Reviews of Strutton Ground Market
L. F.
So disappointing the lovely delivery that sold wonderful rolls has closed. Just fast food in huts. They did not look very hygienic. Long queues in Greg's.
T. C. H.
Love this place, will find something new or different every time l visit. Lots of fresh foods and a few stalls depending on the day you go. Today l picked up a wristwatch for £15 have seen it for more elsewhere.
J. S.
Great place to shop and buy food prepared in front of you from different countries and places. Very good try out 😋
B. L.
Go to the Santana Grill stand. If you want to eat the best Mexican food, made by a Mexican with the best ingredients at a convenient price. This is the place. This is the jewels of this street market with long ques for service (always a good indicator). However, the quality of the food is what it make it outstanding. Service excellent.... Other alternatives are really good with amazing variety and service, but when you have one outstanding you get distracted
T. S.
Best place for food from all the pop ups in the local area. Much better than a boring sandwich from pret (although double the price)
L. M. M.
It's is the must go to lunch spot in the area. Fantastic selection of popular food stalls at fairly reasonable prices. Defiantly beats going to the chain food shops.
D. P.
Santana Grill at Strutton Ground market is without doubt the best burrito you can get in the UK! Even since working from home I still go out my way to get there for my lunch!
W. C.
One of the nest streets in London for street food stalls. All of them offer good quality food at Reasonable prices. Definitely recommend the falafel wrap
N. K.
This could’ve been good but like my friend’s sweet potato fries from the Caribbean food stall, a bit over cooked and burnt. My mutter paneer curry was also very ordinary, more garam masala than flavour if you ask me, so that’s how I’m justifying my three stars. Better luck next time I do lunch with my friend who works nearby?
L. T.
Lots of rustic food stalls great for a quick 😋 bite too eat at lunch time
S. C.
Good place for street food, Clipper of the Yard gives a good hair cut and there are two women's hairdressers.
J. S.
Wonderful array of street food reasonably priced and tasty.
S. C. C.
A cobbled-stone working-class area in Westminster. Thriving mini market mainly selling hot food, from vegan, vegetarian, samosa's, kebabs, chicken dishes, beef dishes, salad dishes, although there are hairdressing and barber shops, clothes, shoes, optician, chemist, fruit stall, shoe shop/stall, clothes stall, fresh fruit stall. A Pub. A chinese restaurant. Eat in or takeaway, 2 newsagents. A bookmakers. Market Open Mon-Fri only. Closed Sat & Sun. Looking at the photos contributed to Strutton Ground exactly depicts the area. The grounds of Strutton is in the middle of a makeover. Brand new paving ground. Very few food stalls out there whilst works are being carried out.
B. D.
Really cool place to go for lunch. Such a nice range of foods and all look delicious!! I got a chicken burrito and it was super tasty. I definitely want to go back for more lunches. Good location too
S. S.
Came here for tongue & cheeks to try the burger. Busy street market with loads of different choices of foods to eat.
Was very impressed with the bacon cheese burger. A delicious burger and chips were very crispy
E. F.
Vibrant place full of interesting food stalls at lunch time. I work very close so I have my lunch there almost everyday.
O. J.
Hidden gem, if you love street food, or want to try street food, this is the place to go. There is variety and the prices ate reasonable and you definitely get value for money
I. D. M.
Delicious chicken wraps from Lebanese Grill and Wraps in what is almost a hideaway street market, have been twice already this week for Lunch
R. W.
Food is amazing from these little stalls. Go there once a week and never disappoints
H. S.
Strutton Ground is the perfect place for a lunch break from work, lots of options for different dietary choices and a few parks near by to sit and eat in.
J. d. B.
My favorite place for a quick lunch in London! There's a wide selection of street food which makes it ideal for groups
A. M.
Awesome to see this street market come back to life. Great for high quality coffee and features a wide range of food stalls, from Latin America to the Middle-east.
A. L.
Lots of choice and plenty to choose from be prepared to spend around £7 for food from the market stalls but good size and tasty.
L. B.
Brilliant, cheap, fresh street food! (Lunch only / cash only)
V. G.
A brilliant place to get street food. I got a proper tortilla at the spanish joint for only £6. Worth a try.
G. C.
One of not many places in London where you can have a proper variety of street food.If you fancy some good fish and chips or spanish patatas or Lebanese haloumi. This is the place for you.Always fresh and tasty. Don't forget about wraps, chebabs and burgers
R. S.
Great selection of street food for your one adventure into the outside world between back to back meetings
M. S.
Lively street food market plenty of choice and not too expensive
g. h.
Good market food available . In store shopping available too
K. K.
Visit here mainly for the food, you will get quite a good variety to choose from. I wouldn't say this is the best place in London to shop for clothes though. Be prepared for quite a bit of crowd. You will get decent food for dirt cheap rate. Average food quality but it is good value for price
M. I.
Lebanese Grill make the best kofte wrap - the lamb mince is of high quality and you will taste the difference compared to other stalls & takeaways. The two lovely chefs are Lebanese and take great pride in their craft
I. F.
What's note to like!? At lunchtime pretty much any time of the year you have an amazing selection of food stalls. Had the most amazing tuna burger which was exquisitely cooked. Best ever.
M. B.
Fantastic local food market stalls close to the tourist centres of Westminster.
The atmosphere is wonderful and we were there fairly early for lunch at around 1130, and by the time we were finishing lunch the queues were pretty significant, so get there early!
There is a huge range of food and everything looked wonderful!
P. E.
Fantastic little food Stalls and a Great Coffee Stop
D. F.
I don't really want to publicize this! Strutton Ground is a really useful little street if you're in the Westminster area and you want something to eat for lunch (eat-in or takeaway) at a reasonable price. The shops and stalls cover all kinds of foods and most are good value.
A. S.
Some fab eateries in here, but ruined by its own popularity. Be prepared to queue for way longer than your lunch break if you want something nice. A lot is quite expensive too - obviously some of the stall holders trying to take advantage of the large queues.
C. w.
Its a nice enough market albeit rather small. The food stalls have some intresting food, I am personally rather fond of the falaffel place. The food stalls are of good quality generally but rather expensive as lunch will cost somewhere from £5-7 roughly. It provides a nice treat alternative to the standard meal deal from the nearby supermarket chain convenience stores.
J. P.
Strutton Ground Market is a small street market held on weekdays near Victoria, London. The market is located on a narrow cobbled street - Strutton Ground - between Victoria Street and Greycoat Place/Great Peter Street.
P. J.
My team and I go here when we meet in London, usually once a week. The stalls all sell food items suitable for lunch. My boss is a vegetarian and so usually goes for the Indian Street Food stand to pick up her fix of veggie curry and rice, which is dirt cheap at £4 for a standard plastic take away box. Other options at other stalls include Spanish cuisine, various chicken and other kebab meats, salt beef and chicken, salads etc. There's also a speciality coffee stand.
A good place to go for lunch if you work in Westminster.
B. M.
This was a really cool market. Lots of selection from a number of different vendors, and the prices couldn't be any better. I took some time to speak with a few vendors, and they were all extremely friendly. They all were happy to show me what they had for sale, but none were pushy. I did end up buying a few items, and I've been happy with them so far. Whether you go here to make purchases or just enjoy the experience, it's well worth visiting. Highly recommended.
A. 7.
Decent small market, about 2 clothes stall, a stall that sells bits like umbrellas and watches etc and the other 90 percent of the market is food as is the shops so there's a really great selection of dishes from all over the world, from Spanish to indian. Only downside which is expected is that there is big ques from about half 12 till about 2pm.
U. S.
For the area this street food place has a great variety for what you pay for. I like the mixture of shops and stalls to give you a very wide choice of options. I'm new to the area so only managed to try a few places. These are my opions:
Indian stall - good value for money with veg option at £4. However, it will fill a hole but not great deal of different spices. The chicken option had more flavour. Very unlikely to go again, but it was not awful.
The Fish Steak stall - £7 for a sandwich is a pricey, but well worth it. The chef cooks the Tuna steaks medium rare which leaves it very juicy. The sides - especially the feta - goes fantastic with it. I will go back, if they ever come back.
The Falafel stall - not bad for place. It's great that they try them on site and almost to order. However, the one time I ate it it was lacking flavour. The sides partly made up for it. I'll go back if I'm in a vegetarian mood or on a budget.
L. B.
Lots of places to get good food
J. S.
A great little market, mainly for food, stalls down the middle, shops on either side. Really popular for midweek lunch. You won't find better burritos anywhere, the Spanish stall is great, and there is something for everybody.
L. B.
A nice market area with great variety of food. Was not impressed at all with the stall selling Greek wraps. They used the same utensils for pork and the vegetarian halloumi options then denied it even though I saw it with my own eyes. He even grilled the cheese where the pork was. Really not on
Apart from the stall I like the food and cafes there
G. U.
The stalls sell very good food from different countrys with a nice price point. The restaurant in this area is also excellent for customer service and food quality from my prepective. Its gets really packed from 11am to 2pm due to everyone wanting to get their food. They are all competitively priced too. -1 star for being to tempting.
S. B.
Always a nice place to grab lunch. Very good value for money.
T. K.
Loads of good food to choose from.... Do you want French, Mexican, Indian etc
I like falafel and the chicken ciabatta... Over £5 seems steep 3 for a working lunch, that seems to be standard amongst the rest
Big queues form especially on Friday lunch times. Better to go at other day of the week.
I. T.
Plenty of food and coffee places has a Greggs
a. w.
The food here is great staff are excellent. Family run business burgers are lovely chips are always fab lamb kebab wrap is spot on . Well worth a visit
N. P.
Great selection of food stalls so around lunchtime, the narrow Lane is packed with people. Nice cafes and shops to buy prepared foods and bakery items. 1 cash machine that I'm aware of.
c. S.
Lovely food and lovely service the rice is the best rice I've ever had u ever near make sure u grab a bite to eat from here:)
B. D.
Not a bad little market, very busy during the week with many local food stalls as well as other cafes down the sides of the street. Sadly some of the bigger chains have started to move in, but the little stalls are where it's at if you want great food.
There is a lot of choice, from veggie falafels to rotisserie chicken and also curries. Lets not forget some of the awesome sandwich shops, chip shops, health shops and bakeries as well.
Plenty for all to pick from.
As a note, it's not as busy at the weekend as most of the shops are closed and there are no market stalls.
L. S.
Good little market with a variety of different regional cuisines on offer to cater for carnivores, vegetarians and pescetsrians. Mostly around the £7 mark which for the area is typical price for lunch, and not vastly more expensive than your chain sandwich shops.
Z. R.
excellent market full of great good stalls
e. p.
The Bon Bouche 5 stars, everything just perfect, food and service. The street food only the burger place gets 4 star, the Spanish 3, the Lebanese 3, the rest no more than 2.
B. T.
Strutton Ground Market is a relatively short street that is filled with a number of different stalls selling different food items. There's a good selection. If none of those take your fancy there's your usual more mainstream sandwich shops down there as well.
I've only gone there at lunchtime during the week where it gets pretty busy, so I don't know what it's like the rest of the time.
J. L.
Just what you need...street food, nice people!! Lot of choices: jerk chicken, paella, burguers, salads...just perfect.
K. C.
I really like coming to the strutton ground market to grab a meal. While it can be a hair more expensive than the places around, it is definitely worth the price (well, it depends what you get) as the food is made in front of you. Also has more variety than Tachbrook street market (although that one is cheaper).
Probably the main downside is actually the price and popularity - especially towards the end of the weekdays (e.g. friday), or on particularly clear/sunny days.
All in all, a nice place to go for a tasty wrap (felafel/gyro/kebab/burrito) or a rice dish.
M. M.
Buzzing, beautifully fragrant with smells from all over the world. Lunch time is the right time if you fancy something a little bit different to eat. Samplers available at most food stalls.
R. P.
Strutting Ground is a small market with a range of food and other stalls selling different items. The food stalls are great although are very expensive. The road itself has other shops and food restaurants also.
However, it can be quite shady especially in the evening as there are a lot of beggars roaming the area so do be careful!
R. W.
Great selection of street food stalls during the week, alongside a range of food and other shops. At the weekend, very quiet and not much open. Close to St James' Park, making it great to grab lunch and take it to the park.
A. G.
Definitely one of the highlights of London. Various cuisines catering to Westminster workers not the cheapest, but not too expensive. The falafels at the end of the street are glorious, fish and chip shop is superb, burritos are not bad at all, and you've got several salad bars as well! Hard NOT to go if you work around the area.
R. I.
A huge variety of street food is available here. It's slightly more expensive then the ones on petticoat lane or Vauxhall street but if your in that area its definitely the place to go for a hot lunch.
A. K.
If you like street food, then this the place to go. I believe it is only open during lunch hours and weekdays. Ample of choice from Indian, Thai, Greek, Chinese, etc. Also not very expensive.
B. D.
If you want street food this is the place to be. A wide range of styles. Very busy during the lunch period. In addition a choice of shops serving sandwiches, fish and chips and franchises such as Subway and Pret-A-Manger.
N. P.
Great location of street food from different cuisines. Very popular for nearby office employees around lunch time. Will lead to at least a 10 minute queue at times. Still worth waiting for it.
c. w.
Great place for food and shopping
Y. A.
Great selection of food ESP halal. There is a salad shop who sell at reasonable prices I can recommend. The street food kebab was underwhelming. Shame no places to sit and eat or wash your hands.
G. K.
Huge range of both street food and more conventional fare. I'm particularly a fan of Madame Gaultier's - nice boxed meals (pasta, rice, stews and even shepherds pie) for between £5 and £7.50 and usually has relatively short queues.
O. S.
Decent range of food stalls, ranging from Indian to Spanish to burgers. For a main meal, on average you are looking at about £6. Usually the stalls are finishing up at around 14:30.
Q.
Lovely food from around the world. starting price between £6-7
M. D.
Good range of food stalls with average prices but nice food. The clothes stalls are mostly (well for me) either not my style or very glitzy. However, one of the stall holders sometimes buys/sells branded clothes for people. Laughing Halibut is a great fish and chip shop. Lots of shops selling 'bits and pieces' like electrical goods etc. There are one or two beauty salons too but the one I went to wasn't great, just average. Greggs, EAT etc there which is handy, Munich Cricket Club (Bavarian beer house) and a pub. Patrons tend to be business people (Channel 4, Burberry, government offices etc) at lunch times and can get really packed.
N. H.
Great place for lunch - big variety of different food stalls set up down the middle of the street: falafel, French, Mexican, chicken and salad, etc. as well as a mix of independent and chain food stalls down either side.
I. M.
Good selection of street food. I had a very generous wrap that was really reasonably priced for central London
G. P.
Amazing food options. Pretty much everything you could dream of including Italian, wraps, Mexican, infmdian, smoothies, and much more. Makes a nice change to Pret-A-Manger and Pub food.... Although both are available there also. Great prices too
T. L.
Good street food at lunchtime. Fairly lively and an oasis of life in sterile Westminster. Largely focussed on lunch for tourists and office workers.
R. J.
Great place for some street food between 12:00-14:00 Monday to Friday. Plus good range of small permanent shops each side for lunch, food, shopping and beauty the rest of the time.
J. O.
Choice for everyone. I’ve never had a bad meal from this market. Savage salad or the whole shebang are my personal favourites!
M. A.
A great selection of hot food stalls. The Indian stall is incredible, they do Indian wraps and have different curries each day off the week.
A. K.
Lively street food market. Variety of options. Always busy. Must try all the options. Truly value for money. Highly recommended
K. S.
excellent choice of foods and well priced
V. D.
Nice market really for locals but good fun mostly fast food stalls but lots of different shops happily spend a lunch hour there no probs
G. B.
Primarily a food market with stalls from many cuisines. The Lebanese falafel wrap stand on the end is my favourite, but the new Greek souvlaki (get the triple halloumi!) stall is also a top contender.
R. W.
Very nice if u r looking for food lots of choice from many countries. Still has one or two stalls selling female clothing and footwear and silver items not bad vibrant market.
K. A.
Great market with large choice of street food (mainly during the week).
Falafel sandwiches/ French cuisine/free range chicken wraps/kebabs/Spanish tapas....
M. Z.
Brilliant place for food, try out Mama's Salt and Beef Jerk, I think they are brilliant, moist but not runny, and meat well cooked but not dry.
A. S.
Great place to get a variety of street food for lunch from Monday to Friday including French, Mexican, soul food, Italian, Spanish and good old fish n chips. Some queuing incolved
H. M.
At its liveliest during the week at lunchtimes. Stalls selling street food and sometimes clothing, books and shoes. A great Oxfam bookstore with a very good selection of books as well as vinyl records and cds .
B. B.
A really good range of food. Some stalls are a little pricey for what you get.
The rotisary chicken stall is superb though!
N. J.
Great variety of foods every weekday at lunchtime from market stalls, sandwiches, fish and chips, Chinese. Spoilt for choice and great value
M. W.
Shame the market stalls sells mostly food these days rather than clothes- will have to find somewhere else to shop....
S. F.
The market is fine for food eaters as most of the stalls are foods. Would have liked to have a bit of variety with other stalls.
I. C.
Market has changed and is now a food market. Great choices and not too expensive. Very popular at lunchtime.
D. 7. D.
Now mainly a food lunch time place. Good food offerings, sometimes clothes available but due to horrendous rain not open. Great shoe shop
L. A.
Great streetfood market opened every lunch during weekday. Prices are very competitive and quality and variety is good!
R. L.
Arguably the best food in London. And what a variety! It's piping hot and really scrumptious.
S. H.
More of a food market now which is great for local workers as different hot food sold. Still has some normal stalls and also has shops down both sides
s. f.
Nice variety. Indian, vegetarian, halal, chicken shop, salad bar. Monday to Friday. Beware of the cobbled stones. Known to twist many an ankle.
M. G.
Lots of food vendors, appetising smells, bit crowded at lunchtime, but the queues move quickly and it's reasonably clean.
E. C.
Some very nice food stores. Can get busy at lunchtime, so get there as near to 12pm as possible as food does run out.

Delicious food at a cheap price. Solid weekday market for the local suits, that hasn't been turned into a hipster rip off yet.
D. B.
This is now largely street food. Not much else there. But a good choice of eatery stalls.
J. P.
Really good wholesome food market. Great selection but get there before too late otherwise it will all be gone.
C. B.
