I have been delighted when this fruit & veggies shop opened, happy to finally have a broader range of fresh veggies available across the road, and to support local independent businesses over big retailers. The owners are friendly and polite, the shop itself is tidy and clean, and the prices seemed reasonable, offering good value compared to the Co-op across the road. However, after regularly shopping in here for a while recently I have noticed that the prices have gone up overnight, and while I used to fill a bag of veggies for around £10, I paid about 17£ for the same amount and choice of veggies last time, ie. the small box of cherry tomatoes now costs £3, while it's £2 anywhere else in Walthamstow. I noticed a similar increase in prices in most of the produce. I do appreciate that they need to make a living, but increasing prices like this overnight is not a smart move to make customers come back. I will still shop here for hard-to-find veggies though, while always keeping an eye on prices. Also, not sure about any of the produce being actually organic certified.
