Reviews of Asda Brighton Hollingbury Superstore
A. D.
This big Asda store now has a McDonald’s fast food takeaway , so the local area is now littered .
Asda scan and go easy unless you want to weigh your bananas no scales Always broken !😫 . Great staff always happy to help .
Shame kids uniforms are never in stock for months on end .
Been over charged a few times here , so check your receipt, no apology from customer services and could not refund to my credit card on my phone !
Come on team
Could try harder .
Update Dec 7th 2021 11am Tuesday
No trolleys! Customer service said they have a shortage , it wasn’t busy .
No scanners , the one there Not charged !
Store a mess lots empty boxes everywhere
Not good 😩
s. p.
Great range of household goods and children's clothing. Store is big and busy so must be popular. Got babies 2 piece pyjama sets which is not available in other stores. The car park is a bit of a jumble and signs could be better.
C. P.
Fine.. Apart from self service checkouts.. FIVE out of order.. But then they ALWAYS are and ASDA very slow at sorting them. Try speaking to anyone.. Even HEAD OFFICE... IMPOSSIBLE!
N. I.
Great superstore has everything you need under one roof clothing electrical food and drink the shelves are always stacked plenty of staff around for help and till staff a friendly and efficient
B. T.
Has a wide range of products. Including clothes and ASDA's home range, dvd's, games, pharmacy and much more. Also stocks world foods. Has a coin machine were you can change all your loose change for cash. Plenty of parking for all including disabled and parent and Child. Has self scan checkout. You can get you car wash while you shop or order online with click and collect.

23 December, busy as you might expect. Great place to catch Covid. Some staff weren't wearing masks, a lot of customers weren't. They tried a lot harder during lockdown: why not now when we have the highest number of new cases per day by a long way? I felt unsafe and got out as quickly as possible. I've heard Hollingbury ASDA is better. Maybe I'll try?
G. B.
Lovely large store with plenty of FREE parking.
P. R.
In store Opticians’s is excellent, great choice and really good value, 2 pairs for £120 or 1 pair for £80… bargain..
I had a problem with the arrival of my order and the staff rectified the issue really quickly, but also said If I wasn’t happy they would refund..
So thanks to all..
T. C.
One of the best Asda stores around checkout staff always friendly.
The only downside to this store is there's to many online shopping carts blocking the produce they don't seem to think about access for everyone who's trying to get around and do their shopping apart from this I like the store better than Eastbourne or Brighton marina.
G. T.
I used to use this ASDA a lot when I worked nearby, in fact on a daily basis.
It’s a big store so you should be able to get everything you need if ASDA is your thing.
Personally I find their products a bit hit and miss, for example their meats can be very fatty.
This store also has a petrol station on-site which is handy but it can get very busy!
J. P.
It is doing well but there are still insufficient staff at the checkouts. I have rated it at the 3 as I am not keen on the one entrance being for both the supermarket & the burger restaurant. It gets far too crowded in what is a relatively small area to deal with the foot traffic for both shoppers & diners.
Unfortunately I must also add a footnote regarding the George clothing, which is boring!. Sadly both the quality & designs have deteriorated over the last year.
N. R.
This morning I went to top up petrol here and the gentleman behind the counter in the petrol station was extremely helpful. I was having trouble with my new bank card and he was so patient even with a busy queue and helped me set up Apple Pay. He was so friendly and made me smile and I don’t usually do reviews for such a quick and regular type of purchase but he was so good that I wanted to write this in the hope you can track down who was on the shift at 11am ish today and give him some recognition and feedback as he wowed me with his outstanding customer service. A refreshing experience. Very warm and went above and beyond, represented Asda excellently.
R. S.
Absolutely massive store, has everything you can think off. The foreign food section is huge!
S. B.
Asda is one of my favourite superstore. I was looking for some remedies for my sore muscles. Too much walking up and down on the hills 😅) The friendly staff of the pharmacy was happy to help me.
R. T.
Always shop there quick in N out (sometimes) look for the bargains there crafty
C. G.
Great range of products when the shelves are stocked. Household, toys, clothing, bakery and more. Long ques at tills more often than not lately, this does not keep us safe we should be able to move in and out quickly!
S. H.
Nice huge store providing great value for money.
A. B.
Full range of shopping supplies and larger than others along the coast. This place offers everything from basic groceries, electrics, books and audio visual. In house bakery and a good fruit and veg selection. Even when the shop seems busy there always seems to be somewhere to park.
R. D.
They had all special distancing measures in place.
The person at the counter was so nice, friendly and lovely.
Although all the things I wanted were not in stock, I still managed to get something to replace what I couldn't find.
J. k.
It's a good place to shop. Many items goods and fresh food with good price. But if they provide a place or room for customers' dogs waiting inside would be better.
J. G.
Wow. Best supermarket I’ve been too in a while. Lots of staff always around and willing to help. Extremely impressed with fruit and vegetable section, all the shelves were virtually full. Staff on that section have clearly been working hard and are clearly knowledgeable, asked a young lad with glasses about cassava and he was able to tell me what it is and what it’s used for. Milk and the fridge isles were well looked after aswell. Only negative is that unfortunately there isn’t a proper café like other supermarkets.
R. B.
Wonderful , I thank the staff for working and enabling me a disabled customer to shop and buy fresh produce.Would like some toilet rolls or it will be back to cutting up the daily papers as we used to do many years ago !!!! You have to laugh there are so many people worse off than myself and if that's my only concern then things are not to bad.
O.
I just want to say how incredibly friendly and helpful your staff are being during this difficult time. I had two occasions to ask for help when I visited yesterday and both times your staff were incredibly helpful and had such a positive attitude. I was very impressed. Sending thanks and well wishes to all staff at the Hollingbury Asda
D. J.
i went today to Hollingbury Brighton and the service I received from the staff who helped get a photo on to a large cake was exceptional. They were helpful, courteous and just went over and above. Brilliant team a lot of other stores could learn a lesson from them.
E. G.
It's OK.... Easiest one to get to as I live between 3 different stores. Wish the clothes section was better.
j. g.
FANTASTIC STAFF working in this store with free parking too.
The only down side is the misserable old women shoppers whinning non-stop.
BAN this old miserable women shoppers who come here early in the morning & start arguing with the staff & the security staff who are always so POLITE at all times. These old women also smell Disgusting and & have no Respect for social distancing & Some old women customers have no Manners or common sense. one old woman stood right behind me touching me & refused to give me space & only interested in arguing with staff & fellow customers, BAN this NASTY old women from this store for Good.
F.
Massive supermarket with an acceptable quality of food. This is the Walmart of the UK and should be treated as such.
Walking through this humoungous supermarket during the era of Covid-19 in the last hour of being open does feel somewhat like the 2013 film The Purge. People dash between towering aisles, clambering for every deal that they can find. The young shop staff lock themselves down behind 'covid safe' counters until the inevitable 'broken glass in isle 4, service please' rings out across the tanoy system altering all local staff to another spillage.
If you want a relaxed and plesent shopping experience, go elsewhere. If you have the gall to make it through the purge at this location then you're welcome to try and find some deals.
A.
Ok shop, but too many people not wearing masks. It is the law that you have to wear a mask, but the security people are still letting people in. They need to enforce it more. I get it that some people are exempt from wearing masks, but they should have a land-yard to let staff and people know they are exempt. (I would have one if I was exempt).
N. M.
Love the store. Great staff and everything one needs. Yes some items may be cheaper elsewhere but overall great quality and my main shop. Have a great day all and thank you to all wonderful staff 😀👍
A.
alright I dunno man I dunno what to say about this place but it is very good and they do what you gonna time for the service they do the service they always make you wanna go very Even my 7 year old loved it! Fold out chairs available or plenty of benches to sit on. Nice spacious rooms so doesn't feel claustrophobic or too crowded. Cafe was a bit overpriced though and food wasn't particularly suited to children in general. Better to just cross the road and have something to eat at one of the more family friendly restaurants about. Alright thank goodness I got to see you bro I love it I love the way I can hear it from my dads house is my birthday and my new number it’s gonna is my birthday and my new birthday is gonna I wanna come now you wanna come now is a greatnesses here is a good night to be sure time for me haha was the time to get my food back from my food good time and I’m not gonna it is a very good food I service is a lot of fun but I think I wanna truck I was meant for the pizza to go with it haha is that a great thing about it and how much you have been completed in order for me some time.
T. S.
This ASDA is much better than the other Superstore in the area. Be aware of the strict parking policies. You can easily get a ticket if you are not careful.
b.
I like it. Its very good value and the quality is mostly good - everything apart from the fresh ready meals. Unlike Tescos and even Waitrose their promotions are honest. They dont advertise one product as a super half price offer and then stack the shelves around the sign with identical product of a slightly different packet size which is actual three times the price. Never had a problem with the staff, always helpful to me.
F. G.
Good location for a supermarket, the store is very large so there is a good selection of products at good values.
The store needs a refurbishment as it is looking old and tatty although this doesn't matter to much.
You should be aware that the supermarket is not open 24 hours at weekends.
J. L.
What a great job by your staff in these difficult times. The planning and organisation was great and food shopping was a pleasure today. No products missing and left without experiencing any stress whatsoever! Well done!
D. J.
Very impressed with this store - The staff are extremely helpful, and I dealt with Jack who is very professional and genuinely seemed to want to help me with my search for fine wine !
Y. I.
Good service and lots of stuffs but little expensive than Aldi and Tesco
A. M.
It's not a bad store. Prices are fairly reasonable. Women's clothing can be dire at times. A proper cafe would be nice. Self service tills are annoyingly slow.
P. P.
Needed to get test kit for visit to Hospital, so all done and negative result
S. P.
Lacked a few of the usual selections I'm used to at Asda.
H. M.
Lots of goods good choice value for money
L. W.
All super markets are the same, this is about the best value you can get but with real products (Aldi and lidl are cheaper but don't have good quality food) this is about the best you can get for the best price.
Just remember that almost all super markets sell the same stuff but at different prices and prices can change so do not just take my word on the fact I think this is the best value
H. M.
Staff are always friendly and helpful but sometimes it takes time for shelves to be restocked and sometimes great food is taken off the shelves ie smart price apple pies at 50p were far better than named brands at £1 but are gone now. Still much preferred to Marina Asda!
L. L.
Originally I was going to rate it four star . But then I got to the bakery . Everyone treated me so well . And the icing on the Caterpillar cake was when I laid eyes on the five foot 7 hunk of meat, with the bright blue eyes and gorgeous beard . Shoulders so sexy and an backside that was nothing but perfection . I mean just wow asda well done .
The mole man who worked there aswell was a tad strange though ...
J. B.
Love going to this store. Good produce. Good affordable prices, 😊😊
K. K.
It has many kinds of food, beverage. And i could enjoy shopping
G. M.
This supermarket is generally pretty good.
G. V. H. G.
Brilliant shopped here all the time when we were in the marina.
P. M.
I find myself lost for words in my extolation of this fine shopping establishment. ASDA Brighton Marina Superstore is simply the most wonderful supermarket there is under the broad jurisdiction of Brighton and Hove City Council.
Ask yourself, where else exactly can one purchase a near freshly-made pack of sumptuous custard doughnuts at half-past-three on a Wednesday morning? If you happen to suffer from insomnia or any such other related sleeping difficulties, make sure to pay a visit to ASDA Brighton Marina Superstore because I can assure you it is worth your time.
As much as the wonders of Asda Stores Ltd. can be found elsewhere in the area, the ASDA in Hollingbury — as admirable as it is in the quality of its regular low-price ASDA bargains — understandably fails to live up to the impeccably high standards set by its seaside counterpart.
There are so many marvelous things I could write about concerning my experiences shopping at this particular branch of ASDA, but I fear the Google Maps platform, not understanding the significance of this individual business, may only cut my endorsement. Consequently, I will list only the most relevant points.
The floor is always sweeped clean to a level of purity the likes of which the majority of OCD sufferers would be proud of. I urge any shopper not to gaze in awe at the cleanliness of the tiles for too long, lest they become disorientated by the perfect, mirror-like reflectance it offers.
Furthermore, the shelves are always stacked to fulfilling completion. It seems that not a single product has ever been 'out of stock' since the very joyous occasion the store opened. Unlike in other supermarkets, every Marina Superstore worker has a degree in the supermarket grocery business and is trained to the highest possible standard in all related skills, as well as having immense pride for their workplace and occupation.
In summary, I can recommend this superstore to the reader no less than eating food. It is the bread and water of my life, and it should be of yours.
Happy shopping at ASDA, Brighton Marina.
K. M.
Some good deals, plenty of parking, not many ice cream choice so maybe freezer items need restocking on some aisles. Overall a good store to shop at will DEFINITELY go again.
P. P.
Good choice of drinks and snacks
Well located around the marina area with free parking up to 2 hours for customers
A. M. (.
I find Asda very reliable, the shelves are stacked regularly and it's open 24 hours during week days.
Just stay away from the veg, the quality at Asda has always been shocking.
Not much more you could want!
S. H.
Staff helpful & cheerful as always only small disappointment some of the shelves were empty. As it's summer holiday time and with staff illness the reduced staff are working flat out to cover for their colleagues. Well done to the staff.
A. A.
Great selection and much fun to be had browsing the various aisles, we particularly had fun in the world foods aisle where we found our new favourite drink NECTO! such a delicious drink that we highly recommend however only 4 stars because they ran out of said necto. Thx guys xx
Y. K.
A large and well stocked shop. Ample parking. Friendly staff. We visited at just after 7pm and it was nice and quiet. All together a fairly pleasant experience
J. G.
At last larger parking bays! Store having a refurbishment at the moment so nothing is in its normal place! Which is a bit annoying! Good customer care from the Managers who directed me to what I was after! On asking an employee where the eggs are? DON'T KNOW was the answer and he walked off!!
C. C.
Very big asda massive range , everything you could want very large george section
L. R.
Actually I don't agree at all with those reviews. Staff there very polite and helpful, always ready to drop what they are doing to actually look for items for you. There's nothing wrong wth that store. It's a great number of a certain kind of customers which spoils the the whole experience imo.
C. T.
Huge Asda with a good range of products, however the clothings is only a small area upstairs, so there isn’t as much of a range as you would think looking at the size of the store
N. H.
Very large Asda with a hot food counter.
M. T.
Too many staff filling Home Delivery orders, too many trollies and cages cluttering up the aisles. Why do assistants need to go around in pairs and then stand about talking. Not a really tidy store anywmore
T. W.
It's a supermarket, it's got lots of food. With other leisure and restaurant facilities close by, but be prepared. If you think you might just pop in for a few bits just before lunch on Saturday or Sunday then don't say I didn't warn you. It gets very busy so choose your outing carefully.
I.
It's an Asda. Functions well enough as such. Can be a bit crowded, especially Saturdays, but never had big queues at the checkouts. The fresh baked bread is actually pretty good (try the "Multiseed").
Like most big supermarkets, it's impossible to find things you need in a hurry, although the staff have been helpful enough once you do manage to chase one of them down.
Open 24h on weekdays, which is handy when you've rolled out your pizza dough and notice you forgot the tomato goop that goes on top. There's a big parking lot in front, and the entrance is occasionally occupied with folks harassing you about car breakdown cover and such. The place is also in convenient walking distance from the Marina apartments.
Has a "George" clothing shop upstairs.
D. H.
It's a biggun. Stopped in to get some beach picnic snacks. Very good prices. Bakery man sliced a loaf for me. I said "Thank you, Sir." He said "Call me Brian." I'm never going to see Brian again, but I said "Okay."
S. L.
No queue, was able to get all I needed. Scan and go system made it much quicker and was able to keep an eye on my spending.
S. M.
Well ive had to use the online shopping a few times as i was just out hospital and found it to be pretty good, apart from a few changes in my order, but nothing major, so much so,i will use again, as going shopping like i had to a fortnight ago left me tired and in a lot of pain, as im not supposed to carry heavy things. So well done asda.
J. M.
Great value, lots of parking, can get busy sometimes. I love their clothes section upstairs, never that busy, so can browse with ease.
M. W.
Great professional canvas done in 30 mins today by a great member of staff called Emma Oyris. She is always helpful and to polite for some of the customer's she has to put up with.
b. 4.
Petrol Station - since the new change it amazes me how they thought putting in only 33% and not all 'pay at pump' was a good idea. Sometimes queuing backing onto the roundabout. Otherwise, clean, tidy, pumps work, it dispenses fuel
C. M.
Busy Asda store in the middle of an industrial estate. Lots of choice of things and very good non-food sections. Always a bit manic, so not an enjoyable experience. But if you want an Asda with lots of choice it does the job.
P.
Bloody awful they are resurfacing the car park and refurbishing inside so its complete kaos I couldn't find the stuff I wanted as it's all been moved about - one thing I will say is that the staff are as happy and helpful as always I hope it's all back to normal down there soon!!
K. H.
Bit of a drive to get there for me but have always been pleased with the value for money and the lovely staff. Haven't had a bad experience.
F. B.
A lovely ASDA a bit small however plenty of space to find what you need.
Staff are generally lovely.
Fuzzy Bear100 on YT
D.
Jet Car wash is open 1/3rd of the time but other than that it's a great store
R. K.
Well every little helps. Firstly the people are adorable, its Brighton and I just love the happy staff but you loose a star for teenagers in Onesies, there is no excuse after you take your first baby step. I have never seen an adult in one so Brighton does have some class. Another star off for that lady that tells her 5 year old to F*******. Shame on you lady. Shame!
Way too much junk food between anything you can call food, must be so hard for families with this US sugar force feeding system rigged against them. But there is enough fresh, cheap fruit, veg, meat etc. if you look around its just feels harder to get to than other stores.
Parking is good and they at least have 4 EV bays though they are usually filled with petrol cars with empty free spaces nearer the store entrance which seems crazy. But Asda don't care so won't put up a please don't park here sign or leaflet the petrol cars that park there.
L. D.
Huge store lovely place to go shopping 👍
I. F.
Not sure what they are having done down there but did not seam as well stocked as usual and the iles were a little tight with two trolleys parsing in some areas, stsff were very helpfull as always
H. C.
This Asda is mostly good. The DVDs are not that good but they sell wrestling DVDs, I buy some of them here. The food is very good as is the store
b.
It's huge and sells just about everything you might expect, and despite it being a bit off the beaten track it's served by several buses. Upstairs there's a George clothing store that sells a wide range of basic-value clothing.
E. M.
The staff here are always so friendly and helpful, one of my favourite supermarkets in Brighton
M. w.
BIG SHOP so easy to get lost, lots of parking spaces and fuel station... Well stocked and plenty of friendly, helpful staff to ask when I visited around Saturday noon!
R. M.
Very clean and good food and cheap prices nice shop too friendly staff X x x
R. B.
Huge store , large range of stock.
M. B.
I've been going to Asda at the marina for years. It's good - I'd say very good. Surprised at the number of moaners on here - I suppose people don't post comments when they're happy
C.
Very good shop lots of choices, nice staff very polite. Big car park (which is also free, for 2 hours) very close to marina where there are lots of great restaurants.
J. S.
Much confusion over the car parking - signs that say 3 hours only but speak to staff if you want to stay longer. Staff knew nothing about this signage and were unable to help us.
M. B.
Pretty Poor service from ASDA.
Allowing Car Parking Company to charge excessive charges for been one minute over time. Christmas shopping cost £40.00 extra.
Ex ASDA shopper.
T. B.
Really enjoyed my visit to ASDA this morning..it seems to of expanded inside and it has been done up or refurbished inside...made some brilliant changes to the store..5* for me...
J. c.
Do love an Asda shop at Hollingbury, quite a good selection of everything.
D. B.
Brilliant shop great prices staff very helpful. However the new advert is shocking bad
G. C.
First time going to Asda since we don't have in the USA and really enjoyed the store. Great service and friendly associate's.
j. c.
Great range of products from basic to mid range. Unable to find 100% cotton socks. Great cleaning offers
K. B.
Clean, with plenty of room. Very noisy, alarm by entrance constantly sounding and tannoy announcements very shouty
M. P.
Squeezed in just before closing to get a couple of things. Growing coriander was waterlogged and died after single use ;(
a.
this store is alright parking space is not great but they went crazy on the covid rules
T. T.
Excellent supermarket very well priced - staff amazing especially Harry on fruit and veg, what a helpful chap, so knowledgable about the spuds 👍🏻
C. D.
Huge Asda! Much bigger than the marina one. Huge home and fashion section. Lots to offer. Gets really busy however!!
M. C.
It's got everything your little heart could desire. It is often very messy which you don't want from a supermarket. Staff are friendly.
p. d.
Has to be one of the worst Asda out there , staff that don’t realise , customers give them a job, last time there hit by women cleaning floors with a machine run up the back of me , not even a sorry , made out my fault , sorry don’t have eyes in back of head, shelves empty and crufy store,
MANAGERS need to be sorted
A. R.
Love asda in store. Great prices, lots of variety. Don't ever do home delivery though, shockingly bad!
M. J.
Good place to get some shopping done and a well stocked variety of products with every food and accessories catergories. An efficient and reiable retailer.
A. C.
Good selection. Didn't have everything I needed.
E. G.
Bit out of the way, so unaccessible without a car. But great deals, huge store with everything you might need in it! and free parking
N. V.
Grate shop, bigger tHan any shop in Brighton.
There is always discounts on some good stuff. Costumare service helpful and polite too:)
S. E.
Always well stocked and has so many choices. Staff always friendly and helpful
J. H.
Our regular shop, good price and choice
S. D.
Good store with friendly staff, however, being a 24hr store it can be a bit of a nightmare getting around late in the evening with cages & pallets down virtually ever isle...
S. D.
Every time I go i spend twice as much as I would anywhere else... I guess it's because I don't go too often and end up stocking up and getting good offers!
c. H.
The friendliest asda store in the area with the most helpful staff.
J. N.
If Lidl was closer I would not bother with Asda Brighton they R not so helpful or Friendly and better quility at Lidl.
S. P.
Great supermarkets with immense choice of food. There are many vegan options as well.
K.
Ez asda 5 stars, Kriss is best delivery driver
E. B.
Just had my delivery from a very friendly man. How he managed my stairs. Well done and Thank you
O. F.
I never find polenta or corn meal in last 3 months...why?
D. “. C. H.
It's very asda-ish. If you want to experience the world of asda, this is the right place to go... maybe not if you want the tesco experience
m. h.
Very helpful and friendly staff..short queues and much variety made it a great shopping experience...
J. R.
Always a very busy store. Very big, lots of products. Fuel always significantly cheaper than elsewhere.
D. E.

B. C.
Very handy for what you can't get at Lidl - the price for Brewdog cans is very attractive
M. J.
Cheap and cheerful - if it was there yesterday but not today then look around coz annoyingly they will have moved it
M. C.
