You get what you pay for kind of place. Good value for money for class activities. Places people, please would you consider placing a Costa coffee machine in the common area so customers don’t have to wait at the coffee bar. Staff there are regularly overwhelmed and you wait ages for a coffee. Thanks.

The gym staff are friendly and helpful. The gym itself is ok but could expand the weight lifting area with more equipment and reduce the number of treadmills. There can be a little wait in the weightlifting area but an overall good experience over the past year.

I am someone who plays quite regularly. And the place sees a lot of foot traffic these days. It was overhauled not too long ago and the new set up works for people. The staff though are a mixed bunch of good and the not so good. And probably are overworked, which is why. But all in all a decent place. But if you thinking of buying a new membership here. I'd suggest thinking twice because it's very busy.

Lovely staff. Good team work. Unfortunately not everthing is perfect sometimes the changing room from poolside are muddy but i guess it's because some people dont follow the rules. They are there for some reason and need to be respected at everytime. Specially when it is closing time...

We've had another lovely visit to Loddon Valley. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. It was our first swim in a public pool since Covid. We booked a spot online and turned up. Lots of parking available (though u know it can get busy) The only reason for 4 stars is that the family changing rooms smelt very strongly of urine. Otherwise the facilities seemed clean. My little one had a great time and we'll be back!

So my son has been going to the swimming lesson here for maybe 2 months now and I'm so far very pleased. He is only in stage one so his teacher is in the water, which I think is very good. His teacher (Jane), always says hello when she sees him before the class and from what I can see through the class is very good with him during the lesson and the other children too. The class I think has just the right amount of children for the teacher to be able to fully support each child. The other stages do sometimes look fairly busy mind you. I think it is a bit of a shame it is such a quick handover after lesson, with no contact with the teacher. The showers are always busy, and I don't think that there are quite enough. Also, we have now been to the new soft play here twice, and each time been impressed. The toys, and equipment are modern, sturdy and clean and of course fun for my 4 year old. Would definitely recommend this soft play.

This is such a great centre, from Feyza sorting out the sales and getting us onboarded, to Darryl, Cullem and the other gentleman who works in the gym. Helen at poolside, Chloe and the other ladies at the reception desk. This has been a great experience. Now if only the government would see sense and let us back to training and getting fit. About the only gripe I have is that the family swim times are too few and should be expanded and additional swimming training for the kids would be great

The pool is nice enough but for some reason they always have it freezing cold. I'm not expecting bath temperatures but its far colder than any other swimming pool I've ever been to. The other problem is the locker system, they secure with padlocks and you either have to take your own or buy one of the ones they supply for £3. The ones they provide are combination padlocks which aren't much use for those of us that wear glasses as you can't see the numbers in the padlock when you get back to the locker after swimming without your glasses on.

Since moving to the area I have been a member of the swimming pool now for about 7 months, and usually swim 3 times a week. I've always enjoyed my swim when I have visited. There are 4 lanes: a slow, medium and fast lane, and then a wider, much bigger lane which seems to be for any ability just find a space and swim. The only problem with this is that the slower and faster swimmers can get in the way of each other, and presumably because of this today I witnessed a rather aggressive argument between two swimmers, in which staff had to get involved and one of the swimmers was asked to leave. I wonder whether it would be beneficial to have this larger lane split into a couple more faster/slower lanes so as to avoid this problem?

I've been a member for about 18 months. Regular user of the gym, pool and courts and have always been more than happy with everything. The gym can get busy, but even at peak times I am able to do my work out with ease. The classes are usually easy enough to book up & always had great fun during all of them. Don't understand the low ratings, honesty never had any issues. Aldine and co do a great job of interacting with everyone. Learnt a lot!

Reviewed Loddon two years ago following a number of unpleasant experiences. Visited the other day @ 9am, and was pleasantly surprised by the changes made. Please bear in mind that I am a swimmer and, as such, can only comment on the pool and areas associated with it. I also appreciate that Loddon is a leisure centre, not a luxury spa. 1. Staff: Much more attentive, engaged, and efficient. They have a one-way system in place at the moment due to COVID-19, and this is streamlined really well. Better trained staff and less bored teenagers = better experience for everyone. 2. Lanes: The lanes are currently widened, I assume to satisfy social distancing. Speed allocations are the same (slow, medium, fast), and there is still room for improvement insofar as monitoring the pace of swimmers within these lanes (slow swimmers in fast lane particularly). We've all been slow swimmers once, no shame in dropping a lane to allow those who train at faster paces some room. 3. Cleanliness: Pretty spot-on when I visited (in the morning). The one way system means people now leave out of the back of the changing rooms. This is, for me, a great system and one that Loddon might want to considering permanently adopting; less crowding and huddle, and far less dirt on the floor. The showers were clean, as was the pool and pool side. Glad to see the jacuzzi has gone as well. 4: Booking: Due to COVID-19, you need to book to swim. This means there is a limited amount of crowding in the pool and in the changing rooms, which also limits the amount of cleaning required after each session. Again, may be worth adopting this long-term as it is working. Looking forward to returning more regularly, and glad that my previous review no longer applies.

A brilliant leisure club fantastic array of classes in the gym,studio and pool. Not forgetting a lovely swim school for children and adults, and a beautifully equipped crèche for the little ones.Very friendly and helpful staff. I have been going over 10 years and love it. I admit there are some areas that need attending and there has been a great amount of changes recently all for the better, but as we all know it takes time and money and with the club being open 24/7 it can be hard to achieve. Wow there is so much to say about this amazing gym I don't know where to start! Over the last 4 years I have been been very conscious and unhappy about my weight. With years of trying to do it on my own and failing I finally got the courage to join the gym and if it wasn't for the very approachable, kind hearted, enthusiastic, dedicated and extremely supportive staff (who become your friends) I know I would have failed again. Joining this gym and having the best PT ever (Simon Flatt) was the best decision I have made and feel completely comfortable and at home here. I love the varied classes, range of high quality equipment and am shocked at just how strong I am getting! Aldine, Simon, all the other staff and the friendly members are what makes this gym fantastic! They have all helped change my life and for that, I am eternally grateful!

I've never had confidence in myself until I came here! But that is 100% down to the staff! They're all amazing (especially the gym staff as that is where I am most!) Support inside and outside the gym whenever you need it! Also they've always had all the equipment needed for a good workout and loads of classes to choose from!

You get what you pay for its a good local leisure facility for a council linked set up. Although 1life is private company. If you want the quality and ambiance of a more premium gym you can treble your membership fee and go elsewhere like nirvana or David Lloyd. Why I haven't give more stars, the toilets and changing room are a bit shabby, they need antibac spray in the gym/spin studio (really please you do. That bits gross) and the turnstile and entry set up are not great and often not working properly. The good things, there is a great range of classes which are easy to get into, there is a pool and a good range of equipment.

Wonderful place where I spent much of my childhood! Learnt to swim there, all the way from stage 1 to stamina squad, and am now privileged enough to work there as well, helping to teach the next generation of swimmers. Recently joined the gym too - the facilities are amazing, lots of new things to try and the staff are brilliant! Would like to especially say thank you to Aldine and Noah, who helped my sister and I get started, showing us around and generally making sure we didn't make fools of ourselves!!! Overall, would definitely recommend the site to people - great facilities, wonderful staff and an amazing community.

Well COVID organised with clear directional arrows and very pleasant staff, just be warned you can't get out within the first 25mins of a swim session as they will be cleaning the changing room also to note all lockers are left unlocked for your convenience!

Such a great gym. We have access to a free gym at work but I'd still rather pay to go to Loddon valley as the team there are just so fantastic and welcoming. All the staff are very friendly and are a genuine credit to the one life family. Special mentions to Aldine, Adam who are always available for chats and helpful advice and also Omar who is a fantastic sales rep and always comes to say hi when I'm I'm the gym. Jd

Used to only attend classes but after attending Aldines "learnt to lift" group, and building so much more confidence from it, and now having Simon as my amazing PT, I spend most of my time in the weights area of the gym and love it. The staff are very friendly. I loved their GP referral program and the Learn to Lift courses. It's about time the mysteries of weight training were revealed and open to all genders and abilities. There's a Les Mill class to suit everyone. Why not give it a try? I did and I haven't looked back 😀

Great facilities, nice pool, lovely gym and amazing team members. Coaches care about your progress and offer lots of different routes to help you reach your goals. Only downer is parking - but just shows how popular the centre is!

Poolside is loads cleaner then it was before, cleaner is doing a brilliant job, just a shame there not kept to his standards when he's not on site. I now swim in the mornings instead of evenings and no longer swim at the weekend due to the lazy worker that cleans in there. The site in general needs revamping ALL OVER.

The pool is clean and airy, the showers are in need of a time adjustment. To shower and wash hair for example you have just three seconds before water turns off. Impossible for longer hair. Very frustrating!

I used the swimming pool. It was a good experience, changing rooms were correct as well as the pool. The lady at counter was very friendly. The only snag is the size of the pool, would like it bigger.

Now has a new soft play for kids .lots of new toys for kids to run around slide down and shoot .one thing I don't like it the flooring on the side of it is very slippery and need to be covered in the same orange stuff as inside I watched at least 30 kids fall .
