Brilliant afternoon! Just left and was so impressed I had to leave a review straight away. Me and my boyfriend came - I was a complete first-timer but my boyfriend had done it before. All the staff were really welcoming but Tony was our instructor and he was brilliant! He was so reassuring about anything I was unsure of and was such a great teacher too. We would like to start coming frequently and will be requesting Tony again, thanks!

This place is amazing. Took my boyfriend for his birthday because it’s something he’s been wanting to do for a while, and even though it’s something I’ve never done before we both had a great time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and Peter was just a great instructor with a great personality. I would highly recommend even if it’s something you’ve never done before, I’m sure you’ll have a great experience.

Great place to pass a few hours. Serves hot and cold drinks. Snacks/sweet stuff. Air rifle ranges and clay pigeon shooting. Not expensive for use of the place and nice hot cuppa. Real fire too!

Absolutely great shooting venue with very friendly staff. we are very new to clay shooting, having only done clay shooting experiences a few times before. Arrived to inquire about getting started in the sport and booking lessons. We did arrive quite late in the day expecting to just have a short chat about getting started but instead got straight into it with our first lesson with peter. the lesson was great. we spent time trying to pick a shotgun that would fit best for us both which made a massive difference when shooting. walked down to the stands while asking questions about what we wanted out of the lesson and the future rather than just doing a simple run of the mill have a go. we left after finishing our training feeling ecstatic and having learned more from a short impromptu training session than all our previous experiences combined. we later return for our safety training held by peter. which was very informative and engaging, which was a nice surprise. this was a 3-hour course with practical elements and training interlaced allowing us to put the training into practice while also improving our shooting skills. Well worth money and time. I would happily recommend steve smith shooting ground and peter to anyone looking to starting clay shooting or as a ground to use.

This Is a great place, me and my dad went here as total amateurs and had a lesson with TONY he was outstanding and couldn't have been more helpful. He made the day what it was and I would highly recommend asking for him if you book. I'll definitely be returning.

Popped in to see what I could expect when I take my kids in. I was shown round by a very grounded, straight talking no nonsense fella. Very refreshing, we walked around the complex, educating me on the facilities and issues. I went on the Air Rifle range for a couple of hours and found the clientele very friendly and polite. Really comfortable with the staff and I'm happy to be going back with my kids and I would recommend this range to anyone old or young to enjoy some responsible shooting.

Great fun with the kids today. Peter was a legend as my kids put it! Kept the instructional stuff light enough for the kids to absorb (and me). Guidance and tips really helped us along. What has four fingers and shoots clays? My kids! Class.

As someone new to the sport I had a few lessons with Peter which were great. Just had my first solo shoot after purchasing my first gun and Chris very kindly showed me around and showed me the ropes. Wide variety of shooting options and very reasonably priced.

I find Steve Smiths Shooting ground a great place to shoot. I learned Shotgun skills there. A great range of traps and disciplines are available and i find the membership reasonable and contains a wealth of experience from both game and trap shooters. Having both shotgun and Air Rifle ranges available means there is always something to practice even when the weather turns on you. Plenty of parking available onsite and a great place to hone your skills..........Come on down...you know you want to !

Visited the Range today with my Air Arms air rifle' after paying the gentleman on the desk I took a look at the club shop and I was very impressed with what I saw it seemed well stocked and professionally fitted' Directions were given to the allocated rife ranges' one being a shorter ranger for pistols or ideally for anyone wanting to zero their optics for ratting etc and a longer range with a vast array of targets to plink away to your hearts content' Overall I am very pleased with my visit and will be visiting again' Staff spot on Location spot on Members spot on Price spot on Thanks guys see you soon David
