Reviews of Scotmid Coop Saughtonhall

This is my local shop and it's your typical everyday corner shop. You can buy food and drinks and random supplies if caught short. You can buy booze. You can send and receive parcels and top up various cards. They have a hot food counter with a big selection and some daily fresh cakes. As ever the shop can be half or totally empty at random times but that's what makes it exciting. Also the staff here are always top notch and friendly.

These places are usually pretty reliable for a wide range of products out of a relatively small space, the main thing to watch out for being if they're the newer refitted deli style Co-Ops or the older standard stores, the older ones seem to have better prices on a range of basics but the newer ones are more upmarket which you might prefer and more expensive which you probably wouldn't. You makes your choices.

I sometimes top up my smart meter the old fashioned way at this branch and as I've lost my top up card I do it in the most awkward way. I hand them an old receipt with a small printed 20 digit number on it that they have to manually tap in, in order to process the top up. Quite a time consuming faff as I top up gas and electric and they both have separate 20 digit numbers🤣. They've never once huffed, tutted, eye rolled, sighed or acted annoyed ever. Staff here are great 👍

Great local shop for picking up the tastiest artesan bread. This shop has been completely renovated and is nice to visit. They have a hot & cold bakery counter from Steven's, so great for picking up something for lunch.
The Balgreen tram stop is just 2 minutes walk away.

Small handy and average. Parking is a good point and has a good selection of products and booze. Has a bakery part.
