As always, it's a pleasure shopping here. Choice and quality of food is far above the mainstream supermarkets, however what really stands out is the customer service. The staff are wonderful and make you feel welcome at all times. Nothing is too much trouble and that means a lot 🙂

Standard Waitrose in a purpose built store with a large car park. On the outskirts of Colchester, only one way in. If not used to it be careful at the nearby Ipswich Road roundabout, the new system has caused many crashes!

Love this store. It's the only place in Colchester that not only knows what Sherry vinegar is, but actually sells it! Update: very disappointed that they do not sell Truffle Marmite.

Brilliant customer service as always. I forgot my phone and card hence I couldn't pay for my already scanned shopping. The Partner quickly print out my receipt and kept my shopping safe in their chiller. The Partner even took the crisp out and kept it separately in a bag so it doesn't go cold. I am always leaving this shop with a pleasant feeling. Thank you Waitrose for making my life easier.

Great place very busy, but carol on the tills made sure I'd got everything I needed , and all questions answered by wine dept 27/2/22 Just been into the cafe, didn't have much on the menu so we chose soup, however that had run out as well, and it was only 12.45, our server could have done with turning that frown around, very dissatisfied, all the staff are usually so friendly.

The partner I spoke to collected my shopping from the warehouse and then loaded into a trolley for me. While we were waiting for her to get our order we saw some album bulbs, which she scanned for us so we could buy them. She was very helpful. The shopping was reasonably packed in that the eggs and bread weren't packed with heavy items, which regularly happens with another supermarket I've used.

Colchester store is OK, not the largest but you can do a weekly shop there. Bread now lacks Grande Pain, maybe pressure from Lidl across the road is showing.

We decided to try click & collect Grocery shopping at Waitrose after a bad social distancing experience in another supermarket (not Waitrose) to see what the store was like. Staff at the entrance were very professional and we were told where to wait in the store before our trolley of shopping was given to us. Overall it was a very satisfying experience. Although my partner is considered vulnerable, having seen how the store operated, we feel confident that we could do our weekly shopping here now in store rather than use click & collect.

We don't visit here often and this was our first since Covid-19 struck. Surprising lack of signage and personnel to direct you in to the shop, we went in the out, we realised when we left. Staff seemed to ignore the 2metre spacing signs all over the shop. Otherwise seemed OK as it was quiet.

I may be mistaken but it looks as if all employees have been told to wear face-coverings. These are the essential workers who kept the store functioning (without muzzles) during the first 4 months of this catastrophic shutdown. I think at least the poor souls deserve a choice in the matter. After all it was their smiling faces that brought a little pleasure to the shopping chore. Please don't offer us a joyless experience or the cash will go elsewhere.

The best supermarket with the best produce in Colchester and the only place with a bearable shopping experience. Speaking as a typical male with low tolerance of other people's ignorance, I have never been tempted to walk out in the middle of a "big shop" and abandon a trolley full of shopping, something which I have done in supermarkets in the past.

Yes, you get a free coffee when you shop there but it needs to be, the coffee beans taste burnt and you would never pay full price for one. Their bread/rolls baked on site are terrible, the are bearable if you fluke getting them when they are still warm but they go hard as nails within an hour and are very heavy and doughy. Their recipe needs an overhaul. They need to address this as they charge top money for this and yet it is well below Sainsburys and ASDA for fresh bread. On the plus side, the staff are excellent and very helpful and it is also a good size, not a vast warehouse like the other BIG 3.

If your going shopping..... You might as well have the best....... Top marks as all their food and cakes as well as fresh meat and fish.... Are of the highest quality.... Has a good selection of produce at reasonable prices (can be more expensive then elsewhere but can be cheaper too) and friendly staff. The biggest problem with the store is the location and the roads can be jammed at certain times of day (this is becoming a major problem through Colchester though)
