I don’t often take the time to write reviews but just had to for Barney’s. The quality and variety of cheeses, charcuterie, chutneys, chocolate etc is always excellent. I recently asked if they could make a hamper for a colleague. Michaela was so friendly and arranged a bespoke one. It was honestly fabulous! Everyone commented on how delicious it looked. I can’t stop recommending to everyone! Thanks so much to the team at Barney’s.

Always come here before any dinner party. Service is always brilliant too and the staff are very knowledgeable about all of their goods. They have the best selection of local cheeses and wines in all of Brighton and they have not disappointed. If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would without skipping a beat.

A great source of global and local cheese with proprietors who are great at making recommendations. They also supply a range of chutneys, pickles, cured meats, nut butters, crackers and even vegan cheeses. Well worth a visit.

The BEST cheese in Brighton and one of my favourite shops in the whole Lanes! From local to continental to vegan cheeses, there's something to suit absolutely everyone's tastes.Friendly, knowledgeable staff and all round superb customer service. Ask for a recommendation and you won't be disappointed. I always go in for one thing but leave with an armful (just impossible to choose between all the delicious things).

Brilliant customer service and fantastic products. I popped into Barneys looking to create a cheese hamper as a birthday present. The person I spoke to was really friendly and personable. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for and then made lots of suggestions and helped me choose a fantastic selection of cheeses and accompaniments. I’d definitely recommend.

This is a beautiful shop and the produce is lovely and generally worth the higher prices but the service can variable. I have had wonderful service every time I’ve been in until today when I was met by a very grumpy, sarcastic and rude man who clearly had no interest in selling me anything as he could not have made me feel less comfortable or been any less helpful. Really disappointing experience today.
