Reviews of Oseyo Waterloo
J. A. A. P.
Great selection of Korean and Japanese goodies. Prices slightly higher than usual but understandable based on location.
Japanese soufflé style cheese cake is exceptional and is a must when visiting !
W. S.
A nice selection of Korean goods. Smaller than the Oseyo in Chinatown but still a great place to pick up some hot bus, Korean food and Dragonball z cans!!!
v. s.
Maybe because I went to Oseyo near Euston's station, Waterloo's branch seemed small to me. I was still able to get most of the items and Little moons mochis were a bonus.
P. S.
Handy for picking up Korean ingredients with a good choice of products. Well designed, laid out and clean.
A. M.
The best place to buy oriental groceries. They have the best value for money among all other oriental shops I went in London. Bought 4 firm tofu for just £0.60 😮
E. R.
Nice looking Korean deli with a good little selection of snacks, drinks, and other bits of groceries. Good seating area as well, and reasonably priced for the area. Sadly the food isn’t very good; lots of stuff in luminous orange sauce and soggy things that should be crisp. Service is also not particularly quick or friendly. Style over substance I think.
A. N.
This particular store is ok compared to the large shops as it only has a small selection of products and produce. Its good to have it though as you can get a few specialist items and decent selection of instant noodles and kimchi. As you can see I like to use bul nak ramen and make my own creations.
y.
This little shop was fun to look around, they didn't have a huge range of snacks but it does the best it can, whilst working within a small space (compared to all the other oseyo shops in London). They have a fantastic drinks section, which I would recommend purchasing one (or more!) to try out!
If you're looking for a bit of kpop merch, look around to see if they have anything of your fancy! :)
R. P.
Prices are quite reasonable for imported asian foodstuff, Interesting selection. They do hot food which looked very delicious and is priced as normal takeaway lunch. Steamed pork buns are giant and absolutely fantastic for just £2.20, definitely recommend.
J. M.
Clean and quite spacious. Supermarket section has a variety of fresh, chilled and long-life products.
Take away food seemed ok, the buns are reasonable value for money, but the larger bun is more bread and not much filling.
Tried the bubble tea (Taro) flavour, quite pleasant but don't see what the fuss (or cost) is, I don't think there were any "bubbles" in mine, just milk and ice.
P. K.
I don't know about the quality and price of the "supermarket" products, but the hot food is definitely of cheap "fast food" quality. The chicken in my Hot & Spicy chicken had no texture at all, but it was tasty enough, and filling. (Similar quality to "Panda Express" in the USA).
M.
I always visited when studying at uni. Love the selection of kpop merch and cute things you can buy ^^
V. L.
There is very limited options in terms of food but it has a nice atmosphere and the options were great. The staff is very nice and friendly. The Kpop section is also very limited. Their hot food is generous and delicious. The only thing is you have to consume all the liquid somehow as you can’t throw that away.
n. j.
I visited Oseyo Eats today, nice little shop/restaurant. I ordered some food, seems like the chicken options were either sweet chilli or sweet and sour. I'm not a big fan of sweet food so it wasn't great for me, also I asked for a small portion and end up with a a large one. The chicken was too hard with very little sauce for the rice,(they do offer brown rice). I wish they explained how it work! After seeing people pick up pot noodles where they would add hot water, I realise that this was an option I was unaware of. I had a bubble tea, it was really yummy(taro milk tea), a bit too sweet for my liking with nice and chewy tapioca pearl. The tea comes with a fruit mochi which is a nice touch.
M. L.
Decent convenient store for Korean products. If you ask staff for where items are they are helpful even though they don't readily engage.
F. J.
I mostly come here for the snacks and groceries. There's a decent selection of Korean and other Asian foods and beverages. The cinnamon tea is really good as well as the seaweed snacks. As for the hot food, I enjoyed the bi bim bap but was disappointed by the vegetarian Ramen as I expected beter quality for the price.
O. R.
Surprisingly cheap. They have nice asian food that you can't find in the typical grocery stores
S. W.
Super delicious food however the menu has been shrunk down a little. Super spicy delicious tteokbokki, and a decent selection of fresh bao. Lots of choice for the pantry as well for such a small store, and not too unreasonably priced considering most of the stock is imported! Buy from them very frequently. :)
G. P.
What a cool shop! It's pretty rare I can get excited about fizzy pop, but I went bananas in here! There are so many cool and unusual flavours, and the can artwork is sublime. Naturally, ended up buying more than I could carry! Would've picked up a bao bun or two as well, but we were on our way to lunch elsewhere. A really cool place, well worth a visit.
S. L.
Very nice fast food with real Korean flavours nicely tuned to be better suited for western taste. I've spent many months in Seoul and I liked this better than the average you get in Seoul. Enough heat, too -- gave me real sweats just the way I like! 😁 Big portions, affordable prices and a very helpful service, I was even offered tastings when I was trying to choose what to take! A must-try for all!
F. P.
Nice and hot.
Update:
You can find all nice unique stuff
M. S.
It's good for a quick bite, with a small selection of hot food available. Sweet and chilli prawns were a bit too spicy for me so did not finish it. Pork and mustard bun was interesting but the filling was too dry for me.
There is also a selection of grocery items to buy, some sweets, noodles etc. Quite reasonably priced but do not expect a huge choice.
g.
Got the bulgogi udon and traditional kimbap.
The udon was not so savoury? I’m not sure how i feel about it.
But the kimbap was super yummy. Traditional indeed.
They also had a few assortments of snacks, noodles and drinks - which was great because i was craving some of those spicy noodles 🤤
The service was great too!!
Went back and tried their tteokbokki!
G. G.
Perfect easy shopping for Korean foods
S. Y.
The food here tastes great. The price is reasonable. You can also buy a variety of Korean food products. If you want to taste the colorful food, visit here. It's a success in Korea too! It's better to put oil on the meat menu.
S. P.
Good atmosphere, reasonable selection of items to buy. Cashiers were very nice and smiley 👍👍 Loved the fact that I could take away ddukbokki and fried set on the train journey from Waterloo, almost feels like home in Korea. Just missing sundae from what would be my perfect set of 'train journey meal'.
J. B.
As long as you're not expecting your bibimbap to come in a hot stone bowl, you won't be disappointed. Excellent selection of Korean soft drinks, snacks and sweets as well as a number of hot and cold dishes. Portions are good and the dishes that I've tried have all been good. Recommended.
S. B.
Amazing yummy food, and the shop in the eating place is a wonderful way to buy something to your home
E. B.
Most of the food here is okay, some of it is fairly authentic even. However some of the food is so old and sad (I'm looking at you Japchae and Chicken Teriyaki) that I would have been horrified/embarrassed to serve it to a customer. On the bright side, the store has a decent selection of Korean essential groceries if you need it.
J. B.
Really lovely quality Korean food here and the small fried snacks are really reasonable. One of the cheapest lunch snacks you'll find in Waterloo and right by the station. They even sell Korean ingredients and bubble tea for anyone interested in those
J. T.
Lovely atmosphere whit the K-pop music, the staff are very kind and attentive to your order with resealable priced.
Would reccomend if you're looking for a delicious Korean experience! The manager was there and came over for a chat and make you feel at home.
U. G.
Great Korean supermarket. Plenty of Korean and other Asian ingredients, frozen foods and hot meals.
They also sell some houseware, like plates and chopsticks, as well as some Korean stationery items.
D. K. G.
For a takeaway type place the food was actually not bad, in fact it was good. I went at lunch and it was busy, so much so that it did take a while to get served, so they could do with a few more tills. Amongst other things, I bought some kimchi which was slightly pricey, but I don't think you will find it cheaper anywhere central. bulgogui bibimbab was good, I liked the packaging, but they need to figure out how to add a fried egg, you have to have an egg in bibimbab please!
C.
Small Korean fast food just like Wasabi, but they sell other snacks, kimchi, etc. Would be great if they had a bit better ventilation and greater varieties of Korean fast/street food like spicy tteok, jjajangmyeon, bindaetteok.
A. M.
Would recommend this lovely Korean fast food with vegetarian, vegan options, and bubble tea. They have a shop as well with countless asian items. The staff is helpful and friendly. Definitely will come back.
P. G.
Korean fast food. Not particularly memorable, wasn’t very fresh when we visited at 3pm (might be more fresh at the lunchtime peak). Inexpensive, not bad. Do you know the Wasabi chain? This is a kind of Korean version.
J. F.
A canteen style Korean Restaurant. The food is lovely and portion sizes are good for the price considering the central London location.
I normally choose Udon noodle soup which is made to order, but there are various options that are available at the counter and ready to go.
There is also a Korean Grocery in the shop which stocks items like Korean sushi, tofu, crisps and one pot noodles.
Worth checking out if you like asian food.
J. J.
I visited Oseyo Eats a couple of times while I was visiting London and found it was a great store to pickup Asian snacks that I'd heard about but hadn't had a chance to try.
The person behind the counter was really helpful in answering my questions about the company, including when they may open more stores (they only have locations in London and Manchester) and where to get snacks when I'm outside of the city. Highly recommend it to broaden your foodie horizons.
A. F.
This is a small Korean market that also serves food. Prices were pretty good for food and the grocery items.
I really enjoyed the kimbab and this is one of the few places I went to that had it. Portions are quite generous. Would recommend going.
C. C.
I did not expect too much from a fast food Korean place, but Oseyo's food surprised me. I had the special ramen dish, which in a nutshell was plentiful, balanced and great value. There was a mix of veg, spring rolls, egg and bulgogi meat. Did not taste like an instant noodle dish like I have had in other places I have been to. Would definitely come back now that I have found this place near the train station I use in a regular basis!
j. c.
It's great to find a truly Korean place. My girlfriend is from Korea and we often struggle to find decent Korean, even in London. Yes it's just fast food and a bit "westernised" but conpared to Korean owned and more popular Wasabi this is much better. They have the H Mart integrated which meant we could shop for some of our Korean favourites that we can't find elsewhere and they had K-Pop playing which we enjoyed. We could escape the UK into a small glimpse of Seoul again even if very mildly. The food wasn't as 'fresh' as I would have liked but for what it is, we enjoyed it.
S. H. J.
Having spent more than a decade living and working in South Korea, the visit was a pleasure. Only wish the menu would have some more popular dishes such 탕수육 or 양념통닭. Also, where's the typical korean wooden chopsticks we normally get?? 😉
P. H.
Nice place with a good selection of different Korean foods, both hot and cold. You can get some Korean convenience snacks too. I'd recommend the steamed buns if you're looking to grab something to take away. Perhaps a little bit pricey here and there, but no more so than Pret next door (and I'd definitely favour this over pret).
A. G.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Good tasting korean food and lovely atmosphere! Love the fact that kpop music is played in the store. What more can I say?! Would definitely be coming here often!
O. K.
Half the store sells Korean snacks and drinks while the other half is a simple Korean fast food restaurant. Not too bad but nothing to shout about either. Found the bulgogi a bit too sweet while the kimbap was a little plain.
A. M.
Ate here tonight. Throught we'd give it a try as we usually eat at a Korean restaurant round the corner. It was ok. I wouldnt rush back to it. Fast Asian food, a bit like Wasabi. I wouldn't consider it too health as most of the chicken was battered and fried
I guess the main draw is the supermarket. You can get a lot of Korea supermarket foods here and a few novelty items
C. d. C.
Simple, consiced menu. Brilliant ramen and rice cup options. Well priced for central London. There's also an asian food/ ingredients shopping section, so bought what looked like an authentic soy sauce. All in all simple but brilliant food!
Con- No amex. Feedback to management - Please get Amex paying option!
S. J.
Not a bad takeaway vege Bibimbap. Very big portion and great brown rice. Could be made so much better with the addition of a fried egg and some more sauce.
V.
The chicken katsu is possibly the best I've tried ever, and much cheaper than any local restaurant. The portion sizes are very generous too and the shop itself is fair-sized with decent seating.
J. R.
This is a nice busy Korean shop and fast food. Popped in here on the off chance on Monday for lunch time and got seated straight away.Quick service, polite staff and lovely beef bulgogi whit rice.........taro bubble tea absolutely scrummy Good value for money and will definitely go back again.
M. M.
A new Korean restaurant with a similar concept to pret a manger and wasabi. Many good options of hot and chilled food to choose from. There are also ambient Korean options to choose from too. Good location, as it's just across from the Old Vic and next to Waterloo mainline train station. It's busy at lunch times.
S.
Addicted to this place. It's beats Wasabi hands down and why you may ask. Soley for the reason here at Oseyo they're consistent with their portion sizes, you actually get more and it's about £2.25 cheaper as a general rule of thumb. Staf are friendly and you don't come out smelling of cooking should you choose to eat in unlike the other establishments. You also have the option to mix and match at no extra cost so if you're someone that isn't sure on a dish or just can't decided go half and half here it's not a problem.
R. Y.
I don’t understand why this store only opens at 11am while every other fast food chains and supermarkets nearby open early in the morning. Missing out on the potentially very good business during morning rush hours is a loss to you and a loss to me as a customer. It would be great when you decide to open a bit earlier in the day and perhaps serve simple breakfast.
E. B.
Amazing to see so many Korean stores popping up around London! This one is an eatery and supermarket. Not the sort of place you would linger, we popped in for a quick bite before the theatre.
D. T.
Good food at good prices. I wouldn’t go here for all my Korean grocery needs.
The staff are friendly and provide excellent service!
K. M.
Good selection. Friendly staff. Bun was ok.
J. M.
Great Authentic Korean food
K. H. J.
Ramen was too salty for me and it was way overpriced. Even thou they add beansprout and some extra veg there, ramen itself is retailed at 60-70pence in super market meaning their importing price is even cheaper.
A. D.
The shop assistants are very nice and I like the products, I try to taste new food and drinks every week, this shop has plenty of options.
K. K.
I go to the shop in Camden and they have great freshly made food they always put discount on, so you can buy toppoki and sweet and chilli chicken for like £1.60 which is absolutely amazing. Actually now that I'm thinking about it... I'm gonna buy some.
J.
Cheap and cheerful Korean fast food. Tasty and reasonable price. Big bowl does two nearly
A.
Absolutely amazing place and they offer huge portions. For £6.50 no other place offers you top quality chicken katsu curry with rice.
A. W.
Love this shop!! Really nice selection of food products to cook at home, with the sit in/takeaway option to eat in there cafeteria area in store as well, definitely worth popping to check out.
N. M.
Great tasting food. Good selection of Vegan options. Fantastic customer services, especially by a friendly and helpful member of staff named Carson!
M.
Lovely staff and they have the small bag of kimchi that I like.
E. S.
Had the Bibimbap and wasn't expecting much but it was really great and I'm super glad to have discovered this shop! New go to on my commute home for those night I just don't feel like cooking!
A. D.
The spicy tofu was good, just not very spicy! Nice selection of Korean stuff and fast service.
B. l.
A Korean canteen style with a mini supermarket for your Korean snack needs.
Staff are super friendly and prices reasonable, good to come here for a quick eat and dash.
F. P.
Love the gyoza....freezer staple.
J. S. (.
well organised and various Korean foods you can find
I. S.
I had the sour chicken with white rice. The reason of giving 3 stars is because of the chicken. The rice was pretty good, but most of the chicken pieces were either dry or not well cooked (almost raw) and cold.
C. P.
good value tasty food - generous portions. Tables to eat in. Relentless K-pop on wide-screen TV!
S. T.
I drive pass this place all the time and have been meaning to try it out. Located in Waterloo, it's the nearest Korean place to me, serving canteen style food and where I can pick up yummy snacks. Food was a bit disappointing, but it's a cheap and cheerful place to hang out offering free WiFi.
Wheelchair access ✔️ Step free entrance and accessible tables. Not sure about toilets though.
R. L.
Good spot for lunch if you're craving some Korean food in the area! They also sell a bunch of snacks and drinks which is great
K. K.
I was very surprised to find this place out of the blue after living in the area for 3 years, as for a first visit i am very taken back by how good the selection in grocieries and good food that they supply, to top it all off the service was on point and they made sure i knew everything i needed down to every little detail.
I shall be returning for sure!!
E. K.
Visited during lunch time. I Love taste of spicy pork. It really was tasty for me.
Dukbboki was well seasoned but overcooked and was smaller than other dish we have ordered.
Overall satisfied and will visit again.
L. N.
Very busy place, lovely atmosphere. I'm a regular customer, I love vegan kimbap and vegetarian noodles. Staff friendly and very kind
J. S.
Nice Korean shop. Not that big compared to other branches but has all essentials.
L. E.
You can have a coffee and a chat or hot food if you prefer. They also sell Korean food and snacks for you to take home.
Z. C.
Loved it there. Everything was affordable. I happened to discover this place by accident and was looking for another place to eat since Marie’s cafe (just further down and also affrodable) only accepted cash.
A. O.
Amazing quality and service and they have affordable prices friendly and have really nice things I only went to check it out but I ended up buying things deffo recommend for people interested in the k world but I general to to try new things
J. H.
great food, only annoying thing hence 3 stars is quite a few times Between 8 to 8.30pm gone in to have some hot food and to be greeted by no more hot food sorry but you remain open until 9.30, rather have your food than wasabi upstairs in Waterloo as you have a different variety of meats than chicken dishes that wasabi have
J. C.
This beaut is the the special udon raman. The ingredients used are fresh and of a great quality. The beef....... tender and flavorful af! If you like Korean food and K-pop, pay this place a visit.
V. M.
Love Korean foods
C.
Above average instant noodles. Extra star because the thinly sliced beef was of high quality.
R. R.
Great little place to eat, seating limited but the small shop inside the restaurant is really nice and the food was really nice with quite large portions
S. D.
Really tasty food large portion is most definitely large. Great mix and match option with food.
H. E.
Love Korean food so this was great. The food was authentic and well priced.
Y. S.
The staff were very helpful but the food was okay-ish. The price for food and confectionery are affordable. A suggestion... change the recipe of the food
A. H.
Lovely service. Katsu was so more-ish, steamed buns were very delicious too! Recommend ☺️
C. C.
Simple food with slow service and not great pricing. Definitely exploiting their location for something quicker to eat than other options nearby
C. L.
You can choose to have the hot food with brown rice which is helpful when trying to convince yourself that battered chicken in chilli syrup isn't all that unhealthy.
S. K.
Serves excellent Korean foods at a moderate price. Can't believe this place only gets 4.0 :-)
H. R.
Great food. Definitely worth a visit for a quick lunch. Good use of space for retail items too.
G.
Good place good
Staff, but I was a bit annoyed with my drink, the amount of tapioca pearl is very small compared to others bubble tea shop... too bad.
T. H.
Good customer service, friendly staff, nice tasty food with resonable prices, i love Korean food and my favourite is chicken katsu👍
K. F.
Great Korean supermarket and restaurant. I shop here for groceries but can't eat here as there is no vegan option
D. A.
My favourite place to eat Korean food in London. In Paris I don't find like this. Gamsamida
D.
You can watch all your favourite KPOP groups like GOT7! 😊
W. G.
Good variety of grocery items, and the fresh food is always good, and is reasonably priced for the Waterloo area.
G. M.
Kinda like a Korean wasabi, with a great supermarket for Korean and other oriental food stuffs. Excellent choice for lunch on the go.
D. N.
It was so interesting and fantastic! I recommend the Korean special ramen. It's spicy but yammy.
W. Y.
Super good value for money and amazingly tasty hot food. I wish all the Oseyos in London had a kitchen. :-)
C. D.
Nice and clean place, very friendly staff and speedy service. We definitely come back to try the vegetarian options

Convenient healthy food - nice Korean fast food outlet with decent selection at a reasonable price.
A. N.
Hot meals are not great. I only liked it as the have good frozen fishballs and drinks
A. C.
Had the cold chewy spicy noodles and they were exactly what i wanted! The staff were indifferent which is better than rude haha
H. E.
They have small range of hot food. Food is not really good. It is actually kind of place for students.
W. O.
Food is good, love the fact you have the option to choose brown rice.

(Translated) Ramen is actually a spicy udon noodles with meat on it. Tteokbokki is very sweet but still delicious. Leaving the details, I think it will be meaningful to eat Korean food for a long time.

(Translated) It's a good place to buy some simple groceries at downtown Waterloo Station .. but not many kinds. The staff's customer service seems to need improvement.
(Original)
