Reviews of SPAR - Walthamstow

Selection is fun, but so inconsistent. Also tickets are quite often misplaced or missing, and specials rarely register at the till and have to be requested - easily missed.
Keep coming back, but often leave feeling disappointed 😂

I like this shop and go for certain bits and bobs. It has a good selection of unique and local products. A bit pricey but it is what it is for the location and clientele. One bit of advice, always check the prices at the till or get a receipt - on numerous occasions now I have been overcharged or the ticketed deals do not go through. It gets tedious and makes me want to shop there less.

All my favourite products here.
Excellent selection. Note is a bit pricey because of quality of food, these brands cost a bit more everywhere. If you want good quality and more ethical products this is this place for you.

Great place for fancy goods! However, if you're making your customers pay trough their teeth for produce, cheese and choccy... Please make sure you price ALL OF YOUR STOCK CORRECTLY.

Yes, it's expensive, but hey it's the village.. I would recommend though to get vegetables, breads and wine here. If you don't go crazy on those three mentioned you might get away with a £30 total. You will then have to stand in a q for tills surrounded by £10 sauces and relishes. But just hold on! Keep looking ahead and don't get tempted. Though I have to say that the sauces are good..

I mean, the food is amazing, there is no doubt about this, but please train your staff! Customer service is really poor, when I asked about a product I was looking for and they didn’t know what I was talking about , they actually laughed in my face! Come on , you are a premium retail outlet, I’m sure you can do better with your customer service.

Pleasant shop, has lovely fresh bread and some very good quality products you would not find elsewhere. Some others are just terribly overpriced. So a good place to buy some things, but not the place to do your weekly shopping.

Poshest supermarket I’ve ever seen. Even the dog-food is fancy! Good range of craft beers and independent food brands, but too expensive for a regular shop.

Great selection of good produce, interesting things you wouldn't get anywhere else and a brilliant choice of good wine and local beer

It's part of the Eat17 restaurant next door and has a great range of foodie products. Not cheap so wouldn't do weekly shop here but if you're looking for quality produce it hits the spot. The home brand houmous was delicious as its the bacon chilli jam!

Fantastic selection and quality, with a considerable amount of basics and intriguing options as well. Great bakery!

The Gallery of Expensive Food for the Extravagant and the Reckless.
This is a very nice shop with an interesting and great selection of bread, drinks and cakes, and it is worth a peek of admiration. Then you see the prize tags and realize only the posh or careless do a full shopping session here, as items are either expensive or overpriced (even the discounted ones are still expensive). Thus, it becomes a store you come in and get single items, because cheaper NISA down the road does not sell it, or you can't be fuzzed to go to any other store.
The undeniable great stuff:
* The locally sourced products.
* Cash only on site pizza cooking done in 5 minutes with a good prize and taste.
* You get yesterday's bread for half prize (really nice bread).
* The pastries on the counter are usually half prize.
* You get a stamp every time you have spent above £10, and 4 stamps gets you goodies like the delicious brownies.
* The gallery of expensive food (I wonder if anyone actually bought the tub of almond butter for £20).

This is the nicest Spar I have ever seen in my life. It is like a mini Whole Foods. There is a stand of baked goods from next door neighbours Eat 17, and a wood fire pizza oven place. Basic things are well-priced, and you can also get nicer things like bacon jam and posh pot noodle things. It has a great local feel, and if every Spar was like this the world would be a better place.

People used to tell me about the mythically good Spar in Walthamstow Village and I never believed them. Consider me corrected, because this still smallish supermarket is heaven. Ace pizza bakery in-shop so you can order and takeaway, fresh bread and cakes, amazing craft beer selection and all the middle-class goodies you can eat. Prices seem decent, though, and it's very clean and nice. Top marks.

Nice enough shop, good selection but both staff & store a little affected. Wouldn’t really recommend if they weren’t the only place I know off that stocks my fave hot sauce.

Always come here to buy pastry and bread. Full of small brand choice! The green tea cakes is the best!

A bit overpriced but very flash stuff in here tbf

Nice shop with lots of independent/artisanal products that remind you of Whole Foods. On site pizza cooking, and lots of various cakes, cupcakes, breads, chocolates.
J. L.
Delicious pizzas cooked on-site. Italian ice cream, and a wide choice of very good groceries.
M. G.
Very good bakery, a bit too expensive but good value products.
