Reviews of Church Street Market
R. S.
I have been living very to close to church street Market for last 20 years. Its the best place to buy fresh vegetables fruits, fish, groceries everyday foods and drinks. It's neat clean safe and peaceful. Monday to Friday is small market but on Staruday its a huge Market with more stuff. Also you can have nice fresh food cooked in front of you to eat. Me and my whole family loves it. So fortunate for living in this area in some ways.
S.
True to the meaning Market. Best day to visit is Saturday. I stress it can get very busy and a haven for pick pockets. Approximately 70-80 independent market stalls, running down a high road. Shops on both sides. Many of the items sold by stall holders cannot be readily found in London, Varied range of shops cafes, restaurants catering to all needs. This is very much a market catering for local and everyday Londoners needs.
Z. S.
A very busy street market, reasonable prices, fresh fruits, vegetables and fish. There is also shops around the market, selling clothes, carpets, shoes etc. So you can easily find everything you need.
M. V.
I love with market especially in Lockdown times! You know what it works all time as usual and the range of goods and foods the same as before the Pandemic!
S. M.
Amazing market where you can buy nearly anything with affordable to cheap prices compare to prices at well known super markets...Also you can buy clothes/shoes/electrical and mobile accessories plus lot more specially on Saturdays.
k. r.
Too many shops closed but the street food was great
H. I.
This market stall sells the best fish and square bread. Delicious! Very busy and staff are a bit abrupt due to space limitation etc.,
Food cannot be faulted.
F. K. (. M.
Luv the narjet especially the little independent cafés and narjet stalls. Never bought clothes there but they look like a real bargain but I think they might smell like fish as a number of the clothes stalls are situated way too close to the fish monger.
p. h.
Not much there. But I got some very very nice fruit
a. m.
Great place with so much variety from food, clothing items a wide range of products with very affordable prices.. even the world wide arab countries native shop there too.
S. M.
very stylish and cheerful stall sellers with so much bargains and places to eat under some tents lol
S. M.
The best place to buy fruits and vegetables on decent prices. One bowl is £1
R. P.
This is a great Saturday market... lots of good deals on inexpensive clothing and accessories... There are some good food stands there too if you are looking for a meal on the go... And it has a fantastic indoor antiques market to explore as well.
I had a lot of fun one afternoon few weeks ago exploring it and talking to the many merchants there. This is a multi cultural, multi faith environment where everyone is welcome.
I will be going back to it time and again I am sure.
G. L. M.
Not so busy, on Wednesdays before than 12:00noon is everything fresh still. I recommend the Asian shop after the phamarcy. They hot every exotic vegetable possible to find in london i love this place.
A. N.
Cheap and can find good fresh fruits.
T. M.
A bit seedy but love the fresh food.
K. W.
With variety of vegetables, lean towards english to asian vegetables and produce. Fishmongers and butchers on site.
P. W.
lots of fruit and veg with parades of shops selling gifts hardware and all sorts, near to Alfies emporium
O. E. W.
A fun market you can get lots of Arabic sweets, falafel and flat bread. There are cheap clothes and veg too. Really an old fashion market.
A. B.
It's for amateurs . It's my secret Saturday street .. Tell no one about it .. It has lowest prices you can ever think of but in a mess ..If you have the temper to look for good quality stuff in piles & racks .. so I recommend you go for it. It's an adventurous market where you may of may not be lucky to find the stuff you need.
I like the vegetables sellers section and fresh nuts varieties. I love the oriental pickles, which is necessary on my dinner table.
V. D.
On Saturdays there is a stall which sells very cheap Charles Tyrwhitt products.
K. A.
Lovely market if you need to buy fresh fruits, vegetables or fish.
Y. Q.
Best Saturday market in london
M. R.
Brillant place to be, especially Friday and Saturdays. You can pop into
Geggs for a drink, and if you need the toilet the library allows you to use their facilities.
P.
This is a lively market especially on a Saturday. When I am walking around the market it's hard to believe that everyone is in lockdown because of the amount of shoppers. At the moment they are selling food only, but the vegetables, meat and fish look very fresh and there is a lot to choose from. It is one of the biggest markets I have seen in London if not the biggest. Apart from the market there are some useful stores around including a Santander bank, a post office, a large friendly chemist, Tesco and a Leyland DIY store. There is also a KFC and a Greggs and plenty of independent coffee shops and snack bars. The market is very well located.
J. D.
This is a pretty much a middle eastern market. The bulk of the stalls are cheap clothes and there are some fruit and vegetable stalls, dried nut/legume sellers, fishmongers and the prices are quality are good. You can also buy fresh, hot food there including paella, fish dishes etc. This is not a vegan, organic, hipster type of place.
F. “. G.
It's a very good market for spices and vegetables and clothes fair prices some good bargains just keep a eye on your belongings 👑👪🌍❤️🌹🙏🦉
G. G.
Good to visit for fresh vegetables at prices that beat tesco, a little bit if work taking place in church street and as soon as this completes we will see alot more stalls
F. F.
I love this place, such good bargains
G. M.
Market with nice price lovley 😍💜
D. C.
V average local market. Low priced goods. No dazzle, etc
c. m.
Lovely market ! Still as old school as it gets ! Has been running all threw epidemic ! A nice place to land some great vegetables and fruit :)
A. H. W.
Well covid has affected the market not so many stalls as normal. A few shops are still open like tesco and the 4 or 5 £pound shops Gregg's the bakery is open. And the buthers/ grocery stores. Not sure if the antique shops are open for business
M. T.
Not as many stalls as there used to be on a Saturday (declined before C19), but has fruit/veg, fish, takeaway, cheap clothes, fabric, carpets, watches, perfumes, a little dry grocery (more in church street shops), a little homewares (more in shops), shoes, and other odds and ends. Didn't see butchery.
T. H.
love this market amazing food choices
G. O.
Was thinking of really awesome stalls.when imagined about the place but it wasnt as so not so much of my type of stalls
T. O.
A great range of stalls with lovely fruit, veg and other produce available. Less stalls than usual due to Covid but still quite a number.
T. C.
Doubled it size in the last year or so. Fresh fruits and vegs, fish can be purchased here. As well we good rug stand, the rest is stalls with cheap and cheerful stuff.
J. M.
It seems this street market has been running on Saturdays forever. It is very vibrant and has an eclectic mix of stalls. Amongst all the stalls selling fashion, bedding, perfume, food, wet fish, toys and jewelry are a few cooked food stalls. The two I like are the Kebab stall near the Lisson Grove end of the market and the grilled fish stall close to middle. Excellent fresh fish grilled to order served with rice and a trace of salad. Over the years the market has changed to reflect the times but has always stayed lively and exciting.
P. C.
Ok if your not delivering
S. l. M.
My favourite place and nice people and my favourite place to eat fish.
G. S.
It is a very vibrant market, and very atmospheric.
I love the mix of fruit, veg and other stalls selling clothes., bags, household items.etc.
The shops , pharmacy seem to be busy as well.
I was surprised THE , beautiful shop selling dress materials is closed.
C. K.
Very nice place to get fresh vegetables or fish. And if you fancy knock off gucci it's a place to get one too.
A. A.
The market where you can buy a cheap goods. Nice public market!
G.
I've been going to church st market almost every saturday since i was a kid, there are good vendors with quality products and others with not such high quality, a good eye could save you from rotting fruit and veg. Otherwise its a great atmosphere on a Saturday there are street food vendors and and amazing 4 floor antique market half way down church street which i highly recommend
J. K.
Superb range of essential shopping. Visit Iain and Bubbles freshest seafood and the nuts man for your treats.
S. E.
A nice local street market with a very strong Arab flavour. If you are an Arab living in the UK or visiting and you miss your home country you will definitely feel warm there. I also had delicious and very affordable tuna steak and sea bass dish with spicy rice from a Tunisian street shop.
J. K.
A great traditional market where if you take your time will be sure to find some hidden gems and great fresh produce. Also recommend checking out shops lining both sides of Church Street including Alfie's antique market which is an aladins cave of various delights.
L. L.
It's an "authentic" London street market. You can find good food, groceries and clothes aswell for really reasonable prices... It always worth a bus ride to get here, if you want new clothes... you'll be amazed by the prices you can get on quality clothing.
C. D.
A great market, for all one needs, food wise, fresh fruits , vegetables, fish, olives, oils, etc. Plenty of cheap clothes, perfumes, jewelery, luggage, best at weekends, busy in summer. Plenty of bargains, in local shops, by market. Great community atmosphere, alot of Arab, Kurdish speakers, & U.K of course. Lively. Kids always welcomed. 🤗😍
J. O.
Real traditional market. Fruit, veg, clothes new and old, electronics etc etc. Just about anything you need at very good prices. Food from all 4 corners of the world to eat in stalls, shops, cafes and pub restaurants. Well worth spending a couple of hours here but you'll need plenty of bags to take stuff home!
H. A. F.
If u have some time off on a Saturday. Get here. They have everything you need at incredible prices. From fish. To plugs. Electrics. Books. All types of seafood. Fruits... it's truly a great experience. Love it
M. P.
This could be a great street market but suffers from the street being open to through traffic for motor vehicles thus removing the option of just pleasantly ambling between stalls, and reduces the appeal to a family with young children or the less able. That said I've made a few purchases and been satisfied with price and quality.
J. R.
I do like the change of scenary and atmosphere that this market brings to my week. We travel across London every week because we appreciate this area and to add to that, i personally feel that Westminster Council is one of the best in London. It is run by very good people who listen and apply sound advice. They have maintained this market and area in general - very effectively. The market itself is very good for middle-eastern and Mediterranean foods amongst a variety of sweet treats and bargain clothing (suits, shirts, shoes, fragrances, etc). I do appreciate edgware road and church street market - a pleasant mixture of cultures. London - there's really nowhere like it on planet earth.
H. I.
If you have the passion to share the word of God to the Muslim community. This is the place and honestly they need the word of God. Remember the Bible said "For God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believe in him will not perish but have eternally life. (John 3:16) whosoever means whosoever.
I was there to share the good News of our Lord Jesus Christ. And all Glory to God.
J. J.
Got there a bit late stalls packing up. Nice fruit n veg stalls.Smells from the Fresh cooking stalls are great. Nice market. Worth a visit.
R. E.
This is a very vibrant & busy market, with lots of things to buy including, clothes, shoes, bags, fruit & street food. Edgware road is at the other end which is even busier, with clothes shops, jewellery, restaurants, supermarkets etc. In fact from Edgware road you can walk to Marble arch, Oxford street, Regents street then on to the famous statue & square named after the Greek god of love called "Eros" in the West end, which has world famous theatres & if you have kids then the Trocadero is a must see, as it has every arcade game you can think of, the West end is tourist heaven!
C. S.
Love this market. Independantly owned stalls and shops. Good selection of fruit and veg.
C. N.
Great value on lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Other items for sale such as clothing and bags. Just make sure the items you buy aren't too ripe. Only downside is it's not the cleanest.
R. l.
yesterday we want to church street Markets London NW8 8DT , we find the fresh bread Kurdistan bakery its so testy and in Taza Kebab haves the very delicious Doner kebab ,lots of vegetables 👌👌👌👌👌
N. A.
Church Street Market, is a side of London that you don't see everywhere. It is located in the heart of the English capital, but you walk across and see and hear people as if you were in an open market in the Middle East or South Asia. It is very resourceful market, and reasonably cheap. However, the compromise you make for the price is noticeable on the quality...
R. K.
Great market, with loads of fresh products. Sellers are nice and fast.
I recommend if you're looking for fresh fruits and vegetable aswell as fish.
J. L.
Good place to find the odd bargain ,but too many smelly fish stalls and alot of the vegetables/fruit on offer is bad, especially on Saturdays
D. P.

R. V.
Great value on lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Other items for sale such as clothing and bags. Just make sure the items you buy aren't too ripe. Only downside is it's not the cleanest.
P. B.
You can find most of your Fruit and veg at Church st market in addition to any middle eastern products, fish and meats.
S. W.
Without doubt the best market in London! Biased opinion, yes, 40 years worth!!
M. C.
Fair price for fruit and veg but not as vibrant as in past. But some excellent eating places such as paella Bros and a a few Arab places highly recommend these.
G. T.
I've been visiting Church Street Market my entire childhood and it's still somewhere that I hold close to my heart. It really hasn't changed much since I was a kid. There are still the awful imported toys that make questionable noises, makeup which you know isn't 100% legit, and some really cheap winter coats that look lovely and comfortable.
The whole place is very reminiscent of only fools and horses for me, and I can't go there without coming back with something.
I will say it seems longer now than when I was a kid, so there's plenty to look at, not just the first half.
J. M.
I live in the area. The market is nice and a wide range of products are sold including cooked food. However parking can be a nightmare on Saturdays and causes problems for both residents and visitors.
J. H.
What a great market. Good fresh produce and reasonable prices.
V. L.
Nice to see alot of various shopping market
S. K.
There has been a real improvement in the street food vendors recently with Layla's Creole and the Moroccan Paella stands. The market is also good for Fruit and Veg however it still badly lacks variety.

R. R.
Great swordfish paella 🥘
A. S.
Good value for money
j. b.
Dauntingly unfashionable along this stretch providing a wide choice of the necessities; fruit, fish, veg and 'schmattas' to the local community at combative prices. Excellent value.
Street lined with 'antique' dealers, interior 'furnishers' and eateries.
Cosmopolitan, decrepit, edgy and authentic.
A. K. G.
It is a great market. Here are available everything from the fresh foods, clothes etc in a large. It was a very old traditionally market.
B. P.

The food is nice, and prices low and affordable.
J. F. -. B.
Well established market in London for fruit and veg
M. R.
Expect the library entrance to smell like fish, the stuff there are rip offs(not everything of course) maybe if you don't really care about your money go on spend all you want and expect lots of Arabs and stuff(nothing against Arabs just saying) and since I live near churstreet I and can see it through my window( the market) I would say that it's ok but the thing is fix the god damn public toilet it's closed and looks like it hasn't been touched for years LITERALLY because I remember it being in use 6 years back and it's not in use for like 5 years
S. H. H. (.
