G. R.The pool is a good temperature and there are usually four lanes set out when I visit. The layout is good and there are enough lockers. I wish that there were more lane swimming sessions available in the late afternoon, even if it was only one or two lanes. The changing area floors could be cleaner as well.

S. H.Awesome indoor pool. 25m long, set up as 3 lanes when I was there (maybe 4), divided into speeds. They’re the most Covid-safe place I’ve been to, with a one-way system throughout, lots of areas roped off, and strict rules for shower-use, exiting the building, etc. But great facilities, and will be back 👌

J. M.Local leisure centre, all you need in one place. Good prices, different flexible times. No free parking. Be aware, as fines are very common in Clapham manor Road. Family oriented, friendly multilingual staff. Kind and understanding staff. Disabled arangements even for the pool, senior and Universal credit discount no tax credits discount option on the website. 5 min walking distance Clapham High Street.
V. N.My go-to pool before work. I like that the lockers and changing cabins are next to the water meaning a quick escape. If swimming early in the morning, consider that two lanes are always occupied by a training session from 06:30 onwards. This can prove challenging if other swimmers are not lane 'friendly'. Still, a lovely pool.

E. P.Its great at Better is a social enterprise, it has a 25m swimming pool which is a huge plus and it always feels clean. It offers lots of classes - particularly yoga and pilates which I love and unusual ones like ballet fit which is very good too. The gym is also a very good size which means less queuing for equipment! Great location, easy app and friendly staff.
H. H.Come here to swim. Price is decent and facilities good. It's a 25m pool with lanes split by speed and staff have always been friendly. Bike parking out the front. Can't speak for the gym as I haven't used it but good choice for swimmers
B. G.The gym is acceptable, there are a number of machines and weights. Most issues I have are due to other people in the gym not putting weights away or cleaning up after themselves which is to be expected for a gym at this cost in the area.
Staff will be there if you need them but they aren't particularly welcoming. On every occasion I've visited even during very quiet times all the top half lockers are occupied which leads me to believe the staff use them.
The swimming pool is fairly decent although the changing rooms and showers don't feel very clean, there is the faint smell of urine and chlorine which is off-putting. The lack of a sauna and steam room is disappointing as other Better centres in the local area have them.
Overall, the leisure centre is quite average. It serves its purpose but doesn't go out of the way to make your stay a pleasurable one.
c. l.Staff was really friendly, gym, swimming pool are good but due to the coronavirus rules, there are some changes (ie. 3 lanes available for swimming, 1 beginners, 2 intermediate, 3 advance).
You can't use it during swimming lessons (from around 3pm to 6pm).
L. B.Excellent, it's clean and the staff is nice. Plenty of space to swim, the current booking system makes it very efficient.
J. M.Best pool in the area by far. Changing rooms and lockers are poolside and unisex, so no need to split up or have to walk a great distance to get to or from the pool. Lockers take £1 coins, which are returned when you open them again. Clean, bright and new with staff that are friendly.
N. I.Pool is ok. Changing area can be a hit and miss - it's cleaner some days than the other. A few baby changing tables are available. (They offer good infant swimming classes too.) Staff has been always friendly and helpful.
R. X.Hard to get through to membership team, (phone) but when you do they're very helpful. I love the gym although stuffy at times. Air con isn't powerful. It'll be great if you felt gym staff were approachable to answer questions on equipment. Great equipment, I always have a good work out. Busy in the evenings, which is expected.

S. 4.Really nice swimming pool. Best in South London. Water goes over the edge and looks nice, also very warm water in showers.

l. f. t. l.I think it was quite decent for the amount of money me an my daughter paid for swimming ruffly £6.00, although the toilet area wasn't 100% clean but there was a lot of children and adults at the time. I believe everyone should at least clean up after themselves. You can't expect staff to clean up after everyone every minute of the day!!!
E.I was brought along to Clapham leisure centre by my friend with a guest pass. I am a member of virgin active in Streatham, so decided to try out another branch to benchmark the club's. Clapham was good, spacious and the staff was friendly. I did not have to wait for any machines. Changing rooms were clean.

K. S.Very nice leisure centre. I only really use it for swimming however definatly has gym facilities. Quite basic. 2 pools. One large standard size pool and a smaller heated one for non swimmers, very shallow.
Staff are very nice. Only downside would be no flumes or wave machines.

Downsides:
- Despite the recent extension, the place is still very busy most times.
- Some equipment is in serious need of TLC.
- Cleanliness could be improved.
- The "check-in" system that distribute wristbands is ridiculous (and often broken).
M.Went for a swim, pool is too cold. Apparently GLL have dropped temp due to rise in Utility costs...honestly I would prefer a warmer pool and a revised membership cost than swim in a cold pool with my joint problems. Pool seemed to be going green from around the middle to he deep end( very slippy). Showers were cold too( apparently waiting for a part) they have been cold for over a month now.
The Gym was clean, inviting and staff were friendly. Whole building is very Covid safe and staff are very approachable and friendly.
I did witness one staff member talking disrespectful to another member of staff which was a shame to see.
All in all an ok visit, shame about how run down the poolside is becoming and the mannerisms of the staff member to another.
a. u.All in all a good local gym, quite clean facilities. The reception is very slow and rude, I wonder why there is no management to rectify this. Equipment also breaks down frequently and they're very slow to fix things up, such as hand dryer and water fountain.
S. H.not enough toilets. toilets are often dirty, broken or without toilet paper. The showers near the swimming pool.also need updating with more water pressure. the staff are generally very helpful.

D. I.I don't think that it's filthy. The staff make a big effort in asking you to remove footwear quite early on.
My main issue lies around how busy the pool can be. Over the past four visits, the pool is split into four lanes, two of which are often in use prior to 8:30pm. This leaves one beginner lane and one, apparent, professional lane. The lanes themselves are quite thin as well so whilst swimming its not uncommon to have someones flailing arm or leg strike you.
The staff should do a much better job of informing you of this prior to entry. Quite annoying to pay and then not enjoy your session. Would prefer a friendly word and opt to return an hour later.
N. M.OK place. Good staff. Parents tend to put small kiddies in the adult pool though. So the kids pool is easy, pay while the adult pool is swamped by the under 5s and almost unusable for swimming lengths

C. V.Great swimming pool. Facilities are clean and no restrictions on using the general pool. 50 minute slots are available. And these need to be booked via the website. You need to bring your own swimming equipment ie floats and arm bands. There are approximately 3/4 lifeguards available. They washdown the changing room floors every 50 minutes. Overall my most favourable Better gyms that I have been to and frequent.

S. S. (.Surprising facility that has managed to cram quite a lot in for its size, still appears fairly new inside & is kept very clean. Shame the indoor court doesn’t have overlooking observer seating. The music played in the foyer/waiting area is in keeping to the south London stereotype, but this doesn’t seem to put off the office workers who flock in to work out in the window till closing.
No free parking unless disabled.. it’s pay and display on the street which ends 6.30pm.

R. B.Been doing lessons for my kids for about 4 years now. Tge pools are ok and teaching pool is a nice temperature. Changing rooms are seriously unclean and tiles are stained a nasty browb. Showers have no power and seem to be clogged with limescale. Some reception staff and guards are pleasant and the rest have an attitude and can be plain rude. Our lesson is usually one of the last and cleaners can decide to lock your belongings in room or splash water in an attempt to begin to clean.
Some great Swimming teachers but a couple who just stand about chatting during a lesson. Some teachers refusing to get into the pool when children are in desperate need to be taught properly to muster a technique. Assessment not updated accpaccordi by some. And an echo from other users...don't bother calling..no one picks up!
No parking till after 8:30...6:30 on road further away. But can walk from Sainsbury's car park.
