Oakengates Leisure Centre is an excellent place and means of enjoying exercise. There are excellent swimming facilities, the pool being first class to learn to swim. The classes available to learn to swim cater for all ages and levels of capability. Each class is run by a qualified instructor and the thing that really impressed was the fact that a lifeguard was continually patrolling the baths. The swimming lessons are usually 30 minutes duration. For parents bringing children to learn to swim there is a viewing gaiiery around two sides of the pool with seating with excellent views of the pool. There is also a separate sports hall where badminton, basketball and netball are available at relevant times and days. The viewing gallery also is available for the sports hall. There is available an exercise facility available under the name of Aspirations, with all of the exercise machines that make up a first class gym. In the foyer there are coffee and soft drink machines.

Hi I honestly couldn’t thank the swimming instructors for helping my daughter this week during the swimming lessons. She started Tuesday and she was so nervous and by today Friday she didn’t want the lessons to end. The staff really looked after her, helped her and we’re so very patient with her and I honestly can’t thank them enough.

Lots going on at the leisure centre and the classes and services all a good standard. The changing rooms are a better quality than my paid for gym. The building could use a little curb appeal and some seating for those waiting for example for children in classes. There are basic vending machines but no juice bar, fresh food or coffee or hang outs.

I use the gym, good equipment only problem is some people use the same piece of equipment for an hour + without any thought to people who might want to use that machine, I'm sure I'm not the only person who has experienced this

Took youngest for swim lessons. She really enjoyed it. Lovely staff and clean. Pool is a good size, about half the size of wellingtons but big enough for what we went for.

Very good facility have been playing football here for years now, very good facility’s and friendly staff the pricing is a little on the pricey side but I suppose you pay for what you get and is one of the better leisure’s centres in the area so I can’t really grumble about that. This place is OK, my review only comes from a swim perspective. The changing rooms are always clean and tidy and the staff are always friendly and helpful, the only pain is that the adult only are very limited to either 630am or as late as 930pm some nights. It gets quite busy on some occasions and people don't stick to the rotation in swimming, the lifeguards in attendance seem reluctant to correct people to swim in the correct manner. You could go to the public swim but my 2 experiences of that has been teenagers messing about. The facilities are great for the price of £4.05 pay as you go with a TLC card but it's hit and miss if you get a busy session or a quiet one and if people swim in the correct manner.

It's a good. Straight forward, state funded facility however often components are broken, the pool is cold when they have had lane swimming in which makes fun and floats with children unworkable. The facility itself save for maintenance issues is otherwise tidy and practical. The staff are helpful but you the impression there is too much compromise.

Fantastic local gym. Great facilities. Olympic squat rack. Variety of resistances machines. Good free weight area. Spinning biked and a vast array of cardio vascular machines at your disposal Swimming pool is good with sauna and steam room . tons of classes.

Good gym (but no kettle bells bizarrely !). Decided to try the swimming pool for the first time so went to the adult only session. It is not a wide pool so the three women chatting as they walked /swam their very slow lengths took up the whole "unlaned" part of the pool. The pool was cold on entry but warmed up after a couple of lengths but my goodness the poolside was filthy! As you swam to the deep end all you could see under the equipment was old plasters, litter, hair etc. Clearly been there a while. The shower area in the health suite had a lot of black mould, which was a shame because the steam room was lovely. Will give it a miss in future.

I Always go here for a swim when I'm visiting Telford. It's less busy than most leisure centres during school holidays. Especially if you go early in the morning. The building is a bit dated but it's always clean and tidy Inside and round the pool area. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

I was doing work in the gym. But what I did see was a well equipped gym. There are alot of different machines to have a great workout. The machines go to quite a heavy level. There seemed like a nice crowd in and although it's not my type of gym. I would defenetly recommend it..... also the cardio machines looked decent. They were the sort with tvs built in.
