Reviews of St Johns Market In Liverpool City Centre
Yes this place I recommend you to have a look, some really good shops, warm, welcoming, friendly and clean, worth a visit.
After being refurbished it's a lot more and better shops
Nice little shopping center, most stuff you need is here
Not like the old market lovely place but could do with more stalls and we're has all the butchers gone
Plenty of shops to cater for all with a food court with disabled access and toilets
Been a while since visited but is much better after a revamp
Seems very quiet in parts. Was happy with what I wanted to do.
Always good, especially the indoor market, st John's unsung secret.
Just lovely helpful staff in the shops here.
Complete shopping centre in central of the city, many stores, different products good for shopping.
In dire need of some more stalls that don't sell the same as the one round the cirnet
Sanitisers around the shopping area, distance kept by shoppers.
The butchers in the food market is great value the steak is incredible
Ok if your looming foe cheap shop's and fast food outlets
Great place to shop and eat not far from central station
Lots of shops and brilliant fish and chips in the food hall
Excellent shopping center some great bargains to be had
Good shopping great bargains will return Soon
Great stores but nothing to wear for large ladiez to wear
Nothing special compared to other markets. The preponderance of "beggars" in the city centre needs address.
Nice marked defo pick up a few bargains here.
Nice little shop for cards, staff really helpful
Not appealing.
Looks like storage units.
The old layout was much more appealing.
Very few shoppers, will be a long time before I go back.
Always going to st. Johns shopping precinct every weekend do shopping never missed a weekend yet
New layout is good just needs more shops
Fantastic for parking been using St John's for many years
Great place to shop & have a bite to eat
Since having been updated, not a bad place to walk round.
Lots of shops nice place to visit x
Awesome! Up to date and even ahead of trends. Wish I lived closer.
Clean tidy lots of shops and good food
Not for me couple of good stalls lot of closed ones too
Good for shopping and meeting freinds and family
Don't get lost. It's all been refurbished but it's still like a labyrinth in there. Meat stalls sell some tasty stuff and the butchers are very friendly. Cheap clothes and footwear.
Prity dismal since fat Joe got his hands on it not that many stalls gone to the dogs
Recently modernised, variety of stores but a lot of tat as well.
Could do with a few more stalls open.
I like St John's but there to much of the same sort of shops in here.
Good for drink cheap ale who can ask for more
It was modern but not as good as the old market stalls
Breakfast in the market, excellent, coffee from the Portuguese Cafe, exceptional
Plenty of food places & a few good boutiques
Not has good had the old market but it's getting there
Not as good as the old market but it's ok
Spent a few days working at the University of Liverpool. Also visited The Tate, Walker Gallery, etc. Comfortable stay, could have stayed a few days more, if it weren't for commitments. Warm and vibrant city with plenty to see and explore. Good choice of eateries.
Would like to visit again as I missed the Terracotta Warriors exhibition. Great city - see you again before the end of 2018!
Great place to buy your daily needs
Excellent place 2 shop and best prices ever
Some great shops in there from clothes to stationary
Sad not much upstairs but lots of other shops downstairs
Excellent little shops good price
Got this vape pen from da top floor
Great for shopping lots of choices of shops
Great place to shop all year long
1st time i have been back in years. Got a couple of bargains.
Great value for money lots to see
This market as been ripped apart by Liverpool Council The person who made the plans and Liverpool council obviously never been a market before Chronicle white concrete blocks, not an traditional market stall insight If they had visited Newcastle or Halifax or Leeds markets it would have been a who different story
However not all is lost it still as fantastic stalls professional store holders running some great market sell great food, clothes, toys, ornaments leather bags and purses wallets, is even wonderful baby clothes Outfitters and fantastic cafes from Caribbean Italian and English The starts are for the stall holders not the council
Very nice and warm people 10/😁
Nicely kept, quiet little market.
Open early,Very clean and nice staff.
Nice place nice art gallery on first floor
Not as good as the old style John's hardly any stalls
Cheap shops. Fast food restaurants and some entretainment.
Loads of shops plenty to choose from enjoyed it
Nice and shiny and new. Well set out
Love the pokemon yoghio shop in there
Bit like stepping back into the 1980s and going shopping with Mum on a Saturday.
The marketplace is pretty dead since the place got done up and hiked the rent up. There's a little pet shop in here i wish i could say I used, but every time I try to go by the shopkeepers are so unfriendly and stare at you as though youve interrupted them just for looking around for items you need. I want to support local businesses but they are making it hard and ive tried a few times and ended up so uncomfortable being watched in stony silence that ive left. Bummer.
Big selection at really good prices
Brilliant card shop and cafe in market.
Good market has all you need
A good range of shops to choose from
Great value ad great staff
Love plenty of shops and bargins
First Grotto for my grandson he loved it
Plenty of good stalls with good quality selections
Good selection of Clothing and food.
Good but could be better
Simply put, always great bargains to be had here, plus the fresh meat selection will put most high street butchers to shame.
However many of the shops have shut down since my previous visit.
Prity dismal since fat Joe got his hands on it not that many stalls gone to the dogs
Not for me couple of good stalls lot of closed ones too
The market used to be the hustle and bustle of Liverpool. Since the markets refurbishment it does look so busy. The old markets had so many characters in them.
Smart getting there.
Fab, so many different bags
I just love it xxx
got what you need but could do with a scifi shop
Preferred old precinct.pushed and shoved and not happy with the shops
Not as good as it used to be but getting back there
Good area for a shopping trip
not sure why it's called morning market actually, if I go to a morning market, I assume it begins at 06:00-12:00 st Johns however doesn't open until 09:00-1800 and you have to unbelievably pay for the rest room, man, woman and child, if you can hold on, go to the L1 bus terminal which is free like the Albert Dock conveniences. All said and done it's a good place to shop, under cover, with great store choice for something a little different than the normal sometimes
Great place to shop loved it
got what you need but could do with a scifi shop
Cafe great food not to price
Very nice shopping experience in Liverpool
Great stores lots to choose from.
Lots of services, stores and food areas for a day out
Fab, so many different bags
Not that good needs more shops
Another shopping centre, parking quite expensive
Lots of variety at good prices.
What a variety of new interesting little shops opened up in St John's centre.. Lectric Eye is my first stop without fail as I can certainly get everything I need as I collect all sorts and love chatting to the guys who own it....who go out of their way to get anything you want ... if they can get it cos they stock rare stuff sometimes but lots of other interesting little gems hidden with in their shop...all TV, Films, newwave,, punk, ,....memorabilia, for the older generation but they welcome all...and I love it as it reminds me of my teenager years, give these guys a go as they are helping St John's Market become alive again...we need guys like these !
Not enough selection of shops.
Large variety of shops on two floors.
Decent for Christmas and clothes shopping
Good butchers in the food market.
Very pleased got what I went for
So friendly and so much choice
Always get lost in here but like going in
Good indoor shopping centre
Not as useful as before the new refurb.
Every thing you need under one roof
Walked through St John's Shipping Center- did not visit market which is on first floor. Had meal in Pound Cafe. Food ok but not much ambience. Bit like transport cafe- cheap and cheerful.
Wide variety of market atall to visit cafes butchers and fish counter gift stalls and miscellaneous items 😀 👌 😄 😊 available for
Gifts 🎁 and ❤️ house 🏠
Went for watch battery got what I wanted
Lost its atmosphere and charm and character
Good value for shopping
We love shopping here
Undercover good selection of shops
Good but could be better
Very nice place good service
I love the shoe shops
The best way to seeing what Liverpool is all about,
Good shopping place
Despite the competition from Liverpool One, the market still attracts a lot of shoppers. There's quite a variety on offer from clothes to cut price books etc. I often use the Watch repair/shoe repair stall; prices are more than reasonable.
It's Liverpool need I say any more
Every thing you need under one roof
Always get lost in here but like going in
Lovely street market
Very busy but you have pay for toilets
Another shopping centre, parking quite expensive
Very clean choice of venues.
Lots of shops to look round xx
Love it. So friendly
Great amount of shops
Always busy. Best thing is the tarrot reader in the market hall upstairs. Best £10 I've ever spent. How she knew such personal information is astonishing.
Every thing I need in one place
Parking is a serious issue in Liverpool now
Good variety of shops
Stalls are modern and clean
It's Liverpool need I say any more
Good range of shops
Good place for a bargain.
Very nice and clean
I just love it xxx
Great place to shop
Martins meats are lovely. Roast pork, beef and boiled ham excellent. Pies, pigs belly, black pud and lots more. Yummeeeey,.
Chicken George has a great selection of meats and new sausages to 👢.
Nice big market.
Good place for veg
Went there to do council work
A very cool place
Cool spot
Good shopping place.
Good place to shop
All part of the liverpool experience
Nice food
Shame it closes early.
Lots of shops with lots of choice at some good prices. There's a great music and film shop selling vinyl, CDs and DVDs at great low prices; well worth a look.
Needs more shops.
Great fish and chips
Not many places open
Great place to shop
Great place to shop
Great place to shop
Good place to shop
It's ok
Great place to shop
Great place for shopping
Liverpool City FC, flags, bunting and Never give up messages every where you looked. Obviously there's an impending soccer game shortly. Besides All that, the place seems to be taken by Storm. Food halls and other female stores. The total lack of men's shops,is abundantly clear. I wonder, who holds the purse in many households in Liverpool. The Mall is nice though, it's clean well run and free from trouble, inspite of the school holidays I bought a lovely big dragon, that lights up while changing colour, via a diamond shaped light. I also liked the veriety of Wild t.shirts, upstairs in the stalls areas. It's a place you can shop with no hassles, eat shop and take your time.
Very sparsely populated.
Good shopping experience
Not really a good place
Nice hot dogs
Good shopping place
Never changes. Never needs to
Smart getting there.
Too few shops
Lovely street market
Not as good as it used to be
There are some really good hidden gems and some mediocre at best stalls too. Since its multi million pound revamp which is hard to see where that money was spent, the market has failed to attract new traders and shoppers alike. Many of the stalls are empty and the traders that are there stand around like they've lost the will to live. The place feels sterile and characterless with non of the hustle and bustle that sore the market through the 80's and 90's. Liverpool CC have a lot to answer for in the negligent poor handling and miss management of the markets of Liverpool.
Not much atmosphere
Every thing under1 roof
Plenty variety of shops
Not as good as it used to be
It's okay
Good little market
Really cheep for clothes
Its ok
Love Liverpool for shopping
This is a great market
Good place most of the shops are open could do with more verierty from clothing and trainers but over all its good but could do with much larger food court as its way to small for a mall that size.
Its ok
Its ok

Just like looking around

Xx
Buzzing
A bit scares
Would be a good shopping centre if thete was more going on in the Market. Clean, more room. But no Soul. Well Done Gerraud, you killed it stone dead.
Like the variety of shops here. The food outlets have good variety but unfortunately l wouldn't recommend using the rest room unless it's really necessary.
Very good shopping. Nice an clean, but it's been a few years since I've been there.got a little lost inside, but it's a great place
Convenient convenient store
Found what I was looking for
Will I go back? For sure
Not the best place for fun or leisure
But if you need food or a drink
This is one of the place I would think
Good essentials varieties
St John's Carpet & Flooring is excellent value for money and very professional. The market itself could do with more stalls and the entrance up the escalaters needs opening up more.
Not the variety that there used to be.
There a lot of good clothes shops inside St Johns. It is strange that they charge 20p for the toilets but other than that it is a good market to stop by for some clothes shopping.
Lots and lots of bargains. Warning don't take your wife and your wallet. Wallet will be thinner, but I did ask for extra discount on 4psirs of sandals for my wife and got it
Busy most of the time. Wide range of shops including jewellers, clothing, hairdressers and stationery shops. There is a food court that caters for most tastes. Although it was modernised many years ago, it hasn't been the same. It used to have lots of stalls with traders selling all sorts of food, clothing and other stuff, with little room to move around. Now it is just regular size stalls, with a large central area. Many stalls are unsold because of the high rent.
Its not like it used to be, not much variety of stalls, clothes not that cheap, place not that clean, gone are the good old days of st. Johns.
It's a market so bit sparse, nice cafe inside but they don't sell chips
Nice place to visit . Plenty of shops to inspire . Again you could spend all day there . 👍
Cheapest place for lots of goods in city centre. Great for fruit and veg, beauty, quirky shops and household items.
A lovely place to shop, something for everyone, some nice little cafes great prices very clean.
Good shopping. Difficult access to car park after centre closed. Long walk back feels dark and isolated
Far better than when it first opened. Like the food area very much. Good typical butchers Like it used to be.
Always a full of people 👭
Always nice to visit St John's Market when in Liverpool. Would be more enjoyable if there were some more Stalls!
I hang around here most days. Friendly people and a lot of nice shops to keep you busy and your wallets empty :)
I enjoy St.Johns Market. I use to go as a child and it sends me back to innocence and my youth. (As does most of Liverpool lol)
There's no too much, the butchers sell good meat. The rest of the stand no interesting at all
Since upgrade in market area I don't like new lay out not easy to find your away around no information on what's there
Good atmosphere, a lot of shops and restaurantes, it's in city centre so you're close to more shops and pubs
Very nice to shop, plenty of places in here to eat, 2 levels of shopping, lifts to all levels
Varied outlets for all aspects of shopping. Also plenty of places to eat there too.
The refurb looks nice but the market has lost its heart and atmosphere. Lots of empty stalls.
Some good shops, nice little food hall for choice of food, sub way off plus 2 or 3 more
The iconic St John's market has everything you need under one roof and the price is always right..!
Excellent service and helpful staff, great choice of quality food and household goods.
I only visited the City too take my son and friends too, look at the University and I had a look around and found it was very interesting place
always love coming here every time we visit
St John's shopping centre and market is a very good place to shop the staff are all very friendly and the food is lovely to eat
Lively and lots of choice through out , 15% of at the perfume shop today 20th June
Well laid out arrangement of stalls but sadly many are unoccupied
A wide rang of clothing and goods at good prices. In addition there is a food hall that sells meat, fish and game.
Jack coffee is best and the coffee and jacket potato are nice Laura best and also tom to talk and friendly
Very friendly shopping centre, indoor and outdoor nice places to eat and drink
The lay out is looking so much better, more shops inside! Highly Recommend!!
Fab place
Great for cheap and cheerful not couture! Also a handy if busy Aldi
Very brief visit. Went to buy a rug. Bought a rug. Left. Would definitely go back.
Good for things for xmas presents or birthday.weddings
Great place for shopping there places to eat pubs close bye disabled friendly
Good value shops but the market struggling, modern times I suppose
Love the variety of shops at this centre. Discovered the market recently.
Love the way you have all the shops you need under one roof
Nice. But shame about the 20p charge for the toilets.
Also lots of homeless people around the streets of Liverpool.
Clean and tidy. Nice environments.goid range of shops under one roof.x
I don't often, when when I am in the city centre, I love getting into St Johns. It makes my day out in the city centre.
Looking a bit dated now, some parts are unkempt good when there is bad weather as indoors.
The actual market is a disgrace but the shop s and the good catch are well worth a visit
Shops are good but I hate the parking prices are very very expensive...parking should be affordable for customers
I just had a look for the first time in a while.
Sadly, it's a shadow of its previous self.
This place used to be rammed with people jostling for position at the counters !
Not anymore. Many stalls had become vacant so an expensive refurbishment was carried out. This massively reduced the size of market and created a very sterile environment with little left of the previous bustling market atmosphere.
Even now, after the refurbishment, many stalls stand vacant. There are some good stalls but few customers about. I think that some traders don't even expect customers!
I waited to be served at one unattended stall for several minutes, then gave up before the trader ever returned.
Beautiful and was a perfrct experience of year 2017-2018
Great place 2 shop if u dont want 2 go into town centre
It's ok but seems very tired. Needs a bit of a boost to bring life back to it
Great food court and some nice shops.. Not as good as it use to be.
Went mainly for the car park, easy enough and 24 hr, lanes are a bit tight...
The market used to be the hustle and bustle of Liverpool. Since the markets refurbishment it does look so busy. The old markets had so many characters in them.
Nice to find some smaller traders and independents indoors with a built in food court.
A good variety of shops with a great selection of products for all ages.
Loads of shops great food court easy access to the rest of the town centre
Good variety of shops, very clean and good places to eat
Well worth a look, food Hall has a selection of cafés at great prices, plus a market section as well, then walk into a two tiered shopping centre, with a great choice of shops, you can buy shoes from £5-£10, amazing value
Took a walk round newly refurbished market, found quite a few empty stalls there
nice clean environment. plenty of stalls. Butchers very good.
Nice place shop food and drinks nicely done looking cool
Bit let down it looks beautiful but its half empty needs someone to go in and give it a boost
Lots of places to look around good value for locals and also for tourist.
Not a bad shopping arcade some decent stalls and shops
Market has been renovated lots of different stalls, worth a look
Great place to shop, plenty of stores within the complex.
Lots of shops of a decent range, use the free toilets upstairs!
Good variety of stalls with good prices an friendly staff.
Great and suits everyone's budget
