Reviews of Marks and Spencer

Visited there with family. Every section has a good Variety of Selection you can choose from food to clothing even Health & Beauty.
Very welcoming & Helpful Staff on the Floor if you couldn’t find your desire item just go to them and ask them where it is.

Visited Marks and Spencer Food Hall on 15/02/2022 before work.
Made a few purchases but some items not priced correctly on shelf so had to be checked with manager .
A big thank you to TJ who checked the prices for me on her hand held scanner. Also a massive thank you to Steve who scanned the product for me separately so I could pay and get to work. Excellent service from both staff members. A credit to the Birmingham High Street store.

Found some pretty nice straight trousers here in the men's section, this changed my life forever, the trousers were £19.50 and are teddy bear soft but also look like normal trousers the pay off is incredible
R. S.
We went to buy some trousers and bras & found the staff to be very helpful. Harv in the bra fitting section was really kind & supportive - we were really impressed by her service and helpfulness. What a lovely person & service.

Went into Birmingham High Street store as I wanted to change a Boys Marvel Dressing Gown I had bought online for another size. When I eventually found them there were only a few on the rack. I looked at the sizes on the hangers and they hadn't got size 4-5 that I was looking for. I tried to find an assistant to ask them, but there was no-one around. I decided to go back to the rack and have another look. Instead of looking at the size on the hangers, I looked at the price tickets on the dressing gowns, only to find the size I was looking for. I was delighted I found the size I was looking for, but if I hadn't gone back to have another look, I would have missed out. Marks and Spencers's customer service has certainly gone downhill, years ago the size on the hanger would be the size on the clothes. What is the point of having the size on the hanger, if the staff ignore this when displaying them.

We didn't actually get to stop and look round m n s due to my daughter becoming unwell but I must say Francis cafe manager was amazing. He made sure my daughter was ok and assisted us to the cafe. The security guard and another lady were amazing aswell. Nice to know people care! As we aren't from the area they made us feel welcome with their kindness (30/10/2021)

Good stuff but not really my style I only shop on this time round because I needed a suit for a family wedding it was good quality and under 200 pounds which I was really please with plus the staff working in this section very patience, polite and helpful it's was a nice experience

17th September 2021 i had reason to need to return a couple of shirts i had bought on line to the M+S High Street Birmingham store, this is just to say thank you to the two ladies who served me, because this is the way customers hope to be treated and how well the two ladies delt with the issue. Neither of these persons are known to me i am just a customer nothing more. The first Lady i spoke with Grace on ground floor tills was polite listened to my issue and quickly found a manager a real star and a great sense of fun a really nice lady a credit to M+S.
The Manager came over and again listened to my problem she was understandingg and polite, i had forgotten to bring my till reciept however the found my original purchase on their system, The standard and quality of service was fantastic , she informed me in polite conversation that it was her last day as she was moving on else where in the organisation all i know is Jo you are a credit to M+S
I know for experience retail is difficult but these two ladies excelled way above normal customer service Grace + Jo thank you M+S should be very proud of staff like you thanks

Great for kids winter clothing items, live the foodhall too. The meal deal section could do with less poncy but more practical choices when it comes to sandwiches.
H. H.
Very good staff and really respectful and thanks to Annie, She treats customers well
j. f.
Went to m&s cafe in the centre of Birmingham today approx 1pm.
Plates were not cleared on several tables and never saw anyone clean the tables. Thought extra cleaning was in place re covid prevention????
Bacon roll was over priced comparing to the size of the roll!
S.
Love marks, I usually only shop in the m&s food hall especially for cakes and this year was my brother 21st and we order a came and it was absolutely amazing. 10 out 10. 👏👏 The staff there are always helpfully and seem to know what there doing.
D. T.
great food hall staff friendly albert great in food hall great customer service.
toilets could do with better cleaning looking forward to new store in bullring late 2022.
X. S.
The store has quite nice collections.
C. W.
The food M&S is fab. The gluten free section is amazing!!
t. e.
I booked online for an actual bra fitting app at 1.30!! Woman turned up at 1.56 - not good when you've got back issues!!
However, when she did arrive, she was good, safety was kept at all times as was cleanliness!!
M. B.
My daughters had a bra fitting by a staff member, Manjit, she was very nice, accommodating and very helpful. She made the girls feel at ease. Thanks
S. H.
Thought I'd start early on the school clothes shop, plenty of stock wasnt busy found everything I needed. Served straightaway no cues.

24 November 2020. I was very concerned about shopping during the pandemic but my fears disappeared when I was greeted by a sunshiny smile that belonged to one of your most welcoming staff members called Ricky who went above and beyond to 'safely' assist me, took valuable time to listen to what I was looking for, was an absolute pleasure, polite, clear, informative, a total star and definitely a priceless credit to M&S High St, Birmingham. I haven't met a staff member this helpful in a long time. Bought what I needed. Thanks Ricky ... you rock :-)
P. H.
The clothing departments are good value.
The food hall is still good value even with covid 19 ruining everyone's lives.
It will take time for the store to get back to normal, I will be happy when it does.
A. C.
I mostly go for lunch, service is good, the food is always reliably the same quality and they have a great selection. There bakery as with all M&S's of this size is good and a nice little treat in the middle of a busy day. They have one of the best selections of pre made sandwiches and salads, and I've never been disappointed in one from M&S in 30+ years.
i.
I went in for a bra fitting today. Narinder Kaur made me feel comfortable and accommodated to my needs. Definitely will come back if i need to.
C. W.
Nice size shop. Rather quieter than normal all marked out well for Covid though. Plenty of cleaning between customers as well. Toilets now open but not changing rooms.
W.
What an excellent well planned and laid out M&S shopping experience should be like. Plenty of room between isles so that you can slip jackets on to try. Very pleasant staff add to an excellent shopping experience.
F. W.
Woman on the till was quite rude. Wouldn’t want to be served by her again
R. G.
M&S does underwear for the environmentally conscious, ethical, practical, active and fun loving woman.
Consistently working towards sustainable clothing and labelling so that you know what you are buying.
They currently have a sale on underwear which is great and have introduced some better cotton initiative , lace trim undies in various colours which I love!
I. F.
As a shopping destination, it's excellently located. The range is superb and from my experience, fantastic staff.
The only thing that puts the marks down by '2' is the drab interior. Considering the services M&S offers under its brand (clothing, health, beauty, cafe, bank, travel) this place should be an 'experience' every time you walk through it, similar to John Lewis. And yet it feels just 'there'. Which is a shame. So much potential.
Aside from that it's great
S. C.
Showing its age a little, but doing the job well. The staff are friendly and always plenty of stock on the shelves, well at least in the food hall not sure about the other floors. Would have given five stars but the lift isn't great.
R. N.
I normally do food and clothes shopping very good experience but I noticed few time when staff doing reduced food prices and if they see some one waiting they rolling eyes and take trays away I feel so bad for people maybe they don't have enough money so staffs shouldn't do this
J. W.
I do love Marks and Spencer 's especially at the moment! They have such beautiful bright colours which draws you into the shop. My mum bought some lovely trousers which looks great on. Great job M&S finally you have bright vibrant colours for a person who loves colour! 👍
T. C.
A decent food section not convinced by clothing. Toilets available too.
Have to say that the amount of fridge units closed because of covid 19 is awful.
Typical of M & S food goods and services are over priced.
They need to change the pricing structure to compete in todays world of shoppers.
Doubt they will though.
T. M.
Multi level store, looking a little tired and dated now.
Seem to have strange sizing on cloths unlike any other store, none of the usual sizes fit, and the tailoring seems to fit some odd body shapes.
Not many changeing rooms for such a big store.
Lots of different departments selling pretty much everything really.
Plenty of other stores around the area though that seem to have better choice and deals.
Not the force it once was.
D. F.
Purchased several Egyptian cotton towels. Numerous colours to choose from and several different designs so overall a selection available. Decent value for money and service when paying was polite and friendly.
D. P.
I love this shop. I have been coming here since I was 7 years old and I am now 60.
My mum who is celebrating her 100th Birthday on the 22nd June always told me as a child that " it's not the quantity that's important but the quality that makes m&s special.
A. R.
My favourite of all the high Street shops. You can get great fashion and food all under one roof. The staff are always ready to help. You can get some great items at a good price. I always buy my lingerie from here and my trousers as I am long in the body and leg. This store is the only place I can buy a size smaller and it fits. Which makes you feel great. Carry on M&S. Just one criticism, the fashion this year is a bit elderly looking.
U. A.
A bit hit and miss with this store. I usually shop in the food department but often find the shelves are completely bare and are not restocked for days. I would recommend going to the Selly Oak or Harborne branch if you are only buying food. Excellent city centre location though and really good links to public transport. Parking is available nearby too.
D. C.
Marks & Spencers may be an old guard of all things fashionable, but it is ultimately a purveyor of high quality goods. There is no doubts about the quality of the food in the food hall. Purchase their Scottish Smoked Salmon and try to tell me why they are not the best slithers of lean meat that your taste buds have ever witnessed.
S. S.
I like to shop in marks & Spencer, there clothes are really good and you can get them at reasonable prices, also liked the offers and sale. Returns and refund policy is very good, all staff is nice and friendly 😃
S. P.
A British institution and should be so. You could consider some of the food products over priced but you get what you have paid for. I love the clothing that you can buy for work and it is always of great quality. I will continue to shop here and always hope they can pull through whatever problems they have.
A. J.
Iconic and synonymous with quality, but even for M&S the age of internet shopping has taken its toll: noticeably less choice in variety of styles and a stripped-back-to-basics interior, especially in the lingerie department. On the plus side, M&S is still good for the essentials, your 'skeleton wardrobe', but there's nothing spectacular. However, in my view, nothing beats looking at an item 'in real life', feeling the material, trying it on in-store, so I'd say it's worth a trip into town. Just don't expect a 'shopping experience'. Only the food department is not just any food department, but the luxurious, up-market, a little bit special M&S food department. The rest of the store reminds me of M&S in the 80s...
H.
Fabulous store - hope this one doesn't close down. Lots of space inside, friendly staff of all ages. Food is reasonably priced. The fresh bakery, selling bread, cakes, cookies etc is a nice touch to the place snd way better than Greggs!. Only issue is they never seem to have the full range in school uniforms here, as compared to what they have online.
M. M.
Just left Mark's and Spencer's Birmingham with a big smile on my face due to Mary who was doing fittings for Bra's in the lingerie floor. A fantastic lady with a wonderful personality and sparkling blue eyes. I went in for one item and came out with 4. Thank you Mary for bringing alot of sunshine and sparkle into my life on a rainy day. Best bra fitting I've ever had!
b. n.
Nice store good layout fitting rooms are well managed. Some friendly helpfull staff. Only downside are the toilets they are are always full lo g ques and quite small for a big department store.
N. S.
Called in to the cafe with friends during a shopping trip, staff really friendly and helpful, food was delicious if a little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. Store well presented despite being so busy. Well done m&s keep it up.
A. B.
Thix shop is tired. It looks dated and is not the best layout with odd spread of things across two floors. The changing rooms are at the far back which reduces further the convenience of the store layout if choosing clothes the other end. The clothes are good quality and 'classic', if not a little 'safe'.
J. J.
Same as any other M&S. Average quality being sold as upmarket goods through clever packaging and display. Got left behind by the competition. Sometimes buy clothes there for my 10 years old. Nice coffee in the cafe.
K. S.
A large branch of Marks and Spencer spread across several floors. This particular store has a nice spacious feel to it with all products arranged in such a way that they are easily accessible. On each visit I have found the place is be neat, tidy and clean. Each member of staff that I have dealt with here have been very helpful and extremely polite.
P. P.
Marks and Sparks is the corner stone of quality shopping at a reasonable price. I went looking for a new suit in Birmingham. After walking around a dozen shops I ended up buying one from here. The staff were friendly but not pushy and the price was very reasonable.
D. H.
Great shop to go in,it is one that doesn't matter which dept you go someone is there to help plus very well mannered,I go maybe 8 times a year to buy clothes, but go 3 times a week for food shop the staff in this area are brilliant ask them anything and they go that extra mile last week a lady help me with chill food as I can only have non pork product as my flat mate is from Tunisia her name stephine also the lady on self serve was very kind and most helpful did not get her name (but had glasses grey hair small in build probably in early fifties, but trying not to insult her ) credit to both
A. H.
Wide range of English bakery , house hold grocery , clothing and many more items . Prices are a bit high because quality is good. Marks & Spencer name says every thing. Do have self check out and free cash point .
J. H.
Bit dated in places. Not as much choice as other stores. You may have to fight off people trying to sell you M&S energy products. Toilets are popular on the top floor
r. m.
Big shop but couldn't find anything in my size can't fit in skinny definitely can't fit in super skinny! Would be nice to find a shop that did normal size clothing. Plenty of choice in the ladies section for the normal to larger lady.
C. P.
Large shop with wide range of stock. If you're into wearing socks and maybe even underwear they have a large men's section for all those things. Overall there is a large men's section but the suits are limited by the available sizes. I also understand that most Marks & Spencers don't stock long/extra long shirts/jackets/trousers and they usually have to be ordered in. It's good that this can be done but not ideal if you want to buy something off the peg.
S. H.
Very wide selection and generally a pleasant place to go shopping. Cafe's nice as well. There is however nothing for sizes 14-15 and 15-16 but that isn't too much of a problem since the store guides are very helpful.
K.
I love M&S food my 9 year loves coming food shopping, not only do they have variety. But it good to get the relationship with food from a young age .
She has tried Mussels which she loves
With all her green too .
Thank you to the chefs at m&s
A. T.
Me and my boyfriend went before valentines day to buy the valentines deal. The food was lovely and okay value for money. We used the self checkout so I can't comment on the staff however they seemed helpful when we saw them helping others.
P. B.
Their buyers of fashion need replacing many of the mens and ladies clothes are hideous.
J. B.
The food hall is the best part of shopping at Marks and Spencer however I have been to much better ones. Manchester city centre has a far superior food hall which even has a deli counter. Fashion wise Marks and Spencer is so lagging behind. Staff are very friendly though.
T. S.
Always a pleasure to shop here early in the morning. Good selection of men's suits and shirts. The availability of toilets and a cafeteria make this solution ideal. Staff always friendly and helpful.
E. M.
First time when I walked in I was a bit sceptic about the quality of the clothes but when I had a better look there are alot of things for every pocket.
I bought shirts and jeans at 35£ with an extraordinary material for that price ofcourse.
They have very nice jackets but if you want something a bit fancy as well you need to pay from 70-90£.
Absolutely lovely!
A. M.
Great store! Love it! Nice and pleasant staff, good products. It might smell as vinegar in the M&S Coffee, but it's a place to eat, so...
L. L.
Excellently set out for social distancing, felt very safe and very pleasant way to shop and no queuing either . Lady on ground floor was brilliant with advice to help me , excellent service 😀.
C. K.
A nice sized store over 4 floors. It has everything from clothing, home ware, food and a cafe and food to go counter. I've had some great service in the store on menswear and the food to go counters. It can get quite warm in the store so I've given it 4 stars as not the best environment to look around in but still a good M&S store.
P. G.
M&s has always been a sign of great quality. The food floor is fantastic.. If you're throwing a party I'd recommend investigating their desert and snacks as there's no better place in town!
A. H.
Good selection with many levels to check out. I didn't buy anything although I ate at the cafe. The cafe queue was quite long at lunch time, but it would be worth coming in for a drink when in town, outside of peak hours.
J. H.
If a gentleman reaches a certain age and a certain size he will probably visit Marks & Spencer's menswear department eventually. He will be pleased to find comfortable sizes in youthful styles. Ì do look at other shops but usually end up buying my clothes at M&S. About other departments Ì have nothing much to say. Ì hear that the food is good.
C. H.
My wife and I were clothes shopping in Marks and Spencer, really enjoyed the experience. The clothing department is well laid out, with a good selection of clothes. We didn't use the cafe, but it looked appealing.
c. f.
Huge store with so much to offer. The only disappointing thing was the lack of organisation in the cafe. It took over 30 mins just to get a couple coffees. They could use a separate line (express line) for drinks only customers.
m. s.
I struggled to get a globe gin, two Male staff was not very helpful ,however I know the job is long hours on their feet. So I understand. I sat on a chair at the back of the store and phoned Erdington branch and a female staff was very helpful. The staff checked and directed me to Solihull but the information on the system was not correct. I am waiting on knee surgery so you can imagine the pain I was in . I'm so sad, all that pain and no Globe Gin for Christmas. Please bring some more. Thanks Margaret Sylvester. 😂😂😂😂😃
J. I.
Great mall with variety of apparels. I got my formal shoes here. Quality wise it is superb. However the interesting thing I found that the shoes are made in India, which is my native country :-D.
S. P.
On the whole it was good except that when I entered the shop I saw a lovely yellow and black tartan skirt but I was hungry so went and had a Christmas dinner which wasn't brilliant I'm afraid but when I came back to look at the skirt which had been on a minivan it had gone and I couldn't find one anywhere. I was very disappointed to say the least.
A.
I cannot comment on the (largely women's) clothing range but I find Birmingham Marks convenient, because of where it is situated, to use it as my Food Hall, both for my general grocery shop and as a convenience shop, and have done so for a long time now.
Marks' food has a reputation for being rather expensive (along with corresponding recognition of its being somewhat up-market in terms of quality). Shopping there regularly and with care, however, reveals that it can actually be surprisingly reasonable in terms of cost.
This is particularly so because of the relative frequency of yellow-ticket offering using which, where judiciously, can at times cover almost an entire weekly shop.
Not surprisingly, a great draw for pensioners and other discriminating shoppers.
All with the the added advantage of providing often long-established and familiar staff of all ages, well up to the company's traditional standard in friendly, informal and knowledeable courtesy..
J. L.
I would just like to thank two ladies that work on the bra dept in the Birmingham new st store. Mary Butler and Bev Woodward went above and beyond to help my daughter. We are very grateful. These days it's not often you get service like that unfortunately. So well done girls and thanks again
Z. a.
Best mega store in UK. You can buy every kind of stuff from this store. Clothes to grocery. Everything. Rates are also reasonable.. Standard of stuff is good. Food is also good here.
E. D.
It's a shame that marks and Spencer aren't doing so well during the retail apocalypse because I recently discovered their smart range which are great for taller individuals. The price range is suitable for those looking to save a bit and would recommend if looking for a suit at a decent price - customer service and return policy is fantastic. Keep going for the best quality and the most affordable prices and marks and Spencer should be okay - don't go down the route of house of Fraser - too expensive and they will thrive
S. K.
M&S, my store, its the best. The staff are the best caring and supportive people i have ever met. They have got the best dresses for my size, so thank you M&S.
T. A.
Standard M&S fayre. Take up the "I dare you" challenge and try to be different ...please. As a loyal male customer of 25 + years I think a shake up is required. Too predictable sorry to say. Customers have wider choice these days. Clothes are as expected quality. The EDT/ After shave / dpmnt has very little choice for men these days. Why?
M. W.
Great food section, only very small per una area considering how big store is. I didn't like how the ladies lingerie section was set out, as the labelling of each type of bra section was not easy on the eye.
C. C.
Lovely cuppa but unfortunately the free range egg and cress sandwich was tasteless! Shouldn't have chosen gluten free I suppose. 🙄
L. B.
Shop is clean and well stocked with groceries, homewards and clothing lines. Staff are friendly and helpful. Looses a star for slow tills, makes it difficult to be quick in and out
A. B.
Lovely bright and airy. The store offers a very good selection of women's, men's and children clothing and footwear. Also a great selection of homewears and food. A nice shopping experience.
M. G.
Good choice including food Hall but cafe staff not pleasant or helpful they appeared stressed waited well over 10 mins to be served with 2 drinks. Other customers complained not the first time this has happened in the store.
J. C.
Well im still able to get to M S but still very cross that 2 stores nearer to me have closed. ; but still i travel to buy clothes that i like that are a good fit and especially Turkish made clothing . Food shopping 2 buses to get there so monthly now not weekly .food still good value .
R. I.
My family and I love shopping at M&S they have so much in store and it's clean and tidy easily to find things staffs are willing to help changing room are clean and big there is side and seat to sit while your family member go and try clothes to fit them this store is the only one I shop at there have often and there clothes never wear out and if they fit you and you chance your mind you can get a refund back staffs I give them full mark
N. C.
Toilets are a bit small if you need the toilet you risk a long wait and when i went disabled people couldn't use the disabled toilets because they were filthy also the sign on the ground floor points the wrong way to the lift but other than the staff are wonderful and it's a lovely place
T. B.
If you look for someone to help you then take your tent with you as that will tak a long time. Shop itself is big and provide a lot of products. My wife is always happy, my wallet not so happy.
S. K.
Very decent collection of garments but little expensive. But you can see very good veriety of food collection (bread, bakes and juices) at basement. I like their juices and bakes which is really good in quality
N. H.
Sells all the marks and Spencers ranges on 4 levels. Has a great large foodhall. A large cafe and toilet facilities. Maybe the only downside to the store is it is quite old now and looks a bit drab in places. But if you want to just buy quality products if at a higher price than normal then come here
A. B.
Got some lovely jeans in black, super skinny. They are true to size and are so comfortable with a high waist so keeps everything where it's supposed to be.
T. W.
Have been MS today to you some Christmas shopping a lovely lady named Diane help me look for ideas in the Christmas dept could not do enough for me l was so impressed with service . Would like for the store to say a big thank you to her l have worked in retail for over 25 years in one store so l know when you get good staff just tell them what a good job they are doing. Thank you.
P. Z.
This store has good reputation . If you looking for quality products this is the store for you. In general people are happy with the selection of the products
D. J.
Great day out with our youth group who are supported by M&S "plan A community's" the project helps support disadvantaged young people. We were invited by M&S to visit the Birmingham store for an insite into retail tour, lunch and a career's and employability workshop. Fantastic!!
s. p.
Staff very friendly, customer service amazing, a till went down and a member of staff handed out biscuits! where else does this? It one of the few shops these days that train staff to an high standard, a pleasure to shop at Marks and Spencer's.
Kind regards
Sue & Sharon
S. M.
Large store with all the departments. Great for the simply food section as this is large and stocks the full range of food. Situated on the high street easily accessible from other shopping areas and stations.
T. A.
Besides the the fantastic range of foods and quality goods. The store is spacious, helpful staff, clean toilets and comfortable cafe. Always have a good experience there and love everything I buy there.
A. R.
It's a high quality product selling store. They last for a long time. But if you are looking for low cost or cheap budget, it's not the place for you. Their prices are quite expensive but I guess the quality is worth the pay
S. D.
Went to try the £99 mens coat. Reviews mentioned that the zip was difficult, liked the coat but zip got stuck and was hard to either zip up or down, then I gave up. Shame really, good coat, bad zip.
D. A.
Got just what I wanted, easy to find where things were. Good service, easy access to all floors as got my mom with me and she's got a walker kind of trolley and so lifts to all floors.
F.
Quality clothes, friendly and helpful staff, spacious store, the lifts are not in clear view and you have to search for them, however there are plenty of escalators to get around the store.
M. V.
It's not big and there's not much there. Tried to get a pair of jeans and there is a dizzying array of ill-fitting jeans with s myriad of silly names which make choosing the right pair almost impossible. Come on, M&S, up your game!
S. E.
Typical M&S. Prices in food hall now seem more in reach of average man But still good quality
J. B.
Relatively quiet which was slightly surprising. No queues when paying. Used the M & S app to check stock beforehand, so assured of buying what I wanted.
S. C.
A brief visit today to check out the gin variety, which ended in an extreme couponing checkout experience. Brought £31.39 worth of shopping for just £13 give and take a few pence.
C. H.
My daughter went for her first bra fitting and the staff were amazing and so helpful. Left the store really pleased with her purchase thank you M&S.
G. B.
I visited here for just the coffee facility and had never been before. Very pleasentley surprised very nice and clean with a wide range of hot snacks and fresh cake. Would definitely go again
A. C.
There are better M&S stores, such as the one at Long Bridge. The layout isn't brilliant and I find that the staff is not very helpful in the men's clothing department, although the staff in the food hall seem friendly.
N. Y.
It's okay, a bit overpriced. Can get the same stuff from an alternative store for half the price. Staff are excellent and the store is always clean
K. B.
Always pop in for something nice to have for dinner. Obviously the food isn't cheap but you do get excellent quality....and if you're lucky you can pick up a 'yellow sticker' item!
L. S.
I went to buy food and got a little lost as different crisps and snacks were in different aisles. However, I bought 2 packs of avocados and they were all perfect, would definitely go back for more.
J. r.
They sell lamb and beef sausages which are delicious. Most supermarkets sell a variance of pork sausages and zero else. Marks get top marks for selling variety of meats.
S. N.
Had a bra fitting with Mary. She was so helpful and knowledgeable, I think I will now be wearing the right size bra after years of not feeling comfortable. Thank you Mary.
E. M.
Went for underwear fitting and Mary was amazing. So helpful. Sadly though the changing rooms are where other members of staff like to chat and gossip instead of working.
J. P.
Good variety. Excellent food section in the basement that is well stocked and with a good number of products. Very friendly and helpful staff.
P. W.
Easy to get too. Although not as grand as some stores. But a decent selection. Note this version of marks and Spencer is over several floors. A lot of regulators but there are lifts.
L. B.
Great service and bought some lovely Christmas baubles with initials on, just right for the grandchildren!!
Shame about the clothes, dated, cheap looking and CREASED, on the display, REALLY?? Not good enough.
L. M.
Very quiet, returned some items and purchased some sale items
C. K.
A nice sized store over 4 floors. It has everything from clothing, home ware, food and a cafe and food to go counter. I've had some great service in the store on menswear and the food to go counters. It can get quite warm in the store so I've given it 4 stars as not the best environment to look around in but still a good M&S store.
S. G.
Always good here 👍 really good food hall too. Currently the they got a sale on!
J. B.
Brilliant place to shop, I love it there... 😅😅👈👍
S. &. S.
Always outstanding service!
p. h.
Nice enough. Lots under one roof.
T. H.
Love M&S food its quality their cakes are a dream I always go in here for a treat as it not very cost effective for a full shop but thts why i said treat
N. C.
Toilets are a bit small if you need the toilet you risk a long wait and when i went disabled people couldn't use the disabled toilets because they were filthy also the sign on the ground floor points the wrong way to the lift but other than the staff are wonderful and it's a lovely place
A. H.
Good selection with many levels to check out. I didn't buy anything although I ate at the cafe. The cafe queue was quite long at lunch time, but it would be worth coming in for a drink when in town, outside of peak hours.
E. M.
Went for underwear fitting and Mary was amazing. So helpful. Sadly though the changing rooms are where other members of staff like to chat and gossip instead of working.
L. J.
Wonderful food in the cafe at a reasonable price- highly recommended. Could do with a few more tables or another cleaner though, as all the empty table still had other people's stuff on it.
h. s.
Nice store with food hall downstairs it's easy to find things and better when there's a sale if it's busy and I'm buying good and they have a cloths lable on it u can use the self service machines downstairs as it's quicker they have 2 lifts one either side of the store and escalators in the middle
The food staff are helpful if it in a hurry and not sure what ur looking for
C.
Hmm, so much for the treats that Sparks card holders are supposed to be getting. A couple of trips to the checkout and a lot spent, but no treats.
A. H.
M&s everything under 1 roof wether u want food, clothing, shoes or household stuff all the goodness in one big building
What else we look for huge variety of quality stuff
My favourite place
It might be a bit expensive dn other stores but quality is great buying same thing for half price 4m other stores won't last half d time or won't have half quality as dres so @ d end instead of paying less u r paying more than usual
As my motto is buy things which are good quality so it's worth paying and not regrettable
J. R.
Spectacular experience. From top to bottom.
I ventured to this particular branch of marks and spencers on my lunch break one Wednesday in search of something very particular. A classic English sweet bread that has bought joy and satisfaction to the people of this great nation for centuries. The scone.
Now they may be simple however youd be surprised how easily obtainable a poorly made scone can be. I'm very pleased to say that this was not one of those occasions. A Rich crumbly texture with a smooth buttery taste accompanied by delicious thick clotted cream, followed closely by the sharp sugary hit of strawberry jam. A classic combination.
I could not wait to get these babies back to the office, devour my mundane tuna pasta in a flash and chow down on these wonders of modern baking and boy did they deliver.
I could not recommend these enough, if you ever find yourself in marks and spencers, wondering what you should have for desert after a lovely Sunday dinner, be sure to pick these up.
*disclaimer* I was on a come down from smoking a marijuana whilst eating the scones, your experience may vary.
A. V.
A good place to buy stuff and money changer
M. &. J. B.
Shocked at being abruptly dismissed by a member of staff when asking a question. Eventually helped & looked after by a 'team leader' who couldn't do or apologise enough. Was surprised that the store wasn't huge as Birmingham is the country's second city!
S. B.
This is not my favourite M&S and it really does need a refurb desperately. The toilets are awful and there is alot of unused space. Not the most appealing store.
R. P.
My favorite place to shop. Love very collection of theirs and the staff is great too. Looking for really good deals then must shop during discounts.
L. W.
On visiting Birmingham I had a couple of items to return to M&S which I'd purchased in Stafford....the staff couldn't have been more helpful......well set out store lots of space its M&S what's not to like
R. I.
Popped in to look for a shirt/blowse/top for my son's graduation day and the staff couldn't do enough for us
We brought in a skirt from another high street store but this was not a problem and they spent over 30mibs checking various colour combinations
Above and beyond the call of duty
L. C.
Good quality food here, the staff are friendly and more than happy to help, theirs just one problem the customer's they are so up market and snobbish they cannot be bothered to say excise me or say Thankyou and they look apon you if you were trash and they cannot wait their turn in the Que
J. C.
Would be a five-star review, but it's impossible to get signal in there. As such, it's challenging to contact the Mrs and find out what I've missed from the list.
G. S.
Only went in for some specific food items on the way home from the Rep. Got what we needed and a few other things then straight out the back of the food hall to Moore Street. station. Convenient!
S. F. B.
Staff here are friendly and helpful. I use the food hall a lot and cannot ask for better service. Today using click and collect was equally perfect, thanks guys!
T. S.
Not as good as it usually is ,there were 3 or more freezers unused ,probably having probems with restocking due to Covid 19 .
J. H.
Good shopping is not a problem in M&S Birmingham. Very good selection of fresh and ready to cook food. Helpful staff.
S. H.
It is excellent the shop is set out with space for you to get around on every floor even if you are in a wheel chair .The cafe is on second floor there are two lifts escolaters and wheelchair access to cafe which sells hot and cold food ie toasted sandwiches toasted teacakes soup etc different coffees tea juice flavoured water milkshake etc. Prices excellent .Food hall and range of food excellent lots of food offers .on each floor staff are very helpfull and friendly .A great experience
R. M.
Great day buying bras for pumped up breasts. Thankyou marks and Spencer. I fell asleep was wakened by a member of staff with her shoes on the wrong feet..
Thankyou. I had the best day ever....
A. C.
Lack of staff on shop floor to help you find stuff. The cafe was ok if you are not in a hurry. Staff very slow even the pensioners were complaining. But expensive also.
T. B.
Fiona the member of staff was excellent her job helped me and my partner look for the right suit shirt she went above a beyond for us 👍to fiona thank u for ypur help poor woman waszon a walking stick too not many staff lkke that any more
L. W.
Bought a nice blouse in here recently, unfortunately there was damage I didn't spot in the store. Brought it back to customer services and they exchanged, no trouble at all.
K. M.
Good place to get certain items seen some shoes online managed to get them in store which was good as you can try them on,went into get some items for my dad and was told they have stopped them, seems there answer to everything see if they have it online some people like to see what their getting only downside.
W. B.
Good shop though needs to concentrate on quality clothing for older people ratherthan spread themselves too widely Excellent customer service today
k. L. C.
Great jumpers, bags and coats.Break at the cafe and finish up w/groceries before heading home! It's a pleasant all-in-one shopping experience!😜
J. S.
marks and spencer are now stocking scottish lorne sausages and scottish black pudding (no horrible chunks of fat) made for them by macsween of scotland and very nice they are too !
Havent seen a lorne sausage in marks and spencer for ages now, dont think they are stocking them in the birmingham store now, 👎.
L. T.
Got what we wanted straight away it's a shame that we have to travel Birmingham city centre for M&S since the closure of Sutton Coldfield store which was always busy ... It was an iconic store of Sutton
T. H.
Love M&S food its quality their cakes are a dream I always go in here for a treat as it not very cost effective for a full shop but thts why i said treat
E. H.
Again very helpful assistants always willing to help. The fitting room for ladies as 2 oversize cubicles for wheelchair users which is very helpful and practical.
A. W.
Went to get food. Nice and clean. Great variety and many offers. Always recommend the Percy Pig sweets lol. Keep up the great work.
S. P. C.
Large well layed out shop , food ,clothes and all those bits n bobs needed for a good Christmas ? Very good Christmas offers available in this store on anything n everything !
K. A.
These stars are for Francis, sorry don't know his last name, who works in the pavilions cafè. Couldn't of asked for a more helpful and pleasant member of staff even though the place was rather busy.
G. M.
Easy to reach large store selling their full range of products. No allocated parking. Staff always helpful
B. 1.
It was fine til I found a woman in gents toilet, who didn't feel she didn't do anything wrong but what would she have thought if it was the other way round.
P. Z.
If you are looking for good quality products you can visit Max & Spencer. They have very good for foreign echange office. The company has stores in Poland e.g Wrocław. If you are going to Israel you can get the best rate of the currency in the store. God Jewish business.
C. G.
Excellent store, well laid out. Coffee shop also super. Got most of my Christmas shopping here this year.
E. C.
A large and busy store, with very helpful staff. Unfortunately, the toilets located on the top floor can end up in a bit of a state by the end of the day.
A. K.
I only bought pullover but it is a big store and you can have every thing under one roof.It is fair cost wise if want to compare with other outlets around.
J. C.
a very nice store . as an M&S card holder i had to visit the store as i travelled bye coach to visit the bullring centre. and was not disappointed...
J. M.
I cant comment of the clothes, but the food hall is excellent for the size. Staff are always friendly and helpful and queues are dealt with quickly.
G. R.
Really i use the foodhall and loos mostly plus the odd pair of shoes...u know it's fine...i just think their price point is too high
H. B.
Amazing store, but small
Have a lot of varites
Food quality as usually 5/5
M. L.
Very nice all in one store. Quality products and plenty of choice. I haven't got much more to say really.
r. p.
Really nice shop, staff at the cashiers can be over friendly and don't pack ur shopping. Food is amazing and worth paying that extra.
H. N.
Friendly and helpful staff
G. B.
Popped in for afternoon cup of tea.Had quick look around. Before making are way home.staff very helpful. They was carrying trays for some of the customers that wasn't good on there feet. And getting things for them.Well done to marks restaurant staff
M. C.
I love going to M&S, but today I couldn't find a wide selection of women shirts. I want to see something different in fashion from last year.
J. N.
Excellent bra fitting service do not always need an appointment but it is best to . Great staff made me feel comfortable.
K. L.
Very clean store and very helpful staff, go out of their way to help you. Good quality clothing
V. I.
There is always something to find here.
Its the traditional well known style of clothing but sometimes you can get lots of bargains.
A. P.
Very friendly and helpful the young girl keeping the towel neat and tidy and still found time to have a natter to me thats what i call good customer service 💯👍
R. L.
Food great as always but mens clothing is poor. Lack of choice and sizes I'm not a heffer but I'm a bit larger than average but can't get things in my size.
I. D.
Not the biggest Marks and Spencer's... but good staff and products. Two levels of shop floor with escalators. Hihh street position outside the bullring centre means it is out in the cold on winter days.. which is a shame.
P. G.
I got some beautiful plant reduced at a very good price, and some lovely night wear. Excellent evening shopping at M&S.
S. P. C.
One of my favourite stores. Maybe its because we had a speaker from there when I was a pupil and I've always liked their products, service, displays.
J. M.
Love this shop. 💞 love the bargins you can get in the evening (some days), on foodstuffs. It balances out the overall price.
M. K.
Located on the High Street, in Central Birmingham close to two major train stations and also a large shipping centre! As good as any of the other M&S branches, maybe bigger though.
A. F.
Often cone here for dinner itemson the easy home. If you're looking for a bargain cone just after half 5, always reduced stuff for sale.
D. D.
If you want well made inexpensive clothes Marks is the place. Clean and tidy.
M. S.
All I can it beats shopping online, more fun, Birmingham City centre looks very Christmases with the German Christmas market.
R. A.
Went to their cafe but not very impressed this time with their service. Food & drink was as good as usual but would like to enjoy them together not as a take out.
A. C.
Very underrated store, this is a huge one, got most everything you might need, appeals to the more mature customer I feel.
j. m.
Clothes I've bought recently are great, they fit lovely and feel comfortable. Staff are always happy to help.
N. S.
The only place I get my shoes from a bit pricey but ur feet deserve comfort ,looking forward to the Christmas sale at m&s
J. R.
Still a pretty good place to shop. Staff is highly trained and friendly in a professional way!
S.
Very extensive store with clearly laid out departments. The returns department is hidden away upstairs but are helpful once you find them!
D. C.
Staff was excellent, directed me to exactly what I needed, like the change in store, the food is well worth traveling for, it caters for everything. Please dont close down birmingham and Wolverhampton stores.
S. S.
I love shopping here.usually i go m&s cafe with my partner there for mushroom toasties thats so tasty
D. W.
Extremely busy but when you do manage to get a member of staff they're really helpful and nice,,, love the store as it's bigger and better than the Walsall one 👍🙂
m. n.
Some staff were nice one lady was a right snobby monster did not like her approach my wife was really shy asking for advice and the lady had a terrible complex a shame really because the rest of the team are normally superb
M. K.
Now ....M n S .... from clothing lines to food ...... THE VERY BEST ... I would love to talk about their food ........ its second to none.
R. M.
Loved it.food looked great.clean shop and found what I wanted.
J. N.
We do lots of shopping in M+S B'ham. It's looking a bit tired for a major store! Will need to up their game when Primark next door opens.
P. B.
If you like M&S this is the best in the Midlands. I like to buy my suits and shirts here. Lots of styles and sizes
J. W.
Wish they would organise the sale goods better they are not even on the right hangers we all havnt got time to stand sorting ..I gave up. ...
M. C.
Lots of good offers in sale but racks too full & untidy , a number of items on floor . Cafe seemed a little disorganised needed two staff taking money , long wait to pay .
R. C.
Great store, good food selection, great choice of clothing, and friendly helpful staff.
B. M.
Sells everything that you need. There are clothes upstairs and there is a cafe and food sold on the bottom floor. The price is expensive but this is because the shop produces high-quality products.
W. S.
Excellent service, shame there's no fitting rooms but that's not M&Ss fault.
W. L.
Nor really impressed this year. Looking for a blouse/tunic but there seemed to be more jumpers than anything. Nothing really with the wow factor
O. Z. M.
Easy shopping, variety of merchandise, clean toilets, nice cafe inside, pleasant and friendly staff. Will go again!
J. E.
Decent size store adjacent to many bus routes and just across the road from Moor St station.
J. C.
A very large store, which stocks a good range. But I didn't find what I wanted in the men's clothing section, disappointed.
i. j.
Fantastic, love it,staffs, we're so kind & helpful, will be going again,see you soon, M & S.
M. C.
Good range of products. Store looks dated though. Sometimes difficult to find staff if you assistance
S. G.
Always good here 👍 really good food hall too. Currently the they got a sale on!
K. R.
Scrambled eggs on toast with a cup of coffee, perfect for a cold morning, you'd never know you were eating in the centre of Birmingham either
S. H.
Very good shopping mall with high quality staff. Household, men & women variety, kids corner, all in one
S. G.
I love the salads and healthy option meals
B. H.
Friendly helpful staff in cafe, noticed FCS tables good to see m and s doing a little bit for the environment.
Q. Q.
Top notch service as usual. Went shopping for uniforms. My daughter loves it here 😎
S. C.
Clean and tidy even though sale was on, no clothes on floor which is unusual during sale!!!!! Staff friendley and helpful
J. P.
Lovely shopping experience
Found a delightful necklace that matched my earnings. A very nice meal in the restaurant too
F. W.
Stock is laid out in space and easy to access. Staff Berry helpful.
S. E.
Mark and Spencer was full(Packed) today with lots of people wanting to buy different attires for different occasions and It was amazing to be part of those people
D. S.
Well it's marks and Spencer so they sell quality food..it's easy to get to and convenient for a quick shop
M. M.
Good selection of clothes and I feel that the quality in their cheaper ranges is still a lot better than than other 'cheap' ranges
D. K. T.
Would have been better if the assistant had put my items into the bag I also bought...
D. w.
Same high standard as expected from other stores. Can be a little warm on the upper floors.
M. P.
The food hall is best about it. I would still use the City centre branch by choice as it easier to get too.
T. O.
I went to their cafe after shopping with my son - the food was alright but took them ages to warm it up toast.
g. t.
Mensware section good. Plenty of staff on the tills. Service excellent. Boom, in and out. The way I like it.
M. K.
M&S...You get what you see on the tin. It's a mid level, reasonably stocked one (I usually get what I go for) with typically friendly Brum staff. 😄
J. B.
A good cup of coffee and then found some perfect fit jeans. Very pleased.
D. W.
Mainly visit for the tremendous food hall. Great selection and really friendly staff at checkouts.
M. W.
Excellent
The guy who served me was lovely, so pleasant and cheerful . Seems the norm with Marks, they are all lovely
S. C.
Service with a smile. Stock disappointing. No longer have a store in my local town so have to try others Tamwoth and Telford on the list
A. O.
It's hugely convenient having a Sainsbury's superstore on the doorstep of two large caravan parks - Lady's Mile and Golden Sands.
T. E.
Excellent quality in the food hall. Couldn't find a salad bowl though so had to go elsewhere for one.
K. B.
Great stylish and well made clothes at reasonable prices for the discerning fashionable person
P. P.
Good store with alternative clothing from the rest of the high street and not as expensive as people think.
R. M.
Nice shops but personally think that it's a little over priced. The food hall is good though.
B. M.
Better ladies clothes summer to try than last year. Staff in Birmingham city store very helpful.
S. W.
As ever - so clean. Great quality for a great price. So much choice in the lingeree dept!
T. M.
4 stars only because the banana loaf is never stocked when I'm there after college, theres alway another loaf in its place or nothing there at all.
S. H.
Large spacious and good range of clothes. Shame the clothes are in a random order when trying to find things.
K. D.
The main reason I still shop here is the excellent customer service provided by Steve (Food Hall), and some of the other staff members.
F. V.
Went for coffee, very nice, lots of seating and reasonably priced...Good size shop...
S. S.
Great store, wide range of products, always nice and friendly staff

T. R.

But when came across one she was very helpful.
But to be fair it was sunday
M. A. B.
Great place for shopping. There were loads of items on sale especially kids clothes
T. P.
Very nice department store. Multi-level with escalators. Cafe on top floor. Friendly staff.
D. C.
Not the best M&S I've been in, served the purpose for a quick shop and a Sparks discount on a hot chocolate.
T. R.
A good sized store, with alot of clothing, beauty and food options. And staff are very helpful and polite.
L. R.
Very limited offer of vegan foods, even Iceland has a better range
L.
The staff are helpful and friendly and if you are out shopping and need the loo, they don't mind if you pop in without buying anything.
J. B.
The food is good and usually they have a good selection of gluten free products, shame today they didn't
S. W.
Good take away drinking chocolate. Had to queue for a long time as they are not geared up for quick service.
T. P.
Clean and fresh was looking for goosberries and managed to get them here cant find them anywhere else in brum
S. D.
Always busy. Excellent quality food as expected from M&S. Generally friendly, helpful staff.
R. R.
Top rate as usual!! Got some fantastic sales bargains at the moment. Go in and spend and save a few pounds
M. L.
What lovely, polite customer service. Always like to treat myself, or family to something here.
A. S.
A large store, but one that always feels dated and tired. Has a large food hall and cafe, and being a large store carries a huge range of M&S stuff.
G. Z.
Great shopping, helpfull staff. Don't eat here, and stay away from the espresso, it is terrible.
G. C.
Very good store pity we do not have one in Sutton Coldfield anymore
l. f.
Very pleasant and polite staff.food stuff fresh and well presented .
T. K.
Well organised store, with a good variety of quality clothing.

V. D.
Good variety of clothes and excellent customer service always find what I'm looking for
K. B.
Lovely Coffee shop and children's clothing section. Very helpful and friendly staff.
C. W.
I very rarely buy anything from M&S except in the sales. The fit is poor and the material is not good quality for the price they are asking.
T. N.
Every time i shop here, the colleagues are always friendly, whether its busy or not.
C. C.
Wide range of good quality products, particularly clothes, at fair prices. Helpful staff.
M. S.

P. S.
They have clothes that fit me. Nice cafe
V. M.
Always great shopping experience even when asking staff where things are
l. b.
M&S is always my first shopping point but recently garments have been losing the quality. Most stock is either from china or india, which is not the quality I am use to from M&S.
A. P.
Still reliable on quality and price.....like the streeeeetch jeans at £22.50 a pair
J.
Very nice, was happy to see covid safety enforcement at the door.
S. B.
Found what I wanted, had a look at tops and trousers/ 3quarter length ones. Impressed but nothing caught my eye
B. H.
Loved the Cafe. Shopping was good too! Cafe was cosy and tea service was sublime!
M. C.
Good to be able to walk around one of my favourite stores. Ours closed in Weston!!
P. W.
Great place lots of variety very friendly staff
R. H.
First time someone has offered help. Sharon in menswear was fantastic. Well done
W. D.
Fairly comprehensive M&S. Avoid when the sales are on, as the place has the air of a slightly upmarket jumble sale.
A. M.
I always use Mark' men's department because of the quality of the goods and the excellent service I recieve.
e. j.
Store is always nice and tidy, it has great customer service
M. J. P.
Feels very dated compared with nearby more modern stores, such as the new John Lewis.
J. T.
They had pretty much what I wanted. However, the queue at the till was a bit much
M.
Good quality underwear and tasty food but not good for clothing.
D. A.
Fantastic store set out really well and staff glad to help
S. D. X.
Nice store with friendly staff. Good selection of clothes.

M&S is a very good store to find good quality clothes and shoes.
C. H.
Always good for a look around. Great food dept!
I. J.
Very crowded and busy but the staff were most helpful in sorting out my gifts.
J. B.
Always a pleasure to stop @ M&S the quality of both goods and helpful staff can be relied on.
J. B.
Brilliant place to shop, I love it there... 😅😅👈👍
M. S.
A large MnS with all you could possibly want. One stop shopping, clothes, gifts, home and cafe.
M. H.
Excellent store I am concerned about the Primark proposed for the old pavillions site.
d. j.
Still one of the best stores to visit for your household clothes and food shopping .
K. R.
It's a big store. Clothes and food are their main sellers. Who did not know that !
H. K.
Great shop, very friendly and helpful staff with good baby change facilities
Q. Y.
Very helpful staff and a great selection of food and clothing
U. P.
Best thing about this shop is their food court. Best jam donuts in the world
d. g.
Always pleasant experience. Nice cafe although service can be slow.
D. P.
Marks and Spencer restaurant is a venue that provides excellent quality food and a wide choice on menu.
A. L.
Great store with a good selection of food, clothing and beauty products.
L. E.
M&S shop excellent. Cafe very poor, long queues and they got the order wrong.
M. P.
An ideal place to visit for when you need to buy groceries for that special dinner party or occasion. Also sells clothes etc.
R. S.
