Reviews of Spitalfields Market
A. A.
Unique market experience. Loads off different food vendors to choose from, antiques, specialty shops, hand crafted goods. We had Srilanka food for the first time that was delicious..will go back for pics and the name of the food we had.
S. P.
Had some lovely Shakshuka and margarita cocktails at Brother Marcus restaurant ! Right next to the market, great outdoor/ indoor ambience. Some great stalls on the market to peruse. Lots of food places around the market. Very good.
T. 1.
A lovely market full of things to buy and see. There are loads of eating places in there to and there are so many very nice handcrafted things for sale. It’s free to enter too. I definitely would go again next year and I would suggest going too.
J. S.
Spitalfields market is always a good Choice to go and find some inspiration or just for wandering around and see handcrafted things you might wanna buy as presents or spoil yourself. Plenty of restaurants and cafes as well as shops around. Good place to go on Sundays!
A. C.
A nice day out. Has some good food places. But soft drinks are very expensive for a market atmosphere. £3 for a can of coke. Take your own drinks from the shops just outside the market so that the shops bring their prices down.
T.
Always a pleasure visiting the market. Managed to buy a new pair of Dr Martens from a store around the market that I am so happy with! Also found a new plat shop called “flat iron”
K. M.
Designers markets along side of well known brands like Grind Coffee, Lululemon, flying tiger, Jo Malone and many more. The whole market area is well designed urban chic like.
R. R.
Spitalfields Market is very famous for shoppers for art work designer jewellery, handmade clothing and food stalls. It can be very busy during weekends. Its not a place for cheap stuff. If you are looking for cheap and quality clothing you need to visit Petticoat Lane Market on Sundays.
A. H.
Nice place for a quick bite. They have a wide range of Street food options. Some of them are really worth to try. Some of them a not so great.
Remember: longer queue doesn't equal to better food.
N. S.
Unique shopping experience. We had our own country (Sri Lankan food) it was real home feel ,
Loads off different food vendors to choose from, antiques, specialty shops, hand crafted goods.
P. V.
Fabulous place to visit - lots of individual stalls selling products you probably couldn't easily find elsewhere - so quite unique!
But the real bonus is the amazing street food available reflecting our rich cultural diversity.
M. O. G.
This is a wonderful market. Huge variety of lunch stalls. Great shopping for non foods items. I can't wait to go back.
S. P.
Lived it. So many places to go hidden away down side streets. Lots of street art to see and some good places to eat and drink.
M. R.
Brilliant place to spend a few hours. Friday visit loads of record stalls.
J. W.
Great old style market . Lots of fashion and accessories and street food on offer .
A. L.
Amazing selection of stalls and eateries. Definitely a must visit if you're that side of London! Particularly nice with all the Christmas lights up as well.
R. A.
Have always been a great advocate of Spitalfields with the endless shopping and eating opportunities that the iconic East London spot provides.
This year's Christmas display were a feast for the eyes and I can't wait to be back again soon.
S. A.
Nice place for different kinds of shops and small businesses and international food kiosks.
C. M.
It was the first time I'd been to Spitalfields for a while. Bustling, energetic and a lot of "not on the high street" type merchandise on sale.
There is a stall there that sells pottery hand made in Turkey and in Palestine. Exquisitely patterned and highly glazed. I bought two pieces that grace my kitchen. I'll go back to buy more as gifts for other people.
S.
Really nice market, we went on a Saturday afternoon and it was bustling with people. There’s a nice eclectic range of stalls from independent sellers which makes it more appealing, I’m looking forward to trying some of the food stalls next time.
I.
One of the best markets I have been in London! Very new, spacious, a good variety of stalls ranging from different eateries to arts to jewels to clothing to plants…etc. love it! Will be back soon ❤️
N. M.
Spitalfields market is a fantastic place to visit, there are loads of unique stalls selling clothes jewelry, art work and lots more, there is so much lovely street food, you will want to try everything! I love coming here to eat and frequently visit with my children. There is also the vintage Market, I'm not sure if it's part of Spitalfields, but it's very close by. It does get very busy and you will most likely have to stand and eat your street food if you go at the weekend. Most of the market is indoors, which is also a bonus in England!
K. L.
The market was fun to walk around, and very pretty with all the twinkly lights - not sure if they're always there or if it was remaining from Christmas. Stalls were interesting bit expensive. Lots of places to eat and was quite busy, a nice place for a wander.
T. S.
Great place to visit, huge selection of things you didn't know you wanted (but a bit pricey - check out Petticoat Lane just around the corner for another experience). I'll come back and browse the Spitalfields Market again next time I visit London, it was a very fun and interesting trip 🙂
S. H.
It was great place with a lot to see and do.
Shopping and food. What more can you want?
Humble Crumble is amazing. There might be a long wait to order and collect the Crumble but it's worth it. Get the half and half. My only complaint is that I wished the custard was hotter.
A. D.
Very nice atmosphere and a good selection of food stalls
L. M. M.
Lovely market surrounded by bars and restaurants and at the moment lots of statues and sculptures dotted around the place.
H.
Amazing street food and individual stalls selling a wide variety of things, a lot of it handmade
L. C.
What a lovely market, full of character and very good products. Lovely shops, restaurants and cafés. It has a selection of delicious cultural food from different parts of the world. I spent the day here and it was lovely.
T. M.
Nice palce to visit, to have a break for coffee of to walk the dog... Or to play around with kids
R. T.
Amazing eclectic mix of independent stalls, selling tasty treats and beautiful homemade and handcrafted items. Feels a little more relaxed than some of the other markets and felt like more space to mooch around which was nice. A little more 'up market'! Also the communal eating tables seemed to have more availability then elsewhere. We got a mix of food, including Japanese souffle pancakes, burek, crepes, bagels, biscuits and Grind Coffee which has to be the best coffee we had all weekend. Nice clean free facilities aswell which is always important!
f. h.
So many great food options, and all taste amazing! Defo recommend the Dumpling Shack! And nice stalls to buy from, also recommend going on a Thursday for the Vinyl market. Just overall good vibes.
G. A.
Great atmosphere with beautiful hand crafted stalls. They've updated it over the last 5 years or so to a high boutique standard. Highly recommend it and the area surrounding too is great, lots of street art around
C.
Easy to find and clean.
The goods and crafts stalls were great for broadcasting independent artists, but the real draw is the food.
Such a variety of stalls, and most really well priced.
M. O.
The Staff was welcoming and very professional.
Food was super tasty, and very well presented.
I personally had the calamari on a bed of toasted almond cream, garlic oil and feta fries. I've really enjoyed It, definitely going to be back! Just Pay them a visit.. you won't regret it!!
s. g.
Food was pricey but I loved the experience. Its probably a 5 min walk from the Liverpool St Station. I went on a Thursday so it was vintage Market day. Nice to just stroll around even if you don't buy anything. I suggest to either eat early or after 2pm to avoid the lunch crowd coz the nearby office ppl invades the space rather quickly.
J. C.
Beautiful multi food/retail hall. Covered but open air entrances. So much to see and experience - a must visit space.
J. W.
Nice little food stalls and craft beers, nice vegan food and plenty of choices for different foodies.
J. W.
Interesting place. Indoor Market - very well run by the looks of it and the goods looked decent quality. Nice hat stall! Will return when I have more time to look around.
G.
Lovely atmosphere and trendy place. Has lots of places to eat and quirky shops although clothes cost alot more in comparison to petticote Lane market just 5 mins away.
D. N.
Great place to people watch.
A bit expensive for food but some fantastically inovative odds and ends and books at a classic little shop in Spittlefields.
Very interesting but pricey maps on offer as well. Enjoy the promenading as its just full of beautiful and interesting looking people.
R. M.
Wow this has really grown up and is a lovely venue and market. Well layed out and tons to see, buy drink and eat.
A must for those visiting or just looking for a great day or night out.
With lots of transport links, and facilities this is a London city highlight.
N. S.
Visit this market when you don't have any specific plans on an evening. There are some good eating joints, stalls housing clothing, accessories, and art and a lot of planned events. Even if you're not looking to buy anything, it's a nice place to just visit.
J. H.
Always worth going to Spitalfields market. Different food stalls and food trucks for lunch, many shops - for gift shopping (Flying Tiger), Cosmetics (Chanel), Clothes (American Vintage and &other stories). Lots of stalls selling gifts, soaps, clothes. It's a lovely place to walk around and discover.
S. P.
Amazing range of food and stores. Very impressed
S. S.
Very nice and busy market, great atmosphere. But it can get very crowded and to find a place where to seat to eat lunch is a mission. Overall, nice place to spend the day with the family.
A. F.
I love strolling and browsing through the market. Lots of unusual, original and creative items available and good range of places to eat or get a drink. Close to Liverpool Street station and other places of interest.
s. x.
Went to one on the Carribean eateries, cant remember the name but it was two stalls down from the apple crumble stall, which I visited also.
The Carribean place was really good value for money and you do get a good portion of food, I could not finished all my food. The dessert (apple crumble) was also good though I found it too sweet but that is personal preference, my partner loved it.
陈.
A very nice place that you can shop and have food here. There are various of street food you can choose from different countries as well as cloth, decorations, and even more you can shop. The price is not high, and the environment is so lovely. Worth visiting especially in a sunny afternoon and evening with lots of beautiful lights before Christmas!
C. B.
No steps on the ground floor market area, but some of the shops have an internal down step. There's a radar key disabled toilet and all of the ground floor cafes and restaurants are accessible to wheelchair users. I found the food stalls had ridiculously high counters. Some of them are food trucks and I found the menus difficult to see. But &otherstories has a great lift and flat access to the ground floor. Tiger is accessible as is Leon.
Thursday is my favourite day. The stalls that aren't food change daily in one of the halls. Thursday is vintage and second hand. There's clothes, household things, books, jewellery etc etc.
G. T.
Love the hustle and bustle. Always a great market and different most days. The sounds and smells are great. A must location if you are in the area. Also some great eateries within the market. This time we stopped at a Mediterranean restaurant for breakfast, it was lovely and very reasonably priced
J. P.
Very quiet when I visited. Love the brass elephants. Lots of stalls, not too pricey.
C. B.
Nice Market with lots of vintage clothes and handmade jewellery stands. Also a huge selection of food stands offering great selections of different cuisines. Definitely recommend
B. N.
Had a great time playing ping pong on the rooftop, enjoyed some street food aswell. Lovely dirty Bagel and some delicious apple crumble. Good vibes
J. O.
Nice little shops with friendly vendors. Especially worth a visit if you or anyone your visiting with is into vintage clothing. Great couple of take away places as well.
E. E.
A very unique market place where you can find mix of everything... From old antique, vintage to new, modern and contemporary. You have to visit the place to experience the atmosphere it brings
P. S.
Incredible venue that hosts a variety of vendor stalls, from clothes to vintage to antiques to art, and most importantly, FOOD.
A. J.
Probably controversial because it's a product of gentrification with all its pros and cons, but I personally love the fact that the markets are still there and haven't been pulled down like so many old buildings. True, it's not targeted at the people who used to populate the old East End, but the market and surviving buildings in the area have been beautifully restored and shown off to their best advantage for generations to come. Given the choice, I'd rather go East than West these days when I'm in London, even if the neighbouring modern, glass and steel constructions make we feel less comfortable, and as though I'm in the wrong century... Maybe I'm just getting old! 😉
T. S.
Lots of stands with old vinyls, clothes, decor and accessories.
E. A.
A visit to hipster East London is a must. I highly recommend a visit to Spitafields Market, especially on a weekend. The market has stalls selling anything from clothes to records and is covered so that rain is no problem. Additionally, there are food stalls and many cafes, pubs and restaurants in this recently renovated space.
J. O.
Such a range of food and drink, lovely to see all the stores in the market and people enjoying themselves.
J.
Great shopping and such a unique atmosphere! It can be busy and expect to be walking slowly behind others, but it’s all worth it!
Y. S.
Lovely environment with a lot of choice of food. Can get very busy with no seating available.
Lumberjack breakfast at The Diner is really good.
S.
Love this market. Lots of great stallholders without it being too repetitive. Leather goods, hats, jewellery, posters, sunglasses, and loads more! Great little eateries too around the outside and in the food court. Always worth a visit during a stay in London.
C. W.
Fascinating place, plenty of clothes stalls and wonderful little shops, as well as a whole rainbow of eateries, all under cover. So you can wander round any time of year
m. g.
A bit pricey but loads of interesting food and stalls, great for a wander when it's raining and to try something new.. recommend BVRGER vegan burgers, especially the spicy one in a charcoal bun.. yum!
I. B.
Worth a visit... Some great little treasures among the stalls but be prepared for your Wallet to take a hit cos £££££. The sculptures scattering the area help keep the kids amused...
J. S.
Great place to walk about and make of a day out. Plenty of food stalls and handmade item stalls. Dog friendly, was a great to take my dog out for the walk.
C. p.
Love this market. A little of everything. From small local vendors, to some good larger stores. Along with food and drinks, it has everything you want.
L. C.
This is a great market that provides a mixture of quirky, vintage, classy and modern items. There are great bookstalls with film classics, coats, scarves, t-shirt, skincare and many more. This is surrounded by street food venues and other independent stores. This provides a perfect place for shopping and eating. Couples and friends can enjoy an afternoon browsing and seeing what is on offer. Based near the "trendy" part of London it is a place to visit and see what is in fashion.
S. F.
this may be one of my favourite locations in london.
the food market is large which comes with the downside that it is dificult to choose what to eat. it is however great for groups of people who may want different things. the market side is also really ncie whith quite interesting little stalls, although some are a bit too touristy
B. S.
Great atmosphere and wonderful stalls selling loads of different items from art to fashion and great eateries. Love just having a mooch
R. D.
One of my favourite areas of London both for eating and for casual drinks. Both the market itself, which has an excellent selection of food stalls, and the nearby area.
G. M.
Loads of places to eat and drink. As it is covered it is weather proof. A pity that many of the places shut early with last orders around 2130 so not a late late night venue.
I. K.
A nice casual and relaxed place for street food with a good variety of international cuisine, in London. A good experience if you have time with interesting clothes related shopping.
K. B.
I wouldn't travel far to come here, in spite of its reputation. However for locals its a no brainer, plenty of options to shop, eat, even get a haircut. One of the perks of living in shoreditch is walking distance to this market. Busy most days of the week.
R. T.
Great place to see. Loads of food options
J. R.
One of my favourite spots in London. Great market with good food and nice shops. Great for a rainy day. Kids can go running around quite safely.
A. P.
Ended up here doing a 'jack the ripper' tour that was brilliant, it looked stunning the market
J.
Interesting variety of stalls. Very well maintained overall and nice clean atmosphere with some seating. It is extremely busy at lunchtimes and food is quite expensive for what it is so I would recommend it as a tourist attraction but not as a regular visit. Fen noodle had one of the longest queues but I unfortunately wouldn't recommend it as it is far too salty
B. P.
I love Spitalfields Market and the bronze statues around the area are so beautiful.
A. I.
Great place to have a quick and tasty lunch. Highly recommend brioche with pulled pork and cheese!
A. H.
Sited close to Aldgate East Station this indoor Market has lots of places to eat foods from around the world. Stalls were much of the same stuff, jewelry, belts, scarves. However worth a visit.
Z. R.
Delicious food, great vibe, has ever you're looking for.
L. S.
An amazing place to go out and spend a day out. Very unique and different shops to visit and buy from and many restaurants and places to eat to choose from.
m. F.
Great place to visit. Mostly gift ideas but lot's of stalls selling a variaty of things from jewelry to clothing. A must to see are the Elephant sculptures around the Spitalfields square and the Charnal House under the glass Pavement.
E. C.
I always loved this market, was a seller my self years ago, lovely crowd and atmosphere, Spitalfields is covered market often hosting live music inside, also a great food destination :)
S. J. H.
Love it! I go every time I am in London. Great shopping with friendly people. Terrific pulled pork this time as well.
T. C.
Many stalls that sell clothes but the price/quality are not that attractive.
S. A.
Great place to be either for shoping, meeting friends or family or just having fun. In any season it is something to enjoy at Spitalfields Market, from restaurants, coffee shops and delicious street food till amazing boutiques, shops, artisans. Lovely people to meet and talk with.
Highly recommend to visit Spitalfields Market. It has also history - there is little bit for everyone, all types and tastes.
I would say in my opinion that it is a must if visit London.
Very close to train and tube Liverpool Street station as well as buses stops , Aldgate tube station.
J. W.
I love the old spit field market. Full of gems from antiques to modern art pieces. the sellers are so nice. The best place to travel for antique hunting in London.
L. W.
Chilled, cool vibe. Interesting stalls to have a wander round on a sunny Sunday. Food stalls are good - had chicken rice roll from Rice Brother which was amazing!
M. D.
Out of all the markets in London, this is one of my top 3 favs. Spitalfields has a little bit of everything from clothes, books, and art to amazing eats. My personal fav? The steamed buns stall. You won't be disappointed.
J. K.
its had a huge makeover since going years ago but in a fantastic way. the food stalls are amazing and shops even better.
C. K.
Great market, loads to see. Eating places. Very dog friendly. Really recommended for a morning out
M. D. A.
Amazing Street food market. You can find whatever food you like at very good price and quality food. Clean place. I love it 😍💝
N. T.
Loved roaming around this market.
Has lots of interesting and quirky stalls...and loads of interesting international world food stalls..a little on the expensive side but worth exploring. My beef Guasa was delicious 😋
L. A.
Lovely place but but crowded and nowhere near to just sit...
R. W.
The iconic Spitalfields market - lots of artisan goods and varieties of great food. It's a big melting pot. They surprisingly have most of the big cosmetic/ beauty shops here currently with MAC, Bobbi Brown, Nars, Benefit and Space NK. Lots of vintage clothing here too. If you have the freedom of choice with your time - I recommend you visit here during working hours on weekdays as it does get really busy and the crowds can ruin the atmosphere and experience.
J. S.
Great blend of modern and vintage styles. A true retro experience. Prices are also very reasonable for the area.
S.
Nice food stalls!! Should’ve skipped breakfast!
A. A.
Fabulous.
So many things to see and do.
The street food are amazing, so yummy.
I thoroughly recommend it. 😍
A. M.
Good vibe with large range of street food. Lots of stalls selling a wide variety of items. Worth a visit.
M. G.
Excellent place to shop and find a good range of eclectic items. Loads of eating places, with an excellent choice of foods. Hand pulled noodles, Japanese shushi, and Caribbean jerk chicken to name a few. A lovely day out if you're looking to browse or chow down.
R. P. U.
Great place to go and to eat and have a drink and do a bit of shopping.
M. S.
Ridiculously good market for food and everything else! Has so so many food options with a wide range of cuisines and confectionery and deserts. They have a few vegan products too and the prices aren't too bad - around £8-10 for a meal for anywhere. There's also established restaurants around the outside of the market like Leon which allow you sit inside. It's usually really busy during lunch and after work so beware, however there is a lot of room and seating options.
M. M.
Love it. Forget petticoat lane that is dead and buried now, Spitalfields is the new London Market must see. The food stalls are fresh and delicious 😋 the traders are artisan and exciting. Very very good.
J. K.
This is a lovely traditional village pub, dating right back to the 13th century. Big roaring open fires made the place really cosy even though it was freezing outside. The Sunday roast was absolutely first class with friendly and attentive service, and prices are very reasonable too. We'll definitely coming back regularly.
L. G.
Fantastic market! One of the new favourites in London. Has many small stalls of goods as well as food places! Many of the goods stalls are antiques as well, so pricing is sometimes high, but items are rare! Toilets for public use are nice, and plenty of space to have a sit down for food or on the go. Lovely market with plenty to do and see!
M. T. (.
Get the best burger in the world from. Bleeker St
C. N.
Amazing!! I have no photo's I'm afraid as everything was so so good that we completely forgot! Special shout out to the pizza van! Amazing 😊
D. B.
Lots of interesting and varired items for sale. Also had nice free indoor toilets as well.
Well worth a look around.
J. N.
Lovely market with some great stalls. The foodie vans were amazing too.
T. R.
Ever changing array of independent vendors. Some great permanent food & drink places. Funky Cellar is a highlight
A. E. T.
So many gorgeous different stalls available, great for supporting independent artists
N. L.
Went here on a date with my Girl, good food stalls and photo oppurtunities. also Brick Lane Market is around the corner 8 minutes away if you want more photos or cool scenery's to look at.
Best time to come after COVID-19 as it doesnt seem the same without a crowd
S. K.
Went to early 10am. Most stales still setting up. Recommend 12 for lunch, so much variety.
c. h.
Be prepared for crowds no matter when you go. I went specifically to eat at the Dumpling Shack. I LOVE the dumplings and wantons there. There's always a queue but its worth the wait and the ordering system is top notch quick. Afterwards you'll find yourself wandering about digesting, if you don't buy something you must have some secret superpower cause there's so many wonderful things there for all tastes.
But generally, go for the food. Be prepared for large crowds, noise and waiting. Patience is a virtue.
S. T.
I'm happy to have found this place. Its filled with stalls selling local goods, clothing and foods. Great variety. Also has a few sports bar type restaurants. Not very many franchised stores.
I find it a great balance between the other markets that I've come across in London.
S.
Lots of food stalls. Modern and independent jewellary shops. My friend and I bought a pair of earrings each. Lots to see and explore!
M. A.
Plenty of interesting stalls and a good variety of food to eat. Very atmospheric and it was good to be indoors on a cold winter's day.
M. S.
Really cool place but also very confusing. I wish there was some kind of signage - especially considering the stalls mostly stay in the same place… it means it’s totally doable.
Z. B.
Great market for food, clothes, accessories and drinks. Nice chill area on the weekend. Only 10 minutes from Shoreditch and brick lane so loads to do around the area. There's a lot happening in the middle bit of the market. Last weekend there was a Street Eats Festival. Some amazing food.
K. P.
Nice open market
You can find many good gift ideas or home decoration
Many street food options
The place smells "Italy"
J. ..
Amazing market full of a vibrant array of different cultures, from classic British food to asian, American, morrocan, a very large array of choices for anyone looking for lunch, dinner or even breakfast, and the food is suitable for all ages, allowing families to couple to eat, all the shops have a reasonable price on food and you get it very quickly as they make it in front of you and there's so many choices that it's unlikely there will be a queue. Once you've got your food, seating is available throughout the market and around it too, but availablity really depends on what time you go, but even at peak times (when I went) there's still a good chance you'll find a seat for up to 6 people. And once you've finished your food and drink, bins are readily available and spaces out throughout the market, and going further out in the market, there are a equally culturally diverse range of shops from small business, with a large range of goods on offer, from a large selection of clothing from different cultures, like classic Asian shirts. Overall, a very high quality market you can trust to make a good day out.
N.
Wow!!! What a cool market!!! I got so many cool and one of kind pieces! But more than that I got to meet the artists who created and made them. It was so awesome to meet them and chat with them. And then there is that amazing food court in the middle! How can I choose what to eat?!?! Everything looks so delicious, I walked around twice looking at all the vendors and their yummy foods. Then we came back to eat dinner there with my husband the next day and he was blown away too. No wonder that place is always so busy (especially during lunch). If (when) I come back to East London I’m coming back to this market.
M. F.
friendly quick service, clean and nice menu.
menu would do well to have better descriptions of the food though.
R. C.
Great variety of food stalls with lots of interesting looking choices. Also a nice mix of non-food stalls - t-shirts, jewellery etc.
There's not a lot of seating for food so at especially busy times you may need to wait or eat on the go
L. G.
Nice place and nice market. Good pñace to work arpund and to go with friends on a Saturday to check the market or to have munxh and aome beers. They ha e stalls with food from al over the world and they sell very uniquw products in the markwr. Spitalfields is definitely one of my fav places in london
S. A.
So during lockdown visiting this place was still ok. Not as busy as usual but some of the eating places still open, I had a burger, kids had some kebab the Mrs had some fish. Nice place but everything else was closed. My daughter also had a chocolate fondue cupcake.
N. o.
Great place to visit. Plenty of food stalls to choose from. Lots of different designers selling their creations. Some are very pricey. But its a great place to visit
M. R.
Not a lot of people wearing masks, good range of food and market goods, enjoyable to visit and just amble around. Very clean.
M. D.
Beautiful and big market in the heart of Liverpool street. It is full of eateries, pubs and shops. I would suggest a visit if you are nearby
Q. P.
Lots of craft stalls but missing much of a buzz at lunch time we felt. Toilets present but well below expectations for such a grand building.
R. C.
Mix of old and new surroundings was nostalgic and loved the art by Sara, highly recommend a look around, treasures to be found.
C. N.
You can spend the day here browsing the many stalls selling so many different things from art to baby clothes to specialist birthday cards and there are so many different food choices it'll be a challenge to decide where you finally want to eat. Completely under cover which protects you from bad weather. Very enjoyable day out.
I. H. K.
Love the market. It's not just the market it is a culture must visit. You can find halal food as well.
D. W.
Had walked around this market on a Saturday afternoon, my impression is there are lots of food stalls, about half of the market space is occupied by food stalls, since I have already had lunch so I didn’t eat anything there which was a shame. So I focused my attention to the stalls that are selling clothing, my impression is there are mainly independent brands which sell sophisticated clothing which you might not find in any chain stores in the high street, however the price is not cheap either. So if you are going to a market aim to find some cheap clothes or fake designer clothing, you have come to a wrong place. I also notice a lot of stalls which sell clothing they don’t put a price tag on the specific item, so I was thinking if you asked the owner for the price, it could be different between different potential customers, which I don’t really like this kind of trade. Maybe this is how a market place functions?! So overall it is not a place for me and I am more a high street brands person. So I guess to like it or not it really depends on individual person.
J. A.
If you want to visit a market and you’re in the area this is the place to be. They have a wide range of shops and decent selection of drink and food.
M. M.
What an amazing place! We were there too early to take full advantage of the amazing food available. Definitely going back on our next visit to London.
D. C.
Great market with shops and stalls. Lots of reasonably priced food!
K. E.
Great market, lots of jewellery and clothes; for vintage stuff and food wander down to brick Lane where you have the basement vintage clothing emporium. Lots of happy wandering; followed by food from the worldwide food stalls. Dont forget coffee and cake in "the townhouse" possibly the most atmospheric and evocative place to relax in.
S. D.
Fantastic market for crafts and food. So much variety of food and all of it looks exciting. I am sure you will feel extra hungry when visit. I loved Ethopian food stall, great option for vegans.
J. S.
Excellent food stalls which so many options. Lovely clothing stores. I will be back
A. K.
Its a lovely vibe. Nice varied food options however marlets stalls tend to repeat themselves with products sometimes. Makes it feel more like a tourist market rather than an independant creative market
T. W.
Nice little market for a quick lunch bite. Plenty of food stalls with a great range. Something for everyone.
L.
Nice , relatively relaxed open space market . Beautifully kept...clean and tidy
A. C.
Went on a Saturday so clothing, jewellery and asscessories xx lovely friendly people amazing choice of food drinks amazing coffee and pastry from a independent seller xx
A. L.
Wonderful food court with plenty of delicacies to try out!
Definitely worth going for the jian bin from Pleasure Lady. Their savoury pancakes are wonderful (albeit messy to eat). Includes mini eating stations with standing tables as well as benches for all to enjoy the food. You may have to grab a seat before going to order food else you may be waiting a while.
This market had so much choice in food and all their stalls have beautiful handmade items. Great for the gift giving season.
C. B.
I just loved it here so much. I could spend hours there browsing the stalls. The food is absolutely excellent as well.
S. F.
Well worth a visit. It was better a few years ago when it was mainly a wide variety of different stallholders with some street food but now it's mostly high priced food stalls with a few market stall holders which is a shame but its OK. For much cheaper Street food head to Bell Lane a few minutes walk where queues shouldn't be as long.
R. B.
The picture connected with this post is actually Brick lane which is nearby. Spitalfields market and Brick lane area are worth a visit though Brick lane could do with the pavements cleaned.
B. C.
During Thurdays and Fridays, vintage item vendors come and set up shop. Old coins, trinkets, and rare I say artifacts? The middle stalls consist of food vendors selling various delicacies. Give it a try 😉
M. S.
Worth a visit, if you are at Liverpool Street Station. Good selection of nicnaks for tourists. Reasonable street food outlets, a bit expensive though.
m. j.
Always worth a look, not cheap unless you think £3.80 for a doughnut is good, but some nice items
J. H.
A really light and airy covered market with an incredible mix of food stalls from all cultures, market stalls and great shops. Brilliant way to spend an afternoon off eating, drinking, shopping and socialising, whatever the weather.
T. J.
We did get there about twenty to ten and only a quarter of the stalls were fully set up. I would want to go again and have all the stalls open. I would have expected post lockdown that the vendors would be set up early to make the most of the tourists on a bank holiday weekend?
L. H.
Huge and varied range of stalls selling food and various items. Could easily spend a few hours mooching.
S.
Nice food, decent portions, bit pricey.
R. B.
One of the best street markets in London. Always buzzing, good food and a number of shops. I like the increasing veggie options here lately.
R. B.
Good to see the high Street isn't dead. Would be nice to see some more smaller start ups, instead of all the typical chains.
S. J.
Real interesting place and well worth a visit variety of stalls from clothing, jewelry, food and odd bit. If you get the chance I would say have a little walk around.
D. S.
I love Spitalfields Market. It's gone a bit upmarket in recent years, and lost some of it's charm, but it's gained in other areas...
R. R.
Great atmosphere and a good mix of independent retailers and food stalls. Ideal if you fancy a mooch - highly recommend the dumpling stand and Humble Crumble!
F. K. (. M.
There's always loads to do in this area; market, pubs, restaurants and dB good curry houses. Not to be missed if you're visiting. Things can be a tad on the dear side so look for bargains (there are plenty to be had).
M. A.
A little bit of everything from around the world well worth a visit
B. W.
This is a happy place with lot of shops. You can find jewellery to clothes ,Hats to shoes, good food to dining, handmade goods to machine made goods(laser arts) ,gifts, cards, souvenirs etc.
Most shop owners are from different nationals and you can see their native products too.
I heard some shopers are there for more than five years.
You will defenitly find gift items from this market.I bought a natural pearl necklace to my self ☺.
It was nicely decorated for this christmas.Check out the pictures 》》》
A. S.
Lovely large, clean, airy market. Excellent selection of food outlets, we had pasta and doughnuts. The lady at the doughnut stall was friendly and helpful. Toilets but didn't appear to be wheelchair access. Easy walking distance from Liverpool Street station.
C. G.
I have always enjoyed a wander around Spitalfields but not sure how I feel about its current image. Like many places these days, it has succumbed to hot food and there seem to be less variety of stalls all selling the same old thing. Unfortunately for me, there was nothing I could eat. I realise these food stalls have very small kitchen prep areas but even us Coeliacs have to eat.
e.
Love the availability of food and sellers. Hard to find them though I always get lost inside!! It just gets busier and busier every time I go, very loud inside, not a relaxing place to go eat and talk to friends as you can't hear a thing and gets very stuffy inside even though it's all open. Especially bad now during covid, no social distancing whatsoever
V.
An unavoidable market for both tourists and locals. A huge covered market for all things food, records, arts and crafts, restaurants, coffee, drinks and music. Very great spot to have a dander on the weekend.
M. B.
Brilliant!! Hidden gem, Great atmosphere, plenty to see, lots to choose from. 80% under cover and the vibe is on 👉!! Food was 10/10
K. W.
Great food choices for a lunchtime change, such a variety of foods from all different parts of the world.
K. S.
Amazing market, clean enough seating around lots of great street food. A mix of stores and restaurants and craft vendors. It's the best market I've been to in London. Would love to go back.
D. P.
Love the food options. Good vibes. Heating above the outside seating areas.
F. M.
We are so fortunate to have this place just a few minutes walk away from home. Food is stunning, the restaurants and local market are a must go!!!!
N. G.
Great afternoon spent at Spitalfields marker.
We ate and shopped. So many choices for food.
E. S.
beautiful market with lots of different things to do
P. B.
The market was okay to visit. The Thursday market was the one I attended. This is the day that is antiques day. The items were quite expensive, but still worth a visit. On that day there are two sides to the market. One side is fruit the other is the antiques side.
For those that are interested, there is also a large number of options of places to eat.
B. M.
Supreme selection of food and jewelry, handmade and crafted goods from hip and independent creators and merchants. Really fun to get the chat with people, and grab everything from masala chai to classic pizza and authentic Vietnamese.
M. C.
Awesome place with large amount of stands serving astonishing food
K. N.
Pre-COVID, Spitalfields Market was an exciting, buzzing food and vintage market.
Some of the best street food in the city can be found here and once you're done filling your bellies, you can peruse the many stalls from independent sellers looking for those unique gifts. You can even get a top hat!
It's walking distance from Liverpool station and famous Brick Lane is only across the road.
Visit on the weekend when the markets is at best. I would recommend visiting when in London.
H. T.
Walk around here while exploring the area in the morning. It was only 11:00 and it already got a nice vibe going. Food and place feels better than Camden.
Then again, different vibe.
D. H.
Great market for hand-crafted and thoughtful items, although the prices range. There are a ton of busy food stalls, continuous live music and festive treats during the holiday season too! I've been here twice and have enjoyed the market with friends and alone (coming from Canada)
A. P.
Excellent experience. Lots of places to eat. Lots of stalls to buy Stuff. Very well laid out. Worth visiting for sure.
S. S.
A really eclectic mix of street foods from around the world! We ate Venezuelan corn rolls filled with delicious meats. Pricey but exciting.
G. -. T. M. G. J.
Very well balanced place. Amazing food quality , variety with exquisite taste. Added to the vast variety of shopping stalls. With a good bargain...
P. P.
Nice place to wander around, although some (not all) of the stalls started to look a little samey to us with similar items. There are shops as well. And lots and lots of cafes, eateries, restaurants.
I. S.
If you're hungry or want to see unusual things or combine both, this us the place. Might be crowded, but still good.
J. L.
Spitalfields market offers a good variety of food and some sitting room, an ideal destination for a quick lunch. Although prices are higher and portions smaller than other markets.
J. P.
Very nice items, mostly sold directly by the makers. They're open to questions by curious buyers, some can customize (e.g. jewelry) on the spot. The place itself is very cosy and relaxed.
S. A.
Not what it used to be - now full of stalls with derivative merchandise. However, if you like shopping, lots of premium brands around and food to be had.
F. C.
Food is amazing, definitely come for that. I feel like the pandemic is the reason the rest of the market seems a little lack luster, but I'm sure it'll bounce back.
n. d.
Love the vibe of this place. Especially great for if you like food and clothing from independent business owners. Lots of handmade good quality product.
T. B.
Delightful market, especially the old part. New part of the market was quite modern, with accessories that a young person might enjoy. The old part is more traditional and artistic, with art sellers and traditional shops.
T. P.
Wonderful place to have a good time but needs a lot more public seats
S. N.
really nice place if you would like to buy something different as in high street chains
w. a.
Great place - good atmosphere. Great food and a good variety of stalls selling vintage stuff. recommended!
Y. -.
A fun market full of shops, stands and food trucks. Young, bustling atmosphere.
S. C.
There's good food and good interesting stalls. Well worth a visit.
C. A.
Cool shops, great food
C. B.
Such an amazing and vibrant part of London from the lovely market selling quirky clothes and delicious food to the wonderfully eclectic Brick Lane with its many Curry houses, vintage clothes shops and 24hr bagel bakery
D. A.
Great atmosphere, lots to look at, great choice of lunch eateries, all under cover ...so you can still enjoy if its raining, and beautiful statues are placed just outside, definitely recommend 👌
S. M.
I can't visit London without visiting Spitalfields. A great place to go for unique stuff, whether it's paintings, jewellery or clothes. The stall holders are chilled, they don't hassle you and are happy to have a chat.
c. s.
Busy marketplace, lots of food places, people I dealt with helpful and friendly, nice place to visit.
B. P.
One of my favorite markets in London, if not my favorite. Would definitely recommend, it is full of vintage places to discover the real urban vibe of the city.
A. F.
One of the many markets in London, this one is a must visit if you are visiting for the second or third time. You can find a variety of items being sold there ranging from handmade bags, clothes and jewelleries to candles and paintings.
There are many food options as well. Be sure to try the bao buns! 😉
Also around the stalls are shops and cafes.
N. B.
Lovely market , worth a early morning sat / Sun visit . Great food , cappuccino are decent 💪🏼
Definitely will visit again 👌🏼
L. W.
Great mix of stalls and food outlets under cover. Clothes, gifts and craft goods. Go hungry, you'll pick up lots of nice food here.
M. K.
Great market to walk around and shop, with trendy, artistic vendors, and a unique set of food trucks to grab a quick bite. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to walk, shop, and eat in London!
P.
What I saw in terms of restaurants was good, but I think that it would be a great place to visit after work during the summer evenings.
O. V.
Nice place, loads of shop choices
D.
Spitafields market will not be every one cup of tea, very trendy, unusual gifts , something different shall we say, plenty of street food to choose from,so much that sadly it dominates the market now but that all said, still worth a day out, there is plenty around it such as brick lane and so on .
F. I.
Great to have lunch here especially if working nearby. And also plenty of other shops. But need to increase halal options hence only 4 stars
i. s.
A Clean and tidy market.
Chai Guy is a must visit to get a cup of chai latte.
A. A.
Always good for a browse and now has great street food too
K. S.
Very few stalls but the items are very good quality. I was a bit disappointed to be honest
J. T.
Good place to go and decent prices for the stalls in place. Costa, Pret, Starbucks and Boots etc all present to make yourself comfortable. Good art work also present to test your photography skills. Definitely recommend!!
M. D.
Absolutely brilliant service and great food Shout to the staff doing so well on a very busy Sunday morning. Definitely recommend. And great for kids.
V. H.
Lots of shops for clothing and accessories. Good assortment of takeaway and dine-in food options.
A. A.
Good, but busy and expensive. Most of the none food stalls are utter trash, like it’s almost incomprehensible that they make any money from non tourists.
K. S.
Never been here before but was on my to do list for London.well worth a visit along of Boho stalls and food stalls (keep the kids happy) . Lots of choice for shopping and plenty of places for coffee and eating
C. C.
Lots of great food! Worth it there’s food from different cultures. It was a school for kids they came to sing they were great. There are lots of desserts. And many other vendors and artisans
A. T.
Vibrant, artsy and lots of good food!
B.
It’s just so lovely place if you enjoy shopping and food
J. C.
Cute little market with a good range of boujee food stalls and cute little shops. Way better than Covent Garden.
Don’t sleep on the warmed up Nutella donut, I’d cut off my left hand just to have another bite of that creation.
E. T.
A bit of everything at this market.
Good food, interesting crafts for gifts and lots of convenient shops in the area.
W. J.
Very pretty market. Good food stalls in the middle, boutique shops on the outside and a surprising amount of tat in between…
M. S.
A really fantastic market, with a diverse array of goods and services available. Also great places to eat. A place not to be missed
T. R.
An interesting and eclectic shopping experience ! An undercover market of interesting and hand made goods..also many stalls of good food ! Surrounded by a number of shops..you really can't go wrong !
E. T.
Trending Market, some nice food shops, only one block from liverpool stret and close to Bricklane where you can find even more food, in this case Asian.
C. T.
Great Food/ Drinks Market with plenty of local stalls selling a variety of good quality items. Great for a wander around on the weekends.
T. A.
Lovely place for so many different types of food and dessert really well kept Bleeker burgers milkshakes are amazing
P. S.
Nice Market with good food
G. B.
Lovely market in East London. Bespoke stalls selling art and other handmade goods. Good selection of restaurants and food stalls. I quite like the open space near Patisserie Valerie. They sometimes have music events and interesting art installations
M. D.
Whilst quiet on a Monday or Tuesday it's still an visit worth experiencing, so many beautiful stalls full of exciting gifts.
M. N.
Great vibe, so much to see and eat. Loads of different varieties of cuisine. I prefer this to Borough Market.
P. H.
Having been disappointed with Brick Lane and Petticoat Lane markets, Spitalfields was a breath of fresh air and full of life. Great to see such a wonderful old structure can be given a new lease of life in the 21st century. Great stalls selling lots of cool stuff, good food stalls, coffee shops and seafood bars. Public toilets are free and clean as well.
r.
A nice place to go on sunday, lots of interesting stores and amazing food from... take your time to have a good walk through brick lane and enjoy the markets... do not forget to try the indian food... the best place to get it...
B. H.
Not many places this central can take me into a calmed, relaxed state but this charming market does that. I feel like my bubble only gets burst by the crowds and price tags
A. E.
Spitalfield Market is a vibrant, clean and friendly hub in London. Its an instagramers dream, with its cute little stalls and high glass ceiling. In terms of covid safety it is very busy but I saw workers regularly cleaning and largely people were wearing their masks. Some of the food stalls there are award winning and I would highly recommend spending a little more there to really treat yourself as it is well worth it. All the dishes are at least £5 or more so pretty average for London. There's lots of seating and places to perch with your nice lunch but you will have to be prepared to squeeze on with someone else. Would go back everyday if I could. Easily accessible on public transport.
O. A.
First of all, all the neighborhood is so amazing and full of life! The market is 5 minutes from the underground station. You can find there anything you want! From local/foreign food, pizza to vegi stuff.. Designer clothing etc, Skincare, Cosmetics and more... Beside walking between the small boutique shops, the smells, the people.. just WOW!!! You can experience a lot if you see the little things that shine! I attached 2 food shops, the Turkish Kitchen, we ate there some of a kind bread filled with feta cheese and spinach and I have to say it was incredible! So tasty and simple, I'm super recommending that place! And the other booth was nice vegi tasting he gave us, So it was nice. Overall this market is a place to hang out and explore all the little shops that bring light to this market.
A. T.
Good place to visit if you want a drink or to eat. Also you can buy many handmade items.
R. H.
The best gift for your parent ❤
N.
Vibrant market with a great selection of food and wares. I was able to try excellent Ethiopian vegan food for the first time, as well as Indian Bentos. There were also great fashion finds at reasonable prices. I like this market better than most in London.
S. D.
Ok for a market, some good specialised stalls but we left rather disappointed overall. Eatery expensive for what food you actually get and the quality of the food.
M. P.
Visit, visit visit
Loads to eat, drink and buy.
The hustle of years gone, still exist for this part of London. Only wish the characters remained. But hey, we move on and so does the look.
Amazing place, please visit
A.
Great market, lots of interesting food stalls and shops as well. Lovely sat afternoon spent here!
N. H.
Nice place, lots to see, eat, drink 🍸
Ф. Г.
Large choice, nice food, nice people. But better on Monday or Friday when more people are remotely working.
Otherwise the waiting time might become a nightmare.
C. M.
Plenty of interesting stalls to buy presents or something for yourself!
J. D.
Really good market. A lot of the stalls sell the same type of product but no 2 stalls are the same. Plenty of food stalls and cafe/restaurants surrounding the market.
A. B.
A great classic market with various fashion shops, restaurants and places to eat from many different cultures.
V. S.
Can be a little hit and miss. Some food is amazing like the new keralan place I found. Some mediocre. Definitely worth a trip or two.
N. M.
Updated, refreshing, artistic and rejuvenating!
I have never been so lured by clothes and jewelry unlike this one. The market is an emotion.
R. B.
Thus place still I'd a great place to shop ,club dine and dronk cocktails! Still a great place to go instead of Central London where there are too many tourists.
A.
Nice market with many handmade items or let's say no ordinary bracelet, clothes, scarfs etc. You can find good locals to eat too.
P. D.
Perfect for street food ! Plenty of choice, everything is delicious, can get a bit busy round noon so would suggest go there early or a bit laterish
J.
Interesting place to look round, lots of different foods to try, not much seating and expensive though
P. T.
Much currently closed and under refurbishment. Well down a list of places to visit. Hopefully will improve following improvement work. Quite a few businesses no longer exist.
N. B.
Fantastic place. Lots of fun things going on. Good food and places to drink
R. L.
Really nice place to eat out and enjoy the high end building developments, indoor market and all those elephant statues.
c. m.
Good food, great stalls
S. P.
Still maintaining its corporate feel, and yet to regain its charm and vibrancy before the refit. A short walk towards Brick Lane is recommended.
G. M. M.
Excellent place to spend with family and friends, they have everything for gifts and self-gifts as well!
D. F.
This indoor market has plenty of interesting stalls and places to eat.
S. D.
This is an amazing market with so many tasty restaurants. I highly recommend visiting when you have a chance!
Sonia
K. G.
Love this place, now almost back to normal after the Covid Crisis, although still not buzzing with tourists. Lovely shops and artizan market stalls and great food stalls, with food trucks outside.
S. L.
If my memory served me right, an open air market that is full of individual vendors selling all kinds of stuff from food to little trinkets
S. G.
Loved Old Spitalfields market. The vibe and selection of vendors is great! From coffee, to fish and chips at Poppies , to artisan donuts, to a tasty Reuben sandwich at Monty’s , I could have stayed there the entire day.
F. H.
Great place to browse with 100 of artistically designed stalls. Definitely worth visiting on weekend.
b. f.
Lovely market, lots of stalls offering a variety of good. Sheltered from the wind but still really cold!
s. c.
Food and staff were really good. Even though they were very busy, still made a point to ask if everything was OK with the meal and if we were OK with drinks.
E. R.
Always enjoy going to Spitalfields Market at any time during the week. Great selection of food stalls, restaurants and independent traders. Would highly recommend Smoko Loco, Pilpel and Beijummy
K. S.
spitalfields is an amazing place to go for for food if you want just a quick bite or to sit down and chat with friends I quite enjoy going to the diner their chicken wings a nice and the staff are friendly and approachable they've got a lot of new just grab and go places to eat as well which is really nice a mixture of different global and international food stalls to eat at.
s. t.
This was an old Market building and was closed for many years until they decided to revamp and reopen it. Its a fantastic place to go to and visit not only for its historical significance but also because of the quirky market stalls and the weird and wonderful stuff they sell. And not forgetting the vast array of food stalls within the market and some excellent bars and restaurants nearby. The famous pub that was the place where 'Jack the ripper' used to Hunt his victims, is just across the road.
Highly recommended. Best to visit on a Sunday. Recommended to tourists and visitors...
C. N.
Cool place with food and drink options and interesting sellers. Can spend some time on a rainy day :)
N. B.
Lovely market to walking around. Different stalls each day with a variety of places to eat and drink as well.
T. D. W.
Great place to find some independent stalls and some bargains - good selection of food and drink also
c. w. l.
We enjoyed the market. Definitely recommend a visit if you are nearby. Some lovely quirky things available to buy.
M. J.
Great place to go lovely arts, antique and clothes market and lots of food stalls and restaurants
d. b.
Not really my idea of a market certainly not what I was expecting very designer and artsy orientated I know my local market still sells fruit n veg.. good for a.look.round but think if they dropped the word market it would be a lot more accurate
V. L.
Old Spitalfields Market has come a long way. This used to be a rather down at heel part of town but the market has brought a new lease of life to this part of our capital and catalysed new development at the same time.
When we visited it was late in the afternoon so it wasn't too busy, which is excellent as at other times, the crowd can be oppressive.
R.
Brilliant such a mix of old and new buildings it has changed so much
U. B.
Good food options, huge amount of clothes, prints, vintage. Perfect to bring a visitor from out of town.
M. B.
Fantastic place for shopping and hope to shop again. The only visit changed my mind to do the shopping often here, and the collections are amazing. The best part is the chai, where you get the perfect chai which makes you satisfy during the chilling climates and also would like to mention, they also have stalls where they give hot apple juices and all which I haven't tried and will do in future...
D. H.
Loads of great food, and some interesting stalls. Combined with Brick Lane this made for a really good day out.
A. C.
I really enjoyed spitalfields market. It had every cuisine you could ask for and had probably one of the best selection of vegan restaurants that I have ever seen in a market. There are vendors selling a lot of unique items and food stalls specializing in specific cuisines meaning there is something for everyone, no matter what you are craving! There is everything from cafes, to food trucks to asian food stalls to vendors selling Nepalese heat warmers. I loved this and would advise every tourist and local to visit it.
S.
A great place to buy quirky fashion items and unique gifts. A lovely market to visit
e. t.
Nice quaint set up from a former Expo Hall. Have a nice cafe for the me, as wife and daughter tour the museum. Free entry.
k. D.
Excellent market with different niche stools with independent designers selling their crafts. It's also a great place to go to if you want a bite to eat, whether it be a quick one or a sit down meal you can do this here. It's a great place to go to to catch up with friends and family
-.
I really enjoy visiting the vinyl market which is held on the first and third Friday of every month. You can browse for every artist and genre in every price range here. It's good to have a browse and then stay for a late lunch after all the worker ants have gone - the food stalls are well worth exploring.
E. R.
Very good standard of stalls. Good mixture of quality and reasonable items for sale in the antiques market. Good selection of food venues available even if still a bit quieter than usual with the ongoing effects of covid.
S. P.
What can I say. Used to be a bustling market with plenty of food stands with a selection for everyone and all the latest trends in food with a good measure of stalls selling goods to peruse. Unfortunately it is now closed due to the pandemic. However there are the food delights of Brick lane only a few minutes walk away.
B. T.
Always a joy to visit and shop or grab a bite to eat, some great little bars too
C.
The best market! Delicious food and drinks, wonderful assortment of local art and crafts. Something for everyone!
S. E.
We had an Italian pizza 🍕 was so tasty and delicious many shops you can find everything you need there best place ever
M. F.
I have to say that perhaps this department store is not for everyone's budget, but at least you can find a lot of beauty and food experiences inside of the best quality. Loved to find Godiva's chocolate strawberries 💕
L. L.
Loved it, beautiful stalls from jewellery to clothes & food.
E. C.
Massive shopping centre and great open food market right in the centre of City!
L. H.
Bustling with people and great selection of foods and crafts. Lots of disposal facilities and maintenance staff to keep it clean and tidy.
A. H.
Wonderful covered market with a good variety of stalls, coffee places and restaurants. Could poke arrive here for hours!
D. B.
Loved the unique shops and individualized offerings of these talented vendors. Spent my pounds on items I would not have found anywhere else.
C. G.
Nice experience in the last week at Spitalfields Market and there was some very unique stands with great store owners willing to talk and discuss their wares.
It was nicely spaced inside and very open. Nearly everywhere had card machines too which was great.
I will say many places are very similar and the branded stores like Chanel in the middle do not fit in with the style of the market.
Still a London must.
If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!
V. V.
Great atmosphere whether alone or with friends/family. Great browsing. Spoilt for choice for food. Deals.
D. C.
One of the best markets in London! I will never go there and not find something I wish I could buy! Too pricey though!
P. T.
Love this place, lots of character and charm and now filled with plenty of placed to eat, from a bubble waffle to a full meal. Not cheep but a real lively hub near the city.
K. K.
Thank goodness for SF market. Its like what Camden used to be. A really nice atmosphere and great variety.
L. G.
This market is really awesome!
There is great foodtrucks as well as vintage brick a brack, jewelery, clothing and more!
I tried the Ethiopian food and it was good.
Worth a visit, something for everyone 🤗

Go to Spitalfields on most of my trips to London and always combine it with street art hunting in Brik Lane and secondhand stores (especially on weekends). Discovered "Shrimpy" - had a heavenly shrimp burger

Brilliant place to find interesting items, full of the weird and wonderful, the best way to spend a Thursday afternoon.

A market in continuous existence since the Thirteenth century is an object of curiosity itself, not to mention the splendidly redeveloped market center bearing international street food kiosks, handicraft huts, an open court to enjoy summer shows and the proximity to Liverpool Street station giving it a clientele truly representative of London's international character. Not a touristy destination as such, but a location Londoners identify with.

Cool place to check out. Unique items being sold and good food stalls.
G. B.
This is the area my family came from hence try and get back when I can. Glad to see life returning and market buzzing.

Nice market, many food choices, from the street food to a normal restaurant. Some particular shop and every Thursday there is the vintage Market... Really nice
Ps: eat a bagel with pulled pork and cheese from "dirty bagel" and after get a coffee from "Mr coffee and Mrs cake".

Some seriously good food if you can find the food market (not hard to find!) there’s a ton of options so really not short on choice. Even have some great stalls for vegan and veggies - personally the meat stalls are incredible!!
Not one to miss; definitely stop by when you’re next in the area... the steamed buns are beautiful!
C. T.
A market lovers dream. The problem is, so much choice! You have to give it a good few hours to take it all in so thankfully plenty of choices to eat and drink to keep you going.
M. R.
Great place for shopping and eating, lots of different eateries and stalls.
H. F.
Good variety of food and shopping spaces. I really liked the Fen noodles. There are many stalls for clothing and accessories that have really good products, although prices vary wildly, do check around before you buy.

Went on a Sunday and was pleased to see it buzzing with stalls and shops and restaurants. Good vibe and felt well ventilated and clean.
B. L.
Went on a Thursday different markets on different days apparently. Wide selection of goods on offer, not fruit and veg today, only 1 bread stall. Best part for me was the food hall....vegan/carnie African/eastern/asian/European. All styles all super tasty. Hardest decision of the day was what to eat. All looked fantastic. Go hungry is my advice. Highly recommended.

Loved the place. Good vibe, good food, colourful and a live, what else can you ask?

Many food stalls and restaurant. In Summer there is an area that shows sports on a huge outdoor screen. Nice place to spend your weekend afternoon
Verrrry busy.

Always something new to discover here. It's a short walk from Shoreditch with its many trendy restaurants. The market has a lot of small business pop ups, from food to retail. There's an outdoor cinema type of space as well. Very close to train stations and bus routes.
A. S.
Always nice got some late lunch and just wandered around old streets like the old&new mix together.
J. E.
A great selection of stalls in a very modern indoor market. Some great pop up food stalls with a huge selection of different things both sweet and savory. Plenty to look at and we spent about an hour here. Could have easily spent longer if we had of had the time.
A. R.
Great time at Spittlefields Market. We ate from the Bamboo House for truck, amazing Chinese food.
T. S.
Friend from South Africa visiting London and had a lovely walk about and found it interesting and unusual. Great food and choice of products.
C. M.
Loved it a great area lots to see the only down side were prices...a bit expensive, some stalls were not open but it was Monday.
T. S. B.
Nice collection of food stools, prices slightly high for every day lunches.
M. J.
Excellent food, hopefully more places slowly reopen and haven't been too affected by the pandemic as the choices have decreased slightly but there's still lots of things to choose from.
R. B.
Loved the food stalls everyone was so welcoming at their stalls could've spent all day there
G. H.
Marvellous part of London. The west end in the east end. A day out on its own right.
K. M. B.
So many cool stalls and there's one with these amazing donuts- I had mine the next day and it was still awesome. Also have this really nice laser cut card stall which was nice and my friend loved the Simpsons card I got him

Lots going on here, my daughter had the Samosa Chaat from Indi-go Rasoi and declared it delishious, I can confirm that from the little I was allowed to taste.

Best experience. Chai guys, and Mr bombay was hit . Enjoyed tea n food from respective places.
J. l.
A brief visit to this market, mainly to get out of the sun and for something to drink. Although I can see they've really made an effort to make it seem normal, I guess the effects of the lockdowns are still being felt with plenty of empty stalls visible. Visitor numbers (on a hot July Thursday) felt off too. Anyway, I got my bubble tea and a seat in the shade for 20 minutes, so ready for the next adventure!
R. C.
Love this place. Recommend a walk around on a Sunday.
T. B.
Plenty of places to shop eat and drink with a good selection of vegan goodies
A. W.
Great food and lots of interesting stalls. It’s ever changing
N. D.
This market was very fun, and large enough to make it a worthwhile trip. Very clean. Plenty of stalls. Free handouts. Great for a Sunday trip.
O. G.
An absolutely bustling market full of great foods and interesting little shops! Each shop is open on different days so I do recommend a quick look at their site if you’re hunting down something specific! The food though! Amazing! Such variety and great sizes to try a variety of foods as a single meal! I personally recommend the hot fried soup dumplings (warning they will burn your mouth so take care eating them) and the lotus biscoff crepe. One of the few places where you can get this kind of variety in London! A definite must go for the curious food goer!
D. B.
Amazing range of street food options and plenty of seating space!
R. B. G.
Large variety of food.
Enjoy your time and eat well.
S. C.
So much choice of lunchtime meals, desserts and drinks. Most stalls have an Asian cuisine theme, ranging from bubble waffles / tea, Thai, Cantonese and Indian.

It has everything from food to vintage clothing. A must place to visit even if you're not a tourist
B. C.
Love coming here... seen it change sooooo much from the early 80s to this vibrant community space, full of spirit and diversity. Not all so great for some I'm sure. But putting all that aside, it's wonderfully exciting, so much to see, to do, to smell, to taste, to drink... visited The Real Greek restaurant, it was expensive, but the food seemed freshly made and tasty. Clean and well designed.
D. H.
Some interesting independent stalls interspersed with some high end stores such as Channel, Tag Heuer etc Nice to browse round on a Sunday morning
G. T.
Good fun, but needs a leather hat seller to satisfy my cravings.
J. S.
Lovely place for a mooch around with hundreds of stalls selling all different items, fabulous selection of food and drink to choose from and a great atmosphere in the East End/City
B. R.
We like to visit Old Spitalfields Market on Thursdays, when there are vintage and antique dealers. (On other days the market is less impressive.) Prices may vary, but that's part of the fun: spotting a gem for a reasonable price. There are lots of places to pick up all sorts of exotic food that make this market really cosy and well worth a visit.
C. S.
The market was good, but the surrounding area they have bronze statues of elephants dotted around and the reason why
J. J.
Good options, great food
S. M. P.
Outstanding location. Clean and vibrant. A great mixture of street food from asia, india and much, much more.
There are also restaurants and bars squeezed in-between office buildings. An array of market stalls selling, hand-bags, jewelry and pop-up paper greeting cards. There is currently an exhibit of brass elephants to capture your eye. A must see visit on your travels.
Enjoy
I. F.
Very busy at midday as lots of people around for lunch, but a great variety of food and shops
S. M.
We went on a Monday afternoon and half the stalls were closed. It's a bit of a tourist trap.
A. N. R.
Always a pleasure to come here. Lots of stands with handmade products like clothes, jewellery, food. Totally a place to go 😀
F. D. S.
Used to be a lot busier but still a nice place to go
S. D.
An exciting place to visit. Bustling streets filled with trendy, artistic types. The murals are amazing. I love London because of these interesting places to visit
M. H.
Great mix of a shopping centre meets a food filled Sunday market
P. M.
You will be disappointed if you expect to find a real East End of London open market with cheap stuff, bargains and bric-a-brac to browse. While it offers a variety of stalls and products it feels sanitized and expensive trading on a 'traditional' reputation it doesn't live up to. There are lots of eateries around though.
M. C.
Went there for the first time and really enjoyed its bohemian vibe. Beautiful stalls, a little expensive but nice as a treat. The food court is amazing with great variety. Will definitely go back during the summer.
L. H.
Lots of variety of food stalls and some unusual ideas for gifts on some stalls......shame it wasn't as busy as it should have been before xmas
S. T.
Roof covered market place. Well organised and less crowded comparing to the nearby Brick Lane. The stalls selling handicrafts, leather craft and apparels. There are few cafe and restaurants around too.
A good place to stop by.
E. S. (.
Great place to grab a bite to eat from multiple unique stalls and a fantastic market!
C. W.
It's a market tracing it's origin back to the thirteenth century. Revived through careful city planning that includes a wide square with art installations and seating area and covered kioks offering tempting plates of international street food and handicrafts.
