R. S.A smaller branch than many but excellent choice of good quality fresh fruit and veg, smashing bakery selection and lots of staples too, all at very reasonable prices. The wine and spirits section has a great deal to choose from. If you're after biscuits or treats there are plenty of those to choose from, quite often things you might not see elsewhere.
A. 1. (.The shops needs a refurbishment or is just overrated. A bit grimy. Also the cheese counter is hilarious (it’s a load of vegan ready meal boxes from what I can see) the fish counter has about three fish. Three stars when you consider the price.

S. M. H.Another great example of a Waitrose & Partners Store. As usual, they sell very high quality produce with a fair range of products. This store is not as busy as others. There were also plexiglass partitions between the quick-check terminals to keep customers separated and safe. All in all a pleasant shopping experience.
S. T.Definitely the best customer service experience I ever had. I was looking for a particular Single Malt Whisky that I had seen on Waitrose's website but unfortunately there wasn't any in stock.
Luckily I met Robert who was stocking some items on the shelf. He was very informative and polite and had went out of his way to call and check the Ponteland branch for me. When they confirmed stock, he requested that they keep their very last one on hold for me. Majority of times, a staff would just say to me, "Oh we are out of stock, whatever you see on the shelf is all we have." They would never offer to go a step further.
Robert really went above and beyond. A massive thumbs up! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A lovely employee named Katie approached us and after asking for my permission she offered my baby a little cuddly Easter sheep. I found the gesture very sweet and touching and it made our day. J. A.Visually from the outside you get the impression that the shop is rather small. Rather the contrary, the inside is large with a great variety of products types and brands of products. The experience was very good with everywhere being clean and plenty of shop assistants if in need of direction or help. There are a number of cashier tills as well for smaller shops, a self-service tills if this is preferred.

G. B.Always great choice with different brands and a large deli selection, and premium wines/beers and spirits that other supermarkets might not stock. The staff can't do enough for you, treat you like royalty.
I recommend the Dutchy products as top notch for the little extra. They also stock Pieminster which is awesome.
Not a shop if your on a tight budget but a great alternative to m&s especially for fresh food and meats, or fenwicks for drinks.
There is rarely if ever a queue unlike say tesco metro at lunchtime/6pm, and when there is it is indoors.
Not always open as late as other so best check times if making a special visit.
N. E.Came in today and found bargains!! And I think there is all new staff here compared to a few months back and they were all very polite an helpful on the shop floor and on the tills.

M. W.Waitrose regularly wins awards as the top supermarket, and this is justified, as it has all the class the others don't have. This branch is superb for it's size and puts it's competitors in the shade. There's a great range of top quality products for such a small shop and I always buy a few items here. All Waitrose supermarkets are clean and well stocked with the best produce available. The staff in this one like the others I've visited are very friendly, chatty and helpful. Waitrose like their partners John Lewis have the best well trained 'old school' staff of any shop in Newcastle.

E. P.I love this store. Where do I begin? The people that work there are always courteous and ready to help you find whatever it is you are looking for. They have a wide variety of items from international foods, to freshly baked goods, excellent meats(including organic), vegetables(including organic), ready to warm soups(including organic), specialty cheeses and the list goes on and on.
I am in the store almost daily. I enjoy starting in the fruits and vegetables looking for organic apples and strawberries. Then I move on to the avocados that have always turned out nice for me, never any older ones. One thing I really like about Waitrose is their attention to details. For instance, with the avocados, of course you can buy them individually, but they offer a four pack with two that are ready to use within a day or two and two that are labeled "eat later". The avocados always come out perfect as you need them.
Some of my favorite items to get on a regular basis at Waitrose and Partners is Organic Pink Lady apples, Vitoria grapes, Waitrose brand popping corn, CoYo coconut yogurt, Waitrose No.1 Greek style yogurt, Pane Pugliese or Waitrose Sourdhough(fresh baked or packaged), all butter muffins(to die for), yum yums(best in Newcastle), Cafe Direct coffees(cafetiere grind), Kerry Gold butter, Yeo Valley Organic Double Cream, Acorn double cream, Waitrose Single Cream, Finnebrough naked bacon(no nitrates or nitrites), Waitrose organic sausages, organic hamburger and meatballs, organic free range eggs, almond Cantuccini and Waitrose Duchy Vanilla ice cream.
Those are some of my regular items, but they have so so much more to offer that I have not discovered. I always find something new and exciting to try and to feed my family with. I think this is part of the reason I love this grocery store so much. There is no need to go anywhere else when you have the kind of selection and variety that Waitrose offers. They truly put the time and effort into the quality of foods and products they offer.
M. G.Awesome produce as usual. I enjoy shopping at Waitrose as it has a light-hearted, relaxing ambiance and the staff are very friendly, helpful and delightful. During this lockdown period there was the usual 2 meter distancing queue outside when a member of staff came out one day to let us know what was on offer for the day and during a 'free from' discussion she recommended the dairy-free Booja Booja ice cream with salted caramel and pecans 😌👌🏽 I bought it. O.M.G. 😌 Well, once the spoon is in the tub it just keeps relaying to my mouth until I think I'd better leave some for another day...so only 2 servings per tub for me hahaha 😆 But I have ice cream probably only twice per year...so I'm allowed hahaha. The lemon and orange iced lollies are delicious too!! 🤗😋☀️☀️☀️🍨🍭

M. H.Waitrose is a supermarket from the same stable as John Lewis, and its expensive by default. To be honest I find it okay, but I can't really find anything that I must get from here, that I can't get from anywhere else cheaper. There isn't a massive leap in quality that you may expect from the association with JL and the price premium.

Otherwise had exactly what I needed and an excellent offer on Bacardi 👍
P. D.We don't shop here on a regular basis but have enjoyed the convenience and quality of this shop on the odd occasion we have needed to replenish items we have run out of. When this does happen we have often been tempted by the well presented fare.
We shop weekly at Waitrose Ponteland and are grateful to them for identifying us as regular customers over 70, and facilitating on-line shopping slots for us. My wife had a hip replacement operation on the 9th March just before such operations were cancelled and was reliant upon paracetamol for pain management. As the analgesic became impossible to obtain and Waitrose were unable to fulfil our order the delivery driver was most helpful in locating an alternative source.
C. J.This Waitrose is far too small. It tries to act like a large, full line supermarket with its meat and deli counters but it’s trying to do all this in a convenience store sized plot. There’s a limited range of story cupboard and household items.The self scans are annoyingly card only and none of the manned checkouts are big enough to place a full trolley load of shopping on. Nevertheless, the quality Waitrose staples can all be found here. Gets very very busy. If you stick to basic items prices are actually quite reasonable.
