Reviews of Co-op Food - Bishopston - Gloucester Road
A. L.
A good store, great staff
Self service tills are available and take cash or cards
Usually have what I want or an alternative if needed
Moderately priced and it is a convenience store but the coop does have good offers
I use the coop because I do not want to be spending hours of my time in a supermarket queuing for only one or two items
A. C.
It's a generally good Co-op. They have a good range of vegan options both chilled and frozen. They're pretty stringent with the maximum customer policy and have a security guard at the front.
They have a lot of self service checkout stations and the staff are friendly and helpful :)
A. M.
No nonsense supermarket. Nice staff.
Can be slightly more expensive than some other supermarkets. Stocks a few unusual variations on standard lines, which is a nice touch.
S. A.
Decent size supermarket, bigger than Tesco or Sainsbury's on the same road. Cashiers are very nice, not so much one of the security guys (the other 2 are suoer nice).
There are Amazon lockers inside, very comfortable to deliver your parcel there if you need.
P. M.
Was useful with regards to topping my electric up, as they have PayPoint here.
Only ever got some essentials, bread & milk etc.
But a few months ago, used the cash poimt outside and it swallowed my card up.
And that was after I'd put my pin number in and the amount of money I wanted.
Typically, was approx 6p.m on Friday eve, so would have spoiled d my evening, but thankfully had some money at home.
Can be annoying, esp as my card was valid etc,
As not the 1st time it's happened at other cash points in Bristol.
Hay Hio, such is life, Cai La Vie and all that....
M. M.
This place is mad pricey but has a decent range of produce. The staff are generally pretty friendly but I once saw a can of coconut milk for £2.38 - yeah you read it right - £2.38. At least I think it was £2.38. I didn't buy it. It's good if you live nearby and need to get a few things but you'd be mad to do a big shop in there.
A. S.
A convenient supermarket for daily requirements, though in need of better stock control.
S. B.
As always the co-op has good food and I liked their reduced section. But the queues can get a bit much and they don't have enough staff on the cigarette bit which is the only area you can pay an actual human.
That said, I like those payment machines where you put your chance on the conveyer belt thingy. Made me feel like being a kid in an arcade.
S. W.
Well suited to the area and handy to grab a few things. Maybe not the place for a full week's family shopping trip. I'm happy to pay £3:50 for a lunchtime meal deal for the co-ops greater range of drinks and snacks
A. E.
Before moving to Bristol, I never shopped at the co-op.
Ever since moving here, it's my go to shop.
Since shopping here the amount of money I've saved from their constant sales and bargains will be in the hundreds.
They have sales constantly, everyday. Wether its from fruit, veges, meats to bread they'll have it.
It's a good way to build up points on the coop membership card too, which I now have plenty
J. M.
This coop is better stocked and brighter than the one further up...
D. B.
It's the Co-op. There's a back-entrance, very handy for getting to the park. They sell stuff.
You wanna buy stuff?
This might be the place for you
A. H.
love this store it stocks good quality food, lots of variety.
m. t.
Always good food and friendly staff. Feels safe too
R. C.
More expensive than the competition but less exploitative than them too. Mostly helpful and friendly staff. Has some great offers which change regularly and there is a 10% student discount with an NUS card.
W. B.
Inexplicably expensive. Nice staff, and a decent range of food, but after walking out £40 lighter with a bag and a half of standard food I found myself staring at the receipt and dreaming of London prices.
E. G.
Queue times can be large, moderately priced, not the best selection. But the location is convenient being close to St Andrew's park and acting as a byway between the park and Gloucester road.
S. U.
Usual Co-op fare with a reasonable selection of gluten free food. Can be pricey compared to other supermarkets
J. E.
Good shop . Like shopping there. Like the bargains and variety of food. The staff are welcoming and very friendly .
S. B.
Have visited this coop
On several occasions and have found it I nice little supermarket. Always has some sort of deal going on lots of different items. Mostly go for drinks that are on offer and always love the bread, just shame that it has to be eaten on that day or the next days it’s a hard lethal weapon ! Lol.
Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit Must go and visit

Dispite ques at peak time, I always get everything I need and the soundtrack's they have on the speakers are awesome. This is my first choice of local Co-op
a. P.
Great fun following all the one way stickers on the floor , its like some type of house of fun at the fair.
B. S.
The place to go at 9pm when you need a bandaid. Just remember they are plasters here. The guy looked at me like I was a nut as I tried to describe one to him..
E. B.
Bit of a confusing layout but a good range of products
J. B.
Good little Co-op store that has a decent selection of items. Open long hours too.
L.
Expensive but convenient. Nice staff. Pop up to Tesco if you're on a budget though
R. A.
On the way out today, we broke a bottle of Bailey's. Our fault - hadn't closed a backpack properly - but they gave us a free replacement anyway. As the guy who mopped it up says "We're the Co-op, not Sainsbury's - we do customer service".
J. B.
Clean,lots of great special offers
P. L.
I was able to get what I went for. Arrows on floor were in place, but not always followed.
