O. B.Great shop, wide array of items, local shop and conveniently located on Market Place. Go here whenever I need anything.
P. C.It's open 24 hours a day and tries to be an upmarket convenience store. To be fair the fruit and vegetables are pretty good but quite expensive compared to a real supermarket. But, they do everything including Oyster top-up and even have a coffee machine in the rear. Small Kosher section in the rear and a limited selection of frozen foods. The fresh dairy produce and mostly East European and Turkish meats look quite appetising. They have a good selection of Wines, Beers and spirits to keep the local boozers happy. All in all a good convenience store.
C. Y.Perfect neighborhood shop. Has a wide selection of everyday items. Good quality fruits of veg and other essential items. Long opening hours is extremely appreciated and saves the day many times during emergencies.
D. A.Coffee machine is best coffee in aerea £1.50. Great store clean and friendly open 5am ish.

R.Been using this store for the 11 years since we moved to the area. They have a very good selection of fruit, veg, cheeses and foods that most households require and more. Secondly, the staff are always pleasant. On many occasions they’ve allowed me to pay them later if I haven’t had the right amount of cash (when I didn’t have my debit card). You don’t get that too often. A great asset to the community.
R.I’ve seen Bekems grow over the last 10 years to what it is today.
It has a great variation of foods, a great selection of fruit and vegetables from across the globe to choose from which is a major pull for a local store, so the residents don’t need to go to the larger stores for their provisions.
The staff are helpful, and Marie in particular is always on hand to help you find something if you can’t locate it. She is always smiling, extremely friendly and a great asset to the store. Keep it local!!!
I. I.They have everything at reasonable prices. But they get 5 starts for being open 24/7 and for being always extra helpful.

Ideal place during lockdown as hardly ever a queue when i visit but still seems a busy shop.
5 star for the girls as they are usually very nice, 4 for the guys.

Expect some prices to be a little higher than a major supermarket, but this place is so much nicer to visit than most small convenience stores. The owner and his staff try hard to help at all times. J. M.I was going to keep this to myself, but since it has happened to me half a dozen times while in the store, I felt compelled to share my feelings in the hopes that someone at the store will read this and do something about it.
In these tough times, we are all either doing our part to keep ourselves and others safe, or we are choosing not to. Either way, it's a risk just to leave the house let alone go into your favorite grocery store, especially one so small. But I believe in supporting local small business so choose to shop at Bekem's. I love this little store. The produce is beautiful, there are lots of specialty items and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. Except when it comes to one thing...hence this review...
Like many shops, Bekem's has signs pointing its customers to hand sanitizing stations (which I've never seen anyone use except myself), arrows on the floor and spaced circles leading up to the counter. I realize after that there is not much more they can do--it's up to us to follow the rules. Like I said--some of us are considerate of others and some people only care about themselves. We can't control what others do; we can only control ourselves. However...
I have now been harassed in the shop several times by customers. I have been "fake coughed on" twice after defending another customer who asked for more space but wasn't granted it. A father holding on to his 2 year-old daughter's hand loudly scolded me after I asked him to kindly step back when he bent over to grab something, his face right next to mine. Elderly women, who, what I can describe as "playing dumb" have stood right next to me as I pay, starting to put their groceries on the counter before I can even pack my things and move. And don't get me started on the teenagers, cutting across the line to get candy, none of them wearing masks. Kids will be kids.
All of these occurrences happened in plain sight or within earshot of the people working at the store, either at the till or in the aisles. And not once has anyone come to my or anyone else's rescue when these things have occurred. Would it be too much to ask that when you hear or see a devoted customer in distress to defend them, if even just a little bit? I know that it is not your job to police your customers, but a simple, "Would you kindly social distance for this customer, please? Thank you" would go a long way.
Those of us who feel this way usually just keep our mouths closed--that's because we are polite, and we were raised to treat each other the way we would like to be treated. Unfortunately, there are folks out there who only seem to care about themselves, and when those in charge don't say anything, they get away with it, the behavior continues, and we who dare to speak up are seen as the bad guys.
Let me end by saying I love the store and the people who work there are super lovely. I won't stop going. But please, if you own the store and you are reading this, help us out a little bit. Thanks!

E. N.Discovered this store during the beginning of lockdown when the big supermarkets were under siege from people stockpiling. It was a real life saver. Lots of lovely fresh produce and a nice size store that has everything we needed. I am now a Bekems regular and will remain so. I enjoy shopping locally where possible. They also have beautiful strawberries and a superb range of Hershey's chocolate that I haven't seen anywhere else

M. S.Great local shop for all you home needs. Unlike many other local shops, this is a large, smart and modern place,(Recently refurbished.) Extremely good and fresh vegetables, a massive selection of other goods. And a plethora of organic items. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and although the prices can be a bit on the expensive side, they are to be expected in NW11. Open late, I think everyday of the year. It is a cornerstone of the local community.
B. S.Smart and modern shop, open 24/7, 365 days a year. Huge choice of foodstuffs including Polish, Romanian, Turkish and kosher. Large selection of chocolates. Large and varied wine and alcohol stock is highly recommended by customers. Also extras such as birthday and event cards. Does home deliveries. Very helpful staff.
