Soft play at Wavelengths is nice quiet place, we had not been for 3 years which was before Better took over I was therefore very keen to see the changes they had made but didn't notice any change. It was nice nevertheless

Is a leisure centre with a bit of an identity crisis, especially having just been taken over by ‘Better’. Is it a fun place for families with a wave pool, tubes and more or a generic leisure centre with main pool, gym and soft play? The main pool is actually quite pleasant - without lane markers and 0.9m at the shallow end it can be full of families having fun with the deep end empty. And in many ways it is lovely. Though you will feel like The wave pool has been updated Soft play is a two-tier affair with space for babies and best avoided on hot days as the air conditioning often fails - turning it into a mini oven. The gym is at the front, visible from many sides with large glass panels. Has a good mix of machines and doesn’t seem overly busy. Haven’t tried the cafe in a while but it did seem able to produce good coffee unlike other similar venues. The vending machines are meh. All in all not bad, but do book via the ‘Better’ app which will leave you questioning the name.

Our children went swimming once a week during our summer programme. Wavelength accommodated 30 of our children and were an excellent support throughout! SHOTRA. We hope the fun pool reopens soon.

This is my local pool so don't have a lot of choice but to go here. It's fine but I'm often faced with problems when I go. The pool is often take up with lessons, it's hard to find good times to go without it being really busy and there have been a number of chlorine problems in the few months I've been there which have closed down the pool. The staff don't really seem to want you there and aren't very helpful. The changing rooms have a funny smell and there are often problems with the showers. Saying that, I do love swimming and therefore think of this place as somewhere I love going. But could be hugely improved especially when I'm paying a fair amount to be a member.

I have been at this leisure centre for 3 years now and I can say that In the complex this place is a very good place with a lot of facilities. However there is a lack of hygiene that really worry me and it’s vital that the management will take action ASAP. Furthermore the majority of the locks, hairdryer and the facilities in the gym have been damaged for months and still in the same conditions. Moreover it looks like that there is never space for members of the swimming pool because there is always a private club that is training and they always take the 2/3 of the swimming pool. Finally I can say that the staff is very polite but they really need a strong guide to get this place back in track. C’mon let’s put some efforts and make this place a better place

Not bad for a community centre serving a densely populated area. The facilities aren't as bad as people make them out to be in some reviews. The pool can be left to get quite manky sometimes and the slides are great fun. The gym has a variety of equipment.

This is a good facility for families and children. Though much of it is in need of desperate repair and a good clean. In the family pool there's a wave machine, flumes and a small toddler slide. Also an adult pool. The soft play is also good and usually very clean (if open).

I can only really comment on the kid friendly side of things at wavelengths and for me it's the best swimming pool in the area for children. The temperature is just right, there's plenty of space for loads of kids and there's an excellent gradual slope for kids to walk in to deeper water. There's also a soft play area on site which is a great way to kill a couple of hours. Definitely worth noting that the swimming pool and soft play operate in timed slots during the weekend and holidays so check before you arrive so you avoid turning up in the middle of a session. £3.25 for a swim and less for softplay

It's a nice pool, but not very practical, they only give you an hour to swim with the kids it is way too short.. it's called wavelengths but the waves don't work, even though they had a renovation fairly recently.. they do have a soft play area too and a gym which looks pretty good, with an on site cafe and library next door. They should have also renovated the changing areas, it's been the same since I can remember (20 years). We used the family changing area, which looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years, I feel sorry for any child that is put in the little cage it is rotten and there isn't even a mat. They need to do better.

Not bad. Pools are warm facilities ok. I've been to worse public swimming pools so wavelengths doesn't fair too bad. You have to wear shoe covers if you're not participating which makes me feel better about my children walking around the pool area bare feet.

The leisure pool is great: there are various depth areas for all swimmer skill levels, water slides, wave generator and powerful sprinklers that are fun and work as a good massage. Some of these activities are often unavailable due to staff shortage on weekends. You can expect queues as well sometimes. A lot of people complain about staff shortage to the staff members who are there. I think it’s unfair and if any of the staff are reading this: thanks for coming here on weekends and taking care of us, your work is really appreciated 💚 All in all: good experience every time I come here.

Kids absolutely love it here..cheap and cheerful. Like the new refurbishment (it's more open) disappointing on the age restriction, as I feel they're stopping the children being children. (Baby-8yrs) as far as I see it, the cut off point should be 11yrs old because by then, they have out grown soft play. State the 4 star. It is good for birthday parties, half term, summer holidays, or just a treat.

Decent steam room though can get a little noisy. Two pools one for fun with wave machine good for children. The other for serious swimmers. Small indoor play area for the little ones at a reasonable price. Changing rooms are not bad.

There's almost always a queue for the swimming during half term and at the weekends. Get there about 30 minutes before you want to hit the pool. Waterslides are super fun, leisure pool is excellent. Soft play is great for the kids too. Café is decent.

I only come for the pools; can't comment on the gym. Both pools are clean & in good order. The changing rooms need a clean as do the floors throughout. They do provide shoe/foot coverings though. Kids all over the gaff. All the time, every time. Time demarcations need to be tightened up & better enforcement of designated areas for food consumption. Some people have no home training & leave those changing rooms in a dreadful state but the cleaning regime also needs improvement.

I go here for Waterbabies swimming lessons. Pool is warm and there is a shallow graded "beach" part for little children. Never seen the slides or wave machine in use though. Changing rooms clean, plenty of lockers, you need a £1 coin but you get it refunded back. Family changing rooms are available.

I regularly go here with day memberships. It's very cheap and you can get a great workout and/or swim and use the steam room and sauna. The staff are so so lovely, always willing to go out of their way to help by giving you workout tips. My low rating is because I had my locker broken into and I had a thick lock, and so have several people. It seems to be a regular occurrence, so now I don't take a bag to avoid things being stolen, but this means I can't shower or use the steam room and sauna.

My kids have swimming lessons each week which I pay for but never any certificates or badges for when they move up a level,very disappointed children. And cancelled lessons havnt been refunded (4 months later). Used gym once, broken equipment and not very sanitary. Mostly all the staff are nice there!

Have to say I have tried both the leisure and exercise pools and very impressed. Pleasant staff, nice cafe area, good amenities and latter pool a serene experience. All in all top trumps and well worth a visit. Parking on site is much easier after 1.30-2.00 pm due to adjacent market.

An old fav of mines that I have introduced my kids to, remember coming here as a child and it’s still the same welcoming Lesiure centre with a cute little cafe area where you can dine in. Also, there’s an adults gym of which is a good size, not too big and not too small. With a soft play area situated up stairs for under 8’s enabling you to keep an eye on children (age & skill appropriate) who are using the swimming pool.

I have been swimming here for the last four years. The changing area and toilets have been consistently filthy over the years. They do not seem to understand that antibacterial cleaner does not remove general grime. It needs a good and regular scrubbing instead of someone waving at the floor with a mop. If the area looked clean it would be much easier to convince people to take of their shoes. I am aware that money issues might prevent proper, regular cleaning, but with many young, old or otherwise vulnerable people swimming there, I feel no excuse is good enough. There are many good reasons to go swimming here, but without cleanliness I cannot recommend it. I wish I could force the pool's management into action, as the pool and the community deserve it. I wish they would get their act together on this because the pool is bright thanks to loads of daylight and my child's swimming teacher is excellent. I cannot judge other services provided by the centre, because I have not used them.

I do come here, but the leisure pool and sauna area is really putting me off. The lane dividers in the leisure pool are BLUE with mould. The timetable changes at time without notice. People perform full body scrubs and peeling in the sauna. It doesn't seem that any cleaning is done during the day. The lane pool is in good condition and is probably the cleanest area. Not well maintained, unfortunately it seems like no one cares about the community that would highly benefit from using this centre more often and probably would, if the standards changed.

Wavelengths was a good gym but now appears to be rather unkept but i wouldn't know whether this is down to general wear and tear or lack of management and maintenance. There were at least 3 machines that were not working and did not have any notice on them informing users that they were out of order. Also the changing room is rather dirty and appears to be cleaned once a day if that even.

Great place for children to engage in creative activity such as swimming. There is also a soft play room, a dance studio which can be used as a party space and a brilliant cafe. A gym is located in the building as well as a steam room . There is a lift to transport visitors to all floors. Overall rating of this space...5 stars.

Overall, the centre is well run and the staff are helpful. The changing area is pretty clean and the are always enough lockers. My kids love it here and the water is warm enough for me to sit and enjoy it without freezing!

I heard all this cool stuff about the waves so took my 'Sun' during half term on a day scheduled for the wave & slide. Neither were turned on, there was no explanation & someone remarked that turning on the slide/wave was subject to how the swimming pool guys felt. Obviously not the case BUT it reflected the general mood. Disappointing. Those are the facilities that differentiate it from other pools, turns out it was just another pool. Should have just gone to the pool opposite my house, would have saved me 2hr travel 😊

An excellent pool, with a leisure pool with slides and a reasonable rectangular one for those wishing to avoid the children. It would be even better if the wave machine worked consistently and they could stop closing the little warm pool so often for chlorine balance.

I love this swimming bars. I don't live in the borough so i end up going out of my way to get here but its worth it. The ballpit is upstairs in a closed off room. Access is only possible when you press the release button to enter. The ball pit is quite small so not so great for big kids but perfect for under 10's also the swimming is just great. They have different sessions to suit differnt peoples needs. My personal favourite is the "flume fun" session which means that the slides are open and the waves come on which gives the kids the chance to have as much fun as possible. They have a gym but ive never used it so id be no help there.

Pretty much every family I know in Deptford, New Cross and surrounding postcodes use Wavelengths either for swimming, gym, classes, kids karate, kids softplay. There's loads going on here. Management isn't also as organised as it could be, sometimes swimming lessons are cancelled last minute, and the floors and locker rooms could be cleaner. Cafe has had new management take over and is greatly improved. They also have a 'healthy' vending machine. Soft play needs more inspection and cleaning, sometimes it's overrun by big kids and teenagers rather than the suggested age groups.

Good swimming pool could of made pool bigger to cater for more swimmers. You get a 1 hour session. Changing rooms need to be cleaned regularly which does not happen and has an unhygienic feel to it

A good local leisure center just off of Deptford High Street. The large leisure pool runs to 1.8m deep as does the 25m swim pool. The leisure pool also has a wave machine, two water slides and some water sprays. These are only in use periodically. The 25m pool is predominantly for swimming exercise and lessons. There is also an extensive gym with equipment focusing on both strength and cardio training. Perhaps the only let down is the sauna and steam room that do work well but are small which can lead to crowding. Prices are good and the staff polite and attentive.

Easily accessible by a practically on its doorstep bus stop and a short walk from Deptford DLR, Wavelengths remains the albeit dusty, jewel in the Lewisham Leisure Pool's Crown. Wether the unserviced and thus inoperable facilities such as the Wave machine, fountains and 'bubble pool' remain out of action due to lack of investment on Fusion's part or the worn infrastructure is due to ineffective staff deployment it is unfortunate that with its warm and gradually deepening water the pool remains the best option for children and those thrill seekers wanting to avail themselves of its two flumes. Staff are friendly and helpful and the well provisioned gym and relatively new soft play area ensure reasonable satisfaction for all the family.

The swimming pool is good one of the warm ones and staff are friendly however I can't recommend it as the showers are to hot and the changing rooms are filfy I wish could say it's my favourite but until they clean it my favourite is the Bridge in Sydenham. I can't judge the rest of it as I haven't been. But cafe is ok as well.

I went to visit the softplay area. The lift has been broken for a while which is very inconvenient with a double buggy. They have recently deep cleaned. Avoid during school holidays and after school. They allow 72 children in such a small place its barbaric.

I enjoy going to Sauna, but on website opening times are not updated. I came on Tuesday morning 31/05/2106 at 7 am (made an effort), thinking it was women only, because on website it stated TUESDAYS ALL DAY WOMEN ONLY only to find it was mixed. Website is confusing, when i spoke to the receptionist she said, it has not been updated for years. Can management look into this please.

Not to shabby good swimming centre but kicked us out of the pool for a pool clean and said we must buy another ticket to re-enter another complaint is that we gave a few complaints and they just sat there like nothing was happening, when really it was not safe on our behalf lastly we got taken out because of the pool clean (we had ten minutes of swimming/ 50 mins of swim time left) and we asked for our money back and they still refused Not the best but deffinetly worth trying
