A. C.Swindon Softball League is a fun, social and friendly place to meet new people and get active. The sport is like better and bigger rounders - bigger bats, bigger field and bigger balls!
There’s time in between each play so you don’t have to be mega fit to get involved and this also gives you time to pick up the rules, though there are plenty of friendly people to help with that.
There’s also coaching and a social/friendly league in addition to the main league to either get started in or stay in if that’s where you’re most comfortable. However, if advancing to a more competitive level of your thing there is the main league and also the option to play in national tournaments on the weekends during the spring and summer.
The social aspect of the league is not to be overlooked. Everyone is so friendly and makes playing really fun and there’s always a trip to the pub afterwards! The mixed gender/genderless aspect of softball makes it very unique in respect to other sports.
I’ve played in the Swindon Softball League for 12 years now and haven’t taken up another hobby since. The Swindon Softball League is fun, welcoming, a great way to meet new people and try some new. And it’s pretty addictive too!
