Reviews of Loon Fung Stratford
R. G.
Loon Fung offers a pretty overwhelming selection of fresh, dried, chilled, and frozen oriental food in a relatively small space. Whether you are looking for fresh enoki mushrooms, chicken feet, pig’s trotter, kimchi, instant noodles, or green tea ice cream, they have it all.
Having read past reviews, I see that some people find it pricey but considering that majority of the stuff is imported, I find the prices very reasonable.
The staff is generally very helpful and polite, though some of them need to work on their English, and (in some rare cases) to show a little bit more enthusiasm when asked about stock availability or any other help.
RECOMMENDED!

I love Chinese culture , traditions and cusine so I had to check this market out . Since its opening few years ago a lot of things have had upgraded here, making the shopping experience so much better . This year I noticed they decignated little area for traditional Chinese art connected with new year celebrations and it is really welcome addition . Store has also some good produce and you can find here almost everything to prepare at home your favourite Chinese dish. If you are worried about safety during pandemic don't be , they take safety measures seriously so before you enter , you can use the scanner to measure your temperature and also , customers are required to wear face coverings. I'm always happy to spend my time here especially that I love the choice of Chinese tea assortment. I cannot give less than 5 stars

I am always happy to shop in Loon Fung Stratford. Many of the items are also eaten by Africans.
I learnt never to ask for help in there anymore.
Every time I asked for help, the staff were so unwilling to help. Then they would carry on talking amongst themselves as if you don't exist. Also, they'd rather speak to customers speaking their language. I don't know if it just plain rudeness or racism.

Nice selection of items to buy and some at a good price! Would give 5 stars except for the fact i asked an employee if they had panko breadcrumbs for making katsu and he just shrugged and said "i dont know" and went back to what he was doing...

They have nice Chinese food at a reasonable price. Cant complain. I buy Chinese noodles a packet of 5 cost me £3.65. They also have nice pork belly at a reasonable price. Lots of fresh fruits, fresh fish. Not bad for the price.

You walk into Loon Fung and are hit with the smells of all of the produce which is utterly outstanding.
You are greeted by friendly staff who are always willing to help and answer any questions you may have.
I go by the mantle of if you see lots of people from their own culture going into this shop then it's well worth visiting yourself.
All in all one of the BEST shops if you need anything Chinese.

Update ~ 2021
We were around the area and decided to pop in to check if anything has changed and it's pretty much the same with a new new editions here and there.
Getting here, Stratford (Docklands Light Railways/Central/Jubilee/Overground/TfL Rail/c2c/greateranglia) is most preferred and you're spoilt for choice. You could also get off at Stratford Bus Station which caters to many buses.
I've known about this place for a while but didn't get the chance to pop in to check it out.
Firstly, it's slightly on the smaller side but it does surely pack it was enough goods. It doesn't have everything but it's fine.
Service was great, helpful and the location is nicely placed too.
Recommended.

Great selection of Chinese and other Oriental products - everything from fresh vegetables to packaged foods and preparation items. Regularly stocked by very efficient staff members.
