Extremely impressed with my first experience of Jana Food Centre, which up until now, I've politely ignored since it first opened. What tempted me to visit, and then only after two acquaintances had remarked upon it, was the rotisserie chicken available at the front of the store. I enquired as to the price of a rotisserie chicken, which turned out to be £6, and to this, I duly agreed. For that, I was anticipating a roast chicken dumped in a foil bag, much as you'd get from any other rotisserie. The gent came out to serve up my chicken and he began by taking out an oval plastic tray. He lined the tray with a large pitta bread, which I wasn't expecting, served the chicken onto it, and put a lid on the tray. I was all ready to take that away as it was, but, after having added a carrier bag, he then reached into a nearby refrigerator and added what turned out to be a tray of pickled vegetables, and a tub of a white sauce that I'm unable to name or very well to describe, other than to say it was pleasant and it had some garlic in it. I'm not normally a fan of pickles, but I am a believer in trying foods in whatever way the cook sees fit to serve them, and both the pickled vegetables and the white sauce were pleasant and welcome additions to the basic dish of roast chicken breast in pitta bread. It's the little touches such as these that make all the difference; I suspect that that will not be the last roast chicken I buy from Jana Food Centre. Lastly, a complimentary note is in order as regards value for money. This does not simply refer to their addition of a pitta bread, some pickled vegetables and a sauce, the costs of which are low in relation to the benefit. It's also spectacular value relative to eat-in or takeaway options; I am familiar with the prices at chicken restaurants such as Nando's, and I am familiar with the cost of ordering a kebab to this area from a couple of different outfits in Norbiton and Kingston. As a rough example, ordering up a large kebab for delivery from Kingston runs to nearly £18. For £6, a third of the cost of ordering in a kebab, I got a roast chicken, pitta bread, pickles and sauce. I ate the two chicken breasts in pitta exactly like a kebab, so I regard that as a reasonable comparison, and to be able to obtain that for £6 within reach of where I live is a very good deal. I'm pleased that I eventually got around to trying Jana Food Centre, and will almost certainly be back.

An very nice middle eastern shop, very tidy and clean, the staff are nice and helpful, the general fruits are fresh and good price, the rare fruits are abit on the expensive side compared to other supermarkets, but I do appreciate the fact that they have price on every single one of them, so you know how much you are spending unlike many other places where you’ll get surprised at the cashier. They have fresh nuts and olives, amazing quality and pricing are also very good. Hope it stays that way. They also provide fresh grilled chicken, it comes with sauce and package of pickles, is probably one of the best grilled chickens I’ve had, really nice.

Stop by for groceries, a snack or a meal to go, they have it all here! Fantastic little supermarket which has everything you can want or need to hand. Reasonably priced fresh produce and meats of excellent quality. They have excellent bakery for freshly made to order Arabic pies and pastries and wonderful rotisserie chicken meals to go. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Welcome!!

A very welcome addition to local independent shops.This middle Eastern shop is new, very clean and organized, everything is priced and labelled. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, the products range is amazing: sour cherry jam, nougat, freshly grilled olives, a huge meat and merguez counter, delicious fresh figs and a great range of vegetables and fruits. Park free in the main Street, don't be put off with its location near the A 3. I am recommending it to all my friends. Sandra Menant, independent artist.

I was impressed about the amount of products in this shop. Found everything I need and more I discovered new products. They're always opened very practical for late shopping. Also I found the shop very clean and the staff is very nice. I tried some pastries freshly made and it was delicious I tried the cheese and meat fatayer.

Great roast chicken and they gave me free extra garlic sauce. Good selection of food and it’s great that this shop closes late it makes shopping flexible. It’s only a 5 minute walk from where I live and I hope this place stays
