Had a wonderful evening at Craft restaurant. Food was amazing and the staff are first class. Our waitress Helena D made us feel very special with her knowledge of both food and wine and nothing was too much trouble for her. I would recommend Craft to anyone who wants a special night out. Thank you Craft!

Craft is quite the unique experience. Despite it being outdoor, we had the pod with 50% of the windows open. The heating in the pod was excellent with the extra blankets supplied by the venue. The menu is short and vague but is of exceptional high quality and detail. All items on the menu are British and in some cases the ingredients home grown by the staff themselves. The staff were very attentive and friendly. In regards to Covid-19, it was safe and secure. I would highly recommend Craft.

Cosy and cute little pod and great food. Worthy of a visit for a special treat.

We visited Craft restaurant recently on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was relatively busy in a safe distancing sort of way. There were a few people who turned up for a walk in and were turned away, so make sure you book. The restaurant is in a great location just by the ICC across from Brindley Place. The setting and service was excellent. We had a 3 course set menu. Starter and main were excellent. We had an English white wine which was lovely.

Took my wife here for her 30th with my 6 month old baby. It was perfect. The privacy and convenience of the pods. Enjoy your own music. Adjust the heat. Food was great and we were canal side so it was a lovely view.

We had the 6 course taster menu, small portions but very tasty and rich and different, so by the end we felt full, waitress very friendly and went through every course with us. Drinks a bit pricey but tried the local wine which was very nice and made not far away, overall enjoyed it

Brilliant experience at craft. We were lucky enough to get our own private pod which has heating and an Alexa to play your own music. Very covid friendly. The food was incredible and good value on the lunch time menu. Would recommend!

Craft Dining Rooms is a concept that mixes professional fine dining with a relaxed, comfortable lounge experience. Even though it takes up a huge space in the ground floor of the ICC, its corner position in the building means it is tucked away. The interior is modern, sleek, with subtle artful touches.
The food selection is exciting with dishes to suit vegans, vegetarians. The presentation of the dishes is sublime; a lot of thought has gone into food arrangement and pairing with crockery.
The staff were lovely, really caring and respectful. They tended to my ever want and need. I had a enjoyable meal.

Recently had my birthday meal here. cannot fault the food, the setting or the staff. the pod was clean and well explained. the staff were very attentive and the food was tasty

Place let itself down by,
Having no cider available ( excuse was supplier issues at present time..... Feeble excuse in my opinion as anyone has access to a supermarket drinks asle.. it might not be the normal supply of drinks but at least you don't let your paying customer leave disapointed). Seats are bench style fixed, not very elegant to allude from exposing ones private area for ladies in any skirt .. waiters need to gain full knowledge of the products being served and the ingredients that are involved in each menu... Plus know when to leave guests to enjoy their dining experience with their dining companions.
Toilets clean and pleasent, yet basic . Yet need coat peg in cubicles..
Overall ambiance Of craft / divide ... Pleasent and warm / romantic. Food is well presented and of high standard .

Have dined at Craft when it first opened, and although it was nice, the recent visit was better and more memorable. We had a lovely experience in one of the larger pods for a girls night out. The pods can accommodate I would say 6 people comfortably. They are generally warm and provide heating although we couldn't figure out how to use it but we were fine without it and we dined mid November on a chilly night. The pods also come with the ability to play your own music via bluetooth which was great.
We had the land menu which was just divine. I wasnt a fan of the chorizo and waffle, but some in the group did like it, I would probably ask for the onion version instead if I dined on that menu again. The portions were plentiful which is sometimes unusual with places like this doing multiple courses. The only thing I would say is that maybe the dessert option should be reviewed, it is too cold at this time of year for a Knickerbocker Glory...something a little warmer would have been perfect, I could only eat a few spoonfuls because it was making me cold and the rest of the table felt the same too (table of 5)!
The staff were all lovely and do a good job. For a five course meal and 2 bottles of wine we spent about £70 per head which to me was reasonable for the experience we had.

It's like being on MasterChef The Professionals when the waiting staff describe the food, which is absolutely amazing! Everything about the food was spot on, the way it was presented, the portion sizes and the flavours were top drawer, you can see the chef has put his heart & soul into the dishes he created. Compliments to the chef. An all round fabulous dining experience.

Expected a lot more given price. Lightening /atmosphere was a bit odd - dark yet unforgiving (unfortunately reminded me of fancy toilet lighting). Scallops was tasty but lamb was over cooked. That all being said, it was all very pleasant and wouldn't be adverse to going again if invited... Just wouldn't choose it myself!

Very nice and spacious place in a great location by the canal
It has a great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and welcoming
The meals are delicious and are well presented and at reasonable prices
It has a well stocked bar , beers , cocktails ect
If you want your own pod ,which comes with an Alexa , then book early to save disappointment
This place comes highly recommended

Lovely meal, very rich. Wish we had known about the Groupon voucher everyone else was all over.

What a great experience celebrating my son's 10th birthday.
As we walked through the beautiful flower arch we were greeted by excellent music choice which created an instant party atmosphere. The DJ, Dominic from No No Disco, was at the end of the arch and we asked him to take a few pics of us. He was more than happy to press play, walk from the other side of the decks and take the pics on our phones.
The food, setting and staff were excellent. I had informed them when booking that it was my son's birthday and on arrival the pod we were allocated had a birthday card on the table with my son's name on which put an instant smile to his little face when he saw it. Such a personal touch.
Being able to close the door on the pod and connect your phone to the Bluetooth speaker was brilliant as we had our own little party playing the kids and our favourite songs.
I would highly recommend Craft to others and will definitely be going there again.
The only thing that I would suggest is that the management change their policy on customers no being able to take the left over food. There are so many hungry people in this world and to just throw away the leftover food does not sit right with me. Nevertheless the whole experience still deserves 5 stars.

This place has seriously raised its game since the tentative opening. Now hopefully it’s established enough to survive whatever gets thrown its way because the food has been transformed. The service is exceptional and the outside space which could have been a white elephant, becomes the place to be... Long may this continue because I cannot fault it from the last few visits.
K. M.
Great place for an enjoyable eating experience, taster menu, small bite size portion full of flavour. Nice to try different options. We were inside so would have being different in one of the pods.
T. B. S.
Excellent food and service, slightly odd benches and decor. Let down by English only wine list which unfortunately cannot keep up with the food.

Craft dining room is hands down one of, if not the, best new restaurants in the Birmingham city centre area.
Having first noticed it whilst passing one afternoon I went in with a friend to scope it out and make use of their happy hour. Cocktails are 2 for 1 between 12 and 6:30 and must be of the same drink.
It was fairly quiet with only one other group inside. The ambience was pleasant with a modern design utilising greys and blacks whilst cutting it with sharp yellows, a fantastic looking restaurant indeed.
The whisky based bread and peanut butter cocktail was a new experience to the taste buds with oohs and ahhs produced after each sip. Very well presented and very well made.
I came back to Craft, having had a good first impression, to sample their food during a Monday afternoon. We were greeted by who I believe was one of the owners of Craft who was very friendly and courteous.
The menu at Craft has been well...crafted. There is ample choice without being either sparse or overwhelmed.
My starter consisted of a bhaji scotch egg with a tomato and onion chutney which I thought was a brilliant take on the classic. The yoke was still runny and the whole item well seasoned. The bhaji outer layer would have been nicer if made more crispy but a quality dish nonetheless.
Upon the table sat two simple salt and pepper shakers. The pepper was white and pre-ground and somewhat lacking in the intensity and heat one would expect.
Black pepper had to be requested with a fine black powder provided in a small bowl which was also fairly dull. I personally would have preferred a grinder to dispense freshly ground black pepper at the table at will. This is honestly one of the very few complaints I have.
For the main I had opted for lamb with new potatoes.
The skin had been seared well to form a crisp texture and the meat was cooked beautifully to a medium. Served with peas and sliced sugar snap peas which retained their crisp and fresh nature. The new potatoes whilst well cooked and seasoned were nothing to shout about.
Served with a pleasant glass of house red.
The dessert of white chocolate and lemon verbena raspberry gateaux with raspberry sorbet was the star of the show. A range of textures, not too sweet and with enough fruity acidity to end the meal with. It looked as good as it tasted. I would not change a thing about this dessert.
The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, the food is brilliant. I have very little to complain about Craft. Having had such a good experience here I was sad that it was fairly quiet. The outside is fairly unassuming and I myself would have passed by without knowing had it not been for the sign listing 2 for 1 cocktails. I hope that this restaurant continues to serve as a quality establishment and I wish that more people would visit to help them in doing so. I would recommend for anyone in the area to visit here for a meal or at least a quality (and honestly pretty good value) cocktail.

Visited with my partner, the interior was sleek and modern. There is a flower tunnel leading to the entrance which was interesting but not to my taste, I think it would appeal to a younger crowd.
The service was good, very courteous and prompt. Although not a Michelin star restaurant, I could see they were going down the fine dining experience. It was nice to see a locally sourced British menu. The food was very well presented and dishes described as you would in a fine dining restaurant.
My only quarm was that we paid an additional £25 surcharge on top our Groupon voucher, due to the time slot which I found misleading but my own fault for not fully understanding the fine print, but this negated the actual voucher cost.
In terms of food and service it was good but value for money as a fine dining experience, I would consider carters of moseley or the wilderness instead.

Superb staff, taster menu lovely, tried food I would normally not eat 😋 delicious, lamb dish Superb , lovely virgin experience, drink quite expensive, lovely day out with wife 😁
D. V.
Beautiful and spacious outdoor setting. Friendly welcoming staff. Book early for a pod experience though. Food was superb and looks amazing. Reasonably priced too. All the drinks are British too including the wines. I asked for a Negroni just to be awkward and they came up with their own version which was lovely and refreshing.
R. M.
Amazing experience! Loved all the foods on the menu!
N.
Food was absolutely fantastic, wouldn't surprise me if they get a Michelin star at some point. Staff were super friendly. When we went the set meal was £40 for 4 courses and I would say it's well worth it. We had a slight discrepancy with our bill but they were super quick to amend the error when it was pointed out. We will definitely be returning, thanks Craft!
M. B.
Loved the whole private pod concept, can get some great pictures here. Service was great, very attentive staff and since there 2 of us instead of 4 they knocked off the minimum spend. But we really didn't like the food, was too salty and the dessert was not sweet enough. Also, the pods are pretty grimey! With bird poop & alot of grime outside, and inside their was a funky smell and not that clean. If they got the cleaners in I'd have given 4 stars :)
W. B.
Really cool concept,
Service could be better food was really tasty and value for money definitly would return again it's like having your own private dining room! Cultery draws excellent British wines also which you love to see!
G. A.
Nice plaice, very friendly front of house staff, quite a relaxed atmosphere. Limited selection of menu choices, had to ask for the wine menu which was quite good. The food small portions nicely presented but to be honest lacking in taste, given a Tuesday evening they had already run out of starter dishes ( prawns really so early in the week).
Whilst there was nothing to complain about both my son and myself felt the food quality let it down, however front of house very good.
Given the prices we will most likely not be going there again. Sorry room for improvement!
N. R.
We were warmly welcomed and the service was amazing all evening. Sam's passion for the menu was contagious and he could give great recommendations. He also let me taste wines when I wasn't sure which to choose. The food was incredible, amazing taste combinations, bold but working very well together. Definitely Michelin star material if it comes to food quality and service. My personal preference would have been to have slightly smaller portions as I was already full after the main but also wanted to try the desert. But I guess I should have gone for the tasting menu. Another point to improve is the restrooms, which are not to the same standard as the rest of the restaurant. But who choses a restaurant for its toilets anyway! We're definitely coming back for the tasting menu.

Anniversary Meal - me and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary and we were over the moon with service and product provided. We decided to book one of the pods and these were a lovely surprise and perfect for the both of us. They were set out perfect for couples, or max of 4 and Alexa included for choice of music to help with your desired atmosphere.
The food, the menu is British orientated, and with the help of the staff we accompanied our food with a fine British wine, which was our first time with British wine and there advice and selection was a great match for the food that was to come.
The food is full of flavour and set-out professionally and clearly aspiring to Michelin level standards of taste while also offering a picture perfect moment for any would be picture taker.
The level of service on offer here is excellent, from a phone call made pre meal to make sure we were eligible to use the pod, to the staff on site providing excellent service and advice.
We were both over the moon with the evening, and we are very pleased to of found this venue, we look forward to returning in the near future.

On arrival- the restaurant was quite small - had a little garden with pods in close proximity to each other- not what I had expected but the location is good next to the canal , bars and clubs of Birmingham city centre. The entrance consists of a dim tunnel full of fake flowers which make for a good photo op. I thought the pricing was reasonable for a Michelin star restaurant 2 meals £35 - 3 meals £40. They have decided to not cater for vegans at the moment although there are some vegetarian options. Drinks range from £10 for a cocktail , £4.50 for larger and £3.50 for a soft drink like orange juice. Extensive collection of wines. 12.5% service charge which is at your discretion. If you book a pod it’s a £20 reservation per person- plus £30 minimum spend per person and £100 cancellation fee.
Portions - were small (we were still hungry so went to eat again after we left) but my starter was very delicious, my main was good and the desert was ok. I was overall satisfied with the food but not to the point that I would return again. Some of our party were not pleased with the main being 2 small slices of beef and a very small carrot but this is normal for Michelin star restaurants. I think it’s about appreciation of the flavour as opposed to being full.
They don’t have draught beer which didn’t bother me at all but my in-law did complain that the ‘british lager’ they were selling in a can for £4.50 is £1 in his local shop.
Waited around an hour to get our starters, which I don’t think would of been an issue , except for the fact some of our party were cold. Due to covid government guidelines the pods now have two large holes either side of the Entrance and the entrance doors have to be kept wide open. Which kind of defeats the purpose of being in a pod but the restaurant offers blankets- despite this some of our party were still cold with the pod heating on maximum. I would advise to go in the day when it’s warmer. The Music system in the pod was also not working. The USP for my booking the Craft was the pod to be honest. Didn’t really live up to my expectations and I could imagine 8 people in a pod being a very tight squeeze. We had 5 and it was a little cramped on the side with 3 people, especially when it came to going to the toilet.
I would advise to arrive at the exact time for your reservation, we arrived 10 minutes before and were told to go for a walk and come back at the exact time. Some of the waiters were very friendly. Seemed very relaxed and laid back in comparison to other places I have been to. The staff serving us wore big Adidas coats and talked slang , which was refreshing to see -as opposed to the usual - on their best behaviour and in the same uniform.
In conclusion the Pods are a nice concept I think without the covid restrictions and the USP of your own Alexa controlled music actually working - it would of been a much more enjoyable experience. The starters are fantastic but the main and desert were not that memorable for me in terms of taste and for that reason I would not return.

Had booked dinner at craft for last month with the eat out to help out offer but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to rebook for September. Staff at the restaurant were very accommodating and pleasant, rebooked with ease, there was no additional charge. Unfortunately the curfew began days before our visit and we received communication from the restaurant early the following morning and then a follow up text by lunch time to amend our visit time allowing us enough time - communication at every stage was excellent. At the restaurant our temperatures were unobtrusively taken and we felt very safe with the social distancing measures, staff wore masks, there was sanitizer available at the entrance. The interior design is very chic and modern. The menu focuses on British produce with a cool map on the menu informing you where it is all from. Very interesting wine menu as we wouldn’t typically opt for British rose. Our choice was sold out but our waiter recommended a similar wine for the same price. Our food was outstanding, from starts to desserts, seriously exceptional. Highly recommend the beef mains and ginger cake dessert. Our waiter Jack informed us that the menus change regularly and we’re already looking forward to a second visit.
G. R.
Booked a pod for four of us. Great experience. The food was excellent, between us we ordered a significant proportion of the available menu and were all very happy with our choices. The service was faultless.
L. M.
Absolutely brilliant! The pods are so cosy and even though they have to leave a panel out it wasnt cold one bit! Food was incredible and the service was outstanding ! Jess and Jake were our waitress/waiter and they were amazing! Our glasses were never empty and nothing was too much effort! 100000% will be going back absoloulty brilliant evening! Thank you!

I had high hopes for this place when booking a birthday meal for my boyfriend and I. I booked an indoor table which when I got there became an outdoor table with a small firepit which didn't help to keep us warm so I spent most of the meal with my coat on cold I would have a appreciated a phone call from the restaurant to notify us of this change . As for the food it wasn't that great either and expensive for what it was really. I wouldn't recommend eating here there are lots of other nice restaurants in that area. The only upside was that the staff were really lovely and friendly.
K. K.
They have good cocktails, and at good prices during happy hour (up until 6:30pm).
I was kinda shocked that the barman just added a service charge to the payment without asking, but didn't make a fuss when it was £12 for 2 excellent drinks.
The ruhbarb and custard one was particularly good.
Smart bar conveniently located in the ICC, so worth a visit if you've booked to see something at symphony hall.
Nice decor - it's never been really busy when I've been there, but I think it's new, so maybe needs a while to take off
j. p.
fabulous food ,the chicken was succulent flavourful and really tasty ,had the donuts for dessert ,my husband had the apple crumble with the custard on the inside
D. S.
The food was absolutely delicious with flavours that pack a punch. The chicken soup was the best I have ever had. The monkfish was perfectly cooked. The lamb was slightly chewy but the lamb belly was nice. The charred carrots were beautiful. The frangipan dessert was gorgeous. Will definitely visit again. Our server was such a lovely gentleman and made us feel very welcome.
S. P.
Lovely to see a restaurant show case British produce, cooked and served brilliantly. We ate in a pod, great experience and ambience. Service was friendly and professional, we will be definetly back. Highly recommended. Only negative was we were fighting over Alexa in the pod!!!!!
J. M.
Really tasty food and amazing cocktails.
The dining pods experience is also fabulous, with a lot of attention to details, like the bluetooth speakers or the closable doors that you can close or open whenever you want.
The portions might feel small at first, but when you go for the 3 meals course, the dishes are at the perfect size.
J. V.
Lovely restaurant with fantastic dining pods with a chilled atmosphere. Food was delicious and the service staff were top class. Highly recommended.
F. G.
starters were lovely, had a steak main which was vile. Super super chewy cut of meat and poorly cooked. Service was really good though. Won't go back is it seems style over substance.
A. M.
This was our first post lockdown meal and we weren’t disappointed! We had a truly fabulous evening. The setting is perfect along the canal with easy reach to a near car park but in a lovely area. The restaurant is eclectic and modern with a great atmosphere. I highly recommended.
A. p.
Superb food with great marriage of flavours. Whole presentation and attention to detail was first class. We were very impressed with the matched wines which were almost all English. Slightly odd location from the outside but don't let that put you off.
P. C.
New restaurant and unusually all english food, wines and beers. Choice of dishes all different prices for starters and mains which all came together and were all tasty along with some traditional english mains like lamb hot pot, venison pie and monkfish scampi. The craft trifle sweet was excellent too. Worth a visit although it was relatively expensive it was a really good dining sensation that you must try. Not to forget the service was 5* too and to mention the house DJ Dominic who played some interesting mixed sample music from the 90s and early 2000s which I enjoyed whilst we were dining.
If you wanted you could have a separate dining pod seating 8 people outside which is private.
Overall a very good experience.
E. L.
Imaginative menu married with great service and a wine list that left me pleasantly shocked at the sheer variety of British wine. Great use of their pods to maintain outdoor social distancing
A. F.
Another 'out-of-lockdown luxury" ticked off the list and I was very impressed, had a great experience. Dining was a dream, drinks were delightful and customer service spot on. Pods were were cool to enjoy, private, personal and bringing the inside, out. We will return very soon. Thank you
A. C.
Had a wonderful family dinner.
Food was lovely and great service
G. B.
Superb. Located in the ICC. The food was exquisite, truly a fine dining experience, all beautifully presented on the dishes. I had curried cauliflower, which was served with a dash of coconut yoghurt, granola and coriander, followed by confit of belly of pork, served with pearl barley and crispy cabbage. This was the 2 course set menu at £19.95, which is great value for money. Really good as a pre theatre or concert dinner. But please allow yourself 2hrs to enable you to savour the delicious food before you go to the performance. Service was excellent. Trendily decorated in grey and mustard, it has a large bar serving excellent cocktails as well as an extensive wine list. Highly recommended.
T. M. C. T.
Great fine food. Staff friendly and wanting to make your experience a good one. Good social distancing between tables. Nice atmos. Cocktails were good. Would go again.
L. D.
Food was okay but disappointed not to be able to use Independent Birmingham cards. Told we had to provide 48 hours notice and it was in their terms and conditions however they had not communicated this to IB and refused our cards. Funny enough the offer has now been updated not to include Saturdays either. Thanks IB for getting this sorted so others didn't face the same disappointment.
H. C.
What a lovely experience, when first arriving everyone was so warm and welcoming. The food was beauitful in taste and presentation. The only jib I have was we got a bit to fussed over. However ultimately would recommend.
H. R.
I went here as a group a few weeks ago (pre tier lockdown) and it was brilliant.
The food was fantastic, the staff were great, overall a fab evening. Would definitely recommend.

Really nice.
Salted beef starter, cod main and peanut butter donuts for dessert.
Good price on the set menu, food quality, decor and service all very nice too.
Will definitely go back

I took my girlfriend to Craft this afternoon and I must say what a pleasant experience it was all round, the food was superb and the owners and staff were absolutely lovely. We had a fantastic afternoon and would highly recommend 5*
R.
The tasting menu was exceptional, and the service excellent. Suggest that an offer to take coats would have been helpful but a place to relax and enjoy good food.
M. M.
Absolutely exquisite cuisine - the service was impeccable. Will definitely be dining here again.

An amazing Sunday Roast, starters were very tasty, the beef was insane😍 and the desserts were the best part of the meal. Congratulations to the whole team for such a good job.
C. M.
Beautiful food but could have been a bit warmer. Specialises in English wine, but if you want something else the cheapest bottle of white wine is £39 which is ridiculous
D. M.
Friendly welcoming team, restaurant ideal for intimate dining of small groups. Superb food, imaginative combinations, beautifully presented. Lovely meal!
