A nice place. Bowling lanes looked clean and in good repair. Scoring computer was easy to use. A few arcade machines.None terribly old. Diner and Bar too. Good quality and good value. Some items from menu can be ordered to be served at the bowling lanes. Staff all pleasant and friendly. Special mention for Katie who served everybody with a massive smile at all times.

Went here last night, great bowling venue, would be a five star but my booking time was slightly different to my online booked time was meant to be and the arcades lack space. The place was clean, tidy and well presented. When we had a lane error it was dealt with quickly by staff

I first came to Hollywood Bowl a couple of months ago on an evening out with my partner. The system of topping up credits and saving tickets on your card has meant that we can go back all the time, even just for short amounts of time without it being a waste. Although to have the ability to go here and not be there long, or spend too much money is near on impossible. The atmosphere and super friendly staff just entice you and all you know is fun (and forget about saving money). One staff member really stood out to us, engaging in smiley conversation for the 2 nights we went in a row (oops). Will be going back a lot more and I recommend you do the same!!!

Had the vip side of bowling which was good your own corner space that you can enjoy in private , service was little slow maybe because it was busy , the food such as burgers and sharing snacks can do with a flavour and maybe not looking like a child plate meal same as the amount of fries, Also would advice for the bar side that they look and wash their wine glass before surviving it out as its not the first time i been passed a drink with lipstick print on them which they done another drink and gave another glass once I pointed it out but for it to happen second time was just too much . Other then that it's a nice little spot for kids and adult to enjoy now and then.

Went bowling with partner and daughter, first time I have been here, extremely impressed with the online booking. Once arrived there was a one person on the front desk, as it became quite busy, the staff member was actually very fast working, infact so efficient, that the queue was gone in under 5mins, once signed in, we waited an 1 hour playing the arcade machines, unfortunately one of the ticket counting machines stopped working, we went back to the same guy, and straight away rectified the situation. Then we went to the bar for drinks, the Carling on tap wasn't to my taste, I went to the bar and asked if the barrel needed to be changed, again same guy, changed my drink with no questions asked. I was so impressed with the staff member, not only did he provide the best professional service, he was everywhere helping colleagues as as well as the public, massive thanks Phil, really appreciate all your efforts and see you all soon! Definitely recommend this place for a family trip!

Great Hollywood bowl experience - we were even able to wear our own shoes. We were able to book on the day for two games. Staff were friendly and full of energy, especially a young lady who served us who was so engaged even to the last minute when they closed at midnight. Had fun in the arcade section as well. All other facilities fairly normal.

Booked bowling for myself and my son. We booked the bowling and some food and drinks. The place wasn't to busy, we bowled it was clean and tidy, and staff are helpful and clean between each session. We enjoyed the bowling and the bumpers were up for my son and went down when it was my turn, it was efficient and didn't have any problems. We had some food and it was nice. All in all had a great time, oh and the arcade is fun.

Lovely bowling alley. The run up is a little short. The staff are very friendly. Parking is literally next door over. So you can park in the parking garage. Nice food and the prices are very reasonable. Great for groups of 4. If you want the more elite experience there is an exclusive area that provides a lot of extras for the price. There are lots of arcade games and d entertainment for youth and children to play. Very clean place and well kept up.

Took my nephew for his 6th birthday here. The staff were all warm and friendly and extremely helpful. We had food and drinks, which were really nice - pre booked as a package with the bowling. There was a guy attending the lanes, think he was called Phil, who went baove and beyond in making us feel welcomed. Best bit, you can choose who has bumpers individually on the lanes, and change your mind part way through.

Good place for a quick bowl, has everything you'd expect from a bowling alley to be honest. It's nice and modern and feels a lot less run-down than most bowling places I've been to, and food+drinks prices were reasonable too (though still on the higher side). Pretty easy to book and not too expensive to play in either! It also has a mini arcade round back if that takes your fancy (though the selection isn't huge) and a pool table up front. Overall very decent!

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday here together with her friends. It is well organized and the lanes are preset and ready for you on arrival. The food and drink was good too. I would recommend it, we have already returned for another game ourselves already too! Enjoy!

Its a good place to catch up with people if you don't really care about listening to them, as obviously a bowling lane gets quite loud. Smooth lanes, reasonable drink prices and a little arcade where you can win tickets and exchange them for various pieces of plastic rubbish. If you can't enjoy yourself here, you must be quite a miserable individual :)

Friendly staff, knowledgable about their products and their role. Guidance for bowling were made simple and straightforward so there was not any complications. Arcade machines had some technical issues but that’s bound to happen, which were resolved in no time. Prices were a bit high, but all things considered it checks out. Pool table were always occupied but we managed to have a game. Generally always busy but overall good place.

Second time had a few hiccups, we were moved lanes twice round, the system crashed twice (not letting us finish our game). However the staff (despite being stressed as the problem seemed to be occurring with the other lanes as well) were friendly and offered us another game at no extra cost. When this game was also interrupted by the system crashing, we were given coupons to come again on another day.

Great for bowling, plus a fairly large selection of flashing arcade games. They have table ordering, but it didn't work for us for some reason so we had to go and chase it up. The selections on the table ordering seem to be more limited than just ordering at the bar anyway.

Great place we enjoyed our night but the Pool table cost 1.50 per game and the cues had no nibs and they only had one set of cues amd took them away to be fixed!!! Arrived there at 8.30 pm. Got to book for 10.40 pm game. Asking for student offer for playing 1 game. But the cashier told for this case this offer cannot be applied. But before this, another friend mine managed to get offer even for only 1 game. So yeah. Apart from that, everything's good. Friendly staffs over here. One lane can fit up to 7 people (i think so)

Enjoyed a night out bowling but had forgotten how loud these places are, music and arcade machines just add to the overall racket, not somewhere to go if you want to talk to someone. Regular cleaning taking place during our visit and friendly staff. Not sure I like the bowling pins being attached to 'string' in the good old days they would never slide across the floor and stayed up...I felt robbed of a few points🤣

Very nice place, nice atmosphere, decent price (we had a deal for 50% off). Hand santier and glass divisions between groups of people which is nice. Only supposed to use specific coloured/styled balls for your lane though, which is fine except the balls sometimes automatically go into the side of the rack closer to another group, which means that rule doesn't really work very well. Definitely recommend the place, there's a bar, pool tables and diner too which makes for a nice place to socialise

Decent covid-regulations in place, such as plastic screens. Didn't look like they necessarily enforced mask wearing for everyone (although it might be difficult for those who have drinks). Pins on strings seems outdated, and sometimes when they were knocked over, but "stood" in the gutter, or behind their regular place, they would be counted as still standing

First time we have taken the kids bowling and they loved it , from when we arrived the service was great we were even given the VIP section so the kids could have a bit more space in a booth .My daughter who is 2 fell and hit her ear while she was there and the staff were excellent especially the manager ( I think her name was Debbie ) she got the first aid kit and helped us , and even gave my daughter some little treats to cheer her up . Food arrived quickly and social distancing was all laid out really well . Good arcade games and nice clean toilets too . Definitely a 5 star from us .

I actually love this bowling alley, the staff are great, particularly Joel who I think is one of the managers but he's super friendly and always seems to have a smile. If you sign up they're sometimes offer you discounts on certain days and would love to see these happen more often but I can't complain about the fact they do it at all so that's great!

However the game itself was not great as some pins would come down when already hit. This did get sorted but the game was already ruined by that point. (Worked out in my favour) Bar staff are really friendly also. Service is incredibly quick! Arcade games are fun and exciting, except those claw machines are definitely a challenge to say the least...

A wonderful Bowling experience with my family! My 4 year old daughter throughly enjoyed the bowling and ticket machines to win toys. We visited in October last year during the last week.

Not a bad price. We paid for 2 games and got a free drink (alcohol or non alcohol). You can wear your own shoes provided it covers your heels and toes and they're flat. There are also a variety of arcade games there too. But you have to purchase a card and you put credits on the card. Staff really friendly and helpful.

I recently came to hollywood bowl with a group of mates. We had a great laugh and enjoyed it a lot. I would like to point out that the waitress serving us was really polite and hard working, i think her name was jade. She seemed to be doing everything from working the bar to the tables and even cleaning up around the lanes. She did incredibly well as she was alone most of the time i was there but all in all i had a great time and I'll definitely be back soon.

This place is clean and really nice for friends reunion. Staff are nice and facilities are advanced. But but but !!!!! We went to this place for three times within a week. And twice of them had little children running on the lanes and no parents coming to protect them. Come on parents! You can do better! You should know how to protect your kids ok??? Also, once of them we encountered a group of boys which are extremely rude, annoying and throwing bowling balls to other people’s lanes...sigh 🤷🏿‍♂️

Find that the lanes and run-up & seating area tend to be a bit short. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Drink prices are reasonable and if you book in advance the bowling can be a fair price - although find there are other providers in Southampton who offer better prices so if you're willing to travel outside the city centre maybe consider them. Also not a fan of bowling alleys that use the pins held up by string method as these seem fairly unreliable when we used them.

Went here for the first time the other week and it's pretty nice as you would expect from a new centre. Staff were friendly, place was clean, and the touch to pay system for the arcade machines was really nice (Would love to see more of these in other alleys). Drinks were a bit expensive with the cocktails being made from a pre-mix which was a little disappointing. Uses a string pinsetter system which is pretty slow unfortunately so you can be left waiting a little longer between frames.

Love the arcade downstairs. Shame they removed some of the games but it's still a great place to go with friends and family when they come around. It's always a barrel of laughs! The prizes all look pretty cool too and I'm saving up my tickets for now.

The arcade is great, although some of the machines don't work. The lanes closer to the pillars are a lot smaller so it's harder to socialise, the diner doesn't have many options for vegetarians and tables are limited. Toilets also aren't pleasant, but the overall experience is OK. If you're good at bowling, of course.

Been here a few times and it's what you expect; busy on the half term but bowling is always fun, especially after a few pints. There's a few arcade games and slots to keep you occupied if you have to wait during the busier times and a food service straight to your lane.

They sent us to the wrong lane but other than that it was clean but they were understaffed, bar tender was also lane cleaner. I understand that this will be to reduce the risk to staff but the poor person was run off their feet.

Good place to go if you like bowling. Prices are a bit high and there's only one pool table with useless pool sticks but I understand that is not their main profile. Food is okay, especially their nachos. Staff members are very friendly and helpful but sometimes the place is so short on staff you need to wait a couple of minutes for someone to pick your order or give you chalk for the pool.

A fun place to go bowling with the kids, the VIP lanes add a little extra flare but are a little cramped. Drink prices are what you'd expect to pay, haven't tried the food but it looks like standard fare for this sort of venue. Not really the venue for professional bowlers but for those seeking a fun couple of hours I can highly recommend it. Staff are always friendly and if you get a strike then someone will normally give you a sticker so that everyone knows it. My only gripe is that the finger holes on the balls are too big, even on the lighter balls.

Decided to have a weekend away and spend a lot of our free time here, all in all it was a great experience, friendly staff, machines is good working order, however I've decided to give 3 stars because of what me and my partner experience today, on member of staff was extremely rude to us and only us, no one in the building was wearing face masks so me and my partner decided it was ok to take ours off just for a minute as it was rather warm in the building, but as soon as we took them off we had a rude member of staff bark at us saying we have to put our mask back on or be escorted from the building by security. Being two shy people we obviously apologised and promptly put our masks back on but she just kept glaring at us like we where a pair of criminals. She didn't ask anyone to put there masks on, we promptly left afterwards feeling very comfortable by the experience. Definitely be thinking twice before going in there in the future when she's working

Wonderful customer service. Booked 2 games for 2, then were suddenly unable to attend. They could not refund us but gave us game vouchers valid till December, even throwing in 2 extra games. Lovely people.

Good place to socialise. We went on Thursday evening and there were many lines free. There's a bar with a good selection of drinks, they have drinks on tap etc. If you're driving to get there then you can park at West quay or park next decathlon if you arrive after 6pm, because it's free from that time. I visited Hollywood Bowl Southampton a few times and it was always great fun. Great place of you want to go out for food before or after as it's in the same building as the new restaurants.

Just had a child's party here, we booked the VIP area and kids party package, the young girl who was our host was new and was abit out of her depth, she should have had someone to guide her and help her too be honest. My daughter missed out on some of the VIP package as the host was not aware of the package and what it entails. Please Hollywood Bowl parents spend money and we expect an accurate service, I will not blame the girl as she tried, but was not supported well enough.

We went to a children's birthday party here today. The place looks lovely. The food was tasty, but small portions. SOME of staff were friendly. However it was not very organised. The children were waiting a good 15 mins before getting on their lane on top of the 15 minutes that we were told to be there before the start. The staff were very unknowledgable. The children were rushed to eat their food, staff were taking plates away whilst there were children still eating. We had to move booths due to the incorrect ones not being reserved. My food order got put on someone else's tab, I think I only paid for my food however I asked for my card receipt which I never got. I will be checking my statement as soon as it clears. I would potentionly return with adult friends but not somewhere I would have a children's party.

if you go i definitely reccomend booking online first. If you do not, expect the the place to be packed and long waiting times for the next available lane. There is a pricey arcade to spend your time in whilst you wait, an ATM if you have no cash. There are buzzers that ring when your lane is available. The bowling experience is brilliant, you can get VIP lanes where its relatively quiet to the normal lanes, unfortunately thats about VIP have to offer. I only went in VIP because we were on a tight schedule that day. You can get members of staff to get food and drink for you whilst you bowl. Came here with some bird I met on Runescape back in 09. Bowed out of bowling and went into the arcade for a few games as she actually thought she could beat me (she did but that is besides the point). Slightly disappointed by the lack of arcade games compared to many other outlets; there was no basketball game which is the main reason I go to any Hollywood bowl. But despite this, the staff were friendly and there was a great selection of prizes-I ended up getting a slinky which was surprising considering I lost both times on the piano game (it was very generous with the tickets it gave). In regards to the claw machine, avoid playing it as they just bring misery like all claw machines. They are the biggest evil on this earth and I grabbed that toothless toy fair and square only for it to 'drop' at the last second. I'm digressing, but overall, I had a great time with a pretty great person.

Went out for an impromptu bowling sesh. They obviously do snacks but they do do jugs of your preferred lager or beer. Which was handy for the 4 of us. However it only really saves you pennies. The bowling itself was good fun. With the rolling bars for children or inept adults and various bowling ball sizes. The pins are interestingly held up by cords. This makes for quicker resetting of the pins but may deny your pin from knocking others over or... visa versa as the cord close lines an unsuspecting pin! I think the bowling alleys are slightly shorter than average? Overall good for a bowling alley. =)
