); upper floor has treadmills, bikes, rowing machines. It has AC/heating on both floors, and a little radio to keep you company.
It's open when the college is closed, from 6pm till 10pm and weekends all day till 7pm. You can purchase the passes on 'pay as u gym' website for £20 per month.
A bonus star is awarded because it's exactly in front of where I live, and it's always empty, meaning that I can go and quietly do my 1.5hrs of exercise after work as I would do in my living room, but way more effectively.
Problems are: some of the upper floor machines have been broken for a solid 3 months (when I joined I was told they'd be replaced the day after); gym is usually left in a really messy state by other customers and you have to run up and down the stairs to retrieve items (it's really not that difficult to tidy up such a tiny place!); there is a serious lack of mats and the ones that are there are dirty and broken; it's quite dirty :D
Staff are friendly, and it's a really convenient little place if you're looking for solitary/quiet and consistent work out.

We have been doing our American Football practice here every week and so far I have no negatives to mention. The place is just great. Maybe I can mention, that we are still looking for a place to store our equipment every week but I think this problem is getting solved.

Has decent variety of sports facilities available for public booking. However, one of the multi-purpose hall which is used for volleyball could do with better flooring.

The facilities were good, however the pitches were not top quality

Nice, there are changing rooms and nice lay out pitches. Great for tournaments and matches

(Lately it's been practically impossible to book: nobody answers the phone or replies to emails unfortunately, and there's no online booking system)
Excellent sports centre otherwise: badminton, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, cricket facilities.
