Reviews of Flanders Playing Fields
I run Newham Cricket Club youth section. We are a volunteer run club, and have been based at Flanders for 13 years, growing quickly to the point where the 2 excellently maintained ( by Bonnydowns(BDCA))cricket squares are not sufficient for the demand. There are no other options in Newham though..
Council please note!
Pitches are good and well looked after. Changing rooms were accessible, clean and showers were hot. Staff allowed us to lock these whilst the mtch was going on. Parking onsite for free albeit it is very small.
Great little sports field in an unexpected place, tucked away behind terraces of houses.
I didn’t get inside the Bobby Moore pavilion, but it looked very comfortable.
The outdoor facilities are excellent — good grass football and all weather pitches.
N.B. probably easiest to arrive by public transport, if you can — there is a (small) car park on-site, but the local roads looked to be mostly resident-only parking.
Good playing fields I used to come here for sports days in primary and secondary school it's a pleasant place
Pitch is really decent and there is a club house where we can get coffee etc
Excellent facilities for the price in comparison to other local centres. Floodlit 6 a side astro turf pitch enclosed in fenced area. 3 seperate cricket nets. Grass Football pitches. Cricket pitches. Good sized car park. Disabled parking spaces with accessible entrance. Pavilion with lounge, pool table, cafe & changing rooms with toilets & showers. Booking is simple and the place is a part of Bonny Downs Community Association. The place is very well managed.
There aren't enough playing fields in the UK, let alone London. This one and any survivors of Tory austerity deserve our full support.
Good football and Cricket Pitches.
Love it.. Best place for kids and Adults cricket in Newham..
Excellent facilities for cricket and football. Cricket training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the summer and matches on Saturday and Sunday with Newham Cricket Club.
The only purposed playing field in Eastham for children and adults of all ages, including the innovative walking football.
Good pitches and facilities, shame about the v. poor parking spaces in the immediate area.
