Really great shop. There are lovely, thoughtful gifts in the lifestyle side (wish they had room for more decorative home items but it is a decent selection) and the food and produce side is really great. The spice selection is big and the spices are really cheap, and there's lots of great staples. A fantastic local business to support!

Visited today and the shop was great, really simple and easy to use and the staff were really lovely and helpful! Would definitely recommend visiting! This zero waste shop from Sophie Rae is an exciting and welcome addition to Roath, Cardiff's retail scene, having opened in late 2018 after a high profile crowdfunding campaign. It's stylish, great value, and inspirational. There around 160 dry bulk wholefoods – pulses, grains, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, cereals – “Everything you can’t find not in plastic in a supermarket,” says Sophie – which are supplied to Ripple by Bristol ethical cooperative Essential in 20kg paper sacks. Customers bring along their reusable jars, bottles and ice cream tubs (whatever you want really) which they weigh before shopping and then again once they’ve filled them with a product, and a bar code label is produced for scanning at the till. The shop also sells natural beauty products, many of which happen to be made in Wales, such as lip balm from Bridgend, as well as sustainable home ware, cleaning and laundry products, and honey. We wish them the best of luck!

I've been a frequent visitor since Ripple opened and genuinely think it's one of the best things to happen to central Cardiff in years. A huge range of products sourced ethically and with the environment in mind. Information relevant to purchasing more sustainably (where materials are sourced from, dietary requirements, etc) is clearly marked, and the lovely team of staff are always on hand to assist. The vast, vast majority of food items stocked are far cheaper than traditionally packaged options in a standard super market. There are also a lot of weird (in a good way!) and wonderful things you'd struggle to find in most other places. Although this isn't a vegetarian or vegan food store, anyone who is (or is considering) trying to consume less animal product will find a lot of great options. Also want to mention how well they've handled COVID regulations with managing amount of people in store and bringing in a click and collect option for food product. I'd genuinely be a lot less happy in life without Ripple around. I can think of few other places to spend your money that care as much about the impact they have on the environment and the community. And even if you may not care too much about these things, at the very least you'll be able to complete a healthy food shop and save some money.

The food side of the shop was incredible (and surprisingly varied) - the grind your own peanut butter station is inspired. The clothing and lifestyle section is great, the clothes are very cool and responsibly sourced/made and the lifestyle items are thoughtfully picked out. Will most certainly be back soon!

I visited for the first time and was disappointed that you were out of stock of most of the things on my list (rice, frozen fruit & veg, washing up liquid). I filled my containers of toilet cleaner and fabric conditioner and compared my receipt with the old labels from when I last filled them up at a similar store in Bristol. I was shocked to find the loo cleaner 56% more expensive (£3.22 vs £2.07) and the fabric conditioner 89% more expensive (£3.96 vs £2.10). Even more surprising as having moved from Bristol to Cardiff recently I’ve found the cost of living noticeably lower here. I understand you’re a not for profit so expected the prices to be more reasonable. I’d love to see zero waste shopping in Cardiff made more affordable, making it a viable option for more people. On a positive note, really friendly, helpful staff, a great concept and a beautiful shop.

Ethical, environmentally responsible shopping. Take your refillable bottles and containers for cleaning products, toiletries, pasta, pulses, nuts, spices and sweet treats. Also well-stacked packaging-free freezer section. Everything really high quality and good value.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced and well stocked. There are jars to by or a donation box if you don't have enough containers with you. Really well priced AND you are doing your bit for the planet. It's quite small and often busy on a Saturday so I always feel like a giant in there with a back pack on. The selection of gifts and reusable items is really good too. I got my Lucy and Yak dungarees from Ripple and they were cheaper than online, always a plus.

As a local this was a shop I was hoping to come to our community for a long time, it's a bulk buying/zero waste inspiring kind of store. You'll find all your dried goods, laundry/washing essentials and all you have to bring is your own containers. Also, it comes out cheaper than buying the prepackaged stuff in the stores and all is mostly organic. Win win in my view, especially as it is run by incredibly friendly people. A tip would be to visit during the week rather than weekends if you can, gets mighty busy then!!

Love Ripple! We do a shop here every week and can get the majority of our dry food and snacks here. Some of the food is more pricey but some is cheaper than supermarkets too, their herbs and spices are especially good! The snacks and sweets are really tasty too They have jars/bags on sale if you don't have your own but people also donate them for other people to use Thanks for the good work Ripple!

Shop is beautifully laid out and the system (weigh container, print weight sticker, get products, then weigh again scanning weight sticker and print off price) is intuitive and easy to use. Also home products such as laundry liquid and hand wash, and toiletries such as shampoo and soaps. All either dispensed from big containers, or in recyclable, plastic free packaging. They have a selection of lunch tins, washing up cloths, metal straws, bags and greeting cards which are also great if you are looking for a gift for someone. They encourage you to bring your own containers but if you don't have enough they have jars etc that people have donated. There are always staff on hand to help out or rattle the containers for you if the nuts get stuck 😁 We come here regularly and will continue to support Sophie and her hard work. A brilliant shop and fantastic addition to our local shops.

I always mean to and never get around to writing reviews but really wanted to do this for Ripple because I absolutely love what they've created. The ethos behind the shop is obviously fantastic, but so is the execution. It has quite a big range of products, both edible and otherwise, they're all great quality, plenty of containers etc available if you don't bring your own, you can just see how much care and thought went into everything, the staff are super helpful and patient, they support lots of charities, there's a fab community feel, there's so much inspiration, just love it 💗

Ripple sell soaps, detergents, shampoos, tea, coffee, nuts, seeds, cereals, and all sorts of planet-friendly products. A lot of it is good value too. (A few things are pricey, but not outrageously so.) The staff are lovely and helpful too. Try it!

Ripple Living is an amazing idea to purchase goods and food with zero waste. Take your own containers and dispense the product into your own containers and reuse them again and again. The ethical buying is amazing and there absolutely needs to be more places like it. However it's opening times are alkwerd to work round and the place is far to small for how buisy it gets. Taking out some of the huge tables in the centre could help eliviate this and put things like the mettle straws behind the counter maybe? Overall worth visiting if only to stock up on things like herbs and fabric conditioner.
