Reviews of Wimbledon Leisure Centre and Spa

The staff and coaches are good. The place is nice and clean. The pool is warm, that's what my daughter says (she's doing the foundation course). Although my son, who is in the development class says it's not that warm om the deep end. There's very limited parking available, which makes it a bit inconvenient. But overall we're happy customers and my kids like going there!

large facilities and run pretty smoothly with helpful and friendly staff. The only concern is that it is quite an old and outdated design of an establishment compared to the other Better gyms (for example compared to New Addington or Vauxhall). Besides the aesthetics, this matters. For example, if you go from the changing rooms to the pool or back, you have to pass through a cold hallway which is not heated. This is not a dealbreaker, but this makes the gym not as ergonomic as the new gyms are.
In addition, it could have been maintained better. The showers in the changing rooms (and next to the pool) barely work (which means that many enter the pool without showering first), there is not enough heating in the facilities, there is a mild smell of sanitation in the pool, and the walls of the hallway are a bit damaged (the last one does not hinder the functionality I suppose, but is more of an aesthetic factor).
Any more unattended depreciation to the facilities, in my opinion, should not be condoned, otherwise it will become unfit for operation, and "Better Health" organisation could withdraw its contract to maintain consistency of quality across its gyms, as there is considerable variance across its gyms in London and greater London, and I am not referring to the fact that some gyms have or don't have certain facilities like swimming pools, but to the fact that some operate better than others in terms of cleanliness and sanitation, efficiency...etc. Good Luck, and thanks a lot.

Jackie and Andrea were absolutely phenomenal! Would recommend the back, face and scalp massage - and the spa faculties are amazing!

After almost a year-long hiatus from the gym I felt a bit anxious about returning (I’m sure many are in or have been in this situation recently). The staff at Wimbledon Leisure Centre made me feel completely at ease and went above and beyond. They gave me a tour of where everything was, ran through their Covid rules and an instructor who wasn’t even working at the time very kindly showed me how to use one of the machines properly (which I definitely needed!) If, like me, you’re putting off going back to the gym, I highly recommend Wimbledon Leisure Centre as they have given me the reassurance I needed.

Good gym with nice equipment but membership prices have been rising steadily over the last couple of years, and I think it no longer represents good value for money. I believe there is no longer a gym only membership option which is disappointing.
Changing rooms/ shower facilities could be improved.
There is a car park available for members but it is often full.
