I'm Justine a girl who loves her food! Now if you do read my reviews or are a fellow foodie then before it's pointed out to me, yes this place is not a restaurant. I come here to Food Inc every now & then as my partner only eats halal meat. This shop is one of only three that sell halal meat in Colchester that I'm aware of. They sell a huge selection of dry goods, tins, sauces, spices, vegetables, fruits, meat & frozen foods from all around the world. You're literally spoilt for choice! I do recommend this place. I've given it 4 stars due to the following reason. The carpark that serves both Food Inc & the Indian restaurant on the corner has at some point this year had a private parking company put their signs up & now control the parking here. So if you're not aware of this fact you too could get caught out & then face a hefty £100 fine for parking here. You can only now use this car park if you're purchasing from either Food Inc or the Indian restaurant. As you enter either establishment you have to enter your registration number on a pad to get free parking. Even if you park for 2 minutes you have to do this or you'll get fined, so do be warned! FoodINC is located in 66 Barrack St, Colchester CO1 2LS. I am from India, so for me foodinc is one of the best store for buying indian spices and foods. They also have a good butchery with lamb, mutton, beef and chicken. Parking available.

A halal butchery and grocery store. Got lamb for eid celebration from them. There’s a car park for their customers but you have to register your car once you get into the store. They also sell some Ghanaian food stuff in there.

Great "cash and carry" style supermarket with a separate (halal) meat counter, the most diverse choice of rice I've ever seen, spices & herbs, fresh veg, and much more. Friendly, helpful staff too. And free parking (remember to enter your reg on entry/departure from the shop or you'll get fined!). Highly recommended!

What a place? It's like Aladin's Cave with everything you need to make authentic Asian dishes. The staff are by far the most knowledgeable people I have ever met. They are happy to give you recipes for dishes and write them down for you. Then they find you the spices you will need and tell how to cook it. If you get a chance go and see these people and you will be glad you did.

Been coming here for years , my regular, been a while as away for business and went in there yesterday and I can’t believe people miss the signs for parking. First thing I spotted when walking in and it was simple procedure. The range has got bigger and so much has changed, well done guys keep up the good work. This place used to be good and to stock a wide selection of mediterranean groceries. The is stock however is running low and usually you cannot find what you looking for. Customer service must be improved as well and they must move their service beyond the Middle-Eastern style.

Love this place. Every spice, pulse, bean and grain you'd ever want at good prices. Nice staff, quality world food. Don't know anything about the meat, but it stocks everything you'd ever want as a vegetarian. I have so many spices now, and my cooking has hugely levelled up as a result of having access to so much affordable, interesting food. An excellent addition to Colchester food culture.

This is a small food market that specialises in Asian and African food. It doesn't have extensive ingredients, but I'd say, half decent. There is a butchery at the back and options for frozen meat and fish too.

It's basically a place for restaurants to stock up. The prices are not so different to a grocery store's, but you can get some huge packs and, also, speciality products I couldn't find anywhere else. Staff's very helpful and polite even if you're not an "important" customer.
