This is not my closest food shop, but occasionally it is worth the 10 min drive. Parking is often a squeeze at busy times. There is always a space or two. There is a plentiful supply of fresh fruit and vegetables. I also like their meat section. The steak is excellent. The other department I like are bakery and choice of cheese and cured meat.

Yasar Halim sell the most amazing food and drink here, I love this shop, huge selection of olives I've never seen so many before, the fresh bread is truly outstanding, they also sell household products, a lot of the food and drink products are international and you cannot get them anywhere else so you have to shop here! They also have free international newspapers very good for learning languages, reading the news. They are such a good shop you mostly have to queue but the wait is not long. Huge selection of beautiful fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs. Parking is busy, so be prepared to wait, get their early or park elsewhere. I love Yasar Halim and recommend it highly. Oh and I forgot to tell you about the cakes OMG they are fantastic...

Amazing shop, lots of Greek and Turkish products (and other European) but you can also find anything that would be in a normal supermarket. Their fruit & veg selection is in my opinion the freshest in the area, there's also a bakery and a take away counter with sandwiches, salads and hot meals - and the value is amazing. People who work there are also super nice, helpful and hard working and keep smiling even in super busy times.

This year the indoor Turkish market is celebrating its 40th birthday. It's great little market that sells both Greek and Turkish produce. You can find fresh vegetables, fruit, fresh and cured meats, fish, dairy, bakery and there are some great deals. Not everything is cheap though so watch out for some of the fruits and veg but the quality is good. Staff are friendly and helpful and the checkout girls are an absolute delight.

I used to pop into Yasar Halim 3 to 5 times a week, but over the years I have reduced my visits as I find the quality of their fresh fruit & veg adequate only for use within a couple of days of purchase. The varieties of what they sell have reduced over time and I find I can buy most of what they sell cheaper elsewhere. Their meat goods are quite expensive and their bread etc are approx 50% dearer than other places. I now treat them as a convenience store for the occasional items I may need that a supermarket doesn't cater for.

I loved this shop when it first opened as it had all the Mediterranean food I wanted in one place. But now that it has the clientele established I think it is over priced and the vegetables are not always 1st grade and can perish quite quickly. If I have a BBQ, I will still shop here for my pittas, bread, halloumi and pickles, but I prefer to buy my fruit and veg from the supermarket as I know it will last if not used.

Also has a fantastic range of olives in different marinades and varieties. I try to do most of my weekly shopping here as its often cheaper and better quality for fresh produce.

Excellent food and selection. Most staff are friendly although I find the vegetable section staff hard to talk to and scary (that's probably more my own awkwardness 🙃). Although the layout feels overcrowded and rustic, its definitely one of the best Turkish supermarkets I've been to in terms of good fresh veggies, selection of foods and fresh bread. Good amount of parking, attendant there at busy periods to guide you to the spaces.

Great Turkish supermarket in Palmer's green. We have been going here for fresh fruit and vegetables for years and they always have a great choice and variety. The quality of the products are good as well. The Turkish breads are to die for and are just delicious especially if they have just come out of the oven. The best part about the store are the olives. At the back are about 15-20 different variations of olives and you can select them by weight. You can get Turkish deserts, halloumi cheese and lots more. They have free parking on premises as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Great place to buy the kind of things you can't get in the supermarkets such as: quince, Spanish chard, artichokes etc as well as great Turkish bread and savoury pastries straight out of the oven. You can buy most Mediterranean bits that you can't find in normal super markets. Great prepared food counter serving Turkish/greek hot food etc. The fruit although fairly reasonable is touch and go. The fruit is sometimes fresh with a vast selection. There are a few barbecue bits too and a great meat counter although no pork is available.

Great supermarket (medium sized) for Turkish & Eastern Mediterranean produce! Usually fairly busy (& the car parking is a nightmare so walk if you can!) but a SUPERB selection of all manner of the above mentioned produce, often with a bargain or special offer to be found on the shelves! Fruit (fresh & dried), vegetables, meats, nuts, olives, cheeses, sweets/cakes (Cypriot), savouries, tinned produce (like dolmades or Imam), rices, couscous, Greek/Turkish coffees, breads...this place has it all!! A modest selection of hot foods to take away also available.

the variety of food is really great although the quality varies (i.e. found expired can of soup there once). i definitely love their pastry especially the bread. however the shop assistants should really get laid or something. i think it would be nice if they at least say hi when they're checking you out. sometimes they are not even bothered to tell you the price of your purchase. i'd give it 3,5/5 if that was possible.

I have recently moved practically next door and this supermarket is a real gem. This supermarket offers a fantastic range of exceptionally fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a wide range of products . The butchers is excellent offering a brilliant meat selection at reasonable prices . I have never experienced a better selection of olives and I find all other products well worth a look . Yes some things you may be able to buy cheaper in sainsburys or morrisons but you will not find the same fresh selection of international products at such reasonable prices elsewhere. Also I find the staff friendly and helpful . I am really glad to have found this shop amd will continue to do the majority of my shopping here

Yasar Halim is a great supermarket. Not in a Tesco or Waitrose way. Feels much more basic, but the quality of the food, especially the vegetables, is excellent, and mostly free of overwrapping with plastic, though some remains. Tip: use paper bags for the veg, not the plastic ones on rolls. Excellent Turkish bakery; the cheese & spinach gozleme are a favourite, and a big selection of baklava && other sweet stuff. Stock up on olives, olive oil, hummus, pitta.

Turkish Cypriot grocery, delicatessen, confectionary, butchers and bakery. The original Harringay store is iconic and has been around for many years. Much copied by others but not equalled. Service is variable, from very friendly to very stroppy. What makes people go back time and again is the quality of produce, especially the bakery and confectionary. Very delicious pilavuna (cheese "scone"), tahinni (Turkish Cypriot "danish pastry" made with tahin) and corek (long sesame bread). Big choice of hellim, including the London based Turkish Cypriot dairies. Unfortunately they don't sell any from North Cyprus (arguably the best!) due to EU embargoes. They also have takeaway dishes of rice, pasta, salad and meat dishes at lunchtimes. Shame they stopped making Turkish Cypriot style boreks. Availability is very variable. For example they seldom have ekmek kadeyifi or asure. Do visit. You will find it impossible not to buy anything! Overall, it is a "must visit" supermarket if you are in the area and like Turkish or "ethnic" food.

Been going to Yasar Halim since my grand parents days in Haringey. I now use the Palmers Green one. I am now 50 years old and go at least twice a week. Great food and always get great service. A truly iconic Turkish Cypriot experience.

Surely the most unprepossessing exteriors reveal the most interesting interiors? Yasir Halim is the perfect example of this cliché, but is all the more satisfying a find for it. Very fresh Fruit, vegetables, a proper butchers, a splendid bakery, patisserie, olives and a wide range of cheeses can be found at this dependable, if somewhat chaotic Turkish grocer. Canned pulses and beans nestle alongside freshly made Turkish delight and savory gozleme, spices, pickles, beers and wine and even barbeque accessories are well priced and the place oozes a dependable (if slightly eccentric) quality. Choc Guzel!
