Reviews of Panzer's Delicatessen

A place that really needs no introduction. Panzer's has been around a long time and for good reason. Besides all the fresh produce available, there is a huge selection of kitchen staples (the pasta selection is fantastic). The bagels are amongst some of the best in London!

A Sunday well spent! Bagel, panini, or sandwich, this place knows how to do it right! Choose from the menu or customise your own, the ingredients are of top quality and everything is made with care! If you also want to leave with a little piece of America with you, make sure to explore the aisles!

Wow, what a fabulous deli, they have so many lovely things to try and buy. The organic fruit and veg looks so colourful, the bagels, the fresh bread and all those lovely pasta sauces. You can even buy flowers and sit down for a coffee and a bite to eat. I think this is the best deli I've seen in London, its amazing so please pop in if you are passing to browse. I was exploring St John's Wood for my blog so took quite a few pictures which I will share with you - warning, these will make you hungry!!!

Fantastic delicatessen bang in the middle of St Johns wood. Bought salt beef and chicken schnitzel sandwiches plus some prawn popcorn, everything was carefully prepped and tasted fantastic. They pay Florence esque attention to detail and the counters look great. An absolute treat for the food fanatic👌🏻. 5*

Really cute shop, some nice products which are trickier to find in London. Had a takeaway hot chocolate which was delicious and came in a gorgeous cup.

The quality of the fruit is class A. Unbelievable. I’ve never seen quality like this before in the United Kingdom. This is the sort of quality that we see in mainland Europe, the kind of quality that we envy. I am extremely impressed.
In particular I would like to say Roberto is very kind, very professional, and is an asset to Panzers.

Grocery shopping with a soul. I can't get enough of their salmon bagels with cream cheese! There is everything you could wish for provided your salary is in line with the neighbourhood: Tasteful bouquets of flowers and a great display of seasonal fruits and veg outside, good deli + Japanese counters, wonderful bread, cheese, pasta, and fresh coffee and cakes. Note it is harder to move around at peak times. Unexpected, but great tunes to shop to (who does the playlist?) and a team of efficient and friendly cashiers to finish on a high note!

Nice range of fruit and veg and they have all sort of interesting things that I’ve never really seen anywhere else, although maybe because they’re just higher price, premium products. Some of the prices are crazy. I think I saw what seemed to be a regular sized chocolate bar for sale at £9

Panzers is hands down the best fruit shop in London ever!

Café: lovely food, reasonably priced, awkward seating arrangement with eat in and take away having to stand in the same queue!
Pantry: great range of products, and all good quality

I’d like to give 3.5 stars but that’s not an option so I’m rounding up but it could go either way.
Panzer’s Deli has changed a lot over the years. They renovated and created outdoor seating, a few indoor seats and the biggest change is a sushi bar. It’s very popular and there are about four squeezed in stools so it’s not easy to eat next to someone as you’ll be elbowing each other while using chopsticks. They have some already made sushi in the deli fridge but you can always have them make it fresh. You tell them what you want, they create a ticket with price for you to give to the cashier in the back, you pay then hand over your receipt to get your food. Not the most efficient way of doing things as some sushi chefs forget to get the receipt and hand over the food.
The rest of the deli area has some typical NY Jewish deli food like chopped liver, smoked salmon, cream cheese, sour pickles, and freshly baked bagels. There are also other deli items that were popular like focaccia.
Around the back cash register they serve coffee. The area is very tight and crowded so it’s not easy to get around.
The rest of the store is small and aisles are tight but they did a great job packing in as much as possible. They have some imported American treats like cake mixes, cereal, Goldfish crackers and a few candy items. Cereal is very overpriced and the Tootsie rolls were stale so I’m not sure if the American expat community now is as big as it once was.
I wasn’t a fan of the bagel I had but they have a lot of them. They also have fresh rye and sourdough bread as well as baguettes and other types of bread. Not the most sanitary as I did not see one person use tongs.
I loved the blueberries I got at Panzer’s but they did not list a country of origin. The smoked salmon was amazing and is sliced for Panzer’s. This is a specialty grocer so not the right place for regular food shopping but great for certain items. Just be prepared for high prices.

Freshly made sushi was a real treat after shopping around. We sat at the sushi bar the chefs made us plates of special rolls and nigiri. The Butter fish and Fatty tuna nigiri was delicious, seared by the chef and served one at a time. We will definitely be back to Panzer's soon!

Superb breakfast hamper. First class ingredients which were packed in a beautiful presentation box. Simply the best I've ever had.
Fantastic service.

I went to panzers eating area today at around 3pm and I have to say, this young tall gentleman made my day. His energetic and kind character put a smile on my face and made feel very welcomed at panzers. The food was also great and the salt beef sandwich is my recommendation. Would recommend, can't wait to go back and if you need a cheering up then this is the place for you.

Lovely neighborhood grocers where you can find specialty produce - from exotic fruits and vegetables to American candies. They've recently renovated and expanded the place - there's now even a sushi counter/deli/bakery and florist in the store. Items are reasonably priced, although slightly more expensive than items in a regular supermarket.

Huge choice of food and selection on different veggies and fruits from different countries. I love it.

Beautiful store with loads of choice be it fruit, vegetables, raw juice to body products.Who does not like fresh bouquets of flowers and freshly brewed coffee. Everyday essentials no larder could be without.

New Ecume de Wimereux a l'Ail des Ours.
It's a plant that gets to maturity during winter, giving a spring taste, less spicy than garlic

As a Greek it's very convenient to find so many Greek products available just around the corner of your house.
Fruits are of high quality.
Friendly staff, always managing requests and making sure there are no waiting lines in the tills.
Would give it a 5 star if the prices in some of the products (especially fruits) were more reasonable.!
Nevertheless I visit every day.

Great deli, I was chuffed to find Lithuanian cake there as well. Napoleon and honey cake. Bought some lovely jams. Will keep visiting for some good quality foods. Friendly service as well at the cash desk. Keep the great work!

Always best quality groceries. Their cafe is amazing as well, make sure to try fresh bagels. Lots of Jewish and Eastern European food choices.
M. H.
This is a very good deli and a supermarket in St John's Wood. Lots of specialist food, with a very good Jewish section and prepared food. Prices are on the higher side. The service is excellent and you can eat in too.

Visiting Panzer is always a great occasion. The quality and variety of food available is without paragon. Amazing the diversification to cafe/deli from only be a delicatessen. My only complain is that the prices are stratospheric. A mini Harold's experience with the same overpricing

Cant get enough of Panzer, great customer service and unique product choice! High end pricing but just love the atmosphere.. wish I could shop there for grocery everyday ! :) also fyi, they got an amazing range of ecological cleaning products, really appreciate it.

Deli paradise…I was happily surprised to find specialities from many countries. Also tables to have breakfast or lunch in a joyful atmosphere.

Great for different foods across the globe ,but sadly stopped doing German specialities!

An eclectic kosher and non kosher deli that has much improved since being renovated a few years ago. Prices are high though (much more so than Kosher Kingdom for instance) and some standard items can be twice the price of identical items in your local Tesco. But they now have a nice terrace for coffee and cakes and offer a wide range of "continental" products.

Really nice but 'posh' kosher deli (as a friend put it)!! Famous for its bagels - or so time out said but not entirely sure why having tried them and a few others. It's really not bad and there is a full selection which have been baked daily. There's also a sandwich stall outside.
What I would say is fantastic is the choice of other goods - especially fresh foods, fish /sushi and meats (there is a cold meats section if yo yare into that sort of thing both kosher and halal!). The fresh produce is sublime if a little expensive. Not much different to other sort of delis (upmarket) so perhaps not quite worth the drive I did to go there. Having said that if I was in the area again I would go...though whist there is still social distancing...there usually quite a wait to get in so bring a good book!! ;-)

Amazing vegetable sushi platter.... Thank you so much. The ingredients were so fresh and it was presented beautifully! We will definitely be back! The portions were very generous and the picked ginger and wasabi were amazing.

I feel so lucky to live down the road from this awesome deli. Such a great range of fresh produce, great coffee and the sushi looks amazing, if a little over my budget. Staff always friendly too. If I had one criticism its the other customers..Big respect to the staff they must deal with a lot of rude and demanding customers because every time I go in I seem to get stuck behind one. If you've not been here, then visit as soon as you can and enjoy a coffee in their outside seating area. Thanks Panzers!

Huge choice of food and selection on different veggies and fruits from different countries. I love it.

The ultimate deli for sushi, bagels, bagels, bagels, multiple varieties of own-smoked salmon, cold food / hot food, vegetables [quite pricey], pasta, cakes, american brands, all sorts of tasty treats. We love Panzer’s. Seen as a weekend treat!!!! Highly recommended. Staff are lovely, very helpful and courteous on the whole.

It's an excellent deli to have a look around but the prices are eye watering. For some things, like fruit and veg, this is justified. The selection and quality is some of the best I've seen. Other things are definitely overpriced. I was a little let down by the selection at the deli counter too.
S. P.
Lovely little deli, nice selection in the small cafe and very friendly and helpful staff.

Bought flowers for my partner, staff were lovely very friendly, but typical central London prices,£50 for what would have been about a £15 bouquet in waitrose. As they say, it is what it is. I needed a bouquet urgently, so bit the bullet, but I won't mince my words, their prices are a piss take.

My local deli; on the expensive side, but quality produce and great customer service.

Thank you. I ordered a breakfast box for my mum. It arrived on time and beautifully packed. It was a real hit. She loved the Granola and there is plenty for a few more breakfasts. I will be ordering again

Top quality deli, grocer, greengrocer, and general store. The staff are without exception charming. Excellent sushi made freshly on the premises, also smoked salmon, salt beef, fresh bakery, international foods, coffee shop etc. It is a sort of miniature Harrods or Fortnum & Mason food hall, only lacking the fish and butchery counters. Some kosher produce. Not the cheapest but excellent value. It has been going for 70 years, and also delivers to order.
A. A.
Excellent selection of rare fruits and veg and a really well stocked deli. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but in line with other posh London neighbourhoods. Their coffee is amazing, but the breakfast items felt a bit meh. Looking forward to trying the sushi deli next time.
s.
Well stocked with the most popular goods from US, France, Israel, Italy. Price is reasonable and they have a cafe on the side with extremely friendly Baristas. The cashiers are always smiling and they work quickly. There are several tables outside where you can people watch this great area of London

An old institution with new flame. It is screaming at you with quality, dedication and freshness. Go for coffee or bagel or flowers.
M. E.
Great market. Products variety are so rich also able to find international products are fresh and authentic; such as bagels, smoke salmon thin and not over smoky, new green cucumbers are yummy.
M. W.
I go there a lot. They have the best chocolate & apple cinnamon babka in town. I like their guacamole from the deli and the sushi. High quality goods, which reflect the high prices.
However, there are a few basic items which are priced ridiculously high - Avocados, packaged granola, dairy & fruits. I would obtain these elsewhere.

I was here for coffee and cake and the carrot cake was absolutely delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They gave my daughter 2 slices of cake because they had cut it on the slightly small side, we wouldn't have noticed the difference. So that was nice. The deli is extremely well stocked and it was very busy with shoppers.
A. K.
Perfect little deli shop from great coffee to freshly made sushi. Excellent selection of international food.

Amazing food. We pre-ordered the picnic bag. Really lovely food (and loads of it too. Well worth the money.

Very tasty food, can't pass by without popping in)

Ridiculously expensive...french and Italian delicatessens serve the same products 40% less

An amazing beautiful shop with the olde cared for and looked after food and food presentation culture of continental Europe. An amazing spread of beautiful high quality upmarket food. Very expensive though, but they fully reserve and love up to the high end of the market claim their look and displays make. Lovely ample kosher range as well.
