📍Wing Hong Canteen @ 55 George St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7JN If you're on a tight budget and you're craving for Chinese food, this is the perhaps the most economical Chinese food you can get in all of Newcastle. Wing Hong Canteen is literally what it is - a canteen. Directly opposite lies Newcastle College. I went just before lunch break, in which the canteen instantly became full of students the moment lunch time begin. The line for food extended all the way to the door. It makes sense. Wing Hong Canteen mainly caters to students and their own workers. Dishes are cooked in bulk. You get to choose Rice, Noodles or Chips (or mix all three), and add on whatever dishes your heart desires. Apparently, the best seller is their Chilli and Pepper Fried Chicken. With beef and a whole array of other meats to choose from, I can see why students love this place. It's economical and sufficiently tasty. For a whole portion of Fried Rice and Noodles, with Curry sauce & Chilli Pepper Fried Chicken, it only costed 5 quid. The portions were big, and I couldn't finish it. Don't come here expecting to be served like a king with food at its finest presentation. As I said, if you're on a tight budget, and you're craving for fast Chinese Food, you can give this place a try. *They're only open on Monday to Friday. Closed on weekends.

Love the canteen food, the chilli crispy chicken are so nice. I got fried rice nuggets and the chilli chicken, was only 5.50 for a very large portion and I had to share it with my brother to finish it and even then I was very full. The lady serving was also very nice and kind. Worth it and will be back. The snacks in the shops are also quite good, good variety.

Best place to go for Chinese or Asian goods shopping! I actually found this cincalok / Korean fermented shrimp in the freezer section and I was like OMG .. As a Malaysian who hasn't been back home for quite a period I was craving some of these xx

It does have alot of asian stuff like many variety of noodles and ramen. What I love about them is they have variety in gyoza (dumplings) and boba teas and bao buns. Their meet variety is wide and they have fresh crab from the tank. Worth the check out.

All you need to know about Wing Hong, is that it pretty much supplies a good amount of restaurants in the city and surrounding areas. Range of goods is amazing, and there's a takeaway on site as well that has a decent star seating area to eat in. Prices are phenomenal as well, as i personally get a huge slab of pork belly from here to do BBQ. Well worth a visit and you'd be daft to ignore Wing Hong!

Been there once or twice now it's not very clean but I love the frozen dim sum sui mai £6 for a pack of 20 good quality I usually pay 4.90 for 6 at my local takeaway

Plenty of choice they even have a section selling kitchen equipment. Also they have a side section where you can sit and eat it get takeaway pretty cheap. Spot on. Only thing that can be annoying is the parking being limited when busy
