Staff are friendly and the equipment is ok - it honesty perplexes me though that a university gym is so small. Equipment is lacking as well - more weights needed and some extra EZ bars.
A. A.
Good facilities and good price. However, they start charging every one (non-membership) extra 1£ for using indoors courts which is not fair. I book football pitch, and i only pay the fees. But for the indoors courts everyone needs to l

have only been to the cafe but its really good, try the recovery shake if you go x

Instructors are all very supportive and happy to help, overall a good atmosphere. Only negative is hardly anyone re-racks their weights properly so you sometimes find yourself wandering around looking for the right plates

Great facilities and friendly staff. The tennis dome is superb! Coffee and snacks on site too.

Was at Sports Park to watch The Rock Choir encouraging the runners in the half marathon. Choir was great and the runners also seemed to appreciate them. The weather was lovely too.

Lovely rugby pitch. Fantastic changing room. Was a pleasure to play.

Reading university sport facility excellent.

This is my local Gym, which is the official gym for the University of Reading. So the nice thing is that in term time, there are lots of students to share it with, which makes the atmosphere fun at times! I love the excercise classes, especially with people like Sally and Anja, and the majority of the gym attendants are lovely and help me a huge amount with questions! Ashley, Junior, Kat and Nadia are the best. Does sometimes get a bit busy and cramped in term time, so hopefully they will extend it soon! On the campus so near lots of nice scenery and places to eat and play sport etc.
I play at the tennis courts here too, and they have been my home tennis courts for many, many years. Once they built the new 'bubble' on the tennis courts there, the indoor court charges are quite large. The bubble itself was supposed to have cost ~800,000 pounds, but it's astounding that it cost that because it is just an old fashioned tent with an airlock... Very mystifying - someone is laughing that they were paid that amount for this structure.

Enjoy 6 a side football here

Things are great, appropriate price, kindly staff. Like this place.

Very clean facilities, big halls perfect for 20-40 people classes.

Great gym and facilities

Adam has beautiful eyes

Great place for sports, mainly use for squash, membership can be expensive if only using for the gym. Also lines for the staff can be long but they are always nice and friendly.
S. F.
A very good gym. Might need to be refurbished, but the instructors are very competent and most of them clearly know what they are doing. Can't say the same from other gyms I tried

Staff are all super friendly and helpful. Great for people who are new to fitness as you can easily access all the support you need to feel confident in the gym. Plenty of natural light in the fitness studio. A fairly even mix of men and women on most days which is nice. Would 100% recommend!

It's great for everything ! Only one thing: gym could be bigger, much bigger because it's popular but as it is it's fine.
Update: first floor is much better laid out with free weights, benches and resistance machines upstairs and a larger free exercise area. So if you're lazy you don't have to go downstairs to work out 🤔
Also, the cardio machines - treadmills, crosstrainers etc. have been dragged into the 2020s with updated displays and connectivity functions. In other words, you can watch your favorite binge eating YouTube channel while working out !! Yummy !!

Cool place to exercise your favorite sport and/or training routine, also very friendly place.

Good amount of machines and equipment to use for all levels of fitness and all workouts.

Fantastic value Wednesday and Friday mornings for those over 55. Stay Active sessions. Wide variety of activities available
C. H.
A great gym and sports facility, open to the public as well as students. Has large air conditioned two-level gym, sports halls, dance studios, tennis & squash courts, astroturf football pitches, coveted tennis courts, cafe and friendly staff. Could be five star if it had a pool...

Great sports centre. Good service
A. G.
Amazing facilities and is right on campus for students to go and play or workout. All the sports and activities are available.
D. M. F.
I use sportspark only for the squash courts which are probably the best in reading. Well maintained. The gym is also in great condition and has everything you might need, the only issue is that it's constantly busy.
O. M.
Great first impressions. They sell food and it's cheaper than the student shops. The facilities are great. Staff seem friendly enough.
O. B.
Amazing facilities, very well looked after and the staff have been a great help

Fully refurbished gym with lots of kit. Excellent rates for over fifties through their Stay Active program on Wednesday and Friday which includes access to gym, classes such as Pilates or Zumba, tennis, badminton, squash and table tennis
D. N.
Great facilities from gym equipments to tennis courts.
J. A.
Great value for money facility. We booked table tennis for and hour. Great fun. Loads of space. On site free parking.
E. O.
Great squash courts
S. P.
Well equipped and modern gym facility with excellent classes for groups of all age.
M. L.
Such a good price with the biggest diversity of class I've ever seen. Highly recommend to both students and the public. The only change I would make is to increase the size of the changing rooms as it can get a bit crowded at peak time.
I particularly recommend the fitsteps classes!

This is a lovely gym. Membership can be expensive for non students/staff, but you get free access to all classes (which runs 7 days a week, all day, even outside of term time), and free booking of tennis/badminton/etc courts.
The facilities inside are clean and well maintained.
The reception desk is very friendly and helpful.
The little cafe offers paninis, coffee, and even protein shakes.
The gym has two floors - weights on the ground, and a HUGE range of exercise machines upstairs.
They offer a monthly, reduced price, outside of term time.
Highly recommended place for all forms of exercise.
V. V.
Amazing and modern equipment in the main gym area. 2 floors of bottom for weights machines and top floor for cardio.
My only gripe is the bottom floor gets too full, and I get nervous there
S. V.
Cheap for students, pretty nice place, could use a pool.
S. L.
Great gym, good mix of classes. But no pool/sauna.

C. C.
Good gym, can be busy at times
W. H.
Well-equipped gym with very friendly staff. Weekend opening a little restricted.
A. R.
Good location however extremely busy. The membership is to high for most.
M. J.
Play badminton here. Its good, not much crowded and can easily book online.
J. P.
This place is great and if your planning on a class the instructors are amazing
S. V.
At points very crowded, as any gym. Dumbbell weights scattered on the rack so that couod use some fixing. All and all a solid gym with tweaks to fix.
S. K.
Everything you need in one place. Consistently good classes and timetable.
V. M. H.
I play badminton. Facilities are good. Easy to book courts through mobile apps.

Nice facilities!
t.
Not that great for what you pay for. Has decent air conditioning and running equipment. However, the bodybuilding equipment is outdated and the music is very annoyingly loud.
R. W.
Great wide ranging facilities here, particularly if you like playing squash or other fringe sports you can pay an additional membership fee for use of these which is a great option.
They have an online booking system which works great from your computer but the mobile Android app constantly crashes on the booking app and I overheard others talking about it between themselves too.
So many sports on offer at a great membership price, you're not going to have the luxury of a high-end gym facilities but you certainly will have access to a while host of choices.
The staff are always super nice and friendly too.
Overall I recommend the facilities for anyone, if they fix the Android (can't say if iOS has issues) app problems then it would be amazing.
if you're into or interested in Squash, there is a squash club we joined on Sundays who were more than accomodating for beginners and the guy who runs it (Richard) is a delight and will point you in the right direction.
S. W.
Good football pitches, reasonably priced for an hour
G. M.
Over £8 for a single entry, really not worth it, it's constantly busy and they should introduce a 2 tier membership system for on and off peak times
C. M.
We went for the toddler session on a Monday morning. The kids love it as there are lots of toys and a bouncy castle.
M. C.
Lovely coffee shop
A. G.
Decent place. Some of the facilities need some repair

Amazing place for badminton and other games. Highly recommended
m.
Great gym for the money.
H. G.
Always a good temperature and well lit. Music varies as to which PT is on, though it's sometimes difficult to hear your own music over it.
However, due to it being a University gym, peak times occur at 5ish until 7ish and it gets especially busy at the start of term-time or in January. Probably needs some more equipment on the bottom floor.
The new matted area upstairs is a nice addition. Students get a lowered rate, as do staff and Alumni, however if you don't do the classes it can be expensive.
Parking is free for 2 hours (Make sure to get a ticket if you need to), there's a cafe and there's a Boditrax machine as well.
J. W.
Instructors are brilliant. A bit small and overpriced for my liking.
Z. C.
Friendly staff and some of the best instructors ever!

Use the astroturf pitch for Football games. The pitch is in good condition and you have access to the sportspark, when the pitch is booked, to use the bathrooms and drink water from the fountain.
