L. D.A really Authentic and humble vegetarian restaurant along with a grocery store near Cardiff Central Railway Station.
With multiple food options and various Indian Cuisine, It hits the right chord with nominal prices. I had this Thali along with Kachori which was quite tasty and is enough to share with two people. A must visit if you are looking for authentic Indian food in Cardiff.

Madhav is neat and serves nice Indian meals.

T. R.After years away, we have fallen in love with this place all over again, basic, set alongside a supermarket, literally, very basic, no nonsense but don't be put off. Great food, great value, vegetarian indian street food at its best. We had the veg thali £10.99 each, an absolute steal for such an authentic, flavoursome meal - go go go, go, go! Madhav's has been here for years and really, really is worth the visit. You won't be disappointed 😋

We spoke in Marathi and he responded to us in typical Kolhapuri accent of Marathi.
Felt very much at home when we found almost all that we Indians, especially maharashtrians need like scraped fresh coconut and ofcourse dried fish which we relish in Mumbai.
Ofcourse apart from fresh eggs,they don't sell Chicken or mutton/lamb/pork.
But for that there are plenty of outlets nearby .
Very reasonable rates and sufficient availability of all items...u think of it and u find it there.
The dine in section serves delicious vegetarian fare....not to forget batata Vada and mava barfi!

Can improve on number of seatings and overall hygiene. Tables were a bit greasy. Allow some time for the lady to prepare the food as well.
S. C.Great shop. Been trying to buy a number of ingredients for indian recipes for a while and unable to find many of them in the supermarkets. Managed to get everything I need in here such as Panch Poran, chaat masala, tamarind concentrate, kashmiri chilli spice, ajwain and amchoor as well as various flours, rice and a number of other ingredients. Some prices do seem a little steep but overall I was happy with the cost. Had to drive from the Vale of Glamorgan as there are no shops of this kind here but will happily go back again.
4 stars as business seemed to pick up when I was in there and there just didn't seem to be a real queue system. It is only a modest sized shop though so it's not a huge deal. I think the issue was more the indecisive customers rather than the shop itself.
Card payments are accepted. There is restricted parking in close proximity (pay attention to the signs).
I haven't got time to post a list of prices sorry. I filled a basket (and it was.completely full) with a couple of types of flour, numerous spices and dried chillies and other items and paid no more than £25.

I found so many pulses , sabudhana and different types of flour , dals from this shop too . It’s so hygienic and clean . Owner is the sweetest person you could have word with . The samosas are the best available outside of India! Situated next door is a shop that sells a range of spices and vegetables that are not commonly found in other stores. It was a wholesome vegetarian meal comprising of 2 chappatis, boiled rice, 2 dry curries, 1 gravy curry, 1 dal, poppadum, pickle, 1 sweet & 1 fritter. It was good value for money & a pleasant break from takeaway style food.
I. G.It was an ok ok place! Cuz i went there we were the only customers and the service was really slow. The food here is like someone from your home who makes new dishes( it's an ok ok taste) not like the professional taste as i have heard so far. Also there weren't much choices of sweets available but i would say the sweets available were freshly made. I bought a milk fudge(kala kand) which was really good. What i finally suggest is not good for dining but good for other stuff just like you look for in groceries or for in a sweet shop.
G.I've been coming here since I was a babe in arms. And now I bring my son here. Madhav is wonderful. The food is fantastic. A hidden gem of Cardiff for something different to eat at a lunch time. The store sells everything you'll ever need to make an authentic flavoured curry. Can't go to Cardiff without stopping here, even if it's just to grab a few fresh samosas on my way through. xxx.

It’s a small place like a cafe but they have everything from Misal Pav to Thali. I ordered thali, Misal Pav and batata vada. 100%value for money and perfect taste. Shoppers and diners are willing to come from as far away as Newport, Bridgend and Swansea, making special trips to visit this Indian mini-market and restaurant. And it's worth it!
The food is all homemade by Pushpa, who jointly owns the business. Originally hailing from Maharastra, whose state capital is Mumbai (Bombay), on the West Coast of India, and situated quite centrally to this continent-sized country, Pushpa effortlessly blends Southern Indian style cooking with Northern dishes as well as regional specialities. Your mouth is watering even before you cross the threshold.
