Sunday afternoon, blissfully quiet! Excellent equipment, all brand new. The whole gym floor was clean and there was a visible, active gym instructor. There is limited floor space for stretching and I thought the toilets not being in a separate area in the changing room was a bit odd. Pool looked clean and inviting. I'm a member so I didn't interact with reception as I just scanned myself in, which was easy enough.

My daughters have learned a lot during this time in swimming, I'm extremely happy with their teacher, Adam. The place is clean, it has all facilities to wash and dry after the swimming lessons. It looks like the water is a bit cold.

I used to go to swimming classes (for children to teens) here and the instructors were great! Though the place itself was not the cleanest; you could find all sorts of rubbish on the floors or even at the bottom of, usually, the kids pool. Also there are still not enough showers for especially busy days so you may be forced to stand around a while.

Excellent gym, good, friendly service. The only drawback is the limited number of classes of Yoga, zumba and spin after 5.30 pm. Therefore it is difficult to take advantage of the classes on offer if you work full time 9-5 pm! Perhaps, the management can re-think the timetable of the classes on offer.

The manager with red hair took good charge today and he did well to maintain safety at all times. We really appreciate the effort being made to manage kids swim lessons during covid. I'd recommend that at end of class, staff 'holler' seated parents to the right side of the pool to collect and dress kids. When these teething issues are sorted we'll hopefully have a whole and smooth lesson. :)

I have joined the Better Gym in Finchley Lido Leisure Centre less than two weeks, and I found out abou the salsa workout class with Nelson Joaquim, it has been the best workout i I've ever had in my life, sadly it's only on fridays, could you please make it so there's a class every day, I'm willing to pay any amount it costs to have more salsa fitness classes, i would be so grateful if you could do this.

Hot showers.. but pretty dirty. A fair bit of dirt floating around in the water. What looked like Mould around the pool tiles. Life guards are strict. Lots of free parking and plenty to choose from to eat after swimming. Great size changing rooms including family size.

Once you've finished your swim, gym, etc, there are several foods outlets available right outside too which makes this place a great day out for everyone.

At the moment, can only swim within 3 lanes, a slow, medium and fast lane. Only one private shower though, two public showers and three changing rooms. But there werent that many people (around 8/8.30pm) so wasnt too concerned with people waiting/standing too close, to use the showers/changing rooms. Also they had a one way system, in and out of the pool, to keep things covid safe.

There is a main pool a kids pool with wave machine and a outside pool. I have been going to this pool for over 20yrs and with a hot summer and the wave machine going and a mass of children enjoying themselves this place is a gem. Out door pool is only opened during the summer. Also has a gym and studio. There is a fantastic mural painting of the sea on one wall and glad to say after the lock down it still looks good. Slightly tired and nice to have more outside views but it serves the local community well.

Complicated opening times I really enjoy swimming hit the pool facilities on excellent as are the changing facilities and most of the staff are polite and attentive but that establishment doesn't seem to have any idea when they open and close and that can become quite complicated when you arrive late in the afternoon I do recommend this place but check carefully before you actually get there especially if you've got kids as they could be disappointed

I have been going to this pool for over 20 years and to the gym for about 5 years. The gym is modern, clean and the staff is friendly and competent. However, the pool area (showers, lockers, floor cleanliness) leave a lot to be desired as regards hygiene, too few hairdryers - frequently out of order). Swimmers should be made to wear caps in the water. People are asked to wear overshoes around the poolside but most people don't. There are rules, but they are not enforced. Staff, including most swimming teachers, are friendly and competent. A general update (with pool closure, though gym will be open) is due in March/April 2019 which may improve things.

A pool with a wave machine and rapids and a shallow area for little children and also a deeper pool wth no waves where you can just splash and swim about. There aren't very many showers, the changing rooms are dim and wet and the toilets are small. The hairdryer doesn't work very well but the lockers are fine. I haven't been to the gym upstairs so I can't say much about that. Generally a nice place to go for a swim.

A good gym BUT forever equipment is out of order for extended periods, lack of communication between instructors and the customer service team, messages about cancelled classes often not delivered to gym members. Lack of classes themselves. More choice of popular classes would prevent over crowding. The pool is quite gross. I haven't been swimming for quite some time as the last time I went a man was blowing his nose in the pool. They also tell you off for swimming in the slow lane when you should be in the fast lane even when there's no other swimmers in it. But blowing your nose and contaminating the pool is OK. Staff generally very helpful when they can be. But you often have to wait in a long queue while two people serve one customer. Meanwhile your late for your class that's about to start. I'm still a member here as it's my closest gym and has decent parking for when I need to drive. But my suggestions would be more classes, and longer weekend opening hours. 5:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays is not long enough.

The gym is OK however it is in the process of being upgraded and expanded so expecting big improvements. The swimming area and changing rooms are always dirty and smells pretty bad which often puts me off from wanting to use this facility, it definitely needs work! The receptionists here are normally half asleep and dont really no much about anything in this gym, they also need to smile more and be more welcoming.

This is actually a really good gym in my opinion. I've been to more expensive gyms, often double the price and I find that the people are too up themselves. At least with the council gyms, people aren't afraid to make eye contact or have a light conversation. It has had a recent renovation made to the upstairs gym area, almost doubling its size, with new machines and a separate cycle room. Certainly an improvement to what was already a decent sized gym. The only downside the centre is the pool, which is often quite dirty, with the changing rooms worst affected. Also, there are days when the pool is part closed due to classes or closed to allow for male or female only days/periods. Always check the pool timetable before you go to avoid disappointment. Weekends are always overcrowded (including the gym) too.

I am only reviewing the pool as it’s the only part of the centre I visit. Staff are friendly, professional and courteous. The amazing thing about this pool is their Achievement in serving the Jewish community nearby by working over-hours to make sure that the orthodox community can enjoy some leisure while holding on to traditions. Check pool calendar on the website for exact timetable. I hope other centres around the country learn from it and make sure to get involved with communities and their needs!

The wave machine in the small "leisure pool" is fun for kids. I found it a bit too crowded though (and this was just a Sunday morning in January), and the changing rooms were cramped and grotty. The layout is odd in that immediately after the desk where you pay you're into the pool area - so inevitably some people miss the sign about wearing overshoes. I regret not having brought sandals as I doubt the floor was very clean. Why does stuff like this for kids always have to end up being so overcrowded and down-market?

Strange changing room layout. Great pools and features. Lido is great for summer, with a grassy area to lounge by. Was very busy when I went but was still able to use all the pools. Get there early if you go on hot days otherwise the queue will be diabolical!

Pool is fine. Good for kids. The lockers need updating. Half of them the money gets stuck due to the new £ coins. They also have lots of schools in. During the day which is not on the website. Meaning everyone has to cram into 3 lanes. And it gets quite busy. Parking is great. Staff for friendly enough. No issues here.

Great outdoor pool but you have to come early in order to get in. Also be aware of the 4 hours limit for parking. I always came with my family to Great North for eating,swimming etc ... and it was always free parking. Never looked at the hidden sign next to Pizza Hut for parking restrictions. The sign should be more visible on the pavement at the entrance so clients are aware of what to expect.

The lido is simply wonderful on a hot day. I took my three-year-old son and he had so much fun splashing about in the outdoor baby pool. And there is no better way to cool down and actually enjoy the scorching heat! There are other lidos nearer to us in London, but what makes Finchley so convenient is that there is lots of free parking directly outside and, once you've done swimming, there are several restaurants opposite the lido, including a McDonald's and an Ask Italian. Finchley Lido also has two indoor pools, a big one and a baby one, to complement the outdoor pools. There are lawns to sunbathe on, but that's not my thing. The changing facilities were perfectly reasonable. I'm not sure what some of the previous reviewers were expecting when they complained about their condition. Perhaps they were expecting a palace. If, however, you've lived in the real world, I assure you that you will have seen far worse changing rooms. As for miserable staff, the woman on the desk was perhaps on the surly side, but the lifeguards were perfectly friendly. And, honesty, who cares? This is London. If you want tedious bonhomie from people you're unlikely to see again, move to Devon! All in all, it's well worth a jaunt on the North Circular. Ans, if you live nearby, then what are you waiting for?

I just like the waves and the paintings on the wall. I used to go there when I was really young with my mum and it was the best thing ever when I got there. I like the food bit, outside pool, inside with the shower things in the pool and the really nice painting and the Jacuzzi too. The changing rooms and the staff aren't THAT great but I kinda think the ups are better than the downs

If you want to work out, this Gym has it all. I don't understand negative reviews - if you want to get fit, a gym's a gym! It is cheap and cheerful. If you have the desire, you will work out wherever. Machines are all good and there's enough of them for a full work out. People who go there are super, chilled and dedicated. The gym is relatively small and not fancy but, it has everything needed. Come ready to work out and shower at home.

The gym recently had an extension added to it, so there's more space for the weights.I also love the new equipment and the spin area that was added. Im not giving it 5 stars only because there are no women's-only swimming sessions during off-peak times. There is only one session on Thursdays at 7pm (peak-time), but still, the pool is overlooked from the studio and gym area above. Would be great if shades can be installed for privacy. Im hoping this could seriously be looked at.

The female toilet facilities have been upgraded and they are excellent. I never could shower at the gym but now i look forward to it. As for the classes - Wow! I've been to many other gym but there are some pretty good classes here which are run by excellent instructors.

I went there with my 3 years old daughter and we had a nice time however I find the little kids pool very small and the water a bit cold. In my opinion a children's pool should have a water temperature close to the human's body temperature but unfortunately most swimming pools don't. Kids should feel relaxed and warm in a indoor swimming pool not feel cold ..

Gym is more enjoyable and changing rooms far nicer since they removed the upstairs office and expanded the changing rooms so they now have shower cubicles rather than a communal shower. Just pity they couldn't do the same downstairs so could shower properly after a swim, obviously splitting the showers by gender. Not surprising that quite a few swimmers changing upstairs.

A decent local swimming pool that is really starting to show its age. Could do with a good bit of refurbishment but has a nice pool which occasionally they switch on the wave pool. Great for families with ample amount of lockers and changing facilities. Also. No mobile phones allowed which is great !

Large swimming pool, on Sundays it is open for males only between 16:30 and 18:00 for leisure swimming. There is a big space for play area and another few lanes for serious swimming. There is also a side pool with a wave machine. There is plenty of parking on site. Barnet residents living on benefits, get a big discount when they apply for membership.

Having just had a bad recent experience at my local pool with hazardously high chlorine levels and incompetent lifeguards, 😱 I decided to check out Finchley Lido. I had a lovely experience 🏊mainly because I found the pool temperature and chlorine levels were perfect, I mean spot on! 👌 I was also pleased to see alot of helpful friendly staff and proper lifeguards at work. 🤔 There was a nice family, busy vibe with continuous children's swimming lessons that never curtail the serious swimmers sessions because; all sessions coexist in the six different lanes in the very wide Pool! Any other children who are not having lessons, are in the children's wave pool 😉 BiNGO, perfect everyone in catered for simultaneously 😎 All this made up for the surprisingly rather limited & basic changing/ shower area, tiny ancient lockers and shabby asthestics!!

Indoor pool OK - 25m approx long and clean enough. Separate kids pool with waves popular. Small outdoor pool in summer with grassy area. Gym upstairs. Refurbished in 2020.
