I love this park. It's huge and there's lots to do. A big children's play area, a lake with lots of wild life, foot ball pitch, tennis courts, a cafe, band stand, an avery and a museum.

My friends and I visited the park while I was on my first-ever visit to Northampton. The greenery and the plants were nothing special, but the water-body, that is located across the road, is supposed to have boating too. Great park to visit if you go to Northampton! Inside the park, we also visited the Abington museum. This was free, and quite interesting. It used to be a house that exchanged many hands, the last owner being the grand daughter of William Shakespeare.

My favourite park in Northampton for just wandering around. Has a lovely aviary area with loads of nice birds to see, a band stand which I believe still has bands on Sundays during the summer. Lots of dogs, lots of squirrels and loads of history.

I use the park everyday of the year for exercise. And love it. And it has helped me so much with my mental health. The park is a beautiful place and seeing it go through the seasons is glorious. It changes every day. It's kept beautiful by the hard working gardeners. Just wish the toilets were better but I understand why they aren't. Thankyou.

Had a walk round and went through aviaries walkway. Sat and had a lovely cappuccino at park cafe and took the sun rays in. A few dogs off leads when supposed to be kept on leads in that area. A bit disappointed at owners, especially because lots of toddlers about. Enjoyed it nonetheless but dog owners need to be more conscious of areas where dogs need to be leashed. Little memorial to BEAR, who lost his furry life through a dog attack reminded me of this.

A large and peaceful park with a bird viewing area and two lakes (can use peddle boats in the smaller lake). A band usually play during weekends, depending on weather. Abington museum has displays of the history of the local area. Recommended.

Beautiful sunny walk with my partner, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Enjoyed the museum had not been in for years but loved the changes that have been made.

This park if caught on the right day can be magical. For instance I went for a walk with a friend on Sunday we started at the lake's which had children in paddle boats enjoying themselves. It was a beautiful sunny day then we walked up through the children's play area which was very busy up to the house and had a lovely time in the museum learning about Northampton's past then walked outside through the Avery and saw some amazing birds then we heard music and there was a fantastic brass band playing in the very old music stand so we sat and watched the last few songs and joined in. Everything fell into place perfectly! Then the walk back to the car through the park in the sunshine was relaxing and therapeutic instead of sitting at home wasting the day. I recommend it for everyone it caters for any age.

Looks like the maintenance teams have lots to do in clearing up the debris after recent storms. With spring approaching the flowers are coming to life and the drab colours of winter are being subdued. Plenty of families about on an overcast Sunday visiting the aviaries, cafe, the lakes and playing games. The toilets, near the bowling greens, were open and in reasonable order (everything seemed to work). My only negative comment, which many people won't care about, is that the area where the maintenance teams work from is in need of some TLC. Spend a little on paint now, if it's not already too late, or spend much more on replacing doors, windows and fittings in the not too distant future. Some 50 years after my grandmother used to take me and my brother, Abington Park is still a pleasant place to spend a few hours with family and friends.

We love it. You can walk, climb trees, use the play area,outdoor gym and see the birds for free. The museum is free but asks for donations. You can use the cafe which isn't cheap but you get what you pay for here and there's loads an ice cream van for a cheaper snack or bring a picnic.

I gave the park 4 stars as I love taken my grandson and his friend yesterday for there first time we arived about 1.30 and we visited the museum and it's free but please leave a donation so we can have as long as possible. Our biggest disappointment was the cafe there tables needed cleaning under the tables was a mess I asked to have it cleaned and she walked by when I was outside and didn't bother so when I came back I got spray and cloth that we're just sitting at the end of the counter with in reach of children and then the food came and I said to my friend why did you order such large portions and she said they didn't give me a choice so we ended with way to many chips and large hot chocolate for one child and large cream milkshake for an other so not a very good experience I can see why they need staff

Lots of different parrots and a white peacock. More greenery can be added inside the aviaries. More nature and less metal. Budgies are the least healthy looking of them all. It could have something to do with their colouring, may be they could be separated inside that one aviary: green, blue, white and yellow. And not a mix of all four.

There are signs asking people not to feed bread to the birds but noticed a few people ignoring the signs. Abington Park is well maintained with a small boating lake, two ponds that run into each other through a small stream. There are a number of physical attractions dotted around the park for both adults and children to do. Plenty of room to kick footballs around. Bring your own table tennis bats and balls. There is a usually ice cream vans parked up in summer, a cafe on site. Can be a little expensive. We tend to buy sandwiches from the Tesco garage which is within walking distance of the park, you can also pick up monkey nuts from there. There is also a small museum on site telling the story of Northampton, check on opening times though, a very small public walk way through the avaries ( can't feed these birds) which is near the museum. It is a beautiful park to enjoy picnicking, sitting, walking through or around, feeding the ducks, squirrels + pigeons and playing on. As it is a popular park, parking can be a bit of a nightmare as there is no allocated parking areas, so its finding parking spaces on the road and it does get very busy.

Whilst l'm not particularly happy that the birds are caged they have recently had their cages refurbished and improved. There are things to do for the birds and lots of nesting/ roosting boxes. The aviaries are cleaned regularly too

The Aviary is located in the main part of Abington Park, just on the side of Abington Museum. The main attractions are the two peacocks. I remember a few years ago there was a competition amongst local primary schools to name them. There are approximately a dozen cages holding chickens to parrots and other smaller birds. Nice distraction for younger kids.

The Aviary is within Abington Park. The Aviary was there when I was a child. Any child born in Northampton asks to go to see the birds. Birds are well looked after but it is still sad to see them in cages.
