Reviews of Tenpin Southampton

Helpful staff, great lanes with laser quest as well.
D. C.
Nice relaxing place to spend a few hours with the family weather that be bowling playing laser tag or trying your best to break out the escape room, also have several pool tables In the bar area to entertain yourselves. Plenty of money saving deals to help keep the cost down when going in large groups or just a pair.

This venue is only worth a visit if you can trade in multiple faults for half price drinks on teusdays, almost every other game either the scoreboard faults, balls get stuck, pins drop/wobble on reload but £9 for 4 pints.
Every time I've been to the arcade it's a toss up on what ones work, that's if the change machines are working but £9 for 4 pints.the small amount of staff are very helpfull and trying but lack of employees means it takes time including the bar queue but when you get there £9 for 4 pints.

We had a get together for a 12 year olds birthday. There was 10 in our party including 4 children with ages between 5 and 12. Everybody enjoyed themselves with even the youngest managing to score "a strike".
I've not been for a while but you could see it was a very popular family venue which is much needed in the area.

I loved it here. They have so many things to do it's hard to get bored. The tickets are very cheap for what I was expecting it cost 4 people £20 for 2 games for bowling. They have lights above the pins that have a rainbow effect. Which makes the place look more interesting. They serve good food and drink. The staff are very helpful, we had multiple problems with one of the pool tables having 1 missing ball and the change machine not working but they were all fixed by staff in quick time. They have multiple pool tables for £1.50 a game. They have a small arcade with a basketball machine, ice hockey machine, punching bag and much more. They have 2 ping pong tables. I have been multiple times and will go again.

We went a few weeks ago for a company 'Summer Social'.
Now as you can see from a lot of the comments, this place is very run down and in need of a serious amount of investment...
We started at the bar, whitch seamed well stocked, barman seemed helpful and got all the drinks right there was like 30 of us
We then went bowling, didn't seem to encounter any problems as mentioned in previous comments outside the warn and battered upholstery of the dated benches.
Food came up and was basic, but was OK for what it was if anything a little small...
If your after somewhere cheep and kid friendly I'd say this is your place its not red carpet but hay approach with a open mind...

My son was due to have a laser tag party at the end of last year but caught covid the day before and were very pleasantly surprised to receive a full refund without a problem considering the short notice we gave. We finally managed to get round to re booking his laser tag party here the other day - he loved it and was talking about it all afternoon. The lady dealing with us was also pleasant and friendly who made sure the table was set up and drinks re filled. Sure the toilets were a bit dirty as the afternoon went on and there wasn't a huge amount of food for the party kids but overall good experience for first time here :)

Very good price for bowling, I like cheap is this climate, but everything else is jacked up to cover this. Service is poor, guy behind bar severed me after walking off to have a chat and dance by himself. I was the last person in a que of 3, on a quiet day. It then took 35 minutes for chips and I didn't see anyone else with food.

I went there for the first time recently and I was impressed. Drinks and food are very cheap for what you get and the price of the entertaining is even lower! Cheapest bowling I've ever seen! Staff were all very nice and it felt like a proper family place where you can also go with your close friends/friend group and still have LOADS of fun!!
C. O.
Helpful staff, great lanes with laser quest as well.

Absolutely loved it! Been a long time since I'd actually been here, but worth the wait! Had 2 games with the misses and the family, she absolutely smashed me in the second but I won the first game 134-94...the second 99-85😭.. Jammy devil!...Great time out can't wait to go back again! Was very busy but service was excellent!! Dividers between each lane! Can just go ahead and order drinks and food as usual...plenty of spaces outside for parking, disabled friendly, masks needed to just get in but after that optional, great to be back there again! 5*

The price is the main redeeming feature here. All the balls and equipment are battered and tired, looking like they've not seen any investment for years. Everything's a bit grotty and grim, but it's so cheap that we put up with it! We had a good time, and would go again, though.
J.
Very very cheap bowling, however the facilities haven't changed as far as I can see in over 15 years, it's exactly how I remember it from back then. Lots of pool tables to play if that's your thing.
P. W.
Great value and friendly staff.
Looks tired in places but still a bargain in comparison to other bowling places.

Family birthday party. Booked 2 lanes. One group had to be moved twice as lane shut down, and our group finished last game half way through, so we gave up. Disappointed 😞
Z.
Under staffed and aging equipment. Very much due for an update but the fundamentals still work.
They have pool, bowling, table tennis, arcade, escape room and even laser tag. So a lot of options for all ages.
Plenty of parking just make sure you go the right way.
L. H.
Good bowling experience though a bit dark.
The amusements eat up cash, so bring plenty. Our group spent £120+ on them.
Laser quest and escape room experiences also.
Went on a Saturday and it was quite crowded.
Gave an extra * for having masks, gel etc at the door. We'll done.
d. s.
It's fun and very cheaply priced has an escape room area and arcade and obviously bowling plus the foods really cheap not best quality but certainly edible
P. S.
Good value and good fun. Slightly slow at the bar but staff are friendly and apologised for the wait. Some moderation would be good but it is a great place to come for bowling, lazar quest or escape rooms!
M. W.
We had an ok experience with our first time here. It wasn't very organised though the staff tried to be as helpful as they could considering there wasn't many available.
M. G.
Really well priced and the staff were super helpful and really accommodating. Nice range of things to do all under one roof!
T. E.
Everything is laid out well but the hygiene of the place and the food was disappointing. No cheese or mayonnaise on the burgers even though they're advertised as so. Had to request sauce for it to take over 10mins. Food turned up cold and I could see the fat dripping from my partners burger.
The sides of your chairs need cleaning as the one in particular I was sat on had dirt caked into the sides as you can see from photos attached.
Seeing as we popped in at a quiet time of day we'd of expected service to be better.
B. M.
Fun and affordable only disappointment was the food too pricey for a small portion eve a big mac is better for cheaper and the slushy had no lids obviously the spilt everywhere waist of my money either than that it was fun
E. W.
Good for family fun, not too bad a price for 2 adults and 2 children
G. S.
Good range of facicilities, from bowling, to pool, table tennis, laser tag and now an escape room, plus an arcade for the kids to spend even more of your money.
We went for our kids birthday party, to start it was a little disorganised, no one told us where to go or what to do, then we get rushed because the other team were already being dealt with.
The kids seemed to enjoy it so that was the main thing. The area that is out of the way in the far corner for the parties looks a little tired and run down, the staff were friendly enough and happy to help.
I did stroll to the bar whilst there, and soon wished I hadn't.
I was waiting in line for 15-20 minutes, the first 5 of those there was no one behind the bar and I had 4 people in front of me. Once she did arrive, she took a sip of a drink then disappeared off the other way.
She soon returned and seemed to take forever to serve each person.
Two people I know were also there, to use the bowling, they were very disappointed as there were endless problems with the lane, from the sides getting stuck to the game being out of sync, so I doubt I would go for the bowling.
The escape room looked very well done, the write ups seem good and the lay out in the entrance to it is very well done so we may have a go at this some time soon.

Played 2 games today was served by amber (pinkish hair) who was very friendly, she was amazing and helped us a lot even when our 2 children wouldn’t stop talking to her😂Also harry who was behind reception with amber was great! he helped us with a few different things and went out of his way to make sure the children had fun. had such a good experience, will definitely be coming back again:)
y. f.
Ok so the screens could do with updating as you can't really see them. With regards to the seating as in previous pictures, this looks like the same lane we played in but it didn't bother us, just looks like customers don't care how they treat companies property. Yes it could probably do with updating. But we travelled to Tenpin Southampton from Bournemouth as it was our daughter's football team night out and we really enjoyed it. The differences between the 2 are:
Bournemouth £32 for 2 games in the week, Southampton £10. Food in Bournemouth took over an hour to bring a bowl of chips (nearly finished 2nd game).
Bournemouth have to book or you could wait for ages to get a lane.
Lanes stop working all the time in Bournemouth as the pins just drop down.
Even though the screens are not the best in Southampton, it's what you make of it and we had a laugh. We even decided that the next time we go bowling we would definitely go back to Tenpin Southampton.
L. H.
A bit too busy for the minimal staff who were clearly rushed off their feet! Nonetheless they were all helpful and polite when we needed them! They definitely deserve a medal! Good cheap and cheerful afternoon and played pool/used the arcades too!

The Bowling Alley was buzzing Very busy Great atmosphere friendly people and staff were lovely Had a great time lots of families the young children we were with really enjoyed theirselves There is lots to do after bowling Lazer Quest/ Table Tennis/ Pool Tables / Bar /and Amusements
A brilliant fun day out !
V. G.
Ive been going here since i was a kid and now i bring my own kids. Always have had a fab time. I just wanted to say about a young lad who was walking up the alley to sort something out on the lane next to us as my 6 year old son bowled and knocked the last 2 pins over, he clapped. My son was over the moon!!
m. s.
Nice staff arcades expensive decor bit dated needs to merge with green king or soons. needs a little more, Ballons certificates e.c.t ice cream pop corn
K. C.
Second game crashed and they couldn't restart it which was a shame. Toilets were flithy with used sanitary products on top of the bin which was absolutely disgusting. Bowling good for the price but need a complete refresh
C.
The place is pretty old and tired but for the crazy cheap price it was easy to overlook the decor and the extremely fuzzy TV screens that show the score.
S. T.
Reasonably priced but the lane kept failing. That said a refund was offered without hesitation.
K. Z.
Amber greeted us and booked our session in. She was so lovely and made amazing convo with us and the kids. Harry was very helpful when our lane got jammed. We had loads of fun. It was the first time the younger one went to bowling and she had so much fun. Both of the kids absolutely loved Harry. He kept making convo with the kids. The staff really made our time amazing especially after such a long time of not being able to do anything. We will definitely be back.
A. F.
Younger members of our group had a great time, was very reasonably priced compared other bowling establishments. However food is rather slow and the whole place seems rather outdated and tired. Staff seemed stressed which is always upsetting to see.
J. C.
Lovely place for family hang out. Free parking. The arcades only accept cash. They have big bowling play area and plenty of pool tables which cost £1.50 per play. There is also table tennis at the back which you can rent for £7 per hour. They have photo boot if you fancy some pictures.
Escape room, but have to book in advance. Toilets are clean and fantastic customer service, always genuinely happy and nice. Will recommend and will visit again.
P. M.
Great fun had by all and at good rates.....just go and have fun!!
v. n.
Such a fun experience. Loved every second and our game master was amazing too. Think his name was Fred or Freddie. Would definately recommend this to anybody.
V. C.
Whilst everything is clearly old and a bit dated. (Don't expect every letter to work when you put your names in the scorecard). It's still a good day out. You can wear your own shoes as long as they are flat with a closed toe. The staff are friendly and the food is reasonable.
There's a reasonable selection of arcade machines and your can actually win from the claw machines.
S. C.
I did not have a booking, but I visited Tenpin Southampton for my daughter's birthday last minute on a weekday morning. The lady on the desk (I assume she was a manager/supervisor as she was wearing a white blouse as opposed to a Tenpin t-shirt) was very friendly and gave my daughter a happy birthday sticker which made her day. The lady then went above and beyond to make my daughter feel special. Thank you for creating an amazing birthday memory for my daughter and I. We had a lovely time bowling. I will definitely be visiting Tenpin Southampton again.
S. M.
Took my two grown up sons and had great fun.
J. B.
I visited Tenpin for the first time and it was a very pleasurable experience. I enjoyed the bowling at a good discount and I liked being able to order drinks from the lanes. There were however not many staff and we had to sometimes wait for someone to appear at the till or at the bar. At one point our drinks were sat on the bar area for a while and the slushie had actually become less ice-y. Despite this, I am willing to revisit with my friends, especially since there are some good deals on, they are covid secure, and the menu options are good.
T. M.
A very good experience, lots to see and do and the time passes quickly.
However I must enlighten or highlight the step that is masked by multicolored carpet! is a slight (risk assessment)!.
While playing pool you naturally want to take a step back after taking your shot and the back of my foot caught the step making me fall from a height in a sitting down position.
I bruised my bottom and I would hate for someone else to fall with a possible worse outcome!
(May I point out No Alcohol was involved)
Otherwise it's a cool place to take family and friends for some fun.
Z. J.
Has a little arcade, bar, pool tables and bowling of course, I think they still do laser tag.
B. J.
Quick to be served and had a great atmosphere! Definitely go again!
A. k.
its good when it not busy and all the lanes work if they do
S. G.
I love tenpin, only reason for 3 stars was because we had loads of problems with the first lane we were put on and then they continued on the 2nd lane they put us on too. It was sorted well enough but the 2 games should have taken 3 hours max and took nearly 4.5
k.
It was a complete nightmare on saturday around 2pm unfortunately the online booking system had over booked the lanes. There were alot of angry queuing people and was a 40 minute wait to just to get to the desk to either get to bowl or request a refund. However the staff were trying there best and were polite even though customers were swearing and irate.
S. O.
Went to Houdinis escape rooms, was great fun, great for team bonding sessions working out the clues to escape the rooms, good friendly staff made experience very enjoyable.
L. W.
I've not been bowling in years, but took the opportunity to take my young son for the first time as there was a good offer on. The staff were excellent with the current situation, a lot of work has gone into the layout to make it feel safe. We were in just after opening so it was very quiet, stayed for a game, played on a few arcade games, had a bit of food which was also on offer and good for a bowling alley.
I'm not sure what it's like when it's busy, but we really enjoyed it and will be back at some point.
S. W.
Great fun for the family. Arcade is awesome although there was no change in the change machine. It's started to look a bit weathered but still a great place to go.
R. B.
Good cheap place for bowling kids enjoyed there's alot
J. A.
Love taking the kids here and they love it too the staff go out of there way to help you out. They have a good range of snacks and drinks and a great little arcade all in all a great nite out for the family
K. G.
Had a lovely time there as a family with lots of fun and laughter
S. W.
Lovely family bowling trip. Very helpful staff and great atmosphere
N. D.
Went for my sons 8th birthday, he LOVED the bowling and the food.
BUT - some of the arcade machines weren't working, he didn't get all his tickets from those that did work (machines kept running out of tickets) and some machines took the money for no game....I felt bad for him
It gets 4 stars purely because the staff were so polite and friendly, though this doesn't replace the guilt I feel for my sons poor 8th birthday treat!
Go for the great bowling, arcades and staff, just prepare to wait lots
T. M.
Bit dated but you can't grumble for the price.
K. N.
The bowling itself is pretty good, however the food could have been better, and staff were not overly helpful when we had an issue. We pre-ordered food online when we booked, but had to chase it 3 times before being told there was no food order for us (the first 2 times we were assured it was on the way). We ended up having to wait over an hour for our food, by which time we'd already finished the two games of bowling we'd paid for.
L. H.
Alright alley, but the staff seemed very overworked and we waited for about 15 minutes for the gutter barriers to be lowered.
L. P.
Really friendly staff. Very helpful and smiley 😁. Spacious, clean mostly but toilet's need a spruce up. The kids loved playing laser quest and the arcade had great games. Highly recommend. They had a great offer of a bowling game and a burger for £5, which was amazing. Then laser quest was only £3 each child more. Great day, kids loved it. Highly recommend 👍
M. B.
Very good place loads of free parking clean and tidy and spaced out highly enjoyed it
E. L. C.
After many years of avoiding gunwharf bowling after experiencing a poor experience there we found this quirky little gem which was definitely worth the journey. Not only does it have a bring back memories kind of feel to it, making me feel like a teen again (I’m now 32) but it gave us an amazing family day out originally we booked for 2 games and ended up staying for 6 or 8 (we lost count haha) the food was hot and delicious with great service and mid game on one of the games our lane was jammed and we were swiftly moved onto another lane. Also a blonde lady (I’m sorry I didn’t get ur name) was very helpful in finding my daughter a ball that accommodated her fingers perfectly. We will definitely be back with extra people in tow ie family members. Thank you Tenpin Southampton for the best bowling experience with my children a treasured memory to last forever xx
S. D.
Well, I feel there is entertainment for all ages, an arcade, laser quest, bowling, pool tables, bad, table tennis ect, but sadly the quality has become rather poor.
Machines don't work, the pool table malfunctioned, the bumpers kept falling down, the Lazer quest guns kept breaking down and not scanning the hits, they aren't cleaning the bowling balls or areas (covid) and the food was burnt and dry. The tv's are outdated and overall it needs updating and a re-do, but if your there for a good time and don't mind this, go ahead.
The prices are decent, I've been there a few times and it was fun, so I rated this a 3-4
R. S.
Was ok for the price, just did the bowling. Have had kids party there before which was fun for the kids. Food is edible and staff were accommodating. It needs an overhaul and some doing up.
May 2021
Well it's been done up, clean and tidy. Loads of staff and all very helpful rushing around trying to keep their customers happy, which you can't argue with. Nothing seemed to be to trivial to deal with.
Game rates are very reasonable. Will definitely go again.
J. S.
Great place to enjoy your time with the family on special occasions or in general.
Parking is accessible and easy.
Had reservations for 8pm for 4 people, it was around £55 pounds for 2 games. We had to waited for almost one hour or so. During the game unfortunately on some occasions the pins or machinery gets frozen/stuck and it does ruin the atmosphere when your half way.
It didn't ruin my evening though, stuff like this happens.
Food & drinks are little pricey, and the arcade is great fun for the little ones.
J. J.
Bit run down but ok. Staff helpful.
J. T.
We had to book a slot for 2 hours after when we actually wanted to go bowling because it kept coming up saying there was no spaces available. When we got there the queue was out into the car park, which was disappointing, but luckily I decided to go and speak to a member of staff , while my daughter held our place in the queue, about wether we had queue even though I had booked.Luckily we were allowed to go straight in ,it turns out that the queue was people who hadn't booked ahead. We decided to have something to eat and play in the arcade while we waited for our bowling slot. The food was nice tasting as well as value for money.Im disabled and need to use light balls and a ramp to bowl but there was only children's ramps available on most of the lanes and no light weight balls in our alley.Staff couldn't help on the ramp issue so I had to go around asking people who had adults ramp,if they were using them and in the end managed to swap my child one for a adult one , with another person playing bowling. My daughter had to carry my balls to the ramp as they were too heavy for me , because I had no choice but to use what was there. We had a lovely time despite the hiccups but I would definitely recommend that people book at least 24 hrs ahead to guarantee they would get a lane
S. S. N.
Nice space but can be letdown by staffing issues which we experienced the last 2 times we went there
K. W.
The toilets stink. The empty food stuff was left piled up on tables for ages. The plastic deviders between lane seating area was dirty.
D.
Great value when you get the timings right. Clean, no issues with machines or cleanliness. Antibac around the place. Would highly recommend.
K. T.
Great staff and amazing costumer service! When greeted by a staff member ( sadly didn’t catch his name ) he took our drinks request and even made a chocolate milkshake especially for my cousin , as they didn’t have this on the menu! Our lane did have two technical issues (only minor) however this was dealt with quickly. I would of put 5 stars however the place did need a new look and modernised . However overall it was lovely experience.
B. W.
Seems to have been there forever. Bowling is great although the TVs showing the score above the lanes are very old and can be difficult to make out the information. Bowling prices could be cheaper but are fairly standard for bowling. Good prices on drinks, you can by beer and cider by the pitcher. Lots of pool tables and arcade games, and a couple table tennis. Think there is an escape room here now also. Bar food from the bar (no more Wimpy!)
C.
The technicians there are excellent, they care and are always willing to support the league and tournament bowlers when the centre allows!
k. t. C.
Needs a refurbishment and more staff but helpful and friendly staff
L.
It's a great place for parties and social gatherings, the staff are nice their and the facilities are great. The lanes sometimes tend to have errors, which can be mildly annoying, but 9 times out of 10 the staff will solve the problem quickly. Food is brilliant, and the arcade keeps the little ones busy whilst the adults enjoy a game of snooker.
C. S.
It was an okay experience of bowling. Prices are fairly cheap and the place has easy access with plenty of parking. The bowling balls however, are very greasy and slippery and somewhat disgusting. It seems as if they never wash them. Alright place for a cheap bowl but nope if you are seeking a good experience.
s. f.
Had good time with my family there. Probably the cheapest place for bowling. Honestly love it and would come back
J. C.
Really good value for money and nice and clean
E. H.
A good place to visit to amuse the kids for a couple of hours, price paid matches that of the other nearest bowling alley. The service was fine and the food was adequate, however I can only give 3 stars due to the overall cleanliness, the dated interior doesn't really help either. Just as an example the bowling ball racks don't appear to have been cleaned in months let alone weeks. I would visit again but would also consider travelling a little further to the other local venue.
A. W.
Had a really great time. Good food and we had a very relaxed time - no rushing us to finish.
K. J.
Love this place! Super cheap bowling and free parking. Also has a table tennis set up and the usual arcade games etc
c.
We all had a good game bowling, but it was so hot. It was half term and very busy, no air conditioning on. We went over to arcades, the change machines were not working, most machines out of order, or ones that were working, would take ur money, then not work, nor give the money back. The games that give out tickets also wouldn't give u the correct amount back, it would give u less. So wasn't a very fun filled afternoon.
M. T.
Friendly helpful staff, just not enough of them, the toilets are run down, hand dryers don't work, the amusements breakdown quite a bit, I feel sorry for the staff it is not there fault, I does have the feel of a place being run down by the owner. But my kids have fun there, and that's what it's all about
C. M.
My first time back here in a while but the Sunday evening offer is very good so that tempted us in. Unfortunately we had to move lanes twice due to a few issues with the machines but the staff member who looked after us was excellent, always willing to help and give us all a free game voucher for when we come next time even though we never asked for it. Excellent customer service!
J. s.
Superb evening first time for me and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good venue and competition
K. B.
Very large many lanes mostly empty this place really does need a refit took my beer back to get my money refunded, as it was dead and badly kept. One member of staff on the bar could not cope same old story.... lane controls crashed 3 times during two games.
Meal deal only suitable for children....eat at McDonald's just over the road.
Would use again but now I know it's limitations,no food or drink next time.
l. S.
An OK place to spend time with the family. Reasonably priced until it gets to the drink and food. Absolutely ridiculous. Also whenever you ordered on the app no one was at the bar to get your drinks prepared.
C.
Good fun, worth the money and lively atmosphere. Bring plenty of cash for the arcades and pool tables.
J. W.
Our daughter had her birthday party here. Good value and our host was very friendly.
Unfortunately the venue is starting to look a little shabby but fun never the less.

Amazing value for money, great party package for my little girls 7th birthday. Would highly recommend. 💖
S. Y.
Got a great deal online for1 game of bowling and burger meal with drink. Had a little wait at the door to get served but there was only one young lad on front desk bless him, busy dealing with everything.
When we got served our lane was ready so that was good timing. But we were nearly finished our bowling, and still no drinks or food came so we ended up going to the bar to get are own drinks.Poor girl at the bar had a pile of orders by the till, she didn't know about so we got drinks then finished our game. Then the next family came along and was waiting to get on lane but we still had no food arrive. So we allowed the family to take the lane while, we went to find our food. We found the kitchen door, 2 members of staff with a whole table of food just sitting there. We took our food with apologies from the 2 staff and found a seat to eat at. Lovely kind staff, however during peak time it would be good to have more staff on.
J. C.
Quite expensive when we went but there are brilliant alleys and the atmosphere is amazing. As far as bowling goes this was near the best you can get. The place looks amazing with multicoloured led light bars lighting the pins up which looks great and the staff were brilliant while busy for half term. Don't go to Southampton often but I'll try and go again next time.
We had 2 games and although the second went seamlessly the first had a slight problem when someone's shot didn't register. Didn't take long though for a member of staff to come over and fix the issue and we went straight back into the game.
Music and TV screens made everything even better and not boring when waiting for your turn again and no bowling ball had a dent or anything wrong with it when we went
J. N.
A bit over priced for adults just for one game of bowling, but it's always a good laugh when playing with family and friends. The arcade isn't the best in the world but the do manage to keep the place Clean which is good. The food isn't that good so I wouldn't recommend getting anything till after since McDonald's is just down the road. The bar is always busy, but on a clam day it's pretty fast service and they can hook you up with a game of Poole if you ask. Overall it's a pretty decent place to spend your evening with mates
M. L.
Not the best bowling alley. Always having problems with the alleys themselves, though it would be more respectful for visitors to clear up after themselves, it can take a long time for food trays and empty glasses to be cleared. However, its disabled friendly with ramps for wheelchair users, have several themed events, and a few arcades, pool tables etc to keep everyone amused.
c. b.
It's a bit of an old bowling ally but really good for the price and has a good selection of arcade games and food and drinks also has pool
A. S.
It is a good place, but understaffed. Had to wait at the reception area for around 10 minutes, because the person was busy at the restaurant.also many occasions when we went to the arcade, some of the machines were broken and there was no sign on it to tell us. So we lost money there
A. W.
Do you like ten pin bowling? Then you'll live this place! The music can be loud but that's the way these places are. They offer fast food that can be brought to the lane as well. There's a bar area for the grown ups with large screen TV. The girl on reception was very helpful opening or lane and even adding our names.
H. H.
Great arcade but the bowling alley was acting up as it didn't count half the strikes we made and often the barrier came down to knock over the pins before the ball had time to get down the alley. Staff are friendly and the food is well priced. When we told the staff about the bowling alley issues they sorted everything out for us.
J. B.
Upside, its ten pin bowling and thats great 👍 . Staff are lovely and did their best to make sure we had a good time. Thank you guys for your help and this review is not a slur on you personally. We were a party of 10, 7 adults and 3 children. 2 of them were quite young. To cut a very long story short, we had no end of trouble which resulted in changing lanes 3 times. We ended up there far longer than we intended everybody was tired and frustrated. My recommendation, sort out your equipment out. Its letting you down and your staff who have to deal with it.
K. W.
Went to play laser quest. Great fun, good arena, we were the only people in there for our games. Staff very helpful. My daughter was nervous of the dark so they left extra lights on for her.
R. W.
The staff are amazing and friendly, the atmosphere was fun and enjoyable. We had an issue with a lane but the staff moved us and were apologetic. Will definitely go there again!
c. S.
we actually went for the escape room, but the bowling looked good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
R. M.
Premises is a bit dated but had an enjoyable evening, friendly staff
M. L.
In need of a good update. One lane needed to have names entered in the front desk computer, the other kept registering the wrong amount of knocked pins. The only saving grace is the half price everything on Tuesdays. Two games and a pint works out just under a tenner so the issues are more forgivable
T. D.
Lack of staff but the one working is efficient
Z. M.
We go here once a year for our Christmas party. Modern facilities, touch screen alley computers. Very clean and tidy! Puts all other bowling alleys to shame. Well done guys!
S.
Went with a large group of friends. The bowling was great fun and the food & drink were good. We played pool too - there are plenty of tables. Staff were helpful and friendly.
J. T.
Clean place with friendly staff. The family in the lane next to us were a bit rough and their children kept running in our lane, not the fault of TenPin but still a bit annoying.
Arcades were a good laugh too, but quite a few of the machines were out of order or had something wrong with them.
T. Y.
Good offers available throughout the week. We did £10 per person for 2 games of bowling, free drink (inc. alcoholic), and a sharing food platter. My coke seemed watered down and the food didn't particularly taste good. The bowling was fun, no issues, and it was nice not wearing those awful bowling shoes. You could wear your own trainers as long as they were flat. There is also a bar with pool tables and a table tennis table, lots of arcade machines and a laser quest which seemed like it was for kids. Overall a decent night for £10 but I'd be surprised if the place is still there in 5 years time, especially with the new ten pin bowling place in the city centre.
h. “. w.
Cheap and good all I could say is needs a bit of a update and a clean but its was a good 3 games
T. T.
Bowling was okay, service was very slow. Overall it was pretty good. Wouldn't risk it for a major party or something special but for a fleeting visit it was good.
S. M.
The teenagers running the show during the day at weekends couldn't be less interested or make it more obvious that asking to have the rails on the alleys out a chore that really we didn't need to bore them with. The venue itself is nice, large and well appointed, just need the staff to be retrained or renewed.
G. P.
Place is depressing, inside and especially out. Drinks are a rip off, arcade is a rip off, pool is expensive and who knows what's going on down the end in the big empty space that used to serve food and now has table tennis tables chucked there which are, by the way, a rip off. But hey, bowling is bowling so if you can turn your back to the rest of the place, you might just enjoy yourself.
L. P.
Went on a week night. It was quiet so you can easily get yourself on an alley. Use the arcade. Play table tennis. And for those who have seen the punch game but not tried. They have one. They also have plenty of pool tables too.
M. K.
Only go there to play in the arcade, especially on the Spongebob machine but staff are polite, helpful and the place is clean and bright
J. C.
Full of drunks and staff working hard in a crappy environment. Staff were putting up with all sorts of drunken abuse while security cowered outside with a cigarette. Facilities are good but undersraffing made it unenjoyble evening.
A. B.
Great for a game of bowling, or laser quest, also does some pretty good food. Semi-large arcade that I’ve made full use of, and somewhere that people from work always talk about when we list off places to go for a night out. Would highly recommend.
T. D.
Looking a bit aged in comparison to some other local bowling halls but great fun no less. They still use real pins rather than those newer ones on strings which is a huge plus.
J. T. (.
Great place for bowling at cheaper rates but the snacks were very slow. They arrived after our games were finished
J. H.
Vastly cheaper, tidier and better staffed than the competitor over in West Quay, and due to location is a lot quieter and easier to get a decent booking.
Good value fun in a time when both of those things are getting ever scarcer...
c. o.
Friday night at 5pm. The young man behind the desk was very helpful despite having to undertake many jobs. The place was clean and tidy, with good background music and lighting.
E. F.
Always a great atmosphere on a Tuesday evening with low priced drinks
D. C.
Excellent Service Provided.
Great for family fun.
Warm friendly welcome and professional service.
j. B.
It was ok
E. T.
Great.

I used to come here with my boarding school in 2002 and I liked the Laser Tag game a lot
T. D.

T.
Used as a stop off point whilst doing the on-site escape rooms, only used the bar and bathrooms, but the staff we encountered were nice and the place was very clean.
S.
Hi i want 2 games of bowling. do i have to book it or can i just pay when i’m there ????
C. M.
Very cheap but the bowls are misshapen
A. R.
Great place for the family and friends to have a good time doing what you like. The service is good and place clean. Staff warm and professional. Prices competitive. For the young and old alike.
M. E.
Old TVs but ok for bowling
J. E.
Helpful staff and funky UV lighting. There are a few different activities here. However, when we went the staff had no change for the arcade, and the change machine was broken.
D. K.
Very good value at this point into coming out lick down £5 for 2 games. Brilliant
R. M.
Had a good night out, but they need to speed up the bar service.
W. F.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately all looking a bit run down, needs a good injection of cash to bring up to standard, boy's had fun bowling though.
L. B.
Bowling alley needs an update, screens are hard to read and all balls have huge chips which make them roll unevenly. Food is ok and prices are good.
V. W.
It's quite old and looks rather unloved. But it's reasonably cheap and always seems to be half empty, it's great to come bowling here as there's no wait and it's always quiet. Not the fanciest place but functions well as what it is.
A. p.
Wasn't actually bowling, was at the escape rooms. Amazing by the way. If you haven't done one, you've got to do it. This one was difficult, so would advise an easier one before this one. We did escape
p. d.
Great place for family time out. Or just to watch sports.. Beer is city centre prices, they have menu, and arcade and all the normal stuff a TenPin premises has.. but.. if you come on Tuesday every thing is half price.. Including the alcohol.. now, that makes a big difference in the wallet if you are taking the kids and wife. the games, the drinks, all half price or included in various saver deals.. Also i believe during school holidays they offer numerous saver deals during the day for the kids. These venues are designed to extract your money from your wallet,, so, always good to get the best value, and tuesdays seem to be just that.
m. w.
It needs some updates but now they have some experienced engineers the lane conditions will improve providing of course that the investment is there. Could be a good centre just needs money and tic.
M. S.
Had great time there with my friends. The staff is very friendly, served us nicely and granted access for table tennis as well. Atmospheric venue.
D. H.
Just popped in for a drink with a friend. Didn't play bowling, but staff were good.
R. F.
Lots of fun, was loads cheaper than other bowling places and you got a deal that came with burgers and chips included. Had a great afternoon out.
A. R.
Great place for the family and friends to have a good time doing what you like. The service is good and place clean. Staff warm and professional. Prices competitive. For the young and old alike.
A. F.
This is alright, good for a game of bowling, even if I prefer the Holywood Bowling in Eastleigh, of which they must have realised was allowing people to bowl without special shoes (unless you were wearing high heels), as they allowed to me bowl in my own shoes. Does seem a tiny bit run down in here though, but it's not anything major.
C. A.
Very understaffed .... one member of staff putting up with unhappy customers venting frustrations at him directly. Food took forever. Lanes kept crashing. Pool table (number 8) kept sticking and not eturning white ball
H. K.
It's decent, it dose what it says on the tin basically, go for bowling have fun, they could maybe improve the decor inside very 90's feel
S. b. p. e. t. g.
It's very good for the price it's very old fashioned in there and it is very great managed.
C. F.
I call it the HUB OF FUN. you can have series of fun with as little as £10.
S. R.
Great cheap bowling half the price of Hollywood bowling and staff very helpful and friendly will be going back soon
T. B.
Great place to hve fun!
i. s.
yo fam this was bare ded i walked in ye some guy shook my hand then i sparked him up cos he was like what have u got for me fam then my man by the bar was like feeling up my coke before he gave it then i was getting bare annoyed liek man just took his worcester sauce and lobbed it at mans pear shaped head the guy got so shook yea that i tore his acl then he went back to cooking samosas in the factory back in bangladesh with tamim iqbal but yeah anyways the bowling was good im a very happy customer
K.
Nice and friendly staff. Decent bowling alley for the price. Got 3 games for £7 after 7:30pm on a Sunday
J. O.
Amazing, spacious, really cheap, lovely food and table an lane service
E.
Good value for money
R. C.
I had a great night, bowling is lots of fun and this is no exception, the equipment was kinda out dated and the machines were randomly quite slow to setup the pins sometimes
D. G.
Great value for money
E. E.
Kids party good reasonable price but slow on refill of kids drinks and got mixed up with the next Lane who where drinking are drinks
J. H.
Amazing what a refurb can do to a place, a bit more up to date than it used to be and now also has an Escape room experience (Next to the laser tag), Some great food and drinks deals and other entertainment available including Pool, Table Tennis and an Arcade!
L. F.
Fair pricing but awful staff. Long wait to be seated, long waits for lane to be fixed (twice) we were compensated with fresh games and drinks.
G. R.
Today was a wet miserable day in the school holidays, they didn't have enough staff, but the ones they did have were friendly, helpful and polite. The loos and building etc look abit run down and could do with a refurb.
K. I.
Didn't go to Tenpin for the bowling, so can't comment on that, however the laser tag was great fun and only £9 for two games. Would recommend and would definitely go again.
D. M.
It's OK for a cheap hour of bowling although every time I visit, there tends to be an issue with the lane not working halfway through a game. Cheap food and drinks along with pool tables and a table tennis area.
B. M.
Shortage of light balls for kids, bit overpriced food and drink but good overall
D. P.
Took my daughter for a couple of games, the taff were welcoming and offered good advise on best offers etc, not local to Southampton but would recommend as something loca to do here. Was good time well spent
I. F.
Really nice bowling alley just outside Southampton with a big bar, pool tables, arcade games, Lazer tag and now a third party Escape Room company (space for 4 to 5 rooms)
M. S.
Great value for money and bowling experience.
Tuesdays are half price drinks at the bar, £2.20 a pint!
E. H.
went bowling 4 adults and 2 children under the school holiday saver deal, 2 games and burgers and chips thrown in, very good value for money
P. C.
Decent value when getting a deal. The lane we had was glitchy though and food was cleared away before we'd finished eating
L. C.
Really nice atmosphere and quite cheap however would be nice if they had a couple of healthy options on the food menu for those who don't want to eat junk food not even a side salad on the menu
A. S.
Amazing lazer tag experience
Z. J.
A bit old fashioned but it gets the job done, toilets are clean and there isn't a funny smell or sticky floors and is an enjoyable experience
c. R. b.
The staff were friendly and helpful food was fine not the best but not the worst this place needs a massive refit to bring it up to date same with the food a no frills bowling trip but fun
A. B.
expensive for what it is.....we had a good time but proberly wont go back, bar on site, food served i belive, toilets werent very pleasant, staff we nice enough just abit over streached i think but were happy to help us.
C. M.
Large numbers of lanes and very good value. Lots of special offers on tenpin and drinks. Well worth a visit.
Also lots of pool tables, some table tennis and laser shoot
B. H.
Went with a group for a celebration, the technology needs updating the food its basic, but for kids/teenagers its great, but im disabled so its not an ideal place for me to go.
M. C.
Great place for family evening, especially half price Tuesday. Only let down is the scoring as it is not accurate (strikes called when one pin was still remaining) But overall great fun!
M. N.
Huge bowling area, with arcade and sector7 area. Snack bar has TVs and screens for sport matches. Not expensive :) parking available.
J. C.
Needs a bit of a refurb of the seating in the bowling lanes. Bowling alley with arcade games and cafe selling burger and fries type menu. Was a good distraction from the rainy day.
s. f.
Good staff lots of lanes, large bar area, food available, arcade area, laser quest and pool tables and table tennis also. Needs a luck of paint but good value for the money .
s. s.
Good value and great fun
J. B.
Really fun place, good value.
A. S.
My son loves it here we win so many tickets to claim prizes he walks away with so many new toys and games foods delicious and the laser quest is alright too
J. M.
Good prices on certain days, fairly helpful staff, bowling balls need some maintenance/replacing. Dented and damaged
t. m.
Great wee night out and it's good that you can use your own shoes now. Good choice of drinks, didn't have food so can't comment.
L. M.
Half price tuesdays are great but the place is very dated and looks like its falling to bits. You can't find a ball without niks and gauges out of them.
N. B.
Could do with a make over, clean, slow service as only one member of staff!! We left as the queue for booking a lane wasong so we could not get a drink!!?
R. -.
Went for the arcade, pretty small but had shooting/racing/coin drops/air hockey. No fighting or whack-a-mole/stompers. Played a shooter then got tennis elbow from playing air hockey like a beast.
A. O.
The lack of staff make it less pleasant, but good prices.
K. M.
Fantastic weekend fun. The place is looking a bit run down and desolate. Quite pricey but lots to do.
H. T.
Can't really say much, my son went to a party there and enjoyed it. Beware of the speed bumps behind the building as you exit - lethal and almost invisible.
M. S.
It's adequate, but expensive to play the arcade games.
K. D.
Can get a slush puppy and get them to put vodka in it. Best place ever! Also the DJ nights are pretty good🤗
D.
The manager is amazing! Really good with kids and couldn't help us enough! He's a credit to the facility!
L. S.
Good fun,and pleasantly inexpensive
M. W.
Really good value for money. Had a good afternoon for my lads birthday.
M. A.
Typical bowling setup. Nothing much to mention but the screens had some colour issues often making it hard to read and our lanes ran in to some technical difficulties more than once.
M.
Good price with basic food and beer delivered to the lanes. Have had a few technical hiccups with lanes, but staff are very accommodating.
N. R.
Good lanes and plenty of space. Birthday parties did not interfere with other bowlers.
A. M.
Despite being a bit inconvenient to get to we still had a great experience. The staff were friendly and we didn't need to book a lane in advance.
P. E.
Very expensive. Quite tired looking place now but still good fun (when you aren't waiting for staff to fix the inevitable lane breakdown)
A. M.
A number of fouls and faults by the machines on picking up pins. Ball return clogged twice. Small selection of balls means you're normally waiting for the ball you want.
J. G.
Bit grubby, insufficient staff
L. G. B.
Good price for games, food and drinks the staff are friendly and very helpful, only negative point I have is that the building could do with being updated.
M. R.
Great for short stay with family with young children until evening around 8 pm. Hosts are very helpful.
S.
Hi i want 2 games of bowling. do i have to book it or can i just pay when i’m there ????
J. G.
It was good could of done with a few more balls with the lanes
K. N.
I used to come here with my boarding school in 2002 and I liked the Laser Tag game a lot
p. p.
Overall a fun experience. The venue is kept relatively clean and the staff are polite.
N. A.
Good prices, friendly and helpful staff!
G.
Nice atmosphere, reasonably priced if you go off peak, you can play unlimited from 12 noon to 6pm, worth a visit.
C. P.
Good place to have fun, of course I won 🏆 😎
D. R.
Every pool table was buggered. Always needed staff assistance. The bowling was good
R. P.
The place is very tired & really needs updating you cant read the screens, the TV screens are blurred, the hand drying work in the toilets, it just feels so dated
F. V.
I told the manager that there was no soap in 3 out of 4 soap dispenser in the gents. Went back a week later and it's exactly the same
M. B.
Bowling lanes a bit dated compared to other modern alleys - eg manual bumpers for the kids (either up or down for whole game), old school scoring computers etc. Laser Quest staff noticeably unenthusiastic / bored - getting people in and out rather than making it an experience (no "military style" briefing or similar as one might expect).
K. C.
Good night out
J.
Went on a Tuesday and bowling, laserquest and drinks are half price. Had a great time and didn't spend much.
S. D.
Played pool and the change machine. Best change machine I know locally.
A. M.
Food VERY expensive for what you get. Great for bowling and ping pong but do not order food it's not great and expensive!
S. L.
much better than the one in town centre
G. M.
Nothing special, just your run of the mill ten pin bowling alley but the staff were friendly and helpful.
H. D. A.
Good👏👏
B. S.
Great staff, respectable customers, good beer and nice food. Entertaining arcade and clean bowling balls.
L. C.
Super fun! Friendly staff; went here on my first double date with my boyfriend, my best friend and her man ☆
V. T. T.
Amazing and nice place
L. H.
Kids enjoyed it . Could do with putting more offers on during day when kids are on holidays
S. D.
Used to go lots as a kid, went over the weekend and took me back. Good vibes and good beer too
R. W.
We were over charged and would not repay us saying thats the policy only free game. I CALL IT THEFT
D. L.
Went for lunch with friends and children in school end term. Quite good menu and room for children to enjoy playing.
L. W.
Great value, however the lanes have not been updated in over 12 years
L. B.
Good fun place has seen better days, bar staff really slow
L.
Amazing place i loved what they done with the lights but please change some of the acrade machine
B. E.
Usually empty. Old style but floors for lanes are really well waxed and polished.
n. p.
Good for Xmas work party
D. W.
Nice place friendly staff and great value
C. T.
Lots of lanes, and a variety of other games to play. Can be expensive, but also does decent offers from time to time. Disappointing arcade and food, though.
A. G.
Good fun and reasonable priced, bowling machine needs a bit of updating as it kept malfunctioning
B. E.
Nice place to go bowling, nice bar area, quite expensive for a lane for just two people, huge arcade area,
o.
Good place to have fun😊
Bowling or playing pool and wheelchair friendly too 👍
L. D.
Very dark. Food was worse than a well known mactakeaway. Bowling was enjoyed though
M. W.
The pitchers of beer here are great and make for a very interesting game of Tenpin. Bring a big group! The more the merrier.
g. c.
Brilliant fun! Really enjoyed it!
W. D.
A bit tired these days. Could really do with fixing up and modernising. But good fun anyway and friendly staff
N. W. (.
Great fun cheap can get a beer and food what more do you want...
T.
Brilliant, all the alleys worked perfectly and the bar staff were very polite and nice
S. T.
Brilliant and cheap place to bowl. Only thing let's it down is the food and how long it takes
A. E.
Outdated centre with old scoreboard screens and only six players maximum per lane. Could do with a refresh to be honest.
R. P.
Good service, however the bowling balls wernt clean amd the felt greacy and looked dirty.
T. G.
Good place to have fun with kids. Bowling, arcades, pool. Very nice.
M. N.
Always enough room to bowl, no waiting or messing around. Much better than the one in town
C. M.
Very cheap but the bowls are misshapen
C. 3. P.
Very very good bowling experience.
j. B.
It was ok
J. W.
Bowling great.. Lazer tag quality... Arcade wasn't good at all half was off, half was broken
J. C.
Call and check and find deals before you go can save you money! Otherwise, the staff and crew are quite helpful!
M. W.
Really great time! Staff very helpful! 😊 Great arcade games too! 👊
R. B.
£8 for 2 games burger and fries! Brilliant for the school holidays
O. G.
Great place...... Is old now and needs some modernisation or just fixing the stuff that is there.
A. L.
Nice staff, possibly a little outdated but it's a bowling alley and certainly offers a good time.
E. H.
With the half-price offer on Tuesdays, the laser quest was definitely worth it!
