An absolutely stunning shop. This small convenience store is a pillar of the local community, and is extremely well stocked with a variety of produce- from fine local spirits such as Welsh gin, to a variety of vegetables such as potatoes and onions. But this little gem not only provides for the villages food needs, but convenience in all areas too. Nestled in the heart of the Welsh countryside, in Strata Florida, Siop Y Bont seems to sell anything from cleaning products to artworks. There’s a wide range of celebratory cards, and artworks for everyone- from a pirate poster for children to beautiful framed local wildlife photography to make a perfect gift. But for me, what truly makes this store as glorious as it is, is its admirable commitment to stocking local produce. When I visited, in Easter, the shop contained numerous beautiful, artisanally crafted chocolates and other confectioneries, such as handmade Welsh love-spoons in chocolate, delightful “halon mon” sea salt fudge, and of course the local Sarah Bunton who we all know and love. The range of locally produced liqueurs, spirits and beers (pictured below) was also incredible, with Welsh gin, whisky, rum, brandy and vodka, as well as the aforementioned vast range of beers. But the high quality local foods did not end there, as this small shop also sells organic Welsh eggs, fresh milk and lovely Welsh butter.
Finally, what truly proved a lifesaver to my family and me was the cold drinks, which provided much needed relief during a gruelling walk.
Ultimately, the shop is a wonderful establishment, which is not only a pillar of the community, but a must-stop spot to any walker or tourist in the area.

Well stocked friendly shop and good value. Used to today while hiking the Cambrian way. It's just 1 mile walk from the trail.

Useful little shop for visitors and appeared well frequented by locals. We found snacks and energy drinks for a day's cycle touring, but the range of pre-packed sandwiches was limited, with no meat-free option. Friendly staff.
