Reviews of Willesden Sports Centre
M. S.
Roomy, clean, and friendly gym! The centre is amazing with both indoor and outdoor track, swimming pool, room for classes and upstairs and downstairs areas. Thanks to the generous size there's always an option to do another exercise if the machine or area you want is occupied, and thus far everyone (both staff and members) have been nothing but courteous and helpful. Definitely recommend!

One of the best gyms I have been in my whole life ASA athlete. And it turns out in the subscription all the sport centre activities are incluided. I can book myself into the swimming pool or even the sauna.
I go 5 times a week at least it's one of my favourite places.

I've been a member for coming upto 3 weeks and can honestly say that I'm glad I took a lot of the reviews with a pinch of salt. Does what it says on the tin. Quite happy with everything provided! The staff have been great too. 👍

This is a pretty big sports centre with a pool, gym, running track, badminton courts and rooms for other classes like yoga and karate. SKCE, the karate club that runs a lot of classes here is excellent, with great instructors. There is a cafe downstairs as well.

Lovely clean centre, staff are terrific and swimming coaches are good with excellent lessons for children

This Sports Centre has it all! Inside you will find a place to park buggies & scooters, a cafe with seating, 2 pools (warm for the little ones & large for laps), viewing onto both the pools, workout area, studio, dojo, dry & wet changing rooms. Outside a track, beautiful park and playground.

Great sports center with friendly staff. Variety of classes to join into also. the outdoor track is a big plus for running !

Great local gym. Has everything you need including pool, outdoor running track and classes. Only been going for 2 weeks but it’s definitely worth a visit.

All the necessary facilities, good parking, always clean and staff has always been helpful

The staff are very nice and helpful
Before covid i hated swimming there but now (before 2nd lockdown) the life guards actually control things well - things like people suddenly standing and chatting in swimming lanes, or allowed to swim in white underwear, or really very slow swimmer in fastest lane didn't get their attention before. I'm happy to see all swimmers getting along better!

I find this to be a well kept Sports Centre. I usually go to the swimming pool and it is usually clean and supervised well. The staff are fine. I had one concern about how children are kept safe from members of the public. I witnessed adults using the same changing rooms as children. Staff was made aware and I hope that it has been rectified.
The cafe is very good and offers a clean space to relax before or after activities.
The centre offers a very good range of sports and fitness activities for all age groups. It has its own car park. It is a real treasure in the local community.

I don't normally write reviews on here but I felt compelled to in light of the bad rating this place has which almost turned me away from coming here. Now that I've been going for a couple of months I can say it's not fair really.
I only use the pool so I'm only talking about that. I haven't seen the rest of the place. But the pool, it's a nice man. It's like someone else in the reviews said earlier, in another country this place would be reserved for, like, Olympic Athletes. It's easy to forget how good we have it here.
There's cubicle changing, which is nice. And there's always people going around cleaning. It can get kinda busy during peak hours or school holidays but if you go during off peak hours it's chilling.
I saw some reviews saying the staff were rude etc. Everyone I saw or spoke to there was nice, just normal people.
I'm giving it 4/5 stars cos I'm sure there is some expensive pool which would be a 5 star place. But here, swim membership is £25 quid a month which is pretty reasonable. For that money I think it's a good place.

overall good place. Staff at times can be a bit tough but noticed some not nice customers .. actually witnessed receptionist being shouted at for no reason other than she asked for his membership card! They put up with a lot. Pool is busy but got to get good swim in lanes. Used gym and had great induction with lovely female instructor. Treat the place with respect and you will have no issues. Only down side under 16's swim free during holidays... so busy - but I have no kids so not appeal to me but my nieces love it! Had an issue with my locker and Jose helped me deal with it quickly.

It's an awesome place to relax and give time to yourself. The gym is quite good but a bit congested when it comes to rush hours. Instead of covering acres of land they don't have a small place to offer your prayers. Yesterday seen some kids offering there prayer in the hallway. The management should look into this matter and create a small area dedicated as prayer room.

Good sports centre. Good lesson, cafe etc.

In the beginning all was fine, but once you go on a daily basis you'll start to understand that the politeness and manners of some staff leave some serious doubts about the effectiveness of the sport centre.
The gym have good cross trainers, treadmills cycles, good machines for each muscular group. You can have a very effective workout but unfortunately you will have to avoid the peak time.
Keep in mind that are good and not so good staff members and after few days you'll notice that.
(Sometimes it will be very busy and you'll notice that the weights will be everywhere and you will stumble...)
If you want to use the Swimming Pool make sure you check the affluence. I would recommend early in the morning. During the day It's impossible to swim due to the fact of being so crowded that everyone struggles to swim. Also, don't stress out if after the bath you notice small red stains of pruritus over the body due to the abusive use chlorine in the pool, it's normal. See the positive side, at least the pool it's disinfected and you should expect this because it's a cheap gym, don't expect an Olympic pool.
Obs: Don't bother yourself to report anything to the management or costumer service if you're facing any sort of issues they don't reply... Also, if someone from the staff is listless or disrespectful don't be surprised, it's normal... The best thing is to avoid the some staff...
Overall experience may very from people to people.
But if you're going Good luck!

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (10 and 13 yrs) and just moved to the neighborhood. I was really surprised by all the bad reviews about the Willesden sport center and wondered if it was worth getting a membership. We gave a try at the end and I really don’t understand why this place has such a poor rating. Staff is welcoming and friendly, everyone was very helpful and professional. The pool has a very generous size, lockers are clean. The gym is pretty big with good equipment. Overall and for the price you pay I think it’s a good quality sport center. Hope this review will help the team over there because they are doing a good job. Sebastien

Fantastic swimming facilities. Kids under a certain age swim for free, I'm not 100% but I think it is if they are under 3 years old. The children's pool is heated as well so you can happily take young babies there to splash around for 20 minutes or so.
Showers outside the changing rooms are blissfully warm and provide decent water pressure. The changing rooms themselves are baking hot which is very handy when you are trying to get the kids dried off and changed.
Prices are decent as well, less than £10 for two adults.
Be warned: the children's pool is frequently used for swimming lessons and you might not be able to use it during those sessions. Recommend you check the website as they publish the schedule.

It's a great place to go especially if you enjoy swimming and weight training, and also an outdoor track for those who enjoy a good run. Excellent space for cardio training

I swim there once or twice a week, usually in the morning. A good pool, and I've always found the staff pleasant. The downsides are that sometimes there's a few too many folks in the medium lane to really stretch out and swim at the pace you want. And the men's toilet by the pool is always a bit smelly. But its pretty cheap and membership isn't obligatory. The good definitely outweighs the bad.

I do not know why people is complaining and saying bad things about the center itself and the staff!!! I have being going there now for a very long time and I never had any bad experience !!! The staff is very kind and helpful the rules are also very useful and helpful, (the only thing is that I don't like the rule that we can not take picture in the pool) I understand it a because of others safety , but I have a baby and its her first time in the pool so I would love to have a picture of her self in the pool.
But apart from that everything is amazing !!
The staff

Ive been attending Willesden Sports centre for years and have always experience a great service. The staff are friendly and helpful, The group sessions are excellent and run at a professional level. I have always found the centre clean and tidy. I would highly recommend this centre to all people of all cultures and back grounds. They have a wide variety of activities to take part in and are good value for money. The Sunday woman only gym session is fantastic.

I don't know why this gym has so many bad reviews. We went there to sign up, nice lady walked us through everything we needed to know, gave us an overview of all facilities and we joined happily.
We had a gym induction as well, nice guy gave us a presentation of all machines, explained how to use them, pointed us to our beginner errors on machines, asked about our goals and explained what should we do to reach them.
I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Four stars because some rare machines lack grips and one is out of order at the moment, I believe that five star venue should have everything in working and proper order. Other than that, there are no complains from me.

Moved to area and wanted to find a regular pool to visit for bi daily rehabilitation swimming.
When I got there, the staff were friendly and free parking for 4 hours which is great.
The changing rooms were ok but there was really no parameters as to where the ladies changing room started and the men’s changing room finished so it was a little alarming to see a man after getting out the shower. The pool timetable online said it was general swim the time I went (8.30pm on a Tuesday) but when I got to the pool, lessons were in progress taking up most of the pool leaving about an eighth of the pool for swimmers and kids. There was a medium lane for the public but too fast for me. The divider rope for the lane kept coming away from the wall at one end and at one point it had come right across my swimming path. The staff kept putting it back but it would keep coming un secure and a safety hazard. The pool was also very cold even after swimming a while and then the showers took a long time to warm up. I’m not sure if I will go here again since I wanted a quiet evening swim and it had lessons and bomb diving kids going on the whole time. The fact that the pool was very cold has put me off the most and the changing rooms set up which I also heard someone else complaining to staff members about.

It was be nice if I was ladies only

Large and comparatively cheap sports centre. They offer a free trial.

I have been going there for eight years plus and intend to continue. Yes, I have come across staff being rude but also staff being friendly and very helpful. Generally I like it. The facilities I use are OK. I was annoyed though when I lost my shoes one day a few weeks back to be told that it would be against centre policy to ask over the P.A. if anyone had found them - shoes are rather an important item!. (They were eventually found....at reception). Set against that I know that one class leader had taken them to reception, and Patrick from the maintenance team offered to see if he could find me a spare pair to wear on the journey home and another staff ember, Maria, I think, had a look around with me.

Not bad at all, actually the one problem I want to mention it's the fact that so many people make use of the centre , specially children , it seems that every time I want to run on the track there's some sort of school activities going on but I understand that being the central sports centre of the community. Love the diversity, people from all walks of life , has for the staff I'll just say that one needs to walk on their shoes perhaps to have a feel of how difficult it might be , hundreds of people use the centre on a daily basis. I definitely recommend and praise. I come from a country in which such facilities are usually only available for the privileged . Peace.

Plenty of classes and great facilities!

It's facilities of swimming pool; Sauna Steam rooms & upstairs gym and dance studio is not bad. Very well used in the community from schools to the elderly and disabled. The only down sides are the cleanliness of changing rooms and wet sides...due to popularity especially at weekends and evenings I think in sufficient staff to maintain the cleanliness. The other downsides are the lack of information of reasons why dry side ladies changing area (which leads into wet sude near pool) are locked on Sundays this put pressure on ladies/ young children changing areas. The lack of info of when maintenance will be completed eg steam room took months to repair! I like this place I use it weekly for past 20+ years but it really needs better management to become the success it once was...

Very well equipped sports centre, you can do a lot of sports here both inside and out. However the swimming pool is almost always very crowded. Price is a little above average but you get good quality and helpful staff for it.
