We really miss this pool it’s great. Seriously needs to reopen soon what are members paying for? The other local pools are not a great alternative at the moment- Mile End is small and overcrowded. York Hall is out of use for several months due to structural work. London fields lido still has only outdoor changing- no indoor changing or hairdryers so not suitable before work or for those who need a hairdryer and even if you can manage without that it’s difficult to book a slot peak time.. London aquatics centre has cleared the bulk of the daytime schedule in the 50m competition pool to run aqua splash and is now not open till late at weekends as it was pre-pandemic. Appreciate times are difficult but the community needs this place sorely and it should be a priority to get this place up and running again.

Excellent and well-needed community resource, hugely missed since its temporary closure. Particularly enjoyed the friendly and supportive adult swimming lessons here.

My son takes swimming lessons there once a week. The small pool is warm and the water looks clean, the staff is helpful and polite and the teacher is great. Clean and spacious changing room with lockers/pegs and benches available. Haven't visited the gym yet.

Please please reopen this pool, the staff was so nice, the pool large, it could have done with a refurbishment but the nearest pool for kids now is at Poplar and it’s so bad with rude and lame swimming teachers. it really made me appreciate St George’s pool and what we had.

The pool is great but the changing rooms and showers need an update. The gym has been updated recently. Overall great place to swim, or gym if you prefer and the staff are excellent. Wish they updated the changing facilities.

Tuesday 17th May, this is the sixth alternative BETTER swimming pool I visited during the closure of the London Aquatic Centre(for 2016 European Aquatics Championship). Non-functioning showers in the male changing/unisex changing area is a HUGE turn off.
The staff were friendly and the pool is really clean and well managed. The pool is 30(perhaps 33?) metres in length, with the shallow end at 1 metre and deep end at 4 metre. It's not very busy which is really good for someone who enjoys a proper swim without interruption.
However, the management really ought to take steps fixing the showers. None of them were functioning and other fellow swimmers told me that it happens rather frequently there. It's a real shame, as the pool is great to swim in. I ended up just drying myself up after having no luck rinsing myself.

2 large pools and a gym. Best time to use the large pool is from around 9am to 10am. Friendly staff and good facilities all at a very reasonable price. Parts of it could definitely be upgraded, but in terms of value for money definitely worth a visit.

I only use the swimming pool and it's a great 33m indoor pool, 1m on one side, 1.8m in the middle and 3.8m on the other side. Morning hours are not too busy and the lanes are well organised for slow, medium and fast swimmers. The female changing room is very sad though: cold, dirty, the showers are leaking, the 2 hairdryers are broken. It's a pity because it would be a nice pool but with this poor changing room it's not a great experience.

I had a horrible accident and needed a pool to use after. I had never been before, having been a member of a private gym - and was extremely nervous. They were so friendly and kind. I still go. Lovely big pool. Friendly staff. Cleaner than most public pools that have the same use. Highly recommend it.

Not much too say really. When you need a pool come here otherwise you can go to mile end. It has a gym also. With Free Weights, Kettlebells, a battle rope, resistance machines, cardio machines and a stretch area. Water fountain as standard. The lockers are 20p non refundable as are the hairdryers. Yep 20p to use the hairdryer. Shocking i know but clearly the management are trying to recoup cost's for the massive gas bill as the pool is needed to keep warm right?

Went back swimming after 20 years, I last swam here as a kid in school which used to take us here. The pool area still looks the same, with the same pool tiles and.such, half diving boards are gone, same showers, changing area has changed very little cubicles for privacy, half are broken and falling apart. The lockers are a joke as have to pay 20p each time, who keeps.change these days? Why not make it refundable or allow use of own padlock?
Otherwise its a nice big pool, but could do with a big refurb and investment.

I like the fact that the swimming pool is bigger than 25m so you can have a great swim. The changing rooms and showers need some work, they seem outdated and a bit dirty. Friendly staff though. Also a but annoying that you can't use the pool at certain times in the evening due to swimming club.

Generally nice and very cheap (i pay £1.50 each time but prices may vary) The centre itself seems very old and the gym is above the pool so onlookers may be able to see. they have womens and nens session swimming which i think correlates with the gym so its fine. I would definitely say the gym is not worth anyone's time. Female showers are decent to.
E. P.
A little dated and the small pool is just about warm enough for swimming with an infant, but good enough if convenient. Also they have an under 5s swimming session which is good for going swimming with an infant as the pool isn't crowded.
P. W.
A friendly 33m pool with lots of natural light. It's in a handy location for morning swim stops if commuting along the Cable St cycle path. Could use a costume drying machine and no express checkin machine for members yet. One of my favourites.
B. H.
Nice, big 33m pool in central London for good swimming workouts. Different lanes for different speeds. Not too crowded. Facilities are a bit underserviced but ok. Includes a gym but it's very small.
F. B.
My local swimming pool. Its simple affordable and clean. Both my kids are going there and love it and love their teacher. Of course its a bit old, not as nice a Olympic pool but much more quiet and accessible.
A. B.
It is without doubt, in my opinion the best pool in Tower Hamlets or even perhaps London, for many reasons. It may not have the best facilities, but the pool itself is light and open, with big windows above pool level, you can swim and watch the sunset! The staff are amazing, it has a really homely feel. I have been going there for years, since my kids were small. I go very regularly and have recently started using the gym, there are no airs and graces, it is very welcoming and they will try to accomodate everyone as far as is humanly possible. The lifeguards are more than staic observers, they will step in to give a hand, teach kids, help omeone out. the reception staff will notice if you look happy or sad, and take time to ask about how you are, the teaching staff are fantastic, I hobestly cannot recommend St Georges enough. They also set6 the pool up creatively, lanes on one side, big open swimming space on another, go there, it is great.
V. A. R.
I like this pool a lot. Off peak Times have no more than 5 people.
Water seems clean 4/5 Same goes to cleanliness of this place. 4.5/5
Staff seems very. Maybe changing rooms are a bit cold 😔
A. H.
Now that's what I call a proper pool. Deep, cheap and
33m long. Swim here and get fit!
Particularly liked the grippy bit for your feet when you push off. Staff also very nice. One happy customer!
A. M.
Went back, after about 30 years, it's still the same as 30 years ago, nothing has changed, part from the staff. Showers not working, changing rooms doors broken. The Pool water is still cold. Needs to get a upgrade.
M. B.
Lovely pool for non professionals. Three lanes for slow, medium and fast swimmers. Very friendly lifeguards. Some receptionist are a bit rude. Membership for the pool is 29 per month.
R. L. F.
As far as pools go, it's cheap and convenient for those working in the city. I tend to go when it opens at 7am and it's nowhere near as busy as other Better/GLL facilities (e.g. Clapham LC or Pancras Square that I used to use before work). 33m is very old fashioned. Granted it is old/dated and could do with an upgrade but it does the job if you just want somewhere to swim lengths!
R. D.
Big swimming pool in need of some tlc, prices are cheap, and the big pool is big and deep, almost of Olympic size. The changing rooms and showers have seen better times, the gym is small and the small pool, is nice and warm.
D. K.
Great swimming pool for swimmers! Pool is not hot and sometimes it could be even be colder for a great hard swim session, where you don't want to over heat
It should really be open at 6AM
A. H.
Some of the gym equipment is in bad conditions to work out, also missing heights.
The pool is great tho.
Go to Oasis if you can. Its same gym and its perfect for gym workouts and 2 pools
M. D.
For your leisure time swimming can be the perfect activity. The nice thing is that even if you are not so keen on this idea, you can try it for free for one day. This is a nice opportunity and you can take advantage of this offer. The negative thing for me is the fact that I'm often busy and don't have as much free time as I want to spare in this leisure centre.
P. H.
Not bad at all! In fact, it's one of the good swimming pools I've been to. The swimming instructors are also nice and helpful with instructions and tips even to those who haven't paid for hiring one.
L.
It is not the best, because my lessons are extremely boring and come on 30 minutes! Please make it for a hour and make it much more fun. My judo class is just next to Fulham Road and lasts for 1h 30m and much more fun. Thank you for this though it could be better.
K. C.
Very nice and relatively clean. My favourite better leisure place in Tower Hamlets, the staff are nice too. Wish their phone would work though... Just can't get through.
J. C.
Old gym, dirty equipment in desperate need for modernisation and daily cleaning. Swimming pool and showers not bad...clean and better than mile end and Bethnal green ones. Very nice and friendly staff tho
E. A.
A little long in the tooth, but reasonably priced facilities for the local community. Small pool is well heated (not hydrotherapy warm, but not bad) and great for toddlers.
k. g.
We wanna our pool back 🥺
H. T.
A little aged but great value for money and at 33 metres about the biggest pool you'll find in East London before the Olympic Aquatic Centre.
E. R.
4/5. Good pool, not amazing but in London you aren't going to get amazing unless you pay £100 a month, whereas this is £4 a session. Would definitely recommend.
J. G. (. L.
I visit it for a water workout class, on a Friday afternoon, the centre is a bit grubby and tired and could do with a deep clean and a lick of paint. It does have an Amazon Locker which is very handy.
H. M.
I had a great time here. The pool is wide and clean. The instructors are nice and polite. And most of all - really helpful.
L. R.
Very big pool but their lockers are just silly everywhere else you get your 20p back after using the lockers but not here so other than the entrance £3.50 off peak and almost £5 during peak hours you'll have to remember to bring your £20 coins everytime if you want a locker
E. M.
Tidy swimming pool, friendly staff (minimal interaction as I didn't need help or directions). Reasonably modern facilities (as in it wasn't built before 1970?).
C. H.
Not bad for a local swimming pool. Depends when you go but the lanes can sometimes be very busy.
D. V.
please guys, reopen the pool!

J. S.

(Translated) There are two swimming pools. One for the little ones, where they are taught to swim, the second is 25 meters for the already well-floating ones. Both swimming pools are indoors, ventilation is weak, it's damp. But there is a small park and a playground near the swimming pool.
