Seems as though they hire anyone and everyone without any training. The meat section workers surprised me. Served male customers before female customers even though they saw the female customers waiting to be served for a while. didn't expext this kind of behaviour. The fresh veg and fruit is good.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and into your world foods. Plenty of fresh fruit and veg. Large selection of exotic fruit and veg. All sorts of spices. Plenty of offers. I got carried away. However I love shopping for different culinary ideas. Well worth a visit. There's also an onsite carpark. Lacking in checkouts.

Good old Azad has everything asian you want however it lost 1 star due to cashiers customer service. The cashiers tend to have really loud and silly conversations with each other whilst serving customers and its mostly rubbish talk. I dont care to hear it.

I used to shop in Small Heath but moved away from that area now near to this supermarket this is not very big supermarket but it's got lots of stuff to buy under one roof even meat corner as well fruit n veg looked ok I would say price wise Al Halal may be cheaper slightly just watch the prices on till I was charged different to what it says on shelf for 2 things but that you have to do in most of Asian shops 😡

The selection of food and offers are really good. I only knocked off one star because I advised the check out worker one of the items contained alcohol as listed in the ingredients and she replied "it can't have alcohol it's suitable for vegetarians" alcohol is made from grapes ....

The lady at the till who served us was very friendly. It does get busy here , and the carpark is a bit small, but the shop has a nice variety of foods. Additionally they were giving out free English translation Qur'ans per customer during the month of Ramadan. What a lovely gesture !

I have a reasonable car park. The staff are friendly. It offer seasonal and unseasonal fruit and vegetables on affordable price. It have halal butcher where different types halal meat is available as well as poultry. Different types of dry food and dry fruits is on the display. I also offer the fizzy drinks with biscuit. This place is suitable for the weekly shopping.

I regularly visit them every month for my usual Asian grocery shopping. Azad has a huge variety of Asian Grocery with regular discounts and deals on many items. It is usually crowded and the tills tend to have long queues with people with fully loaded shopping trolleys. You can also get halal meat (Lamb, Sheep, Chicken and some times goat). Lots of frozen food variety including fish, vegetables, samosas, chicken, chips etc. A wide variety of breads and naans. A huge range of fruits and vegetables including the exotic variety only available in the Indian subcontinent. There is a cash machine inside the shop or just opposite the store. Brilliant range of pulses, spices, rice, oils, etc.

A large supermarket you can find almost everything here at a great prices including HMC halal certified fresh meat, fruits and vegetables. They also stock al harmain perfumes and organic items health products. Large free car park with many spaces. You'll find many special offers on crisps, chocolates and drinks. This is the 3rd AZAD Supermarket I have visited, and is quite considerably larger than the other two ('Stoney Lane' and 'Stratford Road'). It has a large car park and is very easily accessible. Although, I don't live in the area, I do tend to shop there if I am in the vicinity. You can complete all of your shopping at this single supermarket with it's primary focus on the South-East Asian consumer. Fresh fruit and vegetables are plentiful, as are many more common household lines. A fresh meat counter provides all types of halal meat and there are frozen foods refrigerators that stock a variety of frozen products. Excellent for occasional or frequent visits.

Azad supermarket on a whole is great the prices set the store apart from others however the issue is the narrow lanes and that proves an issue during busy hours as it can get quite congested to get an item as trolleys are in the way or you cannot pass through.
